Our Blurry Note

Because this perfume was done for us by the skilled hands of perfumer Benjamin Sachs, CEO of French Bespoke fragrances SUPERFUMISTA, this review may come a little bias but it is not. This is a perfume that took several months to be developed so the final result was a work of trials, patience and a final confirmation of how we wanted this perfume to be. We were the ones that conceptualised the idea so Benjamin could make it happen and he delivered with absolute accuracy. There was a silly question between us (Marusa and Daniel) even before this perfume was created and It went like this: "If we make a perfume using Superfumista’s App, in which shelf will it stay? Yours? Mine?" and then the concept was born LOL The idea of “Our Blurry Note” was to create a unisex fragrance that will go through the stages of masculinity, femininity as individuals and also as a couple. A very precise concept in our heads but very challenging for the perfumer and if you think about it, a perfume that will solve the issue of our silly question about perfume shelves. So to cut to the chase, our perfume is exactly what we wanted. A complex composition that is delicate, rough and sexy at the same time. A perfume that can be worn by both genders but also making you feel that when you are together, you become one. A carnal type of vibe. This is a perfume that has a large number of notes that are blended together perfectly and we will try to explain you about it so you can have an idea of what to expect. The very beginning of this fragrance is floral and fruity. There are various citrus notes listed in this composition. These aren't acidic or fresh but more tarty, smooth and creamy It is like an orange soufflé with spices on top. Hints of sweet ylang ylang and other florals are also present. There is something quite “Tea like” as well, like an aged and dry Earl Grey tea which is fascinating as it is almost soothing. This opening is incredibly beautiful. Middle is where the mystery begins. Here is where an indolic stage takes place and where all the opulence will go wild but always balanced. After months of macerating in its bottle, our perfume became smokier, more spicier and animalic! To work with civet or in general with animalic molecules while keeping a fragrance in balance must be incredibly challenging for a perfumer but here the job was done to perfection.With our perfume, if you close your eyes and get your nose very close to the skin, it smells a bit oudy which is awesome. But be aware that there is no Oudh here but Castoreum instead. To try to explain and describe what is happening at this point, it's like taking the naughty and beastly vibe from the castoreum and wrapping it around with lilies and spices. Despite the denser aspect of this middle/heart stage, the tarty citrus notes will linger in the air even till the very end of the drydown so keep that in mind. What is interesting is that when vanilla starts to appear (which is in the middle) it will show up as a smell of vanilla sticks, but sometimes as a bourbon and sometimes as a custard even which is so freaking good. The end of this experience is the sexy part. Here the memories from the opening are still trying to get a spotlight, mainly the orange accord but toned down. The vibe here is musky, woody, warm and sweet...and still spicy. A subtle leather aura but again, no leather in this composition. Labdanum? Who knows. If we talk about performance, this one is excellent, crossing the 6 hour mark with no problem. Needless to say that this perfume is intended for the colder days so summer is off...Unless you want to wear it at home while getting cozy with the air conditioning. This is a proper bespoke fragrance that took a lot of communication between ourselves and the perfumer before it was completely finished. What is more incredible is that the whole experience and process was done through Superfumista’s App which works flawlessly.The vials with few “drafts” of the perfume were coming from Benjamin’s Parisienne Atelier to our home in Slovenia a few times in a few months. This is a must if you want to get a perfume tailored just for you and to perfection. For us, it took patience and a few changes until Our Blurry Note was finally finished and after months of wearing it and enjoying it, we wouldn't change not one bit.

A crush! To be honest, my immediate reaction was: WOOOOOOOWW! It's one of the rare fragrances to have impressed me so much. Beautiful amber with fruity, juicy, slightly alcoholic cognac-like facets. It goes together so well 😍
