Sulmona Essenza Eau de Parfum

Compared to Cubano, I find Confetto more appealing and realistic smelling. Yes, these are both gourmands, one more boozy, chocolate and cinnamon heavy and this is like a almondy, vanilla, warm floral heart, with citrus notes in the opening to give it brightness. A truly nice balanced composition! I would say that Confetto is a dream scent for almond lovers. I love how smooth and creamy the almond note is here and the addition of rose, ylang ylang and jasmine adds a beautiful contrast as the citruses do. I have tested Confetto by Profumum Roma in 2022 during a Rome trip, but I can’t remember with precision if these two scents are indeed similar, like some people suggests here, in the reminds me of section. Also, I just bought Prada’s Infusion d’Amande about a month ago, so I am not actively looking for an almond forward perfume. But if I would, this would be the one for me. I really love Confetto and it’s reasonably priced for the quality and performance.

Confetto in Italian translates to sugared almonds and this is exactly that-- Jordan almonds to a T! Apparently the creator grew up in Sulmona, which is the world capital of Jordan Almond manufacturing. I have nothing but positive associations with Jordan Almonds(weddings, baby showers, etc) and could happily smell like them daily. It's elegant, celebratory, and timeless. Unfortunately my husband picks up on a "root beer" smell that is unpleasant to him so it's a no go. Another reviewer mentioned the childhood glue paste used for art which I think is the same smell. Lastly I would like to mention I love almonds and I was starting to think I will never like almond in a perfume, until this one. I'm excited to try another perfume from this house.

The name of this perfume is Confetto. This is a really unique fragrance and nostalgic for me. It reminds me of amaretto liqueur on the initial spray, then an 80’s American black grape candy scent which mellows down into the slightly powdery sugared almond. I absolutely love it. It is so unique I’ve already ordered a full bottle. I will also say there’s no marshmallow about this to me, this is straight up sugared almonds. Stunning! I also love the Cubano fragrance from Sulmona which smells of rum truffles with a beautiful comforting dry down. Definitely recommend trying both of these

So few reviews on this one and my experience is very different than the review below, so just wanted to share my POV as it's one of my favorite fragrances. This is powdered sugary jordan almond goodness. With light florals in the background to keep it airy and from being overly sweet. I'd say it's moderate to above moderate projection and I get great longevity of about 8 hours. As a bonus, if you've seen bridesmaids, this smell will randomly remind you of the scene in Bridesmaids with Kristen Wiig and you'll have random fits of laughter.

A sweet almond tart. Absolutely beautiful. On initial spray you are hit almost overpowering with almond- it smells like amaretto liqueur.
