Dimanche

This opens with a wet, sharp lemongrass-like note, warms into rose and cocoa, then settles with a light resin base on a rich citric rose-forward center. It reminds me of One Seed’s Freedom - elegant, light, but lasts a long time in a subtle way. If you pasted this on and kept pasting it could fill a room, which, why? If this is used in the normal way (spray or two to neck, 1-2 sprays each wrist and rub) people cutting your hair or walking by and stopping to chat in a hall might notice and you’ll catch happy little whiffs all day. If you did the spray-in-the-air thing, people would assume you just smell great naturally (your shampoo? Your laundry detergent? Your lotion?) I have never gotten any off-notes from a SIP. It’s possible - we all have off-notes. But this house trends toward unique, essential oil/naturals type scents and does them beautifully.

This is a very smooth, delicate, and proper example of all-natural perfumery. That essential-oil earthiness still exists, but it doesn't smell like a health food store or a head shop, and all of the ingredients are very well balanced. Dimanche is a very pure, tender, unsweetened iris/cocoa. It lasts all day but stays very, very quiet -- you basically have to stick your nose in it to smell it. It reminds me a bit of Bois Farine -- they don't smell alike but they have the same unsweetened gourmand powder vibe.

Take hot water and teaspoon of honey and mix it, you will be wearing the same thing as this scent. I wear mostly naturals. I have Abel, Hiram Green, Gather perfumes, and Providence Perfume Company in my collection and all of them are wonderful. I assumed the same would apply to this brand but boy was I mistaken! Thank God I just sampled, but the kit cost $90 and that is a big waste of money. I could have had some quality fragrances for that kind of money. I suppose I will "gift" this set to my niece (I will tell her I already tried them) she might like some that have the mint notes but these perfumes are more like herbal scented water, not fine fragrance.

I've tried a lot of natural perfumes and I find Dimanche to be rapturously beautiful. It's sparkling, warm, sophisticated, and just luscious. My favorite of the Strange Invisible collection by far, and I find many of them to be very good.
