Incense 01

i usually have prejudice against hyped fragrances but this one genuinely deserves all the hype because of how amazing it is !! I've always been on the look for an incense fragrance that checks all the boxes of what I want in it: smoky, dark, punchy spicy, churchy vibe, and a surprising creamy vanillic twist. and ofc, Incense 01 nailed all of those !! This fragrance starts off very smoky like VERYYYY SMOKY. The smoke in this reminds me of how the palo santo opening smells like in Eilish No.2 which is quite fuzzy on the nostrils. It also smells like hickory and a perfume-y barbeque sauce? OKAYYYY I mean that doesn't sound good but trust me that's just how it smells for the first few minutes I promise the way it develops is where it's at. As the scent dries down, the savory scent of Incense 01 starts heading towards a sweeter route with the tiniest hint of soapiness. Just when you thought you'd smell the same fig note you'd find in Diptyque's Philosykos, Incense 01 surprises you with the lovely scent of creamy coconut oil which gets sweeter in the long run. At its heart, it smells like a roasted coconut dessert topped with caramelized nuts. It's quite nutty without smelling too much like sesame oil or peanut butter which is often my problem with nutty notes in fragrances. Although it has almonds, you really don't get to smell it on skin but definitely more on clothes !! AND THANKFULLY THE ALMOND IN THIS DOESN'T GO CHERRY COUGH SYRUP !!! Instead, it's a very play-doh smelling almond which I'm obsessed with because I love the creamy scent that's only exclusive to play-doh lol it's such a comforting nostalgic scent. What I also love about the play-doh scent in this is it perfectly complements the base notes. The creamy scent of play-doh makes the vanilla in this extra creamy without being sugary and syrupy. As for the similarities, maybe I kinda get the Purpose 50 reference tho I never got to smell it. However, I am familiar with Guidance 46, which people say Purpose 50 shares some similarities with being its "men's version". Well, I guess so then? Because there's this hella strong creamy, doughy, smoky, woody dry down I get from Guidance 46 that I totally smell in Incense 01. One thing I found impressive about this fragrance apart from the frankincense note not wanting to budge is the longevity. This thing haunts you like you inherited a curse from centuries ago. It stays with you like its THATTTT sticky. Which kinda pisses me off because you think washing it off would be the best solution but no that does nothing. I repeat. THAT DOES NOTHING. I've had a towel that I used last week (which i alr replaced ofc) and even after three uses, the scent of rubbed off incense 01 was still in it and I could smell it whenever the towel got damp. And when I tell you it sticks to everything, IT STICKSSS TO EVERYTHING, so good luck if ur future ex wears this. Ofc, I only shampoo my hair every two days because of scalp reasons, but whenever I use this fragrance I HAVE TO WASH MY HAIR AFTER A GOOD USE. And yes, even if you were only to shampoo your scalp bc you don't want dry and frizzy ends, this fragrance will force you to shampoo your whole head, unless you want to smell this for 3 days straight. I learned the hard way by having fragrances randomly smelling like incense 01 because I thought a good soapy shower would be enough BUT NO, AFTER WEARING THIS, ALWAYS SHAMPOO WHEN YOU'RE DONE EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T PLAN ON USING SHAMPOO BC IT'S NOT WASH DAY. Don't even mention pillow sheets and blankets because yes this thing will stick on everything you touch and will linger in your room for as long as it wants. I'm not even exaggerating this but even my dad smelled this fragrance on our dogs bc one time when I wore this, I played with them for a while, and out of nowhere my dad starts saying "why do they smell like coconuts?" AND HE SMELLED IT ON THE SPOT WHERE I HUGGED OUR DOGS. Longevity is not the only absurd thing about this, even the projection is too much. I let my mom try it on her wrist and I could smell this 10 feet away from our living room. On the bright side tho !! I never reapply this bc of how strong it is and so far I think I've only used 3ml of it because this is strictly a 2-3 sprays max type of beast. As much as I love the scent on this one, I rarely wear it because the longevity is hella annoying. Having impressive longevity sure is great but too much is TOO MUCH. (I love a beast projection tho, so that don't matter). If you were looking for a true incense fragrance, this probably isn’t it but if ur into incensey semi-sweet gourmands, then this is worth having.

Incense 01 is one of the most popular fragrances that SwissArabian produce and is definitely one of the most hyped. I had the chance to pick it up for US$25 recently which is just over half the RRP, and enjoyed the tester so I pulled the trigger. The packaging suggests it is rich and indulgent and the juice does not disappoint. It goes down powerfully and surprisingly wet, and it leaves the sheen on your skin that you expect from high end fragrances. First reaction is that it is very sweet indeed and, as the name suggests, very incense-forward. The frankincense in this is super rich and a bit churchy, but the juniper in the head and nutty accords in the heart notes keep it from being too cloying. There is a saltiness in the middle that feels nicely judged. I wasn't expecting to liken it to Gris Charnel Extrait but it is, weirdly. The fig and the rum over the woody base and the oak moss really make it quite similar although Incense 01 is sweeter and heavier. It is a lot more than just incense and I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to, because incense is sometimes a slightly difficult sell for me as a central theme. I enjoy some but find others to be too cloying and staid for me. This is a very good one, I must say. As you would expect for an extract concentration, this has serious sticking power and really heavy performance. I get 9-10 hours on the skin although interestingly it doesn't sit close as a skin scent after that, it just fades off. I really enjoy the way it deepens in the drydown but find the star of the show, the bit I really enjoy the most, not to be the incense but the way the other accords interact with it and change it. My favourite is the savouriness of the nuts and the velvety rum in the middle that stay in the whole time. The bitter cacao note in the base is gorgeous too. Really, really nice and super enjoyable. The whole experience is very rich and feels hedonistic to me. I am not sure this is a daily wearer as it feels a bit too special and complex for that but as a date night or special occasion fragrance it is an extremely strong proposition and I would say pretty much unmissable at this retail price. Some of the SwissArabian frags I've tried have felt a bit muddled, over-synthetic and over-sweet but I really recommend this one as it is really well blended indeed. I was thinking about buying Incense 01 for months, but was scared without sampling it first. I do not like spending money on samples though... I did eventually pull the trigger and blind bought after reading lots of positive reviews and I'm glad I did. People say this fragrance takes you on a journey and it is true. It's spectacular. It's rich, bold and comforting. Also mature and classy. It's like no other perfume I own. Currently my nr 1 Swiss Arabian perfume. Incense 01 starts a little green and a soapy thanks to juniper and bergamot, but then the roasted nuts and fig start to shine. The addition of vanilla and dark chocolate make it smell delicious, but not cloying like some of your usual vanilla gourmands. Then you also get the frankincense throughout which makes it dark and mysterious. People notice when I wear it and say that I smell 'different', but in a good way. It leans slightly masculine, but I wear it happily as a female. I think it's totally unisex. Strictly cold weather perfume. It's quite expensive for a Middle Eastern perfume, but it's well worth it. It's better quality than any of my more expensive designer perfumes, so I've happily paid it. I just wish it also came in 100mls bottle rather than only 50. Great perfomance, lasts forever and projects well too. I do about six sprays and I'm good to go, even though I am usually a notorious oversprayer. Not needed with Incense 01, it's very potent. I did no maceration/maturation and been using it straight after buying. Beautiful presentation too. Its brown bottle really reflects how its smells. If you like mysterious churchy incense (with lots of comforting nutty sweetness) you're gonna love it.

Blind bought this today after having it on my wishlist for like half a year. First of all, the presentation. It comes in a very high quality box, and has an exceptionally beautiful bottle design - the orange color, the clean simple shape and an intricated metal cap make this an excellent showpiece. But most importantly - it smells phenomenal. Light, airy incense mixed with nuts, vanilla, chocolate and woods really lifts the mood. It's surprisingly wearable, but do not overspray it! Two-three sprays are more than enough to not just smell the whole day, but also to have a long-range sillage. If it smells funky in the beginning, let it settle. The drydown is great, with notes softening down and blending in with each other. Since this is an Extrait De Parfum, the 50ml bottle is more than enough. And it is a great deal for its price, performing much better than its equally-priced designer counterparts. For that price, you are getting a unique high quality niche scent. It is NOT blind buy safe, but I know that it's not very common in stores, and the house itself does not offer tester sets. I have never seen decants of it either. It's up to you if you want to risk it for the biscuit. 8.5/10, amazing

Oh wow! Outstanding from the very first spritz! The frankincense is just spot on! Literally like burning little pieces of the resin or chomping into bits of mastic! Refreshing and invigorating in the opening, I think due to the juniper. Both juniper and frankincense make me think of essential oils from past aromatherapy massages so feel very soothing to my nose. Creamyish dry down with something like a candy cane moss. It's beautifully sweet yet still perfectly unisex. Stunning blend, the other notes are hard to pick out individually and are somehow delicious yet bakhoor like. It's not overtly figgy for those who don't like fig fragrances, I know many are averse. Honestly it's everything I enjoy in a fragrance. 10/10 for me and might even knock one of my fave 5s off the top spot on here! Unless you despise a pure strong frankincense note, I would consider this a safe blind buy. Such a welcome addition to the 01 series. LOVE! 💖✨ Edit : You know what this layers well with? Guidance. For a more frankincensed up version. I purchased mine on Tiktok shop at a great price, certainly no more than £40 which is good for SA. After 9 months it has sweetened up a lot and the longevity is insane.

Incense 01 leans gourmand, but it feels like a dark gourmand. The opening is surprisingly bright, with bergamot pushed forward. It blends smoothly with rum, frankincense, and juniper, creating a balanced start. The bergamot and fig pair especially well. The bergamot opening reminds me of something familiar, possibly Tumi Degree, though I will need to revisit my collection to confirm. The rum is strong right from the beginning. It works well with the frankincense, though I do not get much incense later in the dry down despite frankincense being listed in the base. Around 5 to 10 minutes in, a light vanilla appears. To me it smells more like toffee, likely from the mix of hazelnut, roasted nuts, and almond. Vanilla blending with those notes gives a toffee-like impression. The bergamot fades, but the rum stays strong alongside the toffee character. I do not pick up chocolate distinctly, perhaps it is blending with other notes and not registering as chocolate. After a couple of hours, the incense is much lighter. Vanilla becomes more prominent, shifting from the earlier toffee nuance into a softer, slightly milky vanilla. The nutty aspect fades almost completely.

The hype is real, and well-deserved. If you're in the market for a smoky, sweet, and more importantly, sexy fragrance, then you need not look further. This could purely be based on my body chemistry, but it it's not quite the projection beast that one would presume it to be--at least on my skin. That being said, it projects well enough to create a sultry, irresistible aura that follows you around and garners compliments like nobody's business. If you're concerned about anything resembling campfire smoke, that won't be an issue right after the strong opening. It's more of a fresh, incense-infused gourmand aroma for the rest of the day. Not cloying. Not invasive. Ideal for intimate affairs. Perfect for the local baristas you've been fawning over because they were nice to you that one time. In terms of any cons, prices are a tad jacked up as of late due to said hype and current events, and it only comes in 50ml bottles as far as I know. Still, you wouldn't want to pass this up if seducing the entire neighborhood is on your agenda.

Hot diggity donuts! Finally got something after a long time from Swiss Arabian, which I positively like. The frankincense note is noticeable at the start and the mid, after which it fades into background. The rest of the notes can be assumed to be not prominent on a standalone basis, but gel together well enough to give a nutty-woody-vanilla vibe. There's a bit of fig, booze, chocolate, etc. I swear that I can smell shades of Gris Charnel in the drydown minus the cardamom and tea note. However you have to like frankincense to truly appreciate this. There's a dude below, who says that it smells like the inside of a desk.... if that's what a desk smells like, i'll buy it first up! All seasonal scent? Fall and winter IMO, but can be used in cooler evenings in spring Unisex? Classified unisex but leans a bit masculine Blind buy worthy? If you like frankincense mingled with a Gris Charnel drydown, a resounding yes. Performance? Longevity, around 9 to 10 on skin (and longer on clothes), with good projection and sillage. .

This is a frankincense perfume with hints of fruits and nuts. Sparkling, clean, yet sweet and creamy incense. The vanilla adds some sweetness, and has some creaminess from the nuts. One of the best Swiss Arabian releases. The color of the bottle is perfect and matches the scent profile. Very beautifuly executed. Whoever suggested the "reminds me of perfumes" is day dreaming. Nothing to do with any of the listed perfumes. The only thing I find it similar to is, think of full incense by Montale and Avignon from Comme des Garcons, think of that frank incense accord used in them, make it sweeter and creamier, this is what you get. Its not churchy incense as in full incense and Avignon, and not their clone, it just shares similar olibanum accord, with a totally different scent profile that's worth exploring. Solid release! Performance is excellent, lasts on clothes for days, I sprayed on the jacket and it's been three days, every time I open my closet it explodes and fills the whole room, potent indeed!

This is really great. I get hints of a lot of the “similar” fragrances (Charnel Extrait, Purpose 50, Encens Suave, Luminous Night especially) but it doesn’t smell exactly like any of them. In fact, it’s only maybe 40-50% similar to them at any given stage of its wear. Definitely a unique creation and a great one at that. The opening is lighter and more airy with a blast of citrus from the bergamot. It stays just above the surface throughout but as it dries down the nuttiness fades in, as well as a juicy sweetness from the fig. Before landing on the frankincense and vanilla with some slight spicy woodiness from the cedar. The blend is so good though that you can feel the accords but rarely pick out individual notes. I love this. It’s heavy but not as much as something like Luminous Night. It works most of the year, even in the summer on a cooler night, imo. Longevity is good, sillage is good, scent is good. All around fantastic creation from Swiss Arabian. 8.9/10.

If the bottle were 100ml at same price, I would say its a fantastic value. But being the upper end of middle eastern scents, and 50ml is still decent value, but not outstanding. And that is totally ok with me. Not everything can and should be priced for daily wear, as this is not it. Its nice to wear sometimes, not every time. The frankincense and juniper opening is something I had not experienced prior to this, and I love it. The opening last for quite a while too, slowly fading into the mids. Green fig and nuts is an apt description of what you get for hours, with the mossy woody base poking through. I generally do not like note descriptions to be highly detailed because we all get something different in our personal experience. But in this case, I want to highlight that frankincense, juniper, and green fig are not commonly the highlight in a fragrance, so I recommend getting a sample before blind-buying. I didn't, but I also really like those notes.

Very good quality juice, a nice sweet and smoky Eastern vibe. It's a very elegant cold weather daytime/evening scent that could work in the transitional seasons too, but mostly for evening occasions. The sweet boozy notes are awesome, as well as the dominant frankincense in the heart and creamy woods in the drydown. I expected a bit more longevity based on the reviews, it's not bad though, projects well for the first 5-6 hours, then it starts sitting closer to the skin and fades into a skin scent in 7-8 hours. Projection is quite strong but not offensive, it's a very elegant masculine scent. I find it a bit overpriced that must be due to the youtube influencer hype it gets, not terribly, just considering it's only 50 ml. It's absolutely blind buy-safe if you like Middle Eastern smoky-sweet fragrances.

This is way more easy going than I anticipated. Many reviews paint it as a challenging scent or a heavy, dark complex experience. I find it quite approachable and easy to like and much lighter and airy. It reminds me of Harry’s Fig body wash with a touch of earthy frankincense and incense with a nutty vanilla backbone. Wasn’t expecting the soapy nature at all but find it works great to make this a more versatile wearable scent. For sure best for cool weather. Great longevity and pushing alittle more than an arms length for around 3-4 hours. Do not overspray this one or you offend others. Very clean and not at all juvenile. Doesn’t have the normal cologne vibe. I definitely think this is unisex as well and would be safe for casual through formal situations 8/10 for me

So this, it just is so damn good. I have no words. It opens up spicy and also like going to a barber shop. Its so good. Then it dries down to something that is like creamy and comforting. It pulls you in and makes you wanna smell it again. I blind bought this. And so far, one of the best blind buys i have made myself. This is also what i kinda see as my first niche (as i have knowledge of means its kinda one of a kind) (PLEASE, correct me if i am wrong) But i will get one again when i run out! It is so strong! I had to wash my arms three times to get it off after like half a day. It does not in my mind smell like gris charnel extrait. This is much more creamy and pulls you closer, where as gris charnel extrait is kinda more spicy

So i've been testing this out for a few weeks now to make sure i'm 100% confident and accurate about how i feel about this fragrance. Incense 01 punches way above it's weight. It projects strongly with strong aromas of rum, juniper berries, and incense in the opening....it stays this way throughout most of the scent journey with the other notes sprinkling through later on in the dry down. The performance on this thing is exceptional!! How do I decide on if I'll pull the trigger and purchase a full bottle? When I can't stop sniffing myself. It's so intoxicating! The best thing about this fragrance is it doesn't smell like anything else I've ever smelled. Extremely unique and I love it for that. Purchased!

Words don't do this justice man, what a banger. Smoky, sweet, woody, slightly gourmand but also slightly fresh which adds appeal. And it works masterfully. It opens almost entirely with incense, and as it dries down all the other notes begin to appear and leave a very attractive sillage that lingers very well. Waking up the next day there's still a slight sillage there. Nothing at all remotely synthetic about this fragrance, the quality is completely niche and for the price this is a genuine steal. Truly so immersive, it's an experience. Since I love incense and other darker accords I blind bought this and was more than pleased.

This is a great fragrance. It opens well with the frankincense, soon (20min), it dries down to an incensed figgy sandalwood with a tiny itty bit of rum ("boozy"), also the juniper and cedar are present throughout the fragrance. The bergamot note is very faint, you can perceive it in a distance on the accords, but to me it makes the difference on the incense note, turning it more smooth. It ́s a scent that reminds you of a high profile church figure, like a bishop or a Pope. Definitely a fragrance that one of the Three Magi would wear. Solid 9/10 to me. But could see people going for a 8/10 or 8.5/10.

I agree this doesn’t smell like the fragrances currently listed here, however there is a fragrance this reminds me of. And it is BDK Gris Charnel Extrait. Now keep in mind that there is an incense undertone to it (right after spraying it, the smell of incense is stronger, it is still not too much but it is there, after 15 minutes or so, the incense will rather be in the background). I had Lattafa Liam Grey and compared to that, this has a lot more quality, and it is a lot stronger. (Plus the previously mentioned incense undertone) This is a great fragrance in my opinion, I’m in love with it!

Lots of well done reviews here that really convey the journey of this fragrance. I think its an absolute banger but you've got to wait a little while. I personally found the opening to be pretty harsh and unpleasant. Lots of spicy frankincense off the top. Then dry down as others have described gets woody and green. A fig note does remind me of Gris Charnel but this is definitely not that. The far dry down just smooths everything out with some sweetness at the end. I think it's great. This is what Purpose 50 by Amouage wanted to be. But Purpose 50 smells like cleaning product.

I am a huge fan of Swiss Arabian with Musk 07 being a top 5 for me, but this one scared me, so I bought a sample. Right off, it was loud, screechy and I was disappointed. But a few minutes later, it turned into the most stunning woody vanilla. It leans slightly masculine to me, but as a woman who enjoys more masculine scents, I will wear this one once the weather coold.in Oct. I may even sneak some on my husband (he doesn't wear scents) it's that good. I think this would layer amazing with Tobacco 01.
