Hawa

I purchased the Love collection discovery set (6 samples) and I ranked Hawa as No. 1 (descending order to favourites). Let me tell you why. When Hawa opened up, she was firmly in last place- the spicy, aromatic cardamom note overpowered everything and I just wasn't having it. However, after the first minute, miracles took place. Orange blossom, ylang ylang, rose, myrrh, ambergris and jasmine- these notes began to rise to the challenge, and believe me when I say that the dry down is exquisite. And because it is a strong perfume, you will experience the extended floral-sweet dry down. Oh my goody-goodness. Hawa is floral, there is a vanillic kind of slightly aromatic sweetness to her, she has a resinous, earthy, mossy backbone to her that adds mystery and loveliness. This is not a modern, sweet floral or fruity, easy to comprehend fragrance. Hawa makes me think of the kind of perfumes French fragrance houses used to release when mass-market was not the name of the game. I cannot find the words, you will just have to buy a sample and experience her for yourself. I love it, but previous reviews demonstrate that we're not all on the same page. Hawa is unisex, but I feel it leans more feminine in the dry down. I think this perfume will do well when there is warmth to the air. Update: Retested after a year and Hawa is still my number 1. It's going on the wishlist.

Bought this in Marrakesh, Morocco last summer, so every time I wear it transports me to that place which was so raw, beautiful and mysterious - made me feel at home and yet in a completely different universe. The perfume opens up with a bang - floral and fruity, fresh and bubbly, like a glass of Bellini with white and yellow flowers on the rim. And just as you’re trying to understand it, it starts to settle into a sweet and thicker aromatic juice. It’s hypnotic! I bought this before buying YSL Libre, so I found it unique, like nothing else in my collection. Now that I have both I can totally see the resemblance and I love them both in a different way. Hawa is stunning!

I really enjoy this scent. It's beautiful and it doesn't smell like My Way by Giorgio Armani to be because I have My Way and I don't like it. I really enjoy Hawa for it's way of bringing in fruitiness without going generic or juvenile. Hawa smells vintage and new all at the same time so almost any lady could pull this off. I feel feminine and classically chic when I wear this but definitely leans more on the casual side to me. I do not detect any Cardamom, Bergamot, or Oakmoss in this scent. The bottle is beautiful as well. I also own Wajd and Walaa from this collection. These three smelled the most unique to me of the collection.

This is like a sugar-free/ diet version of Libre... Which is GREAT! I like masculine elements in my fragrances, so lavender is really apealing to me! Libre in theory sounds great but it's so nauseatingly sweet, just the thought of it gives me headaches! This has a similar idea, much better and less clichê execution! It's vanilic and aromatic but not cloying! It also has little a je ne sais quoi that reminds me of after shave, which might sound off putting but it's really not, it's brilliant! Lasts for around 12 hours and it projects nicely without overwhelming people! Completely unisex! Swiss Arabian really did great with Hawa!

This was challenging at first. I immediately got this strong blast of the cedar and cardamom, which made it seem turpentine-like to my nose. This was first tests on a blotter. So, I sprayed several sprays and set it aside. After several months, this has matured. While the opening is still somewhat challenging to me, it doesn't last long. As the perfume begins to dry down, what's left is a beautiful floral fragrance with a hint of woodiness in the background that gives the fragrance interest and depth. This is lovely! It's perfection for Spring. I'm going to order the oil. I hope that allows this to perform all day.

This is listed as a women's fragrance but as a male wearer I think it's great. Cardamom is always a great note and the ambergris and vanilla combine with the florals for a fantastic nectar effect. Dries down to a musky cedar with a hint of vanilla. I like it all around

On me this perfume smells sweet, fruity, a little bit sour. First couple of minutes it reminds me of My Way intense and then it starts smelling like YSL Libre. It’s giving more spring/summer vibes on my skin. I just bought it and will see how it wears with the time.

Such an amazing fragrance with high projection, the quality is amazing not to mention the longevity . I have never worn this fragrance without being stopped.

This is a very good Libre YSL edp dupe. I like this more! It is so much finer

i find this a very Classy vintage perfume. It is intense for me but very pleasent. the notes that i smell vividly throughout the day are the woody ones with a touch of Jasmin, but it's not that loud on my skin. I actually can smell the myrr a lot more than the Jasmin. Although im more of a fresh white floral person this is a more elegant mature choice of floral perfume.

Date night approved!👌🏿. Even though this is listed as a womans frag. It can defo be pulled off by a guy.

I’ve had to wear this for a week before I can finally review this fairly. I swing between every emotion from love to dislike, to hate, then like and end at O.K. The dream was that it WAS like Valiant but sadly it’s not. Valiant is Valiant due to exceptional perfumery and quality of ingredients, so nothing can match it or even resemble it. Hawas is much closer to being a ruff around the edges version of Royal Sapphire (which I’ve owned) but again, without the luxury of quality materials. Arabian perfumery is stunning at the high-end ranges, but the low and mid-range offerings always strike me as harsh and unrefined. Hawas is no exception, it’s so ruff-around the edges in its creation that I feel nauseous at stages. Hawas’ greatest asset is that it’s officially beast mode with tremendous longevity and sillage. It opens quite juicy, like a tropical pineapple sweet sensation with exotic white florals and it’s only this stage which vaguely resembles Valiant. It’s dominated by a bitterness and sourness throughout which smells like Al-Rehab’s Rasha that I can’t stand. Sometimes in Arabian perfumery I get this bitter sourness which reminds me of a chemical diaper type of sweet which is nasty. Cheap vanilla gives me this vibe and often when it’s combined with a metallic saffron. The closest comparison of Hawas is if you layered Rasha (which is a dupe of Gucci Gulty) with a dupe version of Royal Sapphire. I love a decadent floral but this is a sour and bitter chemical clash.

This is a nice fragrance if you aren't put off by the first half-hour or so. I don't like that early phase. It's very 'tutti-fruiti,' with a mixture of floral and sweet fruit notes that I just find unpleasant. The strongest notes at this point are jasmine and plum. After half an hour, the plum fades and some cardamom emerges; the fragrance swings into mostly-floral territory, as the jasmine continues its prominent role. I can pick up some cedar later on as well. This isn't at all offensive, but I wouldn't wear it again. I think I only like jasmine when it's paired with dry or dark notes. If you like sweet jasmine fragrances with some complexity, this might be right up your alley.

Reminds me a lot of My Way, Voce Viva and Libre Intense. I can’t really smell the cardamom, for me it’s almost exclusively a slightly fruity white floral (I would have said tuberose, but I guess it’s jasmine). Overall it’s not bad but it’s not the kind of scent I look to Swiss Arabian for.

Just going through the dry down for the first time on this fragrance. Let me tell you, the opening on my skin was very sharp and very masculine..in fact, it reminds me of a male scent but the name escapes me. So the opening had mostly citrus for me leaning into a bit of a cat pee scent unfortunately. Now that's it's been about 15 minutes, I can kind of see some comparison to Libre (which I own but is not a favorite) but I can stand wearing and even appreciating Libre, whereas when I get a good whiff of Hawa, I wonder if it's a scrubber. There is no My Way or Voce Viva here, so pls don't buy this thinking that. Be prepared for a more unisex scent. Getting one last whiff, I do have to say the dry down is leagues better than the opening and gets more feminine and complex, leaning more towards the Libre family. EDIT: the reviewer below who mentioned aftershave is on to something 😂 I'm also getting Irish Spring (the soap) vibes? It's as if there is a pleasant Libre type layer and then an occasional smell of aftershave/Irish Spring/cat pee. Very strange

This fragrance has a sharp, slightly sour opening that is thankfully brief. It quickly settles into a beautiful orange blossom, which then blends into clean white florals. The mid and base notes remind me of a luxurious floral detergent, a feeling likely from the blend of white florals, a subtle lavender note, and a soft, enveloping cashmere texture. The musk is clean and prominent, and the vanilla adds a gentle sweetness. This scent feels like a confident throwback to classic, bold white florals. A must-try for those who love clean, long-lasting floral fragrances.

On my skin this is just white florals: Maybe some musk on the base and subtle spices, but it's all about florals in an old fashioned way. Very feminine and designerish. It reminds me Paco Rabanne's Olympea. Not a clone, but in the same direction. I don't like it at all....even in a woman. The worst of the Waaw collection IMO.

Omg! What a mess she is. She goes from smelling feminine to masculine to smelling like a car freshener. She’s all over the place in a not so good way. Even after months of maceration, the mess continues!!! I don’t even think this is a perfume, I don’t know what the hell is it.

Insanely long-lasting. It sucks that this is the only perfume I’ve ever had that gives me consistent headaches. It is just too heavy, too weighed down by the florals (though I love florals). But the sillage and longevity are insane

Smells like something a barber would use to clean his tools. Nauseating is an understatement and the projection is nuclear. It clings to everything it touches.

Beautiful soft, floral musk, but there's a sharp undernote that worsens as skin gets warmer.

Very vintage unisex smelling perfume. A bit too aromatic but I love the cardamom specially from the bottle it smells beautiful. Not as sweet or modern as Libre but still beautiful I honestly like this scent. I love the laundry detergent smell too. The only downside is that I smell something a bit like cinnamon which i don’t understand but still very pretty and reminds of the oil perfumes my mother would wear in the 2000’s . Update: I judged this perfume too soon is not vintage unisex or 2000’s smelling anymore. I like this a lot and is beautifully blended and very long lasting.

The quality of this juice is just insane. Don’t listen to anyone who says this smells chemical cuz it doesn’t. It’s a pure floral fest. The silage and projection are insane. Every time I put it on a stranger stops me asking what it is am I wearing. Real compliment getter.

The base notes are wrong. Please change to the following: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Amber, Vanilla
