Oud Maknoon

The perfume that intrigued me to buy with just one spray. I said the store keeper that I want it to be sprayed on my shirt and check how it performs over night and will come back to him. He was ok as I am a regular customer that swiss arabian branch. I sprayed twice on my shirt, then I walked to the door to open and stepped back immediately to him to pack that one. This is a #Monster in a #Bottle. Father of #rasasi shuhrah in performance. Not everyone can pull this off. If you love shuhrah you will love this one for sure. Its bit expensive as you can buy many other designers or middle eastern perfumes for this price for a 100ml bottle but this is only 50ml. Im sure shuhrah kinda perfume lovers not gonna regret buying this. About performance: The two sprays I did was on a Thursday night. It was projecting to my nose without sniffing close to the clothes in the next day morning. Friday was a day off and I was wearing the same shirt next day afternoon for a restaurant. I smelt this one very well on me but under estimated its performance and applied a good sprays of Ajmal Zeal (clone of sauvage) it has a decent performance btw, I went out and the scorching heat summer made zeal to suppress and the one I sprayed the night before started to choke me. I left the shirt in the room for a couple more days and everyday I entered my room in the evening from work, all I smelt was this amazing aroma. I am a guy who over sprays Sehr Al Kalemat which has a bombastic performance. I am seriously not over spraying this one for real. I gone three less sprays than I go for shuhrah. The beastest among all my collection... This is none other than #Oud_Maknoon from #SwissArabian Try to test this one if you ever get a chance. I dont advise blind buying middle eastern fragrance for sure...

First of all, the bottle is a piece of art, a jewelry, a nice collectable item so even for that it’s worth paying for about CAD$57. And the fragrance itself, it’s very rich but not abrasive, very uplifting and luxurious, elegant and attractive. Although the concentration is EDP, to me, it’s like “Extrait de Parfum” which is the highest grade of concentration. I’m a heavy sprayer with 90% of designers fragrances (16 to 20+ sprays each time PLUS, refresh during the day😅👍🏽✨) but with this guy, it’s a bomb so I have to be really careful not to do the same. This sprayer is easy to control the trigger so I just give a tiny sprits on the neck and the chest and I smell like I sprayed 50 times!! 🤯👊🏽💥🔥 And the scent profile, it immediately reminded me of Rsasai Shuhrah with the prominent scent of oud & fruity smell. I know there’s no fruits listed but I still pick out some fruity nuance almost like sweet pineapple 🍍 or even passion fruit (of course it’s imaginary one😌💭) This fragrance is so well blended with and super long lasting high quality fragrance that has price tag of much less than designers fragrances. For those who like heavy smokey barnyard type of oud, you can’t expect that from this one. It definitely has the strong presence of oud but more of refined, deep woody type of oud and it has that again, high notes of fruitiness, although not necessarily syrupy fruity sweetness. When you wear this, you will absolutely stand out in a good way! ✨🧔🏽✨🌹🪵🍍😍

The spicy beginning punch of this fragrance seems to have some sort ephemeral citric note in it, although none is listed. This is probably due to the rose used in this composition being of a fresher type having a luminous brightness. But as this redolent rose bud starts to bloom, it becomes silkier and and richer in nature. Oud Maknoon means Mysterious Oud in Arabic and as the name implies, oud definitely plays an enigmatic role in this composition through its masterful balancing act with the other notes. There is just a hint of its animalic tenaciousness, but here the oud is courting the rose, trying to enchant it with its deep, woody heart beating within its mighty chest. Thus a romantic dance ensues between rose and oud as they waltz the night away in a passionate lovers' embrace. They are accompanied by the peppery twinkling of the firmament above and the sweet, enraptured fervor of the amber beneath their feet, intoxicated by a sensual touch of musk. This is a very unique take on the classic rose/oud combination, where neither one tries to be dominant but instead are melded together in an exquisite, mysterious harmony. This could be worn anytime, but it seems to be such a superb fragrance for nighttime or a romantic evening. I also rate this fragrance a 10/10.

Everything about this cologne reeks (bad choice of words) of class. From the packaging, to the gorgeous bottle, to the quality atomizer, Swiss Arabian gives the customer a first-class experience. Oud Maknoon, which I believe means, Mysterious Oud, starts off sweet and powdery. I don't get the Oud at first, but after about an hour, the rose, musk and oud become the stars. Florals remain strong as does the musk. I have Oud fragrances that are predominantly Oud and this isn't one of them. Sillage is strong, as is projection. I sprayed my shirt twice and that seems to be plenty. 5 hours later and the scent remains potent. Go easy at first. I might try a base spray of Dehn el Oodh Malaki, before layering this fragrance. This cologne is surely developed for the tastes of the Middle Eastern consumer, but I am really taken by these scents. They do require some getting used to, especially if you're accustomed to aromatic fougeres, but for the relatively inexpensive price tag, I would say give it a go. Thumbs up. Edit: 8 hours after application (two sprays) and this scent is still strong and has morphed into a strong musk. I am getting 90% musk---pleasant enough, but it needs some Oud.

Swiss Arabian generously included some freebie samples that included Oud Maknoon when I purchased both their 2019 and 2020 discovery sets. When I initially put this on, it was a spice bomb with beast-mode projection. My husband first said "WOA! That's *strong*!" but after it had time to settle on my skin he would put his nose in the air and said he really liked the wafts that he was getting -- and he's a hard one to impress. When I put my nose to my wrists, I get some soapy and funky smells, but at a foot or more away, there's none of that. Tobacco isn't a listed note, but I'm getting a sense of fresh tobacco leaves in the mix. The oud here is a base rather than a feature. I believe the beauty of this concoction is in its sillage, and meant for social spaces rather than intimate ones, as this can become stifling in its warm, thick, peppery gorgeousness. I'd caution against wearing this in the office, and save it for a day of running errands, or for a night out. If you're modest with your sprays, you'll turn heads and garner compliments. If you over-spray, you'll clear a room with your obnoxiousness. Make good choices.

Oud Maknoon Swiss Arabian Maknoon in Arabic means preserved and secured and taken care of. My impressions: - This is similar to: Bharara King and Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold Edition Extreme and Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold Edition and Lattafa Ana Abiyedh, roughly in order of similarity. - I smell no oud, or may be very little, so diluted and out of character. - Nice fragrance, not the best in this group. - Longevity is average. - Sillage is weak. - Presentation is very good. - Totally unisex. - If you are expecting a strong Middle Eastern type of oud this may not be for you. - If you are buying this because you are an oud lover, then probably do not buy. My nose says the naming is inaccurate. - If you want a nice very calm fruity ambery musky scent (with no significant oud) that is not loud at all then maybe buy this. The Swiss Arabian web site confirms my conclusion, there is no oud ! this fragrance is just beautiful! it definitely smells like a unisex fragrance. Oud Maknoon does not smell masculine due to the rose, the rose notes are quite dominant. the oud and rose complement each other marvelously! in my opinion, this fragrance is not for everyone, for people who hate rose-based fragrances please stay away from this one, the rose is dramatically strong in this fragrance. the opening is very floral and you will not be able to smell the oud at the beginning however the oud flourishes after an hour and it's just beautifully done! the bottle is great with high-quality materials. when it comes to longevity, it's outstanding! especially on clothes, it will definitely last more than a week on your clothes. sillage is also good, you will leave a nice scent trail. projection is next level, easily 5 feet overall, this fragrance is complex and you will definitely smell unique.

-- FRUITY OUD BOM -- Very fruity syrupy oud, not the skanky funky dark type, rather smooth refined and bright woody oud. I thought it was orange what i was smelling but it turned out to be apricot based on SA's website... but man it is good! This perfume is for someone of a great taste, style and sophistication, a mysterious Arabian prince or queen - completely unisex. I can tell you people will never forget someone who smells like this. Performance is ridiculously obnoxiously strong. Luxurious bottle design with amazing quality. Value for money wise, Oud Maknoon is a steal! This is middle eastern perfume artistry at its best, I can't understand how people could choose more costly generic boring designer fragrance over a gem like this - and many others from middle eastern houses.

Almost unisex but the projection and longevity is out of this world for this EDP. Yes the animalistic side of the Oud is masked by the ingredients used for top and middle notes (Pepper) but I ask any other perfume manufacturer to match the longevity of this product. If you want to try it before buying make sure you try it last as it nullify any ability of your nose to smell other scents. Although I own and can can handle the barnyard high quality Indian Ouds, Swiss Arabian have done a good job in taming the animal in this perfume. But this stuff will remain on clothes for weeks.

This basically smells like realistic incense sticks, like the ones you smell walking into a new age store. Add a little bit of lemon and dry woods or cedar to that. I don't detect any oud. It's a very clean, relaxing, zen-like perfume. It's lightweight and airy. If you like Lalique's Encre Noire, you will probably like this one too. They are like cousins, with the difference that Encre Noire is more earthy and piney and this one is more incensy. Smell: 9 out of 10 Longevity: 10 out of 10 Unisex, leaning slightly more masculine For reference, I'm female.

I love how “straightforward” this fragrance is. An easy Oud fragrance that hits you with pepper, that moves on to rose and dries down to sweet-ish Oud, musk and warm amber. Projection is great! Eternal longevity (12-14 hours on my skin) and decent sillage. Oud maknoon is a great sweet Oud that may be a little hard to pull off but GREAT for a beginner wanting to get into Oud. I will be buying a bottle, but this is not blind-buy safe. Rating: 4.25/5

If I had to only buy one Swiss Arabian scent it might just be this one. It's absolutely beautiful! Spicy opening that blends into an incredible oud complimented by it's others notes. I agree with mapache something is missing in the notes list & I personally think it's a citrus.

Kudos to @sunamo_lover, his very poetic and literary review of this fragrance was spot on and it amazes me while I read it. That's the kind of fragrance review I enjoyed reading. Well, I blind bought a full bottle of OM out of my deep curiosity for middle eastern fragrances and first time I tried it, I hated it. I almost puke because it’s freakin strong. A very sweet beast mode monster to my nose and yes, quite cloying. Once this juice hits your skin, you would think its gonna stay there forever. But true to its name, there’s something "mysterious" in this fragrance that I can't explain. I hate it and yet I want to go back and sniff it again and again which was really odd. So it compelled me to just let it chill in my cabinet and revisit from time to time. It’s still growing on me and I know it’s working. I would say this made me respect Middle Eastern fragrances much more. Another plus is that this is the most luxurious and elegant looking bottle in my collection. Personally, I don't think I'm gonna wear too soon but this scent is ideal for cold weather and for formal or evening occasions such as weddings or high profile social gatherings but definitely not a safe office fragrance. There's actually a hack on how to really enjoy the beauty of this fragrance and as a friendly advice, just a couple spritz is good enough - and that’s it. It's the gorgeous dry down and the scent trail that reveals the magic of this fragrance so wait for about 15-20 minutes after applying before you go to your destination. If you live in a democracy, nobody can tell you not to overspray so do it as you please. If you hate people, simply over spray and for sure people will keep distance and hate you in return. This is pure quality and an olfactory wonder I must say. It’s a must in my collection under Middle Eastern or oriental category but then again, this is not for every nose. Let me rate this good friend of mine a 9/10 “Let us spread the scents of peace and kindness. All of the notes are there. And are blended perfectly. I also sense Orris or iris? However this is a little TOO smokey for my taste. Lasting power & projection is outstanding 12+ hours. This beauty is best for Colder months. I have a small sample But I will not be purchasing a full bottle after I've finished.

This fragrance is rough, to say the least. It's definitely not unisex. Nothing sweet, for fruity, or floral about it. This is not mass appealing either. The opening is harsh! Smells like some rotten chicken stuffing, with some incense, and marry Jane mixed in. Doesn't change a whole lot, but reminds me so much of those burning incense sticks you see in smoking shops, and something else, something vegetal. Not for the average Joe, or even the more expierenced nose for that matter. This is the fragrance you buy someone to let them know how much you hate them

This one pretty much mirrors what the "main accords" list says, with oud, fresh spicy, rose in that order. The fresh spicy aspect is a bit generic, just exactly what you think of when you hear "fresh spicy" - quite similar to Brut's green deodorant and other green fresh spicy products. For that reason this is more average compared to Shaghaf Oud which was outstanding to me. For this I give 3/5

According to SA website: Fragrance Family : Floral, Woody, Amber Top Note : Chamomile, Apricot, Amalfi Lemon Middle Note : Frankincense (Luban), Orris Base Note : Musk, Amber, Leather, Vanilla, Virginia Cedar It took me some time to 'get' this one - based on the name I initially expected an oud heavy middle eastern rose/oud type composition. Then on the first spray, a blast of lemon as the top note -- I later found out that Maknoon actually means hidden, which bodes well for the name Oud Maknoon. To me this actually leans more citrus on the opening with the lemon top note flanked by apricot / chamomile. As it settles down, the incense opens up along with some sweeter accords from the amber/vanilla Towards the drydown you do get some darker notes, although there is an absolute citrus accord throughout the development of the fragrance, which once I accepted is where this really 'clicked'. It should be clear that the journey from opening to drydown is a very long one - this is ridiculously long lasting with nuclear projection. I don't normally rate bottles but this one is excellent and quite heavy. Finishing this up, Oud Maknoon is a rich, thoroughly enjoyable fragrance that brings something different to the table.

The bottle is luxurious, with some decidedly profound heft, and the packaging is elegant. A lavish affair, over all, even if it is a bit over the top. But beautiful! So right off the bat I get the smoke from Interlude Amouage Men. GREAT! Next is its unmistakable similarity too an attar I bought once. That was named Jannah Tul Firdaus - I don't recall the maker. I noticed that Swiss Arabian has it's own version named Jannet El Firdaus. From the descriptions in the comments the J.E.F. seems a likely counterpart for the attar I own. But nothing about it says "Oud" to me - it's SHARPLY herbal and citrus like Jannah Tul Firdaus! - it hits you like the first breath of ARAMIS ARAMIS! It doesn't smell exactly like Aramis but it does, personally, remind me of it in its sharpness and intensity. (I'm sure the breakdown of notes above leaves out some of the more noticeable top notes.) I've had my eye out for an EDP to replace the Jannah Tul Firdaus oil and Oud Maknoon Swiss Arabian fills the bill nicely and with the bonus smoke note added. As to longevity it lasts hours and hours but the projection leaves much to be desired as it has one quarter the strength of Interlude Men Amouage
