Florence

Personally I have not smelt Mancera's Roses Vanille - the scent that Florence is continually compared to - however, I do own a lot of perfumes from Montale (Mancera's sister company) and find that Florence has a very similar DNA to some of their fragrances. To me, Florence smells like if Montale's Intense Cafe and Mukhallat had a baby. It has the scent of Intense Cafe when it is dried down (so without the coffee note) combined with a hint of Mukhallat's strawberry chapstick aroma. Therefore, if you love Montale fragrances but can't bring yourself to spend the high price tag for them, this is a great dupe. After a couple of hours on the skin the perfume dries down into an aroma that reminds me of sparkling rose wine. The rose is more prominent, and has a jammy quality. This is the second Swiss Arabian perfume I have purchased (the first being Shaghaf Oud) and they continue to blow me away with their longevity, projection and value for money. A truly brilliant and underrated perfume house, I am excited to explore more of their scents and see what this brilliant house come up with next!

This is a sweet, jammy, sugary vanilla rose. A young rose that I'm pretty sure most people would find pleasing. If you stick your nose up to where you sprayed, you will get this sharp, somewhat spicy scent. I think this is the cedar but if you're just walking around you don't get the sharpness at all. The cedar creates a depth to the sweet scent. If you've smelled ISO E Super, that's the scent (very light in the background). It's winter now so this is not cloying so far but I think it's also wearable for summer. Signature scent worthy. Blind bought this and I'm extremely impressed. Love at first sniff. I keep getting whiffs of it as I move around and it's sooo good. I don't get powdery notes (which I hate).

Well, this is just all kinds of delicious. I actually bought it without realizing it may or may not have been intended as a dupe for Mancera Roses Vanille, which I also own (and deeply love), but now that I've worn it a couple of times I definitely see the similarities, at least in the first hour of wear. The dry down is really where these two fragrances diverge. Where RV retains a certain jamminess throughout the lifetime of its wear on me, Florence becomes sweeter and creamier, like the most delicious rose petal ice cream. I don't think I will ever have enough sweet rose fragrances in my collection to satisfy my craving, and I'm very happy to own both of these beauties.

Interesting, boozy, sweet, comforting but not for the faint at heart. I love this!! It has a beer like quality with a mixture of caramel and vanilla. It's moreish.....IMO, it's way more interesting than Cassablanca. However, you may want to test before you buy. It was a blind buy for me, a love at first sniff but I can understand why some may not fall for it as its not mass appealing. It has great silliage and fantastic longevity...the performance is what you want in a fragrance but sometimes you don't get. This does not disappoint.

When you first spray this, it smells like a fresh rose picked from your garden. And you think, this isn't what I want. But give it about two minutes and it begins to develop its sweetness. Give it a few more and it transforms into an oriental sweet rose that you absolutely adore! This reminds me of Mancera Roses Vanille or Montale Intense Cafe, but I honestly prefer this a bit more just because it doesn't have that synthetic metallic undertone that a lot of the Mancera and Montale scents exude. This is an absolute love for me.

This scent is absolutely delicious. A edible gourmand for sure. I’m not sure why, but I almost get a strawberries and cream vibe. This is so yummy 😋. I will say that this and roses vanille smell VERY similar but NOT identical. There is more rose in Florence and the vanilla in this is oh so creamy where as roses vanille has too much vanilla and the vanilla isn’t as smooth IMO. This is much more harmonized. An absolute blind buy success. This is a LOVE 🍓🥛❤️

At the end of the day the sweetness in this melds into something that reminds me of black currant with a hint of lemon and vanilla. It is sweet but not froufrou body splash pink-sweet, more of a rich fruit compote that has natural sweetness balanced with the woody base. Like homemade preserves made in a log cabin when roses are blooming outside in the forest.

When I smell this up close I get the most dreamy scent. But in the air it feels a little more aromatic, almost nutty, whereas when you smell it directly you get the wonderful musky vanilla-rose. It's currently my favourite fragrance and I actually do spray a lot when I use this. Living in a hot climate its not too much for me, I feel like it blooms just more

I looove Florence. It’s boozy, almost pungeant in the opening, but it settles into this creamy, sweet, woody goodness. I get tons of compliments whenever I wear it. I actually prefer this to Cassablanca.

This is a very sweet roses & vanilla. I can also detect the aquatic notes in the background. It smells a lot like Roses Vanille by Mancerea. Amazing sillage & longevity.

A juicy and warm elegant floral with a boozy/punchy touch, the florals lean a bit vintage but not in an overpowering way like Valencia...

I have so many perfumes I've decided to wear a different one each morning when I awake (which lately has been between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m.) and give my thoughts (from my admittedly untrained nose). This perfume...I don't pick up any of the notes listed in the pyramid. To me, on my skin, this smells like champagne and honey, with a powdery note that becomes more prevalent the longer it is on my skin. After a certain point, it mostly becomes a dry powdery scent as the notes of champagne and honey start to fade. It is a like, but not a love.

Immediately I smell beer strongly and then it subsides after about half an hour and the sweetness of the vanilla and the rose emerge and it all sort of comes together. I also get quite a bit of musk initially but that subsides as well with some time. I never do get the citrus notes in the top. Very odd opening and I thought it wasn't going to work on me but after an hour it turns into something beautiful and I love it. The longevity was excellent. I could smell it on my skin and especially my clothes 12 hours later.

Smells like candied roses. One reviewer said it smells like fruit punch and I Agee! This is a nice sweet rose scent. Almost like roses Vanille from Mancera with the heavy vanilla. You get more sweet roses from this.

This is a super jammy rose to me. It was a blind buy based on the notes, and I actually hated it at first. However, I took it outside, sprayed it about 10 times to clear the atomizer, and let it sit for a day. The next day I tried it again. I will admit the opening is a bit tough for me, but the dry down is much more sweet, warm, and gourmand now. Admittedly if I smell it right up against my skin - especially if freshly sprayed - it's quite funky. But in terms of the trail it creates and the general aroma, it's very nice and unique. I especially like pairing it with sweeter scents. The note that I'm not loving - though not listed - is like decaying fruit + oud. Again, not actual notes, but that what it smells like to me. However, that dies down as it settles into the skin and you're left with a jammy rose with vanilla and praline.

There's something about this fragrance that smells beer like on my skin lol. I'm trying to pinpoint what note it actually is, its driving me crazy since I just received it Friday. If anyone out there knows what note it could possibly be let me know. I have to layer this scent with flower scent notes to combat that beer smelling note. Honestly I'm trying to exchange it for Casablanca everyone seems to rave about that one much more. Longevity 10/10 Sillage 8/10

I just sprayed 2 hours ago so will update if it changes but it smells so sour. Like rosewater that had been left to ferment. Someone said it smells like olives and that association cannot be undone as of now. If anyone knows of an affordable scent that has a more gothic dark earthy rose gourmand feel please tell me! I should have loved this, I'm even a fan of aquatics usually. Should have listened to previous reviews.

It breaks my heart but I don't think this will work for me. It smells like beer or rotten fruit and I just cannot stand it. I think maybe because I got a 2019 bottle it has gone off because it smells like that right out of the bottle so it is not my skin chemistry. I don't know what could possible be wrong but I'll let it sit for a while and see if it improves before I give up on it.

When I first received it in the mail, it smelled horrible on me. It sat for a few days and was thinking of selling. I just applied it and LOVE it?!? Why does this happen?? Something with shipping?? Now I love it; a gourmand, strawberries and cream. Fantastic!!! I also adore the Swiss Arabian Casablanca, and that was an instant love, like a green caramel apple. Highly recommend both of them.

I hated it. Yes it smells like Roses Vanille (which I love) but Florence has this super aquatic nuance that doesn’t pull well on my skin. Not a fan

Florence needed to grow on me. Originally I purchased it with Casablanca on Amazon and only CB captured my heart. Looking back I suspect my initial distaste for Florence was due to my habit of over spraying. It's strong, it's rich and can potentially choke a mofo out. Now several months later going into the summer in a very tropical climate, I'm so in love with Florence. I'm one of those who spray whatever I love no matter the season or temperature. Florence is sweet without the candy. The vanilla isn't overbearing, nor is the praline too cloying. Its almost boozy, but not overwhelming if you don't over spray. Now that I understand and know how to properly wear it, I think it's absolutely delicious.

I bought this because many feel it is a dupe for Mancera's Roses Vanille, which I had a brief but intense obsession with. They do certainly smell similar, but I have retired both for the same reason - that overwhelmingly sweet and boozy note that hangs oppressively around you until you wash it off. My mom likes it and it doesn't come out as powerful on her, maybe because her skin tends to be drier than mine? It is staunch and unwavering in its linearity, a quality I can appreciate but which I feel for this is uninspiring and shallow.

This scent is gorgeous! I imagine this is something that would be worn by the most beautiful woman. It’s sweet yet elegant from the rose. The rose is syrupy blended with vanilla and some praline in the background. I can see this being worn all year around Edit: After wearing for a few hours the rose is more forward. Still a sweet rose. The vanilla is much more faint in the background but still present. I love this. Very feminine.

I wanted to like this so badly. It was 90% perfect except for a fermented sour beer smell that ruined the whole experience for me. I let it macerate for over a year and it got even worse. I decluttered this a while ago, but trying a sample of Fenty today reminded me of my bad experience with Florence because based on my memory, Fenty is nearly identical to Florence minus the overbearing fermented booze smell.

This is about a 90% accurate dupe for Mancera Roses Vanille. If you have Roses Vanille or Montale Intense Cafe, you don't really need this. If you don't want to spend the coin for the others, buy this because it's about $50. This one doesn't last quite as long as some of my other Swiss Arabians, but it still has a good amount of power. People are smelling beer but I do not get any beer smell.

Venise:A, Roses Vanille by Mancera does the same thing to me and this one is supposed to smell similar. Vanilla, rose, musk, cedar, lemon and watery notes are in common between the 2 perfumes. I have a feeling musk, lemon, rose and watery notes may be the culprits. I can't imagine the cedar would do it. I might add, the 'beer' note isn't unpleasant and doesn't last very long with the Mancera.

I believe this has been discontinued but if you really miss it, Roses Vanille by Mancera is very similar. I personally don’t care for the combination of musk and sandalwood but it is a classic rose perfume

Be on the lookout for the extrait versions of this, Valencia and Casablanca. It's only UAE exclusive at the moment but can be released to other areas in the upcoming months

This is a bit similar to Casablanca with less woodiness. They are both fantastic perfumes. A must have for light oriental fragrances.

It smells great, it lasts well and is super similar to Roses Vanilla de Mancera, there's no denying it.

Sweet, powdery, vanilla, soft, close to the skin. Love it!

Very similar to Maison Francis Kurkdjian Gentle Fluidity.
