Been thinking about this perfume a lot, not only because my thoughts seem to be alone except for the sponsored review that brought me to this in the first place but rather because it’s just so memorable and completely outside of anything I’ve ever smelled (i mean this is literally Ambronova’s grand debut). You look at the notes and think “hmm, what the hell would this smell like, I could see a way in which it could be pulled off” but then you actually go ahead and take a whiff only to realize it was NOT pulled off. The big giveaway: this is NOT woody at ALL. Like close to zero woodiness. Instead, you get mandarin and a shitton of powdery Ambergris. Genuinely almost pure Ambergris. Ambergris so strong and distinct you’d leave a blind person passing you on the street wondering how a dead whale got into the city. It’s so sour and bitter it feels like needles penetrating your nostrils thousandfold in rapid succession. Thought it would have been a nutella-woodsy-ambergris gourmand but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Despite this, I find myself often smelling this just because of its hilarity. Here sits a perfume that radiates my room in its curse by just removing the cap, a behemoth of aroma and yet one that absolutely cannot communicate its pungency. Truth be told, I’m scared of using it. When I once did back in the deepest winter, I could see people crumple their faces in real time, knowing full-well what horrible experience of an atomic acidic bio-warcrime is currently wreaking havoc on their most treasured olfactory organ. I have wayy too many thoughts on this perfume and no one to share it with. If you also own this, please fetch me a dm.

Okay I just got this but y’all gotta wait for my review because this is so experimental I have to let it sit a couple of weeks and let both it and my opinion on it develop. But first thoughts: too citrusy, projection/longevity insane, reminds me of MFK oud satin mood extrait, strangely so🤔

Apparently there is some citrus here too that is not disclosed in the notes; the article lists them as follows: “Top notes: Cardamom, Mandarin, Nougat, Hazelnut and Filbertone; Middle notes: Ambrostar, Iris and Ionone; Base notes: Cashmere Wood, Iso E Super, Musk and Ambronova.”
