Royal Mystery

WHIPPED PEAR & FREESIA CHYPRE. Opening with a burst of pear & melon that deepens into a velvety rose & pear heart, all resting on a chypre base that's so fluffy you could swear there is marshmallow in it. The base is composed of musk, amber, patchouli & rhubarb that combine to give a fluffy chypre vibe., while the rhubarb here, to my nose, is fainter than the notes would suggest. A nice cross between English Pear & Freesia Jo Malone and Armani Si, but closer to Armani Si. Contrast to Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia: These are different, but there are some striking similarities in the profile with pear & freesia and in the notes overall. Royal Mystery has a much bolder approach and outperforms. Contrast to Armani Si: These are different but have a similar vibe with a rosy heart on a fluffy chypre. Si is a little more vanilla forward and a little sharper in the top notes while the whipped quality is more forward in Royal Mystery. RM doesn't have the perfume-y vibe present in Armani Si. Contrast to Delina Parfums de Marly: These are different, but there is a similar vibe. Delina has a rhubarb that's more forward and doesn't read as chypre to my nose. Contrast to Dazzle Al Haramain: These are different, but there are some striking similarities wih a rosy heart on a fluffy chypre base. Dazzle has some more forward herbal qualities in the opening and a more forward patchouli, but as it dries down, it becomes more and more similar to Royal Mystery. Both have excellent performance. Contrast to Irresistible EDP Givenchy: Very different but there are some similarities in the openings with pear. The drydowns go in different direction with RM becoming a rosy fluffy chypre, and Irresistible becoming a pear-amber scent. Overall: powerhouse performance and a beautiful scent profile, this beauty is FB worthy. It's a love for me. 10/10. Enjoy!

Mine is 2 years old now and I finally realized what the problem is. I was trying to wear it during the summer. He was just to sweet and headache inducing in the summer. I just tried it now and it's 45° in here and it smells absolutely phenomenal. It's effervescent. The rhubarb is lovely. This is a flirty fun scent. There's nothing mature about it unless you layered it with some musk or Oud perhaps. I like it as is now that I have figured out where the notes shine. It is half the price it was when I first bought it. You can pretty much pick up this huge bottle for 30 bucks. That is insane considering how long it lasts And it's actually quite good.

Picture a pale pink carriage that's spherical in shape like a melon ball. Inside it's outfitted in pale pink velvet upholstery and fluffy cushions, with a bar that's serving pink smoothies ready for Cinderella. Wearing this I feel like Cinderella for sure, or a princess at least, and ready to fall in love. Although I haven't smelled English Pear & Freesia Joe Malone, what makes this different from Delina PDM and the like, is the smoothness of the pear-melon combo, and rhubarb is way toned down here.

This is very sweet. It immediately reminds me of Afnan Modest Deux, but this is even sweeter imo. It also reminds me of Wanted Girl By Night Azzaro in that it is sweet and has that artificial grape candy/soda smell but less obnoxiously artificial grape if that made sense. Lol! I really enjoy this smell, but this fruity sugar bomb isn't for everyone!

It’s as if Delina, Jo Malone Pear & Freesia & D&G L’impératrice had a baby. I love it!!!!! One of my favorite spring/summer fragrances atm. I had to buy a back up bottle yesterday

This fragrance is so beautiful and reminds me of some 90s shampoos! Pure nostalgia in this bottle!

I bought the sample set from Swiss Arabian purely for this fragrance because I am in love with English Pear and Freesia by Jo Malone, and wanted a more affordable alternative. Because the notes are the same, given in different amounts, the fragrances are obviously VERY similar. However, there are small differences, such as rose and rhubarb being more prominent in this fragrance than freesia and musk/patchouli in English Pear (the freesia is still very noticeable, though). Overall comparison is that the openings are nearly identical and the dry downs are pretty different, as Royal Mystery leans more sweet and candy-like than English pear and freesia. In contrast, eng pear and freesia leans more "natural" and airy, while being more floral, patchouli-centered. IMO subtle differences in fragrance but huge in price tag, so unless you really want an exact dupe, I would suggest this. Lasts longer, dry down has a bit more floral fruity sweetness, but it's 100 dollars cheaper.

This one is a fresh, fruity purple floral scent. I detect mostly sweet fruits, like lychee and a mix of florals like rose and freesia. It's not as good as Joe Malone's English Pear and Freesia. But it's pretty good for the price. English Pear and Freesia is more of a delicate creamy pear, slightly-green floral scent. Royal Mystery is a stronger, more muddled fruity floral scent. Smell: 7 out of 10 Longevity: 8 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.

Very generic smelling perfume...Smells exactly like Armaf Niche Gold which I gave to my mom...leans more mature

I can kinda, sorta, maybe see how this would bring JM English Pear & Freesia to mind at first spray, but it really isn't a dupe. At all. It's an easy-to-wear, fruity-ish frag that leans into an ambery/vanilla-y vibe relatively quickly.

Overly sweet, headache-inducing, and boring.

This is a champagne fragrance WITHOUT the cream. Sweet and sparkling. Effervescent and a little sour. To my nose the two notes that stand out the most are the roses and rhubarb. The rhubarb is bright and similar to an unripened strawberry, while the rose is fresh and very bright as well. I'm not getting very much pear and melon but there is a touch of sweetness. This is not a fragrance for people who're strictly into creamy gourmands. It's not a sugary sweet scent. The musk and patchouli at the base keeps it from soaring too high, but still the Roses and Rhubarb take center stage even in the dry down. I believe this is the closest thing to smelling like Champagne, so don't wear this at work. Your boss may think you've been hitting the bottle. At the moment it's 33° outside and this could be why I'm getting some sour notes? Therefore I'm going to hold on to this one and see what happens in the Spring and Summer time. ☀️ FYI This is very similar to English Pear & Freesia From Jo Malone. Royal Mystery is less expensive and longer lasting as most Swiss Arabian fragrances are. 💋 Update: It's two months later and I can now smell the pear in the opening. Today's weather is 59° and I have a feeling that this might be a Summer time hit!

Fruity floral deliciousness that has plenty of anchors to keep it going; patchouli, amber and musk, although they don’t dominate. Pear and freesia do. A fantastic value for such a long lasting scent. Don’t overspray because it’s a beast. Swiss Arabian is such a great brand. If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it. It’s not all strong Oud and incense either, although that is available as well. I have mostly blind bought, but there is a sampler pack. My favorites include this one, Casablanca, Crystal Rose, Sher al Sheila(candied rose Oud), Wajd, and Hamsa. Reasonable prices but some of them, like Casablanca ( Carmel Apple), are going up due to popularity, so I would jump in now.

When I read the reviews comparing this scent to grape soda, shampoo, & champagne, I couldn’t resist. I love shampoo-like scents, though I know many people don’t. So, when I smell Royal Mystery, I definitely pick up on the comparisons to grape soda & champagne. It’s almost like peach schnapps in grape soda. What I didn’t expect was a whiff of something almost like nag champa incense. It’s as if the pear & amber decided to masquerade as frangipani & sandalwood. It’s not shampooey in an Herbal Essences way, but I can see maaaybe how someone might think it leans Garnier Fructis. I’m very pleased with the scent.

I've had mine for a few months and the scent has stayed the same after maceration. I don't get any of the top or mid notes listed. What I do get is a strong somewhat green violet and patchouli. This is very purple flower and patchouli forward. There's also a sharp undertone that might be coming from the rhubarb. I keep wanting to like it But it falls far short. Some people might like this but this is not blind buy worthy. Definitely a strong projector but it's projecting a scent I don't really like. Might try layering it with other perfumes to see if I can get it to work because it's too late to return it.

!!! I actually gasped when I put this on. I have a sample of English Pear and Freesia from Jo Malone and if you want that smell but actually long lasting, this is the one. On me it smells almost exactly the same, but I totally understand the other comparisons and descriptions of it. It's gorgeous. I showered and it's still on my skin in the most non-offensive way. So beautiful. And so so so worth the money, which isn't that big of a dent anyway.

The idea of a dupe for Jo Malone English Pear and Fressia only with longevity is a dream and it’s so affordable! Unfortunately I don’t think they are that similar let alone dupes. I can not smell pear in Royal Mystery. The rhubarb, rose, and amber are all amped up. The heavy amber dry down has an almost smoke quality to it. It’s pleasant and lasts a really long time but not what I personally was hoping for.

Someone below said its like Sí had a baby with JM Pear and Freesia. Yup. Exactly like that. From the box I could smell the fresh pear. The sourness of the rhubarb adds a little ting. Not like in Delina. But its just done well here. Very well blended. No alcohol smell. Just 🤌🏾

Absolutely getting a blast of pear and freesia in the opening but very very quickly and despite having far fewer notes, this somehow turns into the Muglers Angel I knew and loved in the late 90s. Sillage and longevity stronger than average. Fruity for sure!
