Sweet Farewell

A perfect, deliciously oven-crisp tuile biscuit somehow confected from brown, lightly caramelised sugar, rice flour toasted just right to immaculate nuttiness, and well-bronzed grated coconut brought to the ideal point between raw and burnt. By far the sweetest, brownest, and most gourmand of Prin's amazing suite of things in this area (Sweet Celestials, Chokedee, Lom Hom Khao Hom) - and for that reason, the most surprisingly delicious to me, as anything this edible-seeming often puts me off. Here, no problem whatsoever - there's enough rasp of darker woodiness and leafiness to offset the sweet-tooth baked goodness, and make it un-cliched and enjoyable even if coconut cake is usually a demon to you. It's deeply comfortable and gentle natured, yet never gets too cute. Vanilla fortunately held in check, and while it's very perceptibly there, not allowed to dominate entirely. The toasted rice note at the top is absolutely amazing - strongest for the first 45 minutes or so: its impression of freshly-heated grains in a pan is just incredible - a triumph of cereal imitation in scent. So much so that it's a shame it dies back later on - and yet it's still something to rejoice in even many hours later, when a slight rise in your body temperature can bring it back from slumber to surge back with more force. Ebony wood note gives it a kick of almost-clove, almost-pepper to play with. Longevity overall is impressive at 10h+ and its initial presence is bossy - well across a room - for anyone with vanilla-boosting skin chemistry. Does better yet on skin that's well moisturised rather than dry. Just wonderful for a cold winter's day in the north, to remind you that warmer, mellower spaces exist it in this world; or for anyone anywhere seeking a coconut-centric experience that doesn't lapse into beach-lotion cliche. This one, instead, asks the question: Prin Lomros, master parfumeur or king patissier? On the basis of Sweet Farewell, he'd fare just as well on either career track, with his great nose, fine palate and cool hand. Very finely judged indeed.

Really annoys me that people keep saying it’s a winter scent when this needs ur hot sweaty body to cook it right. I have rejected it all through these last few colder months bc it smells so synthetic in the cold. I started wondering if I was delusional in my love for it when I bought it last summer. Or if my bottle got rotten. I’ve bought way too many full bottles recently and started getting paranoid that they’d go bad before I even get to enjoy them but no I was wrong it just needed heat. Super hot days here lately so I tried it and the smell I love came back to me. The palm leaves are super strong on me and that’s what makes this the perfect tropical scent to me that isn’t a mango or pineapple bomb. And those are my favorite fruits but cannot stand them in perfume. Funny that I say that tho bc I used to mix this with salted green mango from the same person who made this and the combo was so gorgeous but that’s bc that mango smells much greener and like not fully ripe and that restrains it’s sweetness. But yeah U should try mixing them

What a lovely surprise! The initial blast was a little greener and less dessert-like but it settles into such a warm coconut rice scent. Desserts from east Asia typically aren’t super sweet like you’d find in the west and I would say this stays true to that. In the dry down I detect a soft salty lime and coconut note, almost like BBW’s coconut lime verbena but much softer and better executed. While the notes make it seem like it’d be really similar to chokedee, they’re completely different. Chokedee is much heavier, with all the notes blending together to smell like a beach artificial banana (again, not entirely a bad thing but just not what I was expecting) and it dries down to a very strong white floral. Sweet Farewells is a much lighter dessert smell, with the green freshness coming through and coconut and rice delicately sweetened by some palm sugar. I ended up purchasing a full bottle after sampling it. Love!

Sweet farewell is Sweet slightly green and creamy fragrance mostly from coconut,Pandan leaves ,vanilla and rice very delicated ,comforting and light almost skin scent to me this is more like a coconut rice pudding that kind of smell that will calm and comfort you. But very much different than Chokedee even they both have some notes that similar but Chokedee is basically steamed coconut sticky rice(bread flower note in this fragrance its name Chommanard in Thai smell basically just like steamed rice)with jasmine water and pandan Leaves is basically more depth,more floral and last longer than sweet farewell. I am in honor to owned both and compared them side by side ,their both lovely and smell very yummy for a Thai dessert lover like me LoL! So this is my no calorie treats.

I instantly loved the sample! However, the first couple of times I tried it, it didn’t last very long so I decided not to buy a full bottle. After revisiting it, it now has a more longevity??? Now I’m definitely going to buy a full size to be my summer fragrance (although I feel like it can be worn in any season). To me, it smells like steamed white rice with creamy toasted coconut including the woodiness of the husk and baking in the sun next to the ocean. I’ve been looking for a coconut fragrance that reminded me of the beach and didn’t smell like sunscreen, and this is it!

this is genuinely one of my favorite scents I’ve ever owned. It’s a masterpiece of coziness and a beautiful blend of notes. This smells like a woody, toasted rice pudding with earthy accords and sweet vanilla. As this opens you get a toasty palm sugar, creamy tonka bean, and sweet earthy woods. The coconut milk here is creamy and condensed, mixed with a steamed rice and a grassy, nutty vanilla coming from the pandanus. You get a sweet and cozy cashmere musk with ebony and cedar woods on the dry down. Prin Lomros makes amazing things and this is no exception.

Toasty coconut, pandan syrup, and rice powder. Fun and cute summer scent for the gourmand lover!! Just the right amount of coconut for me, not too sharp/tropical fruit-y, more so creamy and smooth. The lasting power surprised me also... I had a decant in a blotter style bottle & found the scent wasn't lasting very long, but was gifted a full bottle and the atomizer changed the lasting power so much lol it lasts all day on me now. Def very similar to Sweet Celestials just minus the florals

I really wish this scent came in 100 ML I like it so much. It's a very cozy scent - coconut forward sweet but nothing like suntan lotion. It's the rice that makes it for me, the sweetness of the rice is right on - it reminds me of the smell of jasmine rice in a rice cooker. But with palm sugar. It lasts for a long time on clothes. Really really really nice sweet coconut, palm sugar and rice. 10/10 for me. I've mainly worn it in the winter but I think it could work in warmer weather too.

a very gourmandy scent. definitely sweet. but the biggest takeaway here is the pandan and coconut. such a nostalgic scent for me, as i am southeast asian and this reminds of the desserts my family make. sillage is pretty good in the first 15 min but it definitely dies down. longevity is really good. i dont mind the intimate sillage as i wear this mostly as a comfort/at-home fragrance. all east/southeast asian ppl should give this one a shot. truly an inspiring fragrance!

this scent is sooo beautiful. it is a soft, sweet, coconut rice scent with some lingering greenery. the coconut is not at all cloying or sunscreeny. the scent is powdery, but not overly so. it wears fairly close to the skin, but lasted all day and wore down to a very soft skin-like musk. i'm not huge on musks or powdery scents, but this one might be too beautiful to skip out on.

I am completely taken by this one. I found this on my search for a rice fragrance and I tried multiple others. I have to say I do not think that this one, Sweet Celestials, and Chokedee are all that similar. To my nose, this one is the best. It stays on me the longest as well. I wish this came in body care products and shampoo and laundry detergent. I love love love this.

Woaaaahh there's something so cool happening here. It's truly sweet and coconutty, has a lovely creamy quality. There's also something floral/soapy in this as well. I am not sure where it's coming from but it's sooo nice. The projection on this is pretty strong and purely coconut cream in the best wayyyy. 9/10 (because I don't like the floral note up close lol)!

Sweet Farewell is a very cozy woody gourmand. Not too sweet, which I love. I've never had kanom jaak but it does really evoke a dessert grilled on palm leaves. It's very comforting and warm and great for fall or winter. I've been in search of fragrances with a good rice note and I think this has one of the best ones I've smelled, especially in the opening.

I’m obsessed with this. It’s what made me realize I actually love gourmands. It’s a sweet creamy ricey fragrance that is so cozy but not cloying. It has that sort of “playdough” quality that is definitely really weird but I love. EDIT: I sampled Juliette has a Gun Sunny Side up and they smell extremely similar

I agree with the reviewer below...this is absolutely a summer scent. I wish it projected more and lasted longer than 10 minutes on my skin. It smells a lot like Sorcellerie Apothecary A Party Or Something and that one lasts and projects. And it's a little bit cheaper so I'll stick with that one.

Lovely fragrance. I have added it to my list. I am very impressed with all the fragrances from this house. If you have ever tried Lost Alice by Masque Milano, this fragrance smells very similar. It's the rice/coconut combo. They're not dupes, you can definitely have both.

Gorgeous frag. I get a blast of that spicy woody vanilla in the open (reminds me of raghba lattafa but with enormous longevity) theres an edge to it in the mid where the tea softens everything and the coconut peeks through. perfect summer night gourmand.

I have a sample of this. All I really smell is a vague sweetness that I have to have my nose right on top of where I applied it to smell. Other than that, I can't write a review because I can't smell anything. Shame because the notes look amazing.

Soft, sweet, serene and so comforting. Sweet farewell is a scent which hugs you in a sweet coconut and pandan blanket. It smells like how Kanom Jaak tastes. It’s just wonderful I 100% recommend this. It’s a safe blind buy to coconut lovers.

I literally said holy shit after one whiff of this. Photorealistic coconut rice notes instantly. It immediately took me back to being a kid and eating che thai which is a vietnamese coconut milk/jelly dessert.

I got multiple testers as a gift and this is my favourite. Starts off fresh airy rice with a small touch of lime, then goes towards a soft creamy coconut lotion.

Gorgeous. Signature scent worthy. Warm, comforting and happy. A smell that wafts beautifully and will draw people into your orbit. Present but not overpowering.

super good gourmand, will be wearing 30 sprays of this on the first day of school (if I can’t wear 30 sprays of followed)

Well, this is fun. Must be date night? Like a sweet buttered popcorn made with floral essence, the opening was joyful, sweet, and buttery! This plot did get thicker, or thin out, (depending on your character development expectations). While the sweetness dies down considerably (but does not disappear) it is replaced by a warm wood with a hint of muskiness (or something a little funky to keep things moving along). I am watching this play out blind. I Haven't even seen the trailer. Only looking at the credits now do things become a bit more clear. The Palm Sugar, Rice, Coconut, and Vanilla do account for the opening sequence, which in rewatching is more toasted brown rice tea, with a bit of milk and sugar over popcorn. Maybe sweet roasted rice popcorn? This movie snack sweetness is balanced by the Pandanus and Palm Leaf, giving a bit of green brightness. And while the woods are also hintly there, they take over the screen in a restraining development, accompanied by the Musk and other usual suspects a bit later. And while the opening to closing of the first act is sweet and may make some feel this must be a chic flick, that's all in your head. Sitting through the whole thing without predetermined judgement it feels pretty unisex if not leaning a bit mature and masculine as the wood takes over. Similar too is the projection, with a big fun opening, it was more of a skin scent for three-quarters of its run. So, if you were hoping this would be fun and sweet all the way through, it might disappoint. But, if a more low+key indie feel where things never end as expected is your favorite fiction, maybe hit play. This was an enjoyable experience, and like any good movie so much more enjoyable walking in completely blind.

I blind bought Sweet Celestials because I couldn’t find any testers and read it was sweeter than Sweet Farewell. It isn’t! These are two massively different scents, despite the notes appearing similar. Sweet Farewell opens with a blast of sweetness from the coconut sugar. The vanilla then joins in, followed by the coconut and rice. This is much sweeter than Sweet Celestials! As it dries down further I do get coconut rice and while it isn’t listed, I do also get a slight creamy hint of fig. I ended up buying this one as much prefer it to Sweet Celestials! I love it! 10/10 for the scent. Sweet Celestials is a LOT more complex and an acquired taste. It opens with a strong, bright, fresh, leafy, young green banana type of vibe. The rice note joins in and it does smell as though the rice is wrapped in the leaves. I then start to get a hint of Lemongrass (although not listed) but it’s only brief. These notes do soften and sit in the background after a few minutes. The rice becomes a bit stronger and starchy, and the sandalwood and musk appear at this stage. I actually quite enjoy the scent up to now, however ..... in the far dry down any sweetness has disappeared and you're left with the scent of savoury rice/food, which becomes a lot stronger as it warms on your skin. It’s interesting. I absolutely wouldn’t have bought it, had I been able to test it first. 10/10 for originality, 7/10 for the majority of the scent.... 1/10 for the far dry down, which makes this completely unwearable for me. If you like sweet rice fragrances, definitely go for Sweet Farewell. If you like the sound a savoury rice with green vanilla, then go for Sweet Celestials.

Felt like an amalgamation of every comforting south east asian dessert into one and transformed into something out of grand Michelin star restaurant. Invigorating and mouth watering while lingering gently like drinking Cendol in everlasting summery heat, with your sweat and green rind covering you from the sun. Pandan mostly takes the centre stage on holding the nuttiness of coconut, umami-like sweetness of palm sugar that prevents either of those base into something overpowering in the beginning of the fragrance, but after like 1-2 hours of those gourmand goodness it devolves into more of a basic musky vanilla - makes it a good skin scent that didn't attempt to be much sweet but akin to arranging the memories behind those dessert. Considering Prim Lormos himself making quite a lot of similar fragrance to this but with different take and orientation himself like Chokedee, I'm eager to check them out next

This is a nice gourmand woody scent. I get a lot of the pandan note throughout the wear in which I really love. Pandan is one of my favorite dessert flavor, so it's comforting for me to smell. There is also coconut, but the coconut is a lot subddue, mostly it comes off as a sweet milky scent. It does mildly smell like sunscreen though, but it's something that I don't mind. I first smelled this on paper and thought it was like a sweet coconut milk scent, and that was what drew me in. I'm honestly pleasantly surprised about how much I like this scent. But where is the sillage though?? I'm not sure if I'm being conservative with the sprays because I'm using a sample, but it's pretty much sits very close to my skin. I wish the sillage was larger, but the longevity is decently good. I first sprayed it at 6pm and woke up 8am the next day and can still smell the base notes.

I'd never quite understood the talk of spraying perfume on yourself before bed until trying out this fragrance. I'm not a huge gourmand fan but I could wear this any day and be perfectly happy with it- I think it's just all around sweet (while not TOO sweet), and the coconut and rice blend with the vanilla enough to make it work. Lasted all day and any time I walked into a particularly cold room at work I got a new blast of it wafting up at me. Not sure if I would label it a winter fragrance, though. This and Salted Green Mangoes take your assumptions and conventional fragrance profiles and turn them on their head while still being satisfying and mass-appealing enough to wear to work.

This opens with a buttery coconut and sticky rice, which lends to a slightly savory vibe. As it develops I get the palm leaf, which cuts the sweetness a bit. There is something a bit soapy about this, which again, keeps this from going too sweet. This is in the same vein as Chokedee from this same house (I believe a Lucky Scent exclusive), but the Chokedee is not as sweet and has more florals mixed in. I prefer Chokedee, but this would be a decent alternative if you can't get your hands on it; I would say they could be siblings. This actually reminds me quite a bit of the Method Coconut, Rice Milk, and Shea butter line of body care. Performance on this is fantastic- lasts all day.

This is Chokedee's more toned-down, woody sister. I lean more towards the cheery, syrupy banana/yellow floral note in Chokedee, but depending on the day and mood, it can be too loud. The more subdued wood notes and dry greenness of Sweet Farewell are perfect for a different vibe—it smells like a sweet coconut sticky rice dessert served on a lightly grilled palm leaf. I am a sucker for pandan and rice notes, and Prin Lomros really kills it in both Chokedee and Sweet Farewell. Based on my own opinions and the stats below, this is also a strong contender for a unique everyday perfume.

this is a photorealistic toasted coconut and the sweet, almost buttery creaminess that comes with it. made me want to seek out more perfumes with a palm sugar note. ive only worn this in the summer so far, and it’s just as incredible in the heat and humidity as everyone says, when it can mix with your sweat a little and radiate off your skin. edit: i wore this yesterday when it turned out to be less hot and humid than predicted, and it really fell flat compared to its performance in the sticky heat. definitely a height of summer fragrance.

Smells like kheer at the start. Interesting, how a fragrance can smell "warm". Very sweet, which would likely put a lot of people off, but I would deem it safe as an office scent. I get the coconut, and happily it's a thick coconut cream, rather than a watery sunscreen (which I don't enjoy). It's grounded (which must be the wood), and I would enjoy smelling this on a guy (and myself, a girl). A bit tiresome by the end, but (good, in this instance!) doesn't last nearly as long as some Strangers scents I have tried.

Sigh... I am so torn on this one. At first, I almost dismissed it for it's slightly play dough opening. That and I got none of the coconut I had expected. BUT- the rice powder note is impeccable and lingers beautifully throughout the fragrance into the dry down. It isn't quite enough to hide the otherwise generic musky vanillic ending which is so soft I can barely detect it after 3 hours and yet I can't stop sniffing my wrist. I may revisit this on in the warmer weather to see how it changes.

Rice pudding, coconut sugar, palm leaves and woody vanilla. Lovely. Definitely some sort of south Asia treasure that makes you travel across the globe. This is a quite concentrated perfume and I can smell this one all day on my skin. No strong silage but it stays with you all day long. I also love the fact that it is produced in Bangkok, Thailand. I'm definitely interested in trying more perfumes from that brand.

Warm sweet creamy rice. Comforting, cosy. A loving grandmother is preparing food while you sit cuddled into a soft blanket, drinking chai, next to a table covered with big green pandanus leaves. A warm wind is blowing through the tropical forest outside; you are so safe and cared for here.

Sticky sweet rice and pandan quite distinctly at the start but dries to a sweet vanilla musk which is less interesting. Creative take on a rice gourmand. Was hoping to wear this in Thailand but it’s a bit too sweet for the heat and dries sweet bland vanilla which is so so.

it's cute! sweet and a bit green/earthy. usually not a huge fan of woody scents but it works here. not sure if it stands out enough to buy, still on the fence about that, but it's my favorite from strangers parfumerie so far.

so so lovely... very woody, powdery in this rice-like way, the coconut is there but its not too overpowering! its sweet but not too sweet. sadly, this doesnt hold very well on my skin, there's close to no projection.

This is a very well done "sweet coconut rice" kind of scent, not too sweet, not too powdery. It's just right. And I say this as someone who dislikes both coconut and gourmand fragrances :D It's good.

Heartily realistic pandan and coconut rice, lovely for everyday wear. Looking forward to wearing this one in summer as a tropical alternative to a standard vanilla.

Starchy, sticky, perfect sweet rice scent. Does well in humidity (makes sense being a Thai dessert), but it’s pleasant and cozy in cool temps too.

Beautiful everyday kind of scent, I can totally see myself wearing this... if only it lasted longer, it would've been a perfect neutral scent. Still, it’s my favorite of the pandan scents from the brand, as it’s the most authentic to the actual smell of pandan cake. Among the pandan-themed fragrances from Strangers Parfumerie, Sweet Farewell stands out as the most pandan-forward of the bunch, more so than Chokedee, especially on skin. It smells like the soft milky vanilla-like warmth of pandan with a dash of coconut, rice, and a toasty nuttiness, very similar to taro. It leans tropical, but not in the fruity-cocktail way, and more like freshly watered grass after a morning rain and a steaming hot pandan cake straight from the oven. It is green, toasty, and warm. The significant drawback for me is the performance.Like Chokedee, the longevity is poor, and sillage is minimal unless heavily applied. I have to practically bathe in it to get any projection, and I like my fragrances to be noticeable without having to drench myself in them. It doesn't stick to my skin. 8 minutes in and it’s completely gone. It’s almost as if this scent was tested only on paper, not on skin. I truly wish it had more power, because the scent itself is a cozy southeast asian tropical scent.

I have mixed feelings about this one. On its opening I was immediately reminded of Soft by Poesie which happens to be my favorite perfume of all time. But unfortunately it quickly settled into this odd green vanilla mess. It leans too sweet for my taste and I cannot put a finger on what exactly is throwing me off about it so much. I think what's off putting to me is the green note, but every time I've tried something from this house, it's always been a headache inducing level of strong. Maybe it's the fact they're in sample form but it's just not for me.

Hmm I wanted to like this but it smelled better on the test strip than on my skin. It’s darker and woodier than sweet celestials with quite a bit of vanilla. Unfortunately I smelled this plastic note which clashed badly with the vanilla and pandan. Someone said this smelled good on me and asked if there was vetiver, I’m guessing that’s the cedar/ebony tree coming through. Skin chemistry is weird.

A perfume with a high sweetness. The top note is very similar to Maison Margiela Jazz Club without the Rum. After the DRYDOWN, the scents of plum sugar and coconut milk emerge. The coconut milk is sweetened, and the pandanus naturally has a sweet coconut scent. All of these elements come together to elevate the overall sweetness to another level. This perfume is more suitable for winter wear.
