Chypre Chrysantheme

After a long time, I returned to the discovery set from Sultan Pasha and tested the last untouched samples. This particular one smells very nice to me, but I can't pinpoint anything specific. Despite the fact that I have tried many perfumes and can have a basic orientation framework, I find these compositions to be too multi-layered and complex. I feel like i need to go back again to absolutely beginning and smell the freshness of the chrysanthemum and other flowers individually and then mixed in compositions as this one. Although I would like to look at this composition as a classic perfume, I cannot claim that it smells like a classic perfume. It smells like living plants, fruits, flowers and animals. These are the types of scents that would deserve a poetic-geographical story about how a civet with a beaver and a beehive met somewhere in a flower field under a citrus tree and told each other stories and had picnic. I wanted to write a review cause i like it, but I have nothing concrete to say. It smells beautifully floral but not feminine, I wonder why the connotation of flowers is associated more with women? Because they are gifted with them? In this case, it is the scent of sweet resinous flowers that the man wears to them. This one from 31 samples is speaking to me most.

Warm chypre. If Chanel Cristalle fell in love and started a home with a garden and animals. Strong citrus opening, cold florals, mossy base, but with an undercurrent of warmth. A chypre for folks who don't like the cold. Something felt dissonant, perhaps an overdose of a synthetic. I can't tell what it is. Maybe I want Cristalle to remain cold-hearted.

I appreciate the artistry that went into making this blend but at the end of the day, it just didn’t work for me. The initial top/middle note experience was elegant and lush, but the dry down smelled like barnyard hay on my skin. Definitely wear the sample that is sent with it for several days before committing to keeping it. It probably works better on different body chemistries.

Quite a wet, moist, herbal mix that functions quite well as a floral. Though I am in NO way a fan of this, I do feel it works. The beeswax provides a solid background to this, and the chrysanthemum works well with the other florals, but I just feel it is too dank and moist for me. It feels damp, and as such, I'm not a fan.
