Spice Surprise

Holy cow this is surprisingly good. The fragrance is based on a spiced wine, and I get that in the beginning. It's got a nice mulled wine vibe. The fruitiness of the wine gently fades...as if the wine had been spilled on raw-hewn wood and dried. Drydown is spices and woods, with some patch and labdanum tying them together. Longevity is great, and Sillage is average. It's a quality scent that is probably best for colder months due to the spices.

The story behind this perfume is that emperor Nero allegedly used a coctail of honey, dates and spices in his orgies. This was called the "spice surprise" and this is where the name originates. Orgies or not - this is a really cool perfume. Initially it starts of with a sense of someone pooring wine on you. Not the most pleasant smell but it fades within seconds and from that poing going forward you have an amazing mix of spices (duh?) and amber on a base of tobacco and cedar. Clove, cinnamon, tobacco and cedar is the most prominent notes for me. This is not too sweet but still has some sweetness to it. Will be my "go to" for this autumn to come!

موازاة مع النبوغ العلمي والفني الذي اشتهرت به الحضارة الرومانية العريقة في العصور الأولى ، نجد هناك نكوصا قيميا و أخلاقيا طبع الحياة الاجتماعية والسياسية للطبقات المرموقة من الحكام وكبار رجال الدولة . حيث ذكر المؤرخون لقاءات العربدة التي كان يقيمها أعيان الرومان في حفلاتهم الصاخبة تحت وطأة النبيذ الذي كان يعد إكسير حياتهم وعقار نزواتهم وغرائزهم ، لقد كان الضيوف رفيعو المستوى يسمحون لأنفسهم بالفجور الجامح بعد أن يحتسوا نبيذهم المقدس Spice Surprise المصنوع من التمر والعسل وأصناف من التوابل ؛ وهو النبيذ المحبب من قبل الإمبراطور نيرون نفسه . فيما الإصدارات البخسة من النبيذ الروماني تسمى Vina وهي مخصصة فقط لمن يقبعون في أسفل الهرم الاجتماعي للإمبراطورية الرومانية . مع أول طلقة ، يتدفق عطر Spice Surprise ويتناثر رذاذه كأنها فرقعة مدوية لعيار ناري مفعم بالذخيرة الحية ، تملكني شعور بأنني أقترف ذنباً . لقد قاومت هذا الشعور وهممت بالضغط على الزناد المرّة تلو المرة ، ست رصاصات قاتلة ، والسابعة كانت رصاصة الرحمة ؛ الآن وبعد مضيّ اثنتي عشرة ساعة لايزال أثر الجريمة على يدي وسائر ثيابي وبدني . انطباع شميّ منحرف للغاية يستطيع أن يوهمك به العطر ، إنه على الأرجح مستوحى من النبيذ المتبّل ، بعضٌ من النبيذ الروماني الفاخر . رائحة بوزية حارة تكتنفها رائحة بلسمية حلوة و مسكِرة مردّها اتفاق العسل والتمر ؛ وبرغم أن نوتة الخمور غير معلنة في التوصيف الهرمي لنوتات العطر ، إلا أنني أكاد أجزم أن لون السائل يبدو وكأنه نبيذ معتّق . إذا كنت من محبي القرفة فهذا عشق لا بد لك منه ، القرفة هنا رائحتها فريدة ومميزة تتضاءل بعد أول ساعة أو ساعتين . تمتزج رائحة القرفة والعسل بعد مضي 30 دقيقة ، تنشأ إثرها حواليك هالة قوية لا تلبث أن تتلاشى لتصبح الرائحة حميمية على الجلد ؛ العطر يدوم حوالي ثمانٍ إلى عشْرِ ساعات على الأقل . لم أشعر بهذا القدر من الحرارة في رائحة واحدة لفترة طويلة ، ربما يكون ثمة العديد من الخيارات لمجموعة عطور التوابل لكنني لا أعتقد أنها سوف تصمد في مواجهة تأثير هذا العطر على حواسي ووجداني ، هذا هو ما يفصل حقّا بين منزل وآخر قدرته على أن يفرض نفسه عليك بين كثير من أترابه . . عطّر الله صباحكم بعطور البذخ ❤ . . . . . . . . #رابطة_عشاق_العطور #عشاق_العطور #عشاق_العطور_العرب #SweDoft #swedoftspicesurprise #swedoftperfumes #swedoftperfumery #spicesurprise

This is delicious. It is autumn and winter in a bottle. Sweet but not too sweet, spicy, honeyed and warm without being cloying. Nice woody base. I was a little nervous because scents with spice and tobacco often overwhelm me and feel heavy handed and dirty, but this is all delight. Charming and sensual, rather than sexy and aggressive as some spicy or tobacco scents can be. And no smoke or incense, thank goodness. I can't think why there aren't more reviews for this on here. Funny that the concept has come from that Emperor fella's orgies because this feels more like a long, tastefully amusing anecdote told by someone with quiet charismatic allure, rather than a debauched pile-on. And it comes in 30ml - handy for travels. It's going on my Christmas wishlist right near the top.

To me this smells like Big Red Chewing gum or Dr Pepper. Very spicy and a little camphorous imo. It’s pretty sweet too. Not a 10/10 for me, but might be for somebody that’s looking for that sweet and spicy cinnamon profile.
