#60 of My Fragrance Journey - Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Men: The Architecture of the Pristine Shaghaf Men isn’t trying to overthrow anything. It’s not here for drama. It’s here to look clean. Sharp. Put-together. And it does that... very well. This is fresh laundry energy, bottled. A crisp white shirt, freshly pressed, collar straight, no wrinkles, no questions asked. Minimal, curated, easy to wear. Office? Street? Gym-to-coffee? Sorted. The opening hits fast and bright. Calamansi leads the charge - zesty, juicy, almost electric - mixed with that familiar aquatic freshness. Yes, it leans shower-gel clean, but a good one. Polished. More boutique grooming than drugstore aisle. It gives that instant “I’ve got my life together” impression, whether that’s true or not. But then... it stays polite. This is where I pause. The cinnamon and black amber are technically there, but they’re more suggestion than statement. Little flickers. Nothing that really grounds it or pulls it into darker territory. The aquatic freshness stays in control, keeps everything light, youthful, safe. If you like your scents clean and optimistic, you’ll be happy. If you want weight, shadow, or a bit of danger? You might keep waiting. Performance follows the same philosophy. It settles close to the skin fairly quickly - within an hour for me - and stays there quietly for about 4–6 hours. Not bad, but very intimate. This isn’t a room-filler. It’s a personal bubble. Polite. Well-behaved. Maybe a bit too eager to be liked. So... Shaghaf Men works. It’s reliable. Inoffensive. Effortless. Perfect for heat, meetings, errands, gym bags, and everyday life. Clean charisma, no friction. But let’s be honest - this “force of nature” is more breeze than storm. It doesn’t haunt. It doesn’t linger after midnight. It’s the scent they notice while you’re there, not the one that clings to the room once you’ve left. Wow, just wow! Just receive it, bought blindly. Paid about 13.5$ for 75 ml bottle. What a wonderful perfume! Indeed it smells similar to PR Black XS for men, but in the late drydown they are a little bit different. Smells more expensive than its price. A little bit sweeter than Black XS, but still acceptable even for a grizzled man like me, who usually don't like sweet perfumes. Pleased to meet you Swiss Arabian! Highly recommended! PS: I'll edit my review to add impressions about performances. As far as I can tell now, it seems to me a very strong perfume. Let's see... EDIT: performance seems to be very good, with heavy sillage in first two hours, then calms down gradually and projects good for 1-2 hours more. Longevity is very good, more than 6-7 hours, with an expected decreasing projection. On clothes it smells more than 24 hours. A very, very happy blind buy. Smell - 10/10 Longevity - 9/10 (don't forget, it's a perfume for warm seasons) Sillage - 8/10 (same as above) Overall - 9/10

Shaghaf was a blind buy that turned out to be a hidden ace with an understanding of what it is! I have really enjoyed this fragrance, wearing it during high heat months in the summer. It's a soft, semi-sweet aquatic scent with a shower gel-like quality. I don't get much of the spicier notes such cinnamon or amber that is listed. Like most aquatic scents, it tends to stay close to the body with a decent amount of projection. I experienced about 4 hours of mild projection, with an additional 4 hours of scent coming closer to the body. It’s been a great scent for high heat, casual wear, or for wearing to work on 90+ degree temp days. Been trying out some cheap Arabian fragrances recently and this one is a stand out. I get sweet praline, citrus and cardamom for the first 15/20 minutes and then the beachy floral notes kick in and wow, it smells so good. As mentioned the heavy projection (it is heavy) lasts for an hour tops, and then people you brush past will probably be able to smell you for the next few hours, but the skin scent lasts all day on me. Definite crowd pleaser, you'll smell like an ice cream van parked beside the beach - this one is being slept on for sure. 8.5/10

The best blended freshie I own... It is far more complex than its price tag may suggest, but it's simplicity makes it a versatile frag than can be enjoyed for any occasion in any weather. It could be an elite Springtime wedding attendee's fragrance for men or a post gym freshie as you set off on your way to grab a coffee. It can accompany a finely crafted suit or a fine pair of athletic cut jeans and tee. I can't imagine that one would find a fragrance much more superior in this price range. I dub it as "special"~

I'm sure I've smell something similar mid-eastern house but can't remember exactly what it is. Based on the note breakdown, this is a very mandarin orange dominant in the opening and until the dry down I can still smell it. Silage would be good for the first couple of hours, but the longevity is amazing. I can still smell it on my skin even after 8-9 hours. I can say this a good year rounder and a daytime scent and a safe blind buy. Well balanced blend, not too overly sweet. I like it. 8/10

WOW!!!! This fragrance just wowed me!!! It is AMAZINGGG!!! i had bought a set with slaghaf oud, oud aswad and this one, and this one surprised me the most!! Especially because it is marketed towards men... but to be honest I think this is a 100% unisex fragrance and I would definitely wear this a lot! It is perfect for the summer night on holidays. A juicy and sexy mix between praline and orange. Insane combination! Amazing sillage and a good longevity! very happy with this blind buy :)

i bought my first bottle of this back in february, and bought another as part of a gift set with other shaghaf frags. one thing i’ve noticed is i enjoy my more recent bottle far more. it’s less watery and has more of a fruity freshness than sweetness. the more recent bottle lasts and projects longer too. anyways, love this fragrance, especially for the price

Este perfume sorprende con una salida de dulce madera con puntos cítricos frutales. Delicioso aroma fresco, perfecto para la primavera y el verano. No descarten usarlo también en días soleados de otoño e invierno. Si tan solo durara mas, sería comparable con perfumes mucho mas costosos. Pero por su precio es un 10/10. Muy bueno.

As a girl that has a very eclectic collection, I really like this one for when I want something refreshing with lavender/citrus in a light and moderate complex fragrance with a bit of spice and wood in the dry down where I can still smell the lavender. I enjoy it. And would like to smell this on a man as a freshie. 💚💚

Great fragrance, it's fresh and a good daily. For the price couldn't do better. My wife being really picky, loves this smell on me. With the chinese orange, you get a little hint of pineapple as well. Overall 9/10 for a fresh fragrance and 6.5/10 for the longevity. Lasts only around 3 hours on my skin and clothes.

This is not a clone of XS at all,it does reminds on XS but Shaghaf is more sweeter and last longer than XS...Love the opening notes of orange that instantly hit my nose,fresh and warm at the same time...Summer perfume... Scent 9/10 Longevity 8/10 Silage 8/10 Projection 8/10 Price 10/10 (100ml $24)

Im not sure if this is the best description, but this seems like if you had a fruit flavored ice cream, this would be the sherbet version of it. Its really good, but just has that extra pizazz. Im a big fan of this. Its cheap, it lasts a while, smells unique to me, and doesnt give me a headache.

Its a good fragrance but more than 5 spray can give a bad headache and smells really synthetic, the dry down is really synthetic and its not smooth at all. If you want casual summer fragrance this will be good but dont expect any compliments cus you will smell like a processed orange juice

If you want to smell fresh, clean, aromatic and sweet in day time, this is the perfume you can use. even if you spray it more than enough like 6-8 spray, it is still safe and not offensive to others or to yourself. you can't go wrong with this stuff. very cheap EDP 75 ml. $12/-. why not??

This can be easily worn by anyone! It's a fantastic option for those hot days. Bright and fresh, dries down with this delicious sweetness. It's addictive! I'm a female and have received compliments from both men and women. Best of all, this perfume is ridiculously affordable.

I blind buy it and i am happy; its a pleasant summer beast. Today is my first wear at work and it feels magnificent. i love it. good performer, it is now six hours i sprayed and still i feel the puff. Happy with the price to performance ratio.

Starts out like Black XS L'Exces, finishes like Dior Sauvage. The opening doesn't last too long, but the ambroxan heavy Sauvage-like drydown seems to last forever. Overall, a great scent for the price.

I agree with xoxoMyke, this is a nicer clone of Black XS L'Exces, not the original Black XS. More pineapple less strawberry. Still really good, especially for the price.

I don't know why it is rated 3.8 but this is an easily wearable mass appealing frag, not complex but it is a very good everyday wear longevity is above average too

The most striking thing about this fragrance is the opening. It opens with a burst of sweetness which I did not expect before buying, judging from the top notes (chinese orange, lemon, lavender). After 20-30 mins, this starts to dry down to a much more pleasant scent with less sweetness with a more aromatic profile. The lavender note definitely gives the aromatic tone you would expect but this fragrance is nothing citric, it is much more fruity. I get a sense of apple and plum as prominent notes although they are not listed in the perfume pyramid. This is not a very fresh scent either, I think it is more suitable for night wear and late summer/early fall days. It could be kind of overwhelming in a hot spring/summer day. If you are looking for a fresh summer fragrance, just get something more green with strong oceanic notes, this perfume is not what you are looking for. This is more of a super versatile fall/winter fragrance that could be appealing in a work environment or even a night out. Longevity on my skin is around 6 hours, so pretty good for this price point. I would recommend having this fragrance on your collection alongside a more fresh spring/summer scent (some clone of an Invictus Aqua), and you are pretty much set. You can use these two for all seasons and always smell nice and clean.

For a fragrance you can find under $20, maybe it's counterintuitive to suggest sampling, but that's what I'll always recommend regardless. I'm a bit more of a seasoned collector, so I wanted to try this after having the Shaghaf Oud in the gold bottle. Maybe it's the rose dominating SO, but I just didn't love how that smelt off my skin...it's a good fragrance, but for someone else. Shaghaf Men on the other hand has been a very good surprise. Off my skin and to my nose, there's a smooth musk, especially in the drydown even if it's not in the note breakdown. It's that musk that pulls this fragrance together off my skin, but I sprayed it in the air, it smelled like a typical sweet fragrance with that orange. Off skin, there's more depth to this fragrance. My favorite parts of this fragrance is the mid and drydown with the musk, amber, and a touch of praline. Longevity is no problem at all, 10 hours easily for me (but fragrance cling to my skin normally). The projection is good the first 2 hours for sure, then slowly dials back. Very solid juice, but love it's versatility.

After reading other's comments, I think this acts different on everybody. On me (natural tanned, fair skin) I get a minty 'azzaro wanted by night' openings. It baffles me that none poited that out... Then, settles to a more calm greenish (Cypres?) cinnamon patchouli base after an hour. These notes listed here I get only some of the middles ones, none of the top notes or citruses on me. none of the base notes other than patchouli... very odd. no mint mentioned in notes either, but it's there, again can be different on anybody. test on skin before buying. My rating is: likable scent 7.5/10 medium projection in 1 hour - arm's lenth 6/10 skin scent after 2 hours on my skin 4/10 versatility: can wear 3/4 seasons day and night (not summer) 8/10 masterpiece? no worth trying? yes unique? depends :)

This fragrance is “safe”, as a clean freshie. Nothing groundbreaking here. This is a fresh scent, reminiscent of a shower gel, or similar. This reminds me of when I worked at an office, we all would go to workout during an extended lunch, the smell of the locker room when we all were done showering and grooming, the combination of everyone’s shower gel, freshie colognes, deodorants, after shaves, etc...this is what the is fragrance smells like. It’s not bad, especially for the price. Will I wear this?- yeah,,,probably when I have nothing to do and just want to smell fresh. Definitely not for date night, or even a guys night out. There is a limited space for a scent like this. Safe for office, errands, and a safe scent around newbies.

Good fragrance at a very decent price in the Middle East. I get fresh sea notes and “warm lemon tea” on the opening, that dries through to patchouli, light woods and some sweet floral notes in the background. I enjoy the life of this fragrance, but I have many daytime scents I prefer (BdC, Terre D’Hermes, Dior Homme sport). Lasts very long (around 8-10 hours on my skin), projects well and sillage is decent. This is an enjoyable scent that could be worn while doing errands, jeans-and-t-shirt type of fragrance. I would say this is a safe blind-buy for autumn, spring and summer in the daytime. Recommend: MEH Rating: 3.75/5

usually I don't dare to buy asian brands because I'm afraid I'll end up with something too exotic for my european nose. I gave this a try because it looked more "ordinary" than others from this line and it's actually marketed for men unlike gold, white and black flankers. I like it a lot, certainly mass appealing and enjoyable to everyone around you. just imagine a delicious ice cream with a lot of fruits in it - that's you after two or three sprays of Shaghaf. good performance, great price.

This juice behaves very interesting, because when I wore it, I could barely feel on my skin, I could smell like a fresh citrusy Black XS, but I sold it to my colleague and on him was very strong and alike a fresh camomille :D I like better on him than on me. The top is very fresh citrus like a toilet freshener :D but it transforms to sweeter wood, as a whole stuff is like a citrusy Black XS on my skin. On me sits close and lasts 2-3 hours unfortunately :(

First impression: I have to say this smells pretty close to how I remember Black XS L'exces flanker smelled. I'm over the moon having finally found something that smells so similar to one of my favourite (now discontinued) fragrances as I preferred L'exces to the original Black XS (it's not even close). The original Black XS comparison is valid only in terms of how similar Black XS L'exces was to the original. Have yet to test it fully.

I like this fragrance quite a bit. Its a smidge synthetic to me but overall a sweet, balsamic, fresh summer frag. Imagine yourself on a summer day wearing a crisp white tee, your jewelry of choice, light denim pants and your fav kicks. You know how some people refer to certain fragrances as shower gel/generic? Well this is that but middle eastern and upgraded to 5 stars imo. It has average longevity so maybe go for extra sprays.

To me I dont get any of the base notes... To me the water notes and fruit notes come through the most. How can I explain this... "@ a water park or in you backyard pool with a cherry slushy" I actually get a strong water note like a water hose in the summer heat! In a good way. My wife likes it. Fresh and clean summer juice. The water note is crazy to me. Nice experience on hot days!

a freshie with a soft oud dry down... I like it you can go heavy on the trigger. Sillage last about an hour or so then it sits close to skin I wear it to the gym non offensive good clean fragrance but can be worn anytime I believe... it's a unique enough to be worn on night outs

Cheapie that got me trough summer 2021. Borderline beast mode intended for summer clubbing/nights out. Not much into note breakdown but it has that sweet pine tree forest right next to the beach. Repurchase? Sure. Unique & Collection worthy.

Generic , lovely fruity freshie , wear it if you want to smell nice to everyone around you , price in the middle east is around $16 , very suitable to wear it in your home after the shower so everyone gets pleased

Uplifting freshie with lots of juicy citrus paired with a sweet ambroxan base that's not overwhelming. Perfectly unisex to my nose. Warm, and hot weather is best for this.

This just went from Ok to Like. The dry down on my skin smells too animalic and bitter benzoin. On clothes I found this fresh and woody citrusy...

Im getting just straight Mango.. comparable to blockade from mind games but without the aventus vibe. Not impressive.. probably won’t wear this.

A sweeter version of Paco Rabanne's Black XS for men. An enjoyable smell but too sweet for my taste.

#570 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is my seventh try with a Swiss Arabian scent, two of which I gave barely passing grades, and this isn't one of those. I paid $10 for this on Amazon. Basically it's Paco Rabanne Black XS with better longevity as a skin scent, but about the same projection, i.e. none, for $45 less. Personally, I found the poor performance of Black XS enough of a disappointment that I gave it away. Cologne level, maybe fraiche level at best. I don't know how much I would have worn it anyway because the scent itself is a kitchen sink of agglomerated notes with no real character, at least none I could describe, and this Swiss Arabian scent duplicates that formula in agonizing detail. The projection of the XS was so weak that a girlfriend literally had to sniff my skin to pick it up less than an hour after spraying. That was pathetic even for an EDT, and her reaction to the scent was, "Meh." This scent does not improve on the projection at all. Shaghaf for Men is sold as an EDP but it's not even close. The fragrance it clones, Black XS, is sold as an EDT and performs like a fraiche, and costs $45 more. For me, at $10, this was worth a try, but I would recommend you pass on it, unless Black XS really tickles your fancy for some reason. If you liked that scent and were pleased with it, you'll be more pleased with this as it holds up longer at substantial savings. But for me, neither is worth bothering with.

For those wondering, this is more like Paco Rabanne - Black L'Exces (2012) not the original Black XS (2005 version). The difference is the sea notes more than anything they added. If you've tried both of them you'll agree it's more Black L'Exces than Black XS. The opening - it's undeniable they were going for Black L'Exces, they added much more freshness. Almost fresh laundry like if I was to describe the freshness. By the dry down - The sweetness starts to fade a little and you're left with this fresh laundry like scent stays, it becomes more airy with some slight spicy undertones. My 2 cents anyways. Try Dumont - Exciting Insense instead. it's still not 100% the same as Black L'Exces but just better made, and yes, it's Insense on the bottle, they were trying to be cool! This isn't very close to Rave - Now or Lattafa Qaaed Al Fursan. Those are practically pineapple juice, more day time versions of Black XS (2005), I own both of those and anyone can spot the difference. To me it's a big deal to get a clone of Black L'Exces because it's been discontinued for ages. The good news is that my family member I bought this for enjoys it, someone new to fragrances will more than likely have no problem wearing this, but if you know either Paco Rabanne fragrance. Chances are you'll be somewhat disappointed.

Yeah, do not believe the people in the reviews. It is a 15–20 € fragrance; expect it to be mediocre at most. Good for a 12–18-year-old, but if you are older, please, I beg you, get your shit together. Smells meh—forgettable—and the drydown is hideous, as expected. I remember being in my room and just spraying it to throw it away once it was empty, to at least fool myself into thinking that the money I spent was worth it. Save yourself the 20 € and put them toward another fragrance. Do not blind buy this or any other perfume.

Smells like a unisex shampoo . I get something like a pear or peach mixed with a slight sweetness and something giving off what seems to be a shower gel/shampoo cleanliness. The more I smell it the more masculine it is but for some reason it still smells like a woman’s shampoo lol. My final verdict is a pear shampoo with masculine woods.

Spicy green profile paired with Arabian-style aromatics and an ambroxan base. Solid projection for maybe 5-6 hours, with the scent bubble receding afterward. Good on hot days, but it's kind of eclectic and harsh for me personally. Ingredients feel synthetic and cheap and it ends up coming off like clorox or pine-sol

La primera vez que la oli me pareció demasiado fuerte y me olía muy sintética, pero es en la apertura, luego se vuelve más dócil, algo dulce, con un olor complicado de describir, nunca había olido algo parecido. Es fresca, tiene buena duración, estela y proyección. No recomiendo comprarla a ciegas.
