Sangre Dulce

Today I am tasting the sangre dulce and it is giving me a tremendous feeling of love and hate. I love It because I love the scent. Flavored red fruits on an intense and animal base centered on the civet. It reminds me quite of Transilvania de calaj. The hate part comes from the performance side. If it had a little more longevity and projection, it would be a perfect perfume for me, out of 10. This not so good performance means that, although I love perfume, I can only give it a very high note, and that is that on my skin it does not last more than 5 hours with a very short projection. The fragrance is unisex and, given its slight intensity, I see it wearable in any situation. Of course, it is a rich and delicious aroma but not very elegant, so on occasions that require great seriousness it is probably not my first option. I hope to try more perfumes from this brand. Generally, the South East Asian flavours of Prin Lomros' creations sing to my soul. The familiar smells of my childhood - my mother's cooking, her herb garden, the herbal medicinal scents of traditional medicines and temple (not church) incense - are so evocative and full of comfort to me. I find it in so many of his fragrances and I love it for how it makes me feel. Sangre Dulce is no different. A sweet, softly spicy gourmand with some dusky animalic scent (the civet?) and a bitter medicinal herbal undertone (genuinely smells of a traditional Thai medicinal tonic) that would no doubt be the dividing note in whether this is love or hate for the wearer. I prefer not to bury my nose in it but I love the wafts of scent I catch as I move through my evening. For me, it's an evening scent in the cooler months, unique and complex like everything Prin does. In case you can't tell, I love this one.

I feel as though I'm in the minority when I say this is a very thick scent that slowly rolls past the sticky sweetness from the syrup and sangria towards something full of skank. It's not pissy, sour, or the like on me thankfully, and I don't think it smells like Transylvania at all. The former, wore terribly on me and was this stale and sour scent where Sangre Dulce is that sweet, thickened blood. Sangre Dulce is being fat on wine at night, A candle lit bar, and a brown mink coat. It's a femme fatale too tired to do anything mischievous or cunning anymore. She mixes cherry soda with cheap wine and pairs it off with a cigarette in a pinch. Just lovely.

One of the best civet perfumes. The opening is very pleasant, sweet and fruity. The sangria note is quite noticeable. It’s sweet but not overly sweet, so it can even be worn in spring. The civet blends very well with the sweet notes. One of, if not the best perfume I’ve ever smelled. I recommend it to everyone.

This has the same spirit as the now devastatingly discontinued Magenta Pop. The fruity animalic genre is a deeply underappreciated genre, and this is another sublime addition. I do still admittedly prefer Magenta Pop though. Please Prin bring it back I need another bottle!

Opening is bitterish and sweet - something that would be Chypre-ish but there isn’t any bergamot that I can perceive. It’s delicious but not gourmand in a cloying way. It continues being a sweet-and-bitter concoction that is very unusual and pleasant.

Just seen the comment below describe this as having "no real lasting power" My god your nose must be broken. Like many other Prin fragrances this lasts DAYS on skin.

This is the devil's candy. It's sweet, but there's something very sinister about it. On my skin, I smell brown sugar, tobacco, wood, and civet. I like this one very much. It has excellent performance for me, so I use it sparingly. I would say this should be worn at night when the devil wants to play.

Syrup. Tobacco. Bit of smoke. Some kind of fruit in the base. Delicious.

finally tried a sample of this after being intrigued by the reviews likening it to a strip club for vampires & pre-rabies racoons in a hot summer garbage can full of fruit. this perfume is very intriguing but also very confusing .. it cycles through so many scents. on the initial spray its very oxidised old perfume, really patchouli heavy with something spicy & cinnamon & vodka, and a fruity sweet (very faint) undertone, like someone has just walked past with stale donuts. the initial spray is fine i guess? overwhelmingly strong & not something i would love to wear. as its drying down more of the cinnamon comes through & it starts to take on a powdery quality, with something clean & fresh like baby wipes, some kind of musky smell, occasionally bordering on men’s deodorant. at this point i think it smelled most like wood polish. the final dry down is a very creamy, powdery fresh linen. something you might smell in a waiting room as an air-freshener—inoffensive and forgettable. ultimately this goes on an interesting journey but has no real lasting power & not much excitement past the initial confusion of trying to pin down what it smells like

syrupy sangaree dribbling down quivering lips. sanguinary eucharist, blood-red wine. glistening forehead blessed with ashen cross. stovetop molasses: southern deer-attractant. incense melting onto hot sand. berries from a bush as makeshift lipstick. warm wassail, gnawing on cinnamon bark, yuletide yearning. anele the hysteric intoxicated on amorous ardor. a footing of deadnettle brings forth memories of fluttering through serpentine aisles of patchoulic headshops. so sweet, so smoky, so dense. songs for sangre dulce: shower me with lipstick by ariel pink's haunted graffiti, the candle's burning out by the surprise party, the ashy front by l'eponge synthetique.

There is so many beautiful notes on this perfume, and yet I feel overpowered by a powdery rose scent. It smells old. Must admit the end result is too classic for my liking. I remember the grandmas smelling like this on my childhood, and though they might not be similar at all, it reminds me of perfumes in line with Estee Lauder Youth dew, Giorgio Beverly Hills or Nina L'air du temps. It just evokes the same feeling... homey and feminine, but not for me.

This is the first fragrance that actually smells like piss on my skin. Not like a fresh piss, but like poorly maintained public restroom. It is awful, but I actually find it quite amusing, haven't smelled something like that on my skin till now :D

need to smell again knowing it's based off of climax (2018) which i love. just kind of generally sweet didn't get the crimson-colored smell like i wanted.

Smells like a family of 7 cute fat fluffy raccoons feasting on a plethora of mushy fruits and pastries from a Whole Foods garbage can on a hot summer day. One of the raccoons, the fattest one, suffers pre rabies symptoms.

I've never found a scent disgusting before, but this smells exactly like the inside of the women's washroom.

Open - slight peppery note, sweetness/vanilla/brown sugar, some bitterness that permeates everything (not in a bad way) and helps to keep it from going too sickly sweet; perhaps from the blood orange, cinnamon. Something a bit animalistic - perhaps the ylang ylang and patchouli notes. Feedback on open - positive, a pleasant smell. Dry down - improvement in my opinion, sweetness still dominates, asian/eastern herbal note (that I don't like), vanilla tonka-bean creaminess and chocolate. Feminine leaning as opposed to unisex. Not a bad smell but again the Asian/eastern herbal note that I have found in quite a few of the 'Strangers' collection just doesn't suit me and puts me off. Second dry down (7-10 hours) Sits much closer to the skin but can still clearly be noticed. Eastern herbal note has faded to the background now and it finishes off with a soapy, powdery, pleasant, clean smell. Longevity - excellent. We're talking 10+ hours. As with all of Prins creations this is a complex and expertly crafted fragrance.

Sweet, almost slightly overcooked caramelising fruit scent, leads off, with an un-ignorable pissy note hovering around the edges. Quite pungent for the first hour or so, and if you can live with the animalic note it - perhaps strangely - actually reminds me a lot of something classic like No 5. Drydown is very nice, and was still on my skin 12 hours later. If the inspiration is Gaspar Noe's movies then the stink of bodies is highly appropriate. In looking forward, with its stated intent to an avant-garde future, it feels like it is treading lightly in many classic steps. I actually like it a lot.

As a few others have experienced, this is jarringly evocative of a women's restroom in need of a good clean. It smelled that way in the sample vial, so I decided to wear it around for a bit. No improvement. Civet regardless, I would assume there's a strong variable of individual chemistry here as well, since I just can't imagine what I'm smelling would appeal to anyone, even with a more refined and/or adventurous nose than mine. Try it in the hopes that it plays as well for you as it seems to for many other reviewers.

Sangre Dulce is based on Gaspar Noe's latest film Climax, which I watched while waiting for my sample to arrive, so I was expecting a dark, fruity, spiked bowl of intoxicants. My first impression is the sticky resinous scent of an esoteric store, sweet and a bit smoky. Not quite as devilish and dynamic as I was hoping, though I think a heavier application is required to get a better idea of this frag. Not an immediate love, but I'm curious to revisit.

before i even looked at the notes, i thought 'amora' by hendley. hendley's 'sweetened strawberry' speaks to me much more than this, however, i do feel that this has more going on in it than amora. sangre dulce, whilst not as attractive as amora, has many more working components in it, which trigger intrigue, however, overall, whilst both are pleasant scents, the rose and 'overkill sweet' work against this one, unfortunately...

This is a summer scent for sure. Weird that its not rated by most that way, but for me, I didn't really appreciate it till then. In the summer, the fruity, sensual, gourmand vibes outweigh the animalic ones, which did seem to dominate in cooler months. Just to say that you may want to wait to try this in various seasons before making a final call.

It's got a very resiny generally sweet but otherwise indiscernible smell that I find a lot of "indie" perfumers like Imaginary Authors have trouble with where all their fragrances smell sort of the same. It's okay but nothing mind-blowing.
