A Sorta Fairytale In Hyde Park

This is really beautiful. It opens up with intense white and yellow florals. After a bit, it takes on a fruity floral powdery character and mellows out a bit. It dries down to a sweet powdery musk. It has a hint of clean white musk in the background, especially as it wafts outside in the breeze, but not like a laundry detergent. I don’t pick out any specific flower or fruit. The honey isn’t too strong. The heliotrope doesn’t smell like play-doh. It’s all really lovely. I would choose this more as an everyday perfume rather than a special occasion, but I could see it worn on a wedding day in the Spring, especially if held outdoors. The longevity doesn’t seem great on skin, but I’m trying from a dabber sample, so that could be why. I’d like to smell this on clothes, but not from a dabber.

If you've been looking for a fragrance with a note that smells like a real mimosa (the type with pink silky flowers), this is it. Mimosa is the first thing that hit my nose and made me so happy. I can also catch orange blossom and a little heliotrope. These are all some of my favorite florals all together, and it's just happy-making. I tried this one in fall, and it works just fine. The orris root in this one doesn't turn it powdery but more fluffy and airy. Hyde Park is not the park for this fairy tale. It feels more fairy-like than that.

If they made a springy floral flanker of Hypnotic Poison it would smell like this. Lots of sunny yellow florals, a little powdery but not a heavy dry powder (I often don't get along with heavily powdery mimosa, but I love this one), lots of very almondy heliotrope, floral nectar sweet but not syrupy or cloying, a barely sweetened and fluffy rather than warm vanilla base. I get some pretty impressive 12+ longevity out of this one too - which this house is very hit or miss about.

I keep waiting for more eloquent words to describe this scent, but the truth is simple--it is happiness in a bottle. An entire season of flowers blooming at once without the allergies, and a couple sprays last for well over 24 hours. This has to be one of the best smelling things in the world, and I am so grateful to this community for leading me to it. This heals my soul.

Aptly named, this one. So well blended it is difficult to pin down individual notes. Achingly beautiful yellow florals swirled with honey for the opening. I am more into spicy amber scents, but this? This is absolutely captivating! FBW for me ASAP.

You have to like mimosa to like this. Luckily I do and find this very naturalistic-smelling. Some white and purple florals at the fringes, with some stems, and very powdery. Screams spring to me.

A Sorta Fairytale In Hyde Park Strangers Parfumerie (Store test, skin test, Rebellion, thank you for gentle reminder) Very beautiful Mimosa with floral support. Clean and powdery. Floral in this seamlessly merge with Mimosa. I feel like yeah, this is Mimosa scent. but the floral. Always support the Mimosa, never take font stage but it blooms. And it bring your attention from Mimosa. But when you about to focus at Floral, it throw you back at Mimosa. It is end with clean a little bit fluffily white musk. This one reminds me of "Sliver needle tea from Jo Malone" a bit. But Mimosa is stronger, this one has body than Sliver needle tea. No idea if I will add this to collection. I really like this blends, but I kinda want one that merge with Violet/Iris instead. Gotta try Touche Finale by Jovoy first, then I might come back to this. This is not yet ideal for my Mimosa scent as of now. But this is definitely beautiful sweet spring mimosa one. :) 8/10

Sampling Strangers Parfumerie – A Sorta Fairytale in Hyde Park, obtained as part of a Discovery Set from Luckyscent with spray samples, though I supplemented this with other individual dabber samples as well. This fragrance smells like a mélange of yellow florals (mimosa, narcissus, heliotrope) with a nectar-like quality of honey, amber, and vanilla, tamed by a fresh, green, fruity quality in the background. It very much conjures the current spring season where I’m located, where warm days and vegetation peek through the cold. I think it’s a fairly agreeable, unisex (albeit slightly feminine-leaning) floral-forward fragrance that has a nice place in the collection. Like the rest of the collection with EDP concentration, ASFIHP is priced at $80 for 30ml, and is sold at Luckyscent and Indiescents in North America. 7 out of 10

I agree with the commenter below that there is something in this that reminds me of designer perfume I’ve smelled. I can’t put my finger on which, but as soon as I dabbed on the sample I was reminded of Neiman Marcus. I do like how this smells a lot, but I don’t think I’d wear it. It’s a little too suffocating with the rich florals and almost gourmand honey sweetness. It’s a very joyful fragrance. I’d like to smell it but not to smell like it.

This is such a pretty, simple, spring-like fragrance. A soft blend of powdery yellow florals with a light touch of honey--nothing cloying. It lasts a surprisingly long time on me. I sprayed it on my nape and wrists around 8 am this morning and I'm still catching whiffs of it over twelve hours later.

Heavily honeyed mimosa and narcissus bouquet that manages to joyfully stroll through narcissus in a youthful way.

opening feels like a bunch of pollen dumped in your face (especially with the deep orange-yellow color of the juice). after about 30 minutes it lightens up and is more fruity and stemmy, but still stays very powdery. don't get any honey from my sample--this is straight yellow florals! first time i tested, i remember it smelling sour--like rotting petals after heavy rain--but this second time around i don't get that at all. very pretty and realistic, but ultimately not for me!

Incense floral with a rich honey backing. In the dry-down I was surprised to find the incense note! Though it's not quite Incense?? It's this dank amber accord that you'd get at the back of an old home (I think it stems from the Orris). The whole perfume is relatively heavy in comparison to other florals. It reminds me of my 2nd grade caretaker as well which ruins it for me but as far as florals go I've definitely smelled worse. Wouldn't hurt to try it out.

Nice soapy yellow floral. Well-blended, powdery, and not too sweet. I expected something far more exciting based on the notes, but it is refreshing to find such a realistic smelling floral blend when candied florals are so popular. Good performance as well. But when there are so many better fragrances out there I don’t see why anyone would reach for this.

I got a sample of this and was excited to try it. One hour in, it still smells exactly like Mr. Bubble bubble bath. Not really what I was hoping for, but it isn’t unpleasant. Just very soapy and clean smelling in my opinion and not as special as I’d hoped.

Heavy on mimosa baby powder. No thank you

I seem to be the outlier, but this perfume really missed the mark for me. Maybe it just doesn't work with my body chemistry, but I never got the fruitiness or floral notes from this fragrance. Instead, it ended up smelling like someone spilled some baby powder in a musty attic. There's also a bit of a sour note in there as well that's quite unpleasant. I honestly can't speak to the longevity of this perfume, as I had to scrub it off after three hours because of the sourness. However, the projection seems to be pretty good, as I only dabbed a very small amount on one arm, and I could easily smell it during the entire three hours I had it on.

Funny how negative reviews “disappear” on here. In any case, when I first got this scent and disliked it quite a bit, and wrote a negative review on the lack of value for the price. However, I came back to it and it seems to have settled a bit and isn’t bad now. I still don’t love it, but I can wear it and enjoy it a bit. I think I’m a white floral person, not a yellow floral, but this is nice as yellow florals go.

The yellow floral comes off STRONG. Almost overpowering everything else, I didn't get any peach or honey. Just very strong mimosa that reads more as baby powder to me, I was trying to scrub it off. Maybe it's just my sample but it is absolutely cloying for me. Strong no.

I did not like this, though I expected to with notes like these. Bizarrely artificial and cloying for some reason, maybe it is the honey?
