En, which means juniper or juniper wood in Swedish, is a very aromatic and inartificial scent. It starts very harsh but softens up eventually. It is extremely natural smelling and the interesting thing with it, is that it smells not only of juniper berries but of the juniper wood itself, the timber. In the dry down I can get some tobacco as well. This is a must try for every woody scent lover. A little master piece! Detta är en mycket naturlig doft av en och enträ. This is a beautiful fragrance! My first impression is that Svensk Parfym fragrances have the same natural, non-artificial vibe of Maison Louis-Marie ones. It feels fresh, natural, green, earthy, just like a hike in a pine forest would. I would definitely wear En all year round, in warm or cold weather (I love to wear spring/summer green/earthy fragrances on winter, specially on hikes or snowshoeing). I can tell I will be going back to this fragrance a lot, just like I did with "Le Long Fond" by Maison Louis Marie. I really don't see why this has got so much 'dislikes'...(Whaaat??!)

As a woody fragrance lover I knew I had to try this...the Svensk fragrances are really only available by mail order from Sweden, which is how I purchased my bottle...I love juniper and love pine and this fragrance delivers on both...

Absolutley divine, fresh, woody, forresty, green scent. Quality and longevity is superb. This brand is on another level.

Imagine pine, freshly cut pine, I can almost hear the log spliter and the cracks in the wood.

I’d like to first thank Svensk Parfym for the opportunity to test their first six fragrances. On my skin, En is a fragrance entirely centred around the noble, timeless pinewood. A brief passing of camphoraceous and metallic greenery is present in the opening, like silvery threads running through the minty pine needles. The fragrance then settles very soon into this deep, balsamic yet dry woody sweetness, with a pinch of peppery and fleshly metallic spices and a mossy earthiness stirring in the base. There is also a subtle bright aromatic quality which reminds me of certain incense fragrances, such as Oriza Rêve d'Ossian, when combined with the balsamic woody aspect. Although En behaves mostly linear on my skin, it would grow more and more resinous with time, as if the tree is becoming more and more enriched with resins. The sillage of En is moderate, while the longevity can stretch to 9 hours. En shares the common style of the six Svensk Parfym that I tested so far, that the fragrances focus heavily on one particular accord but are rich in nuance. They may appear lack of drama, but are never really boring while being easy to appreciate. I especially appreciate the careful details to render this pinewood accord natural and alive, contrary to a few modern clean woody fragrances that are so streamlined that they feel almost like the pale remain of a dead tree. If you happen to enjoy resinous woody fragrances with a naturalistic style, I think En is worth a try.

This one grew on me. When I first tried it, I thought it might perhaps be a tad too straightforward for me, but oh boy was I wrong. It's a juniper tree in a bottle - the complete tree, in all its complexity. Just like a tree, superficially it always looks the same, but in reality it's always subtly different. You get the green, coniferous scent of the needles, the bitter-fruity-aromatic smell of the berries, the roughness of the bark, the welcoming warmth of the wood, even the earthiness of the roots - and the great achievement of this perfume is that it doesn't feel like a still life at all. On the contrary, it's a perfume that smells wonderfully, vibrantly alive. The shifts in it are appropriately slow and subtle, as befits an olfactory depiction of a tree, but you always get a sense of growth and of motion. It's easy to appreciate, but it also has hidden depths. Give it a go if you like juniper.

This one I can appreciate because there is no unbearing fixatives. The pine in En really shines through. Still not my type of scent so I wouldn’t give it a ”love”. Overall a great composition and matches what it’s supposed to smell like, being a Swede myself.

As a gardener myself, I can vouch for the authenticity of the juniper note here - fresh piny, springlike,- but sadly it has zero longevity on my skin. I will keep this sample on my desk and revisit it when I need a blast of Nordic forest.

Another case of crazy skin chemistry. I was so excited to try En as I love pure coniferous scents and the house is local to me. Unfortunately, all I got was a short-lived whiff of juniper berries and pepper with a harsh and unpleasant undercurrent of a chemical solvent that overpowered everything else. No woodiness on my skin at all. The scent sat very close to skin and was almost gone in 30-ish minutes. The only note I got was a faint smell of the solvent which was completely gone (thankfully) in less than an hour from application. Jealous of all of you who are getting junipers and pines from this! I'd love a pure Swedish forest perfume.

As I sprayed it on my skin, I was punched by a realistic black pepper note. For 20-30 mins all I was getting was pepper - no pine, no tobacco, just black pepper. Pretty soon it dried down to an offputting soapy smell (kind of a household soap, the one people use in Eastern European countries) with just the tiniest hint of wood. I do not think it's wearable. and can be named a "fragrance" at all. It's just a dry solo of black pepper + household soap. Sorry not sorry

A very dark, dry and woody type of fragrance. Very "niche". For me, this fits into this kind of niche perfumery category that just smells like raw materials instead of a perfume. Taste is subjective but I don't enjoy these types of scents. If you literally want to smell like pine rubbed on a block of wood, and I mean literally, than this is the fragrance for you

This is my worst blind buy ever. A musty smell that lacks any character. Just straightforward, muddled and stale woodlike smell. It is extremely weak and becomes a skin scent in few minutes.

En immediately starts with a bold scent of juniper wood, juniper berries, pine and some tobacco. The scent of juniper wood is so genuine and it really smells like when you are sawing the wood. Fantastic! The juniper berries is very prominent and sharp in the beginning, but after a while they are calming down and gives more space to the wood. A little later the pine gets more prominent, but it's still the juniper wood that takes most space. There is also a very spicy scent of black pepper that is appearing and it fits perfectly together with the rough woody scent. This fragrance has a really exciting and natural scent. If you like wood (and pepper) scents and especially juniper wood I absolutely think that you should order a deluxe sample and try this one from svenskparfym.se! I think that it is really good that they sell 5 ml bottles so you can try their fragrances before committing on a bigger bottle with 30 ml. A while ago there was a guy who asked me if I knew of any fragrances that smells like freshly sawn juniper wood and not just juniper berries. At that point I couldn't think of a single one, but now I can recommend this fragrance!

I enjoyed wearing En today. It has a nice initial burst of Juniper and Pine. Very enjoyable. Then it becomes a black pepper note for the remainder of the wear quite literally. En only lasted for about 4 hours before it became an extremely faint skin scent, but it was black pepper for me for the last three hours. I enjoy black pepper scents a lot as well however, so having En smell a lot like Black Pepper by Comme des Garcons is not a deal breaker for me, but like CDG's Black Pepper, En is somewhat fleeting, however it does last a bit longer than CDG's BP.

This smells like wood. Wood and juniper. I get a lot of compliments on it. Other people love it on me. I got a compliment on 07/18/19 and on 07/20/19. If you like being complimented, and you want a unique perfume, this might be a good choice for you. Men and woman can both wear this: it's woody. It's high quality and it has oils in it - do not spray on clothes unless you want it to stain.

Similar to Rook's Forest, but rougher around the edges due to the tobacco and moss. Feels earthier and woodier than the former as well. Definitely worth trying and sampling for those that love evergreen scent profiles, but I prefer Forest as it is neater and more interesting to me.

Very calming tree fragrance. it doesn't scream at you or anyone else. Pretty authentic.

Smells like a pine. Sits close to the skin and doesn’t last too long. Still like it:)
