Rakaan from Swiss Arabian This perfume on the first day of use I fell in love with. I never felt so amazing with a smell after #Hawas in this way. Its love at first sniff. I can now say #Rakaan can be my alternative best fragrance after Hawas from my collection (thats a small collection only lol) #Notes_from_Website: #TopNotes: Grapefruit, Caribbean, Lime #MiddleNotes: Lotus Flower #BaseNotes: cedarwood, Sandalwod, Agarwood. #Presentation: Brilliant. I received 5 Gems from this fragrance house and this was the biggest box among all where as its only 50ml where as others are 75 to 100ml. For a 125SAR perfume the presentation is good. Some might not like it but this one looks fancy for me. Im not throwing the bottle away even if I go out off juice. #How_do_I_felt: I first sprayed and immediately I felt its a fresh oriental fragrance. Its a citrusy woody fragrance by notes. And yes I felt the same. No doubt its one of the best above average performing fragrance. Hot and humid good go for formal events. In the dry down I felt #Raaqi from this house had similar vibe. A nice oriental fresh oud for high hot and humid weather. #Performance: #Sillage/#Projection: It formed a cloud of an arm length I would say. I sprayed when I was in my room and came back in the evening and felt the smell still there. I also felt the smell without sniffing on myself close which I used to do often to check the performance. This with no doubt a performer. #Longevity: well, I used on my shirt. I normall go with 7 sprays on any perfume as I don’t believe with the 1 spray thing as I barely smell it if I do lol. I sprayed on both shoulder as well. I washed my shirt the same day and while drying the shirt I never tried even once ti sniff if I can detect the my perfume yet I tried to for the first time. Well, I detected the smell still there not a little but very well. So longevity at its best as well. 12hrs I can say it can carry out. #Versatility: Its above average as well. Summer, Spring and Fall for sure. On winter if you are a fresh fragrance user, you can give a go as its more oud oriental than other western freshness. #AgeGroup: Its an unisex EDP. But more used for a men who work than young generation. Working women can give it a try too. #Occasion: For a formal event or business meet either day or evening, this can perform better. Not a sporty or date night kinda fragrance. Can be used for casual occasions but I would prefer it over formal occasions. For this perfume, I can give my rating as 9/10. Heavy earthy vetiver moss and sharp soapy citruses. Spice it up with some frankincense and Cardamoms and maybe some cedar. It took me a while to appreciate it. Its got the heaviness of Terre D Hermes. No sweet relief at all. Its a decent scent with a monstrous performance. No dirty Oud rose here. Unique stuff. Only wear a little.

This starts out as an overwheming blast of industrial strength bathroom cleaner. I really hated it the first time I wore it. But then I gave it a few more trys, and now I love. Just let it drydown, and it turns into a beutiful fragrance. Terrific longevity. One of my go to summer frags.

OMG, this is the worst perfume i ever had 🙂🙂🙂 I felt like i am a bathroom cleaner walking in street 🙂 Edit: I am sorry this is fantastic, just give it a time to understand.

Wow, this is the first time since testing Bond no. 9’s Wall Street about a year ago that I’ve been so divided about a perfume. I’m testing the EdP and the note pyramid here seems somewhat simplified : the thing that makes it unequivocally different from others is that the top notes left me thinking I had doused myself in a classic bathroom cleaner by mistake – very weird. It’s supposed to be just lime and grapefruit, but the interaction of notes is giving off something that smells a lot like a wet oil-like aloe vera soap also. In the heart it transitions over a floral note of lotus and some peppery carnation into the base of sandalwood and a hefty dose of musk (is this what others have described as oud?) which is pretty nice – but I swear that there’s some geranium in there as well as something more peach-like. I’m not really sure what to make of this, one moment I find it synthetic and cleaner-like and 5 minutes later I’m enjoying it very much. Again, not sure this one is for me, but it’s unique no doubt. Pro’s : nice drydown and overall a decent summer scent with very good performance. Con’s : the opening smells very much like generic bathroom cleaner to me - try before you buy!

Intense citrus opening....with an odd petroleum, almost engine room, type of edge to it. I agree with Aramis that it does have something rather heavy going on - could be this oily aspect together with the intense floral middle which seems to have clearly overtaken the citrus opening and is now masking any base notes.....or maybe it's the base giving the heavy oily quality ?? (Wish I was a trained nose !) I'm 2-3 hours into my first sample so will update later today - I like it, but haven't fallen in love with it as yet. As an Arabian EDP, it's VERY different from the Occidiental EDT's - I need to take this into consideration. UPDATE: I've worn this twice now and still find the same odd oily smell to it (could this be the Oud ??). It's very different from anything else I have - an Arabian EDP, which may react completely differently in hotter dryer climates. It's not something I could wear confidently as I don't think it works with my chemistry or climate. I'm by no means an expert, but I get a distinct feeling a hot arid climate & perspiration would probably set this off a lot better.

One of the most interesting frags I bought! This is a bomb in good way! Can't imagine men complaining about it!))) I 'm a woman who likes floral-aldehids , floral, delicate chypres , but I can't say about this one that it is heavy or weird. I even didn't know that is for men when I bought it for myself ))) Very light and tasty at the beginning and the base is just extraordinary! Overall is very unique scent! Bravo !!

Amazing performance and smell. People living in middle east can understand and appreciate this pefume. Western people who has less exposure of middle eastern fragrances might find it difficult to wear. I am a long time user of this fragrance and have received compliments. Infact people bought it because of me. scent is always a personal liking, its upto you but performance wise its a good performer.

Update: Took me a long time to understand this. Now in summer this shines very butiful citrusses Really sophisticated and manly . This is not eastern perfumery it is very much of an Middle eastern scent but also a very good one Perform very well not heavy but have a presence Can last for 6-8 hours.

I don't agree with the idea that it smells like bathroom cleaner. There is a creaminess in the back that is quite soft and enjoyable, I just wish the citrus or lotus were less harsh for a better unisex balance, but it probably suits well a masculine body chemistry.

You need to have a lot of body hair to pull this one off. Dense "vegetation", man velvet. Not for low T.

Great perfume .. highly recommended ..

i smell lots of spec and cardamom

This is a weird one. The opening, almost as everyone has said, smells like a cleaner because the lime and the grapefruit are not the best quality. They are too plastic and give that weird vibe. The drydown is way better when those citrus notes equate with the woods and the musk. Then it is still weird but in a good way... I think. Sometimes I do like it... sometimes I don't. It's weird one. Good performance, but at that price for a 50ml I expect something with a better quality ingredients. Overpriced.

This strong lime and strong eastern type oud together don't work for me , may be appealing to other people . Performance wise it is doing well , not a safe blind bye

I love middle Eastern fragrances and I enjoy the scent profiles but for me this perfume has been a negative for me. For the sake of saving time for myself and the reader I have to be honest and say that this 1 reminds me of moth balls or the cakes they put in urinals. It's abrasive and strong yes! But it's not a scent I'm enjoying. My brain just can't get over the fact that it reminds me of a urinal at the club. It's powerful and camphoric to my nose but if you like green, camphor like scents then go ahead. It lasts and lasts. For me it just reminds me of a public urinal and it isn't wearable for me. I don't want to smell like rubbing ointment. It may appeal to you It's very middle Eastern and has green and incense vibes but it just reminds me of those cakes that they put in club and mall urinals and its not how I would like to smell.

Well, at the risk of triggering anyone, I have to agree with the reviewers that mentioned bathroom cleaner. In fact, all I'm getting, specifically, is that old-school, powdered Comet Cleanser. That note, or combination of notes, overpowers anything else that might be in the mix. If you like that kind of thing though, I will say that it's got good projection and longevity...

When I first sprayed this I thought it smelled like cleaning fluid, and I hadn't read other reviews to prime that opinion for me. This has a terrible opening and there's huge agreement on that. The drydown is a lot better with florals/citrus/powdery/oud but this part is still not excellent and for sure does not justify the opening

Hands down the worst CPO I’ve sampled from Swiss Arabian. The smell is just bizarre, this sour, woody combo that does not work together.

One of the best citrusy Oud in the market. Very versatile fragrance. One of the ouds which can be worn during summers without cloying the heck out-of-air surrounding you. 2-3 sprays maximum will stay for 10-12 hrs for sure,even in humid Indian weather condition! some have said ,it smells toilet cleaner/synthetic/cockroach spray ..yes if you go too much on the trigger may be.. My rule --> test the potency of the frags by adjusting the number of sprays until its the right amount --its like tuning your guitar.. for that perfect frequency..So , its a strong concentrated perfume not CK the ONE so go light on the trigger..

I like Swiss Arabian for the most part. Well priced and some decent inspiration fragrances amongst their collection. Rakaan? Absolutely not, terrible. Sorry but if you have to be so specialised in fragrances to appreciate this then I don’t see the point, as others around you will also be subjected to it. At this price point, naturally it is fully synthetic notes which, as someone else noted, resembles some kind of cleaning product. I don’t advise blind buying at all. There are better fresh fragrances around for a little more money than this costs. Mont Blanc Individuel will blow this out of the water, I assure you.

I keep buying Arabian perfumes to find a special rose perfume I once encountered. I never found it again. Sigh. I do not know this fragrance but I like the poster at the top of the page - the model looks like a normal bloke who wandered into the shoot by accident. I like his expression. I like the fact he does not look like a male model. A fragrance that smells like the endearing expression on his face would be attractive to me. Where? Where? Not amongst the oily ouds I suspect.

I first smelled this scent at a Swiss Arabian store in Dubai and absolutely loved it. I've worn it on numerous occasions and many have asked what it was with none saying it reminded them of bathroom cleaner. (lucky you) So with that in mind I no longer fill the need to read reviews on this site as what is being said is probably not an accurate assessment of the product in the first place. I'll go with samples and decide on my own. Thanks all for saving me a lot of time.

Blind bought this based on all the positives reviews online-amazon & otherwise and was excited to try it. after the first spray I had to face the reality i made a mistake with this purchase. decided to give it one more try weeks later without success. it does have a type of bathroom disinfectant smell that is not attractive. so now the fragrance & box sit in the back of my closet reminding me of how a overhyped fragrance can be a total let down.

A supernaturally amplified, sherbert-lemon toilet cleaner from hell. I've scrubbed and scrubbed but I simply cannot remove the stench of this god-awful, nauseating muck. This will hopefully teach me to be cautious when taking speculative squirts from weird crap I find in charity shops...

Smells like windex. All of these swiss arabian fragrances are horribly synthetic and smell like cleaning products I never knew what people meant when they say something smells like a cleaning product until now.

i just bought it on recommendation of my friend , 5 out 5 for me. a very addicted and deep fragrance. the longevity and silage is extraordinary. will recommend to anyone who is fond of middle east perfumes.

(review for the oil) Unfortunately this really smells like bathroom cleaner, and I usually love every citrus perfume I can find. There isn't much more to say on this. 3/5

This is a very harsh nauseating fragrance, so heavy and trouble-maker! It lasts a lot, but what benefits from a heavy shit? sorry.

Nothing special, simple citrus and woody. Totally synthetic. Got a sample, nothing I would consider buying.

sophisticated stuff: heavier version of Shaik 70 and long-lasting

This is great and one of the best of Swiss Arabian perfumes
