Melt My Heart

“Inspires romance and indulgence for devoted lovers.” I’ll say! It is so romantic and indulgent it’s almost embarrassing, like a blatant PDA that makes public passers-by raise their eyebrows. But the point is that you’re not one of the passers-by, you’re in the throws of that PDA and so lost in the moment that you don’t care how much or what kind of attention it is getting. We all know or have seen that couple, that are so in love it’s nearly comically puerile and gross. Bergamot, ginger, nutmeg, and sage are paired alongside the animalics and rotted fruit of oud’s high notes in the opening of the perfume. In Laudamiel’s signature style it is oily-wet like a dense fog or mist. They keep the heavy oud suspended high in the air, whilst adding a bit of white heat to melt the massive chocolate bar lying in wait, like you’re about to use some very odd cheeses or fruits for a chocolate fondue. The woody and spicy nutmeg. and the green and earthy sage, do a lot of work to keep this section of the perfume broad, expansive, and to not let it descend into a disjointed and soupy chocolate mess. Then come the stars of meltmyheart: oud, cocoa, and orris. The oud is the material that Strangelove and Laudamiel have used in all of their perfumes I have tried thus far (4), and is a natural pairing to a cocoa accord. The dark, oily, and resinous wood facets steered in a very convincing and logical direction of the fermented and earthy wood aspects that make chocolate so alluring. In the final skin scent the oud goes quite sour and green woody as it does in the other Strangelove perfumes I have tried, but gives up, eventually, to its co-star always present in the dry down as well: cocoa. The cocoa is, obviously, very gourmand-leaning and very convincing - how Laudamiel got it there is quite commendable. It is so bitter and powdery that it seems it can only be reconstituted to liquid or solid form by the oils of the oud and the butter of orris. The final star here is a creamy, buttery, salty, fatty, unctuous, and slick orris that stays away from lactonic characteristics - thankfully - but shares a lot of overlap with the cocoa. How much of the cocoa’s bitterness is actually orris, and how much of the unctuous quality of the orris is actually cocoa, I don’t know. Laudamiel, again, does a masterful job of stitching these together. I have an image in my head of standing at my stove, gently melting baker’s chocolate of 100% cocoa while slowly adding in more and more and more butter. I might just pull a Paula Dean and drink some melted butter from a shot glass. In finality the orris goes more metallic and rooty providing a very pleasant uplift to the perfume’s woody facets, which are a bit opaque to me, and should simply be described as a light weight woody amber. There is something floral, creamy, and very gently caramel-vanillic about the base that is hard to pin down. Hilariously and almost uncomfortably scrumptious; rich, indulgent, and excessive whilst still being very diffusive, light weight, and breathable as seems to be the mandate of Laudamiel and Strangelove. A gourmand that bridges unashamed excess and proper luxury over their dividing line. And, as far as that line goes, Laudamiel’s style is such that if you tell him to get from A to B in a straight line he’ll get there but expect twists, turns, and oddities along the way. This is an excellent perfume and one of the best in the gourmand genre I have smelled in the last decade. Meltmyheart? Yeah, consider me melted. Gooey in your hands.

I recently bought the Strangelove discovery set, having long been intrigued by this house. While expensive, their compositions are creative yet wearable, made with high-quality ingredients, notably the oud used. I started with Dead of Night, a classic rose-oud scent featuring a dark, skanky, animalic oud note. Melt My Heart is a more unusual composition, its oud note much more toned-down and very much playing a supporting role. It features a chocolate-orris accord - two notes I adore when done well - bolstered by woody notes, warm spices and orange. MMH opens with chocolate, dark, rich and high-quality. Some ginger adds bite to the opening, reminiscent of a Lindt ginger bar. Powdery orris follows, adding texture. Iris is my favourite note of all, and alongside chocolate, it forms an interesting accord that really works. It is dry initially, becoming smoother as it develops. The oud lingers in the background, enhancing the chocolate to perfection. At turns woody, amber-y and leathery, it is not dirty or animalic here, unlike in Dead of Night. The orange note follows, forming a chocolate-orange accord for a moment, reminiscent of good quality chocolate bars of that flavour. This accord can smell cheap, but thankfully not here. The ylang ylang adds a creaminess as it develops, keeping things deliciously smooth. The oud resembles leather at this juncture, again adding to the smoothness of this phase of the scent, and continues to enhance the dark chocolate. The orris fades into the background, but its powdery texture is evident throughout. Nutmeg adds warm spice to the later stages, a note that also melds beautifully with chocolate in general. It dries down to a powdery, woody-musky skin scent, with chocolate and nutmeg lingering until final fade. Dry and smooth until the end, it is well-blended throughout. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. It is unisex in my opinion - it isn't too sweet or floral despite its dominant notes. It is best worn in autumn/winter, being a cosy oud scent. MMH is another excellent scent from this house, a creative chocolate-themed gourmand that remains a wearable and elegant scent. Here, the oud is relatively unchallenging, contributing to the whole rather than dominating. The top-quality oud used in its creations is the selling-point of Strangelove, and I'm delighted to find that the compositions make great use of it, showcasing it in different ways. Sure, it's an expensive brand, but in my opinion, it is not overpriced based on what it delivers. I loved this one. 5/5.

Melt my heart. And every other bit of my body until I'm just a puddle on the floor. That's what this perfume does. It's ABSOLUTELY stunning. I can't really put it into words, one of the most buttery Orris butters one could conceive of, it's really hard to imagine a more opulent scent than the sheer amount of the stuff that is in this fragrance. I have often called orris butter or concrete, absolute etc... high irone content orris root materials as a kind of cheat mode, a sort of thickening and bolstering roux which can smooth out and elevate even the most crappy of compositions, and simply smells divine, pretty much universally loved by all, a doozy, a soft soap. However, it's rare that you get it so affectionately handled in such quantity, favouring the heady more powdery qualities and less so the heavy, fleshy and vegetal sweet 'carrot' notes often describes (it does still have this somwhat) . Everything complements it from the chocolately undertones, to the sweet raspberry topnotes and powdery accord and very, very subdued oud. In fact I'd say out of the lot, this one has the least identifiable oud note, because I think it would clash rather than complement, as it does at it's current level. It's pretty much perfect and I fail to see how orris and iris lovers couldn't rank this among the very best they've smelled, it's certainly the best one I can recall. If we want to lower the tone with talk of performance, I will. It was prominent on my skin 24 hours later. However, it's prohibitively expensive for my budget with the 100ml weighing in at a whopping £900 a bottle. That's not to say that I don't think it delivers 'value' because across the board Strangelove is project which mashes up high end department store, celebrity Nichery and incredible, boundary pushing, next level artisan perfumery with the finest and most expensive materials on the planet. Having seen some OUTRAGEOUS brands charging six grand a bottle for Luxury BS recently, with nowhere near the transparency or artistry of this brand, then by comparison these prices are a steal!!!

MeltMyHeart has been on my radar for quite some time, ever since I began exploring dark‐chocolate and cacao‐forward perfumes. I finally picked up a sample, loved what I smelled, and decided to take the plunge by buying a bottle on eBay at a great price. Would I pay full retail? Honestly, no. And here’s why: that infamous wonky cap. I remember noticing it almost two years ago when I first tested Strangelove at Harrods—every single tester had a crooked cap. For a fragrance at this price point, that’s simply unacceptable. The cap itself is beautiful—weighty, elegant, and a lovely way to elevate the otherwise simple bottle—but the fact that it doesn’t sit straight completely undermines the experience. Strangelove, please fix this! Rant over—now onto the fragrance itself. MeltMyHeart opens with a rich wave of dusty cacao powder, intertwined with nutmeg and supported by a subtle thread of oud. The oud doesn’t overwhelm; instead, it deepens and shapes the cacao, adding warmth and dimension. Then the scent shifts. A brief flicker of ginger appears as if to signal the transition, and suddenly the fragrance becomes more citrusy and floral, while the cacao and oud retreat gracefully into the background. It’s a fascinating evolution—usually you’d expect citrus first, then florals, then oud. Iris is present throughout, not as a dominant note but as a soft, seamless layer of smoothness and gentle powderiness that carries the composition from start to finish. The drydown is where it truly shines: a long‐lasting, beautifully balanced blend where no single note shouts for attention. It’s harmonious, subtle, and endlessly intriguing. I’m captivated by how it evolves, and I absolutely adore the final stages on skin.

Inhaling it immediately satisfy my craving for chocolate which I'm sure is amongst everyone's favorite food. It take me to a very happy and relaxing state of mind precisely like the effects of eating the real chocolate. Slowly the texture becomes buttery rich and slightly creamy in the heart with the blend of ylang ylang and orris butter. It also transform a tad sweeter now with just the right dose of mandarin orange. In this stage the romantic vibe comes so lively reminiscence the feeling of falling in love. The long lasting fairytale love journey settle down with a heart warming note of purified ginger. Oud and sandalwood in this fragrance is so subtle I can barely smell separately but I'm sure it's there to lift the big projection and long lasting power. The transition of this fragrance is so smooth almost feel linear but it isn't. This is what I'm looking for from fragrance with high quality ingredients. Effortless continuity transition. In summary meltmyheart is more than just a simple chocolate fragrance. It's a delicious delicacy, highly natural with big projection but subtle and tender in the manifestation. Such quality that I can only find in ROJA Parfums - A Goodnight Kiss. I highly recommend this one for many great reasons. Wow. This perfume is extraordinarily good. This one comes close to taking No.3 spot Amber Absolute is my No.1. Rich indulgent Dark Chocolate swirls around with a tinge of sweetness painting an ombre creaminess into the noir Cacao flavor. At the heart of it, once the chocolate rises up to make your mouth water, there is a deeper earthier Orris note. Like lush Violet flowers. Only slightly powdery, keeping their luscious juicy form. The Oud in here is most interesting, it is subtle. Not nearly animalic nor medicinal as I was expecting. Is this Hindi Oud? It is quite similar to the Oud I experienced in Russian Oud & Russian Musk. Then there is a warm nuttiness to this scent. It stays closer to the skin. Nutmeg or Macademia? Like a milk chocolate Macademia nut bar Lindt makes? So in short, imagine the most decadent brownie with nuts & nutmeg sprinkled with violet flowers on top. This is close to epitome of Chocolate gourmand. I love it because it is not sugary and not overpoweringly sweet at all. The dank Violets make it sexy and ground it expertly. I did rush my seduced self over to Luckyscent to buy this but the price broke my heart. I suspect some of the $475 is attributed to the gold plated cap..I really hope they make a version without this added white elephant on it. It is also one reason I am deterred from buying By Kilian. I don't want to pay $100+ for a box! For now I will covet the 3-4 drops left in my sample. If you love this but can't buy it try : Slumberhouse Ore, Areej La Dore Russian Musk and perhaps Hiram Green's Slowdive. Obviously these are not the same as Melt My Heart but you will love these I'm sure.

Milliliter for milliliter, I’m fairly sure this is the most expensive perfume I own. So naturally, it’s the only thing I want to wear for the rest of my life 😤 I’m done, stick a fork in me. I’ve found the one; the holy grail, the end of the rainbow. So I suppose my wallet will thank me, in time. It’s so freaking good, I can’t even describe it. Very chic, very Laudamiel, a bit old fashioned, and is absolutely the best iris I’ve ever smelled in my many years of perfume as a hobby. It’s not too rooty, not too vegetal, nor too waxy, powdery, nor lipstick-y, it’s just perfect. I mainly get the chocolate in the top notes, and the delightful ginger doesn’t make an appearance until a few hours in. Melt My Heart is understated yet comfortably spicy, with no sharp edges whatsoever. Sillage is ephemeral and wafty, but constant, like a transparent monolith. I smell this on clothes for days, and in my opinion it actually smells even better the day *after* you spray it. One or 2 sprays is plenty. I promise the oud is not scary. Leans feminine... but I think I’d go nuts if I smelled this on a man. The closest thing I can compare it to was 2005 Dior Homme, which I ADORED, but haven’t smelled in at least 15 years, so I’m only going from memory. As a result, Melt My Heart is like a souvenir from a dream. Just wonderful!

When I first saw the notes for MeltmyHeart, I thought it was going to be one of my favourite fragrances of all time - I must say it didn’t live up to my expectations, however is an incredible scent nonetheless. Many people describe this as an overdose of chocolate and orris, but I actually find it to be quite tame. The opening to me is dominated by this refreshing medley of mandarin, ginger and bergamot which takes the lead initially. It’s from here that a dry, dusty and earthy cacao is paired with a beautifully soft, powdery and musky orris root. This scent is stunning, but not as gourmand as I was expecting it to be. MeltmyHeart is the epitome of romance, it’s warming and sensual however I think overall Roja Ti Amo does the whole cacao/orris scent profile much better. I’ve also noticed some differences in scent between my 15ml bottle, and the bigger 50/100ml bottles which seem to be much more focused on the cacao and orris rather than the ginger and mandarin.

So I treated myself to the 10ml oil. And when I say treated, I mean it! Hefty price tag for the tiniest amount of perfume I own. That being said, I wish I could find a website that will ship the 50 ml spray. I live in Ireland, and no-one will ship it here! Creamy sandalwood, oud and dark chocolate - I get a tiny bit of mandarin too. The scent is so complex and sexy, it’s warming down to something so edible and delicious. It’s close on my skin - it’s not projecting but that being said, I don’t think you want or need this to project. It’s so sexy and sensual it’s dangerous. My husband nuzzled into my neck and simply said ‘you smell gooooood.’ The packaging and bottle is exquisite, and it’s backstory is very attractive. Who doesn’t want to smell of something Helena Christiansen helped to create?!? If anyone feels like helping me to procure a 50ml bottle, please get in touch! This is special. Oh, so special.

Finally gave this a try after caving and buying the discovery set. I immediately got the following after the first few hours of wearing it: Hot mocha with an extra shot of espresso, a bouquet of flowers from a loved one, a little treat left for you by a friend with a sweet note attached to it. It's very much something warm, comfortable, like burying yourself into blankets on a snow day, watching the powder fall in piles while a fireplace crackles nearby. It's a favorite hoodie, overworn and still comfortable after so many years. It's a favorite person, a familiar laugh, a friendly place, a longing that's finally being met. It is sweet, in the best way, with hints of spice and floral that blend into the perfect scent. Lasts all day with a pretty good sillage as well. If you're somebody who wants to be remembered as lovely, go with this.

I love this fragrance. After trying all 3, I found Melt my Heart to be the most unique and purchased a full bottle on the spot. Oud is present (real oud), but more subtle in this composition than the others, and blended perfectly, resulting in a beautiful fragrance that couldn't offend. The fragrance is absolutely unisex, but quite feminine when I wear it, opening with chocolate and a wonderful earthy tone from the orris root. There is almost a boozy quality to the chocolate, which I love. Within minutes the earthy note softens and the fragrance develops a more powdery accord, with the ginger, and nutmeg present in the background. The ginger in this fragrance isn't overpowering, which I love. It is in fact very subtle, resulting in the entire composition being more creamy, not at all sharp or overly spicy. A very beautiful fragrance.

Melt My Heart is the scent that changed my opinion of oud. This scent contains high levels of beautiful, smooth, and seductive *natural* oud. It blends perfectly with the cocoa and iris to become more than the sum of its parts, creating something very special, something I crave to smell daily. This blend is my new favorite and perhaps the gateway drug to more natural oud fragrances - like unlocking a new level of perfumery and a whole new world of enjoyment. 10/10 recommend if you love orientals. I was able to find a bottle significantly discounted at Jomashop, but I would pay full price if I had to. The quality and concentration of this perfume is what I imagine perfumery was like decades ago, before IFRA regulations choked out natural ingredients and perfumers turned to synthetics as replacement. Simply gorgeous.

In the reasonings of the brain there is logic, in the reasonings of the heart there are emotions.’ -Rita Levi-Montalcini- Melt my Heart, and what our hearts melt into when we are in love: in this marvellous fragrance: chocolate powder, elegant iris, the sensuality of ylan ylang and liqueur-like touches of absinthe, creating something extremely enveloping, classy and leaving an incredibly refined and magnetic sillage. The oud is there, but in very small quantities, so as to make this perfume truly balanced, if unique. Well I feel like saying that ‘Melt my Heart’ is more what any person would say when smelling this fragrance on someone else. Stunning, on the wishlist. ‘Love’ painted by Klimt.

I'll try to come back and describe this better if I ever learn how to, but for now: This is, without comparison, the best thing I've ever put my nose on. I had never heard about the brand when I found this in a small shop while on vacation. I'm pretty sure I gasped when I smelled it and definitely gasped again when I saw the price. I sprayed my wrist, hurried out the shop and went on my way. Three hours later, I was back in the shop to buy the smallest size available and a year later I'm still completely in love with the scent. My tiny little 15 ml bottle will last me ages though, as this is definitely a special occasion scent for me. Pure decadence and pleasure in a bottle.

Only differences being that, perhaps for me, the nutmeg becomes more pronounced much sooner, and also perhaps for me, the orange isn't really coming through as noticeably. Yummy chocolate, the oud helps provide just enough of the necessary olfactory richness, while the remaining notes provide some additional complexity and wearability. Seems a bit feminine to me, but I suppose it qualifies as unisex. This is my first impression, but I wager I will find a reason to become addicted to this one (as I have with deadofnight).

Subtle. At first I was put off by the forward iris, until I started sniffing my skin. Then I got hooked. It is chocolatey, but it's more rooty than I would have thought, and there's depth and complexity. The touch of bergamot on the opening makes it magical. I love anything that mixes sparkle and earth, and this does it sumptuously. If you want to smell expensive and ethereal, this is it. Other perfumes do this too, but this one has no sharp edges. Even the oud, which comes through a bit later, is gentle, with just enough funk to make it real. Projection and sillage are enormous and it lasts forever, so a 15ml bottle will go a long way.

I got a smaller bottle of this at a reasonable price and went in blind. Luckily, it's a successful purchase and when it arrived today I was extremely happy with this one. Think of a smooth, creamy milk chocolate and iris ganche, along with a large dose of sweetly powdered orris. A gentle sweet mandarin and a delicate grating of nutmeg in the background that creates a warmth. You are outside enjoying hot chocolate on a warm autumn afternoon, walking alongside your partner, sharing a kiss and a comforting hug in their arms, as you smile - breathing in the sweetness of their skin, cacao, and a warmed suede jacket.

A warm, creamy dark chocolate with a touch of earthy woods and blooming iris. Like a cup of spiced hot cocoa. The ginger and citrus lend a fresh bubbliness while the woody base ties everything together in a synergistic fashion, the soft sandalwood boosting the creaminess and effervescent top notes while the oud adds its earthiness plus a faint camphorous lift. No stank here. Moderately strong projection fades over 3-4hr, chocolate fading after 8hr+, longevity 12hr+ as a woody iris skin scent. The ultimate chocolate iris scent. Shame they really take the piss out of you with that absolutely gross price point.

I can't believe I'm actually saying such a cheesy thing, but this did actually melt my heart because it instantly brought me back to my childhood - like smelling perfume on adults when I was a child. It is "perfume" with hints of chocolate that come and go, and then goes away for good. It is not a gourmand to me. It is a perfectly blended, classy, addictive, opulent perfume. I love it.

Smells amazing but the performance left a lot to be desired. For the price the performance is just not there. The sillage is moderate but for the price it should be much better. Over $900 this should have been an extrait and not a EDP concentration. Still, the fragrance smells amazing and it’s one of the best of the Chocolate Oud I’ve smelled.

This is a strange one for me. I absoluteley hate it out of the bottle, but I can't stop wearing it. I crave it on days when I don't wear it, even more so now that days got colder. It's the equvalent of being wrapped up in a Hermes blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. The drydown is one of the weirdest and best things I have ever smelt.

So expensive, so stunning. On my wishlist for now This is a borderline NEED.

First of all, the reason I got a sample of this scent was because it's compared to Musc des Sables, which I'm in love with. It's not that similar, but I'm still glad I tried it because I liked this one, too. A bold, buttery, full-bodied orris, a chocolatey dark support, a tiny bit of oud and indolic flowers... I think it's something that revolves entirely around sensuality. There are aromatics and herbs as well as citruses to give liveliness, but these only take a tiny role and leave the stage. Quite long-lasting.. and in the drydown there's something addictive that I'd call dirtier compared to the overall composition, but that also feels cozy at the same time. I love this perfume- it is subtle and enormous at the same time. It is beautifully blended- the chocolate, the oud, the orris almost right there, and then slipping right back into the mix. My daughter will put this on before bed sometimes ( pandemic) and it will slowly fill our tiny house, and I will be drawn to her bedside, inhaling as she dreams. It unfortunately does not wear the same on me( my skin eats perfume). It tantalizes- recombines right out of reach, the silliage is superb. This is the only perfume that I have dreamt of - no one had it on for weeks. I with I could afford a bottle , the sample is boarded- and will be repurchased. BRAVO!

Melt My Heart is a beautiful rich dark chocolate and orris butter scent but it does not go into gourmand territory straight away. It opens with a very prominent absinthe note which is supported by bergamot and mandarin orange resulting in a much brighter opening than I had expected. In the dry down the absinthe takes a back seat but remains throughout the life of the fragrance. I remember someone commenting they pick up a “minty note” which I completely agree. Theres a slight woody aspect from the oud but nothing animalic or barnyard whatsoever. Definitely a scent for special occasions and 100% unisex in my opinion.

Melt my heart would be a lovely Valentine's day gift for the one you love. Give them the scent of chocolate instead of all the calories. This starts off smelling like bakers chocolate and I have to say I was a bit disappointed but as it develops subtle spices, orange, and a buttery iris start to melt the chocolate and create a truly decadent delight for the senses. Very sexy, would be a great date night fragrance. This is slightly boozy as well. Coco butter nuances also come through. Very buttery, creamy, and has a melting effect on the skin.

Orris/iris and cocoa/dark chocolate, maybe a tiny hit of oud. Very powerful, dense and extremely long lasting. I'm mainly only getting orris and cocoa the whole time. The sillage might have a more noticeable oud note akin to patchouli but still slight compared to the orris/cocoa combination. My bottle is a few years old now, newer batches might be slightly different. Strangelove is one of my favorite brands, I enjoy how powerful the parfum is without any really noticeable synthetic aroma chemicals. Upper class stuff for sure.

Dense woody gourmand scent that will appeal to lovers of confection like scents. The scent has a brief opening of aromatic notes of citrus, sage, nutmeg and ginger before it goes into a dense heart of chocolate, orris, and some ylang. The perfume settles on a powdery base of oud, woody notes and synthetic musks. The unisex scent has moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. It would be more suitable for fashionable ladies for a romantic night out or a special occasion in my opinion. Enjoy!

I don’t know about this one, to be honest. The Orris is as pure as everyone here is claiming it to be, but the choice of everything else surrounding it makes this fragrance a tad bit muddled if you’re smelling it up close. This is one of those scents where you really have to let it open up in the air to truly appreciate its beauty, but I was kind of hoping for the whole shabang given that it’s so expensive.

Cocoa, iris and slightly animalic Oud is what I'm getting in the dry down; the same type of slightly sour Oud in TT Ursa. It smells nice, but not £800 nice. Actually, no scent is worth this much. Just an opinion.

This is an exciting Fall fragrance. First expression. It opens with rich dry (almost dusty!) chocolate/cocoa, Then you feel orris & oud with a lil nutmeg down. This scent is unique yes, I would not compare it with anything similar but It gives me a vibe similar to Nasomatto Pardon, where cocoa is gentle, not intense. The price is really too high.

Interesting, amberous chocolaty iris. A bit stale and flat. The oud is nicely blended and much more subtle than that poopy nightmare, Dead 💩f Night. 🚽🧻 Sorry. I don’t have much to say about this one. I don’t smell the chocolate. But I’m also a fan of SWEET gourmands. This doesn’t give that. To me this smells of ash and perhaps mint. It’s smoke trailing off but not in a harsh way. Very smooth and well blended. Comforting actually.

Smells like when you make a cup of hot chocolate, the one that is a bit sweet and milky. It is nicely comforting and embracing, kind of a scent for colder autumn days.

One of those "authentic & pungent" ouds directly from the Middle East. Smells of cowdung on steroids, literally. Packaging is tacky and despite the golden plating, which, why would anyone wanna wear a mini perfume bottle (that is not even pretty or intricately designed) around their necks? These people can afford any high end necklace around their neck, so think, folks, think! I hope (and I am sure) it will make someone happy somewhere, but it ain't me.

Stranger Love NYC (USD 250, 100 ml., Full Presentation 1ml. used) Melt my Heart catch my attention due to abusively expensive selling price at USD960.. This is, might be most second expensive house in my collection / and most expensive from US fragrance. Thanks to one my local friend in community, he chop the price almost in half so I have a time to experience this one. First let me point out that I am truly appreciate clear natural Ingredient list. This box mention, Aquaria Agllocha Oil, Aquailaria Crasssana, Thebroma Cocao, Orris Pallida. Which truly assurance the high selling price. At least, brand let us know. That true Natural is used in this fragrance. This is the point I am appreciate. I believe I read somewhere, that when Natural to incorporated into fragrance. It is consumer right to know that this is full natural so they will be willing to pay a higher price. after all, when Natural combine with Chemical, it is done right. It's pleasing experience. I do one full wear of Melt my Heart and it is nice. I really enjoy. I feel like unsweetened chocolate before transit to nutmeg powder that feel so natural. Warm, cozy - lovely. I need to wear it a few time before I figure it out. However, one day I decide to do a full wear and get carried away by Nutmeg spicy nutmeg concoction. so comfy. But it is really enjoyable and didn't really tuff on my nose. It is smells like Actual Substance Chocolate. It is not Ambery Syrup like Kemi or Feve Gourmand. Where the smoke is loaded. But this feel like Spicy-Oriental fragrance as well. Nutmeg actually. It is wried because, one of my collogues told me that this smells good. "Smell like Male fragrance, it warm and sweet". She seems want to explain further but she out of word. "I asked her; is it kind of high quality cologne?" She nod to my question. I smile and curios a bit because she barely gives me a compliment. I recently own Musc des Sable, personally this aim very difference aspect. Melt my heart is warm and sweet. inviting.

Dear sniffer, Thank you for your fair and understandable feedback which always open interesting questions and debates. Real Oudh does smell very animalic. Your description is one of them. It actually ventilates, like a good red wine after a few minutes to 10 min of spraying on skin. This is normal for good quality oudh, especially when not twisted by strong notes such as Patchouli or Rose, which would be one way of doing it ala Middle East as you describe. Is however not the case of this fragrance: Orris root and bitter dark chocolate, and real ones, which you cannot miss in this fragrance, are not so typical in that combination. I would wear around my neck, and some people would as you say. People like to wear anything from charms to precious other dangling things such as diamond. Orris root is already much more expensive than gold, so deserves to dangle up there, in my opinion. A scent can be precious, or fun, to wear and to carry: to scent oneself in boring meetings or to scent someone else as a romantic effervescent or ephemeral souvenir. In fact I wish strangelove would have a less visible silver version for guys. If you want niche fragrances, hand-made in small batches, using some of the best quality ingredients in the world, put together by a master perfumer - you have to pay for it. There is no getting around it. People need to stop whining about things they cannot afford. I'd like a Ferrari but I don't knock their products simply because I will never be able to afford one. The best gourmand I've ever experienced. The chocolate in here is a million miles away from that cheap, nasty, chocolate-orange you'd get in something like Xerjoff Symphonium. Strangelove NYC's business model is also in stark contrast to other so called 'niche' brands that churn out 5-6 releases a year. In eleven years, they've only released five fragrances. That suggests a seriousness, a contemplation of their fragrances that a brand like Tom Ford (in reality, Estée Lauder) just doesn't have.

It Does Melt your Heart I Won the Fragrance few months back on Instagram on a giveaway the brand was running! Let me tell you! I can see why its called melt my heart! The materials used in here are top notch! The chocolate is creamy and melts in your body! The iris is purple and velvety! This is a Fragrance Royals wear! I Won a 15 ml bottle which is pretty expensive! But its worth the price tag! Why? Half a spray fills not just a Room BUT the whole HOUSE!!! Presentation of 15ML could be a lil bit better! But with that heavenly juice inside!? Im not complaining one bit! If you love Chocolaty,Woody(Oud),Velvety(Iris) this is a fragrance you need to try! One of the best performers on the market! One of the most delicious chocolate fragrances i ever put my nose to! Sample worthy 9.5/10

This is a good chocolate frag, smooth, sweet but not cloying. On the other hand, after seeing the discussion of oud here, as a oud enthusiast, I want to say something about oud. Only low quality and cheap real oud smells animalic. Fine wild and aged oud from prestigious origin like Vietnam, Brunei, Borneo etc. does not smell animalic at all, their smells are complex with sweet/floral/nutty/winey/minty tones but refreshing overall. However, since such oud is extremely expensive, they are nearly absent even in the niche fragrance market, but they do exist. Besides that, the concept of 'animalic oud' is probably a marketing strategy which serves as an excuse for synthetic oud notes failing to represent real oud. But oud is not a prominent note in this one, so no worries.

Beautiful buttery orris with a nice lick of creamy chocolate. A nice sandalwood comes in later and blends perfectly and there is a sprinkle of nutmeg. All very natural smelling. Comforting and seductive, not brash or bold. The texture was interesting and difficult for me to describe, especially in the dry down. Closest I could come up with is they there is a dry ‘oatmeal’ texture. When I heard Helena Christiansen was involved with the brand, I listened to the song Wicked Games (by Chris issac), which she appeared in the music video. Listening to it and wearing meltmyheart, I think the tone of both blend together perfectly. Bravo.

I bought both the sample pack first and then a 50 ml from fragrancebuy for a good price. Is it worth the money, definitely not . I am going to use a word used earlier’” muddled “. I really would not know what I am smelling without reading the notes . After it settles, yes, it is orris and chocolate , and it is nice, but the absinthe and nutmeg ruins it . It is different for sure, and you can tell it is made from good ingredients, but if I was not a collector, I would not have kept it. 7/10
