Oud 01

Hmm, So, I blind-bought Oud 01 because although there were only a couple of reviews on YT, they were (RAVE REVIEWS) plus I LOVE the tangy/sweet note of raspberry in fragrances (love it in TF Tusan Leather). Thing is, Oud 01 has this "Moth Ball" smell when sniffed up close, and although that mothball note does actually smell great in the air, it really over powers ALLL the other notes and thats all I get.. Mothballs! Im guessing its the Oud/Agarwood, and YES I know that one should be carefull when purchasing Oud perfumes, thing is, Oud 01 wasn't properly decsribed on YT, or here on fragrantica where Id also done some research for that matter! Now, Oud 01 has that same Oud/Agarwood note in another Swiss Arabian offerings like one named (Rakaan) which is a very zesty lemon/Lotus/Agarwood fragrance, and it has that same "Mothball note". Now, if I could smell that strong Mothball/Oud note ALONG SIDE the Raspberry and other notes, I wouldn't be complaining, But ALLL YA GET IS MOTHBALL! lol. Now when Oud 01 dries down (HOURS Later into the dry down), it smells beautiful, but I still cannot distinguish any "Raspberry" in it! I just dont understand what others are getting that I'm not?? Also, one of my main complaints is the price per volume here. I guess its a 1.5 oz. And although its a beautiful bottle, half the bottle is solid glass! This fragrance isn't inexpensive either, coming in at between $70 to $80 and even more depending on where ya look, it ain't cheap! Now, with Oud 01 being one of the "pricier fragrances" from Swiss Arabian, I at least REALLY hope that it has stellar performance, but I'll come back for an update on that. For now, Im NOT impressed because to me, this doesn't really smell like a raspberry forward fragrance, and again, the more this dries down on me as I'm typing this (in real time), it REALLY is starting to smell more and more like (Rakaan) like.. A LOT ($30 btw)! 🤔. Im hoping some maceration will take care of these issues, but if I'm being completely honest, if Id known what Oud 01 smells like, I would have definately passed and grabbed something else because of the similarities to Rakaan, which I do love, but I just dont LOVE the redundancy.. Fingers crossed with maceration... Anyways, Thanks to whomever took the time to read my review! 🫡. And don't be a dope like me... try before ya buy!

****Edit**** So, its been around 4 months since I'd purchased and worn Oud 01. My gripe was at first that the Oud/Mothball smell was over-powering all the other notes, and in the opening and early mid, thats ALL I would get was that "Mothball" smell which hung on until the far dry-down. Fast forward to today, I pulled it out bc I was curios and it has definately improved! I can now get the fruityness from the raspberry and its smells really beautiful from opening to dry-down. Since ive started collection a couple years ago, Ive been pretty amazed at how much "Maceration/Maturation" is really a thing and in some cases, its a HUGE thing! Oud 01 smells quite beautiful and unique now. There is a slight Mothball thing going on, but only when ya stick your nose into where ya sprayed bc in the air? AMAZING! Great performance lasting atleast 8 hours on sking with more of a great sillage vs monstruos projection. Now that Ive seen prices go down a bit on these Swiss Arabian WAAW Heritage Collection, I'd def recommend them. Im sorta curious about a few others from this line.

This is a beautiful take on oud🪵!!! Soft oud🪵, with leather🫎, raspberry🍒, rose🥀, cardamom🫛 & amber🍂...it takes you on a fantastic olfactory journey💨🛫🚀from top notes to mid & then ends it with a sensational ambery raspberry🍒🍁🍂🥀dry down. One of the best raspberry🍒🍂fragrance i have experienced!!! Super impressed with Swiss Arabian on this Projection (8/10) is moderated, depending on how you spray. On skin it has a sour to sweet note but on clothing it is sweet all the way. So i would advise you spray on both skin & clothing to experience this beauty✨️👌🏼 Longevity (10/10) 8 hours plus, wore it on my right arm to bed & it was the first thing i smelt when i woke up with that beautiful dry down Scent (100/10) bravo Swiss Arabian, bravo🏅🪙🙌

***Update one year since purchase*** Pulled Oud 01 out AGAIN. Its been a year since purchase and now the "Mothball smell" is a distant memory. A year later and Im now getting the raspberry, the rose and the Oud is super smooth! So, although Oud 01 takes a while to "Maturate" properly, it now smells devine and is well worth the wait! Lasts around 8 hours on skin and klings to clothes quite well (days). So, as long as folks have patience, Id highly recommend Oud 02, but ya MUST LIKE OUD, ll be it a dmoother oud.

Rose and Oud, a great combination! Starts off with raspberry and rose more than anything else, and dries down to a mild, sweet Oud and Amber. Very wearable and unisex. Longevity is around 12 hours on my skin, projection is good and sillage is also pretty decent. Not a safe blind-buy because of the sweetness which could come off as feminine. Rock it with confidence and you’ll be good (male or female)! Recommend: sample first Rating: 4.25/5

This is a lovely fragrance. On my skin, it starts very soft with raspberry... Not sweet for me, a very authentic raspberry tartness, the best raspberry frag I've smelt so far. The dry down is very green and leafy for me, with a strong emphasis on the cumin and the violet leaf. The raspberry thankfully stays for the entire journey. It's like walking in a raspberry forest. A very clever scent.

This fragrance is stunning. No skank at all, it's fruity, but not childish, floral and woody, but far away from Tuscan Leather. Smoother and longer lasting than Tom Ford, this juice is elevated to the "old money" status.

Letting the bottle age in a dark place for a few weeks allows the notes to mature and the projection to "bloom" to its full potential. It is a unique, warm-spicy addition to a collection that stands apart from other raspberry-oud profiles like Lattafa’s King of Arabia, offering a much more distinct, animalic character that is well worth the 15-minute challenge of the opening.

Oud 01 by Swiss Arabian blends oud, raspberry, and rose into a composition that feels both dark and sweet at the same time. While the scent carries sweetness, this is far from a safe blind buy. Elegant, mature, and best suited for special occasions, Oud 01 shines beautifully in colder weather where its deep character can fully develop. Of course, longevity and projection are well above average, giving the fragrance a strong presence and impressive staying power throughout the day. Overall Rating: 8/10

I received a sample set as a gift from a perfume shop and this was one of the scents included in it. The cumin and violet leaf comes off strong and slightly body odor-ish in the beginning. Together with the sweet raspberry, it's quite jarring and unpleasant. It's a unique opening for sure -- maybe it's something you learn to like with time, but it's a bit skanky on my skin. Luckily, after a few minutes, the scent settles and the floral notes come forward a bit -- but the cumin is just too strong for my liking. I liked 'Oud 07' (also from Swiss Arabian) a lot more than this.

My God, this has to be a nutty perfume. Violet leaf, raspberry, oud, rose, cardamom, leather? I have ZERO clue what this would smell like. Violet leaf smells like cucumber and ozonic so I think that's what's throwing me off.

Without having looked at the notes and only having smelled the official sample in the discovery set. It’s an average quality and boring light oud scent.

It kind of dries down to a very sophisticated perfume. I heard they open in France now and they will love this brand.
