Aurum d'Angkhor

Now the oil on first application I noticed was thick as I applied it to my wrist and rubbed the scent onto my other wrist. The first note that greets you is a woody incense rose with the rose smelling luxurious and deep red. As the scent unfurls other opulent notes like saffron, ambergris, jasmine, tobacco all dance around this main rose accord. It smells very beautiful and fit for Royalty, the ingredients are breathtakingly beautiful. After about two hours the scent transforms into a dark resinous woody accord and this is where the magic happens. The Oud has come out to play and It's like your smelling a fragrance in 3D, you have dark resinous woods that are radiating spices. At the same time when you smell it you get the uplifting fruity aspect at the top end with the honey aspect and the back end with the resinous spicy woods at the centre. And because you are smelling all of the above at the same time it gives the Oud a multidimensional aspect to it's nature. Wow! To digress a little I was given a incense stick on a Sandalwood order from Pure Incense and was given this incense stick called Oud Safi and it had the same multi dimensional aspect to it. It had a uplifting candy sweetness on the front end and a deep resinous woods on the back-end but when you smelled it you smelled it all at the same time giving the scent that 3D depth effect. I hope you get my meaning. Anyway other notes start to come and go like a bloom of Jasmine, saffron out of the resinous multi dimensional Oud and it smells amazing. Eventually it transforms again and you have a swirling melange of soft spices, and this is where the Mysore Sandalwood enters centre stage and takes a bow. This swirling symphony of exotic notes mixing in with the creamy mysore is heavenly to the nose. Really holy grail material and the best smelling fragrance I have smelled in my life. And as a fragrance enthusiast it has been a honour to smell the the highest form of fragrance art, if this scent was a painting it would be a Rembrandt, if it was a musical composition it would be one of Beethovens symphony's, you get the picture. Anyway eventually the dark resinous woods come back to the forefront and dominant. A amazing achievement and absolutely gorgeous and even mystical like. Wow, I have enjoyed every moment wearing this and will guard my 1ml bottle like it's a precious rare diamond.

So I really think having corresponded with Mr. Pusha directly, that he sources much of what's in this perfume upon ordering. So I feel everyone whom orders a bottle gets something different. The opening for me was very animalistic oud and rose. After about 30 minutes it moves to the other way around, with the rose coming to the forefront. There is many other things I notice, but those 2 last three whole wear. The second part is crowd friendly, the first is not IMHO, so cool in the crib before going into the world. I'm a huge ambergris and labdanum guy, and that doesn't come into play until the dry down way into the wear. In the heart I get the tobacco and a little more sweet. The rose is Def jammy but also sharp, gorgeous to my nose. I think maybe the beginning of this review may have seemed like I'm not a big fan. The opposite is true. This is a real masterpiece. I was just letting the common nose understand this can be challenging. It's one my basic ass wife, hahaha, doesn't like. She can't take anything animalistic at. Anyone that finds this most likely is experienced anyways. I LOVE THIS ATTAR, it takes you on a journey, lasts forever, and presents about 1 arms length around you! This is indeed resplendent luxury that is "fit for a king"! I feel like I'm a denizen of the Angkhor Wat temple in the Khmer empire . . . wearing bright silks at a ceremonial dance. The Cambodian 'god-kings' with their fusion of spiritual devotion and creative ambition created the largest temple on earth. Sultan Pasha rivals them in his creation of one of the most opulent and exotic scents I've ever smelled. Golden lavish notes - jasmine that is like burying your face in a vine in full bloom, oud that oozes with burnished richness, resins and spices that would have made a man wealthy on the ancient trade routes. Only the rarest of the rare ingredients satisfy Sultan Pasha. He combs the world for the best, the most exquisite essences. His attars, made of concentrated perfume oils, expensive absolutes, CO2's, are drops of perfume ecstacy. And this one will take you to an empire in the place they call heaven on earth. Extravagant exotic beauty.

My first love from Sultan Pasha. This scent is almost painful to talk about: its beauty is beyond my power of description. Easily the most elegant and lovely floral that I own. Incredibly masculine but not in a macho way. Whenever I reach for it, I have to decide whether I can stand to lose anymore precious drops of this attar. I ask myself: Is the occasion equal to the scent? The best part of this fragrance is that it has hidden elements that sneak out and delight you. Sometimes it kicks up an oud, sometimes it kicks up smoke. But always it displays a regal, crystalline clarity that I’ve never smelled anywhere else.

Seductive jasmine, a golden warm honeyed oud, sweet earthy ambergris and citrusy smoky frankincense/lubaan. It is the best attar I have put my nose onto. The quality is exceptional, the blend is magical. Performance is good with soft projection. Thats the beauty of good quality attars. They never scream. Genuine craftsmanship that deserves the popularity it has gathered over the years. Highly recommended to those who are bored of the regular oud combos and to those who can never have enough !
