Shaghaf Oud Elixir

Scent: The scent is very nice and lovely! It definitely is one of my best pick-ups of this year. The scent starts off with a dose of oud, rose, and praline. After a while you'll start to notice the rose and oud dial back a bit, while the vanilla starts to emerge and become more prominent. I personally don't get the musk nor the sage, which I would've wanted, because that would've made it a bit different from the EDP. Now, is the Elixir version different from the EDP? No, not really, unfortunately. The only difference to me is that the rose and oud are more prominent in the opening of the Elixir in comparison to the EDP. The rose note here is more on the fruitier side, which I like. Other than that, the Elixir is pretty much redundant. Personally, I like having both in my collection. I'll definitely be rocking these in the late fall and winter. Overall great scent! Performance: Now, when it comes to the performance this is Beast Mode just like the EDP. This Elixir fills a whole room for like an hour to 90mins. It projects beastly for like 3hrs and after that it is still performing very nicely at arm's length. This is a scent that you'll constantly get big whiffs of throughout it's Longevity. As for the longevity, this is 12hrs+. I could still smell it on my skin the next day. The Sillage is also great. It will leave a massive trail and cling to the air for the first 1hr to 90mins. Great Performance! Seasons: This fragrance is definitely for late Fall & Winter. I wouldn't use this fragrance for the warmer or hotter days at all, it's too cloying. Maybe you could use it in early Spring nights, but not late Spring Price: This is a great deal when you look at the performance, scent profile, and quality. I paid $35 for it, what a deal! Great bang for your buck!

On initial spray I had a slight flashback to some of mfk ouds I had previously, it's not as sickly sweet or extremely polarizing as mfk. Not saying it's trying to be a clone. Definitely a good place if you want to add something oud heavy in your collection. Opens up really woody and that oud really kicks in instantly, nice honey like opening sweetness but only for a few minutes and then it settles and starts to open up the nice aromatic spicyness. Saffron is nice and prominent throughout working nice with that slight pepperiness , the rose is nice, opens up silky and creamy working with those nice hints of musk, expanding to a more natural/ realistic rosy scent, not oversaturated, not too mature or vintage style, not soapy or synthetic feeling as well, nice ambery vanilla sweetness to kind of keep all of those aromatics all together. Nice, sexy and elegant fragrance. I'd say that at a point I can get slight grapefruit zest notes even. Really versatile and easy to pull off scent for both men and women. I really enjoy sniffing this on my skin. Performance is great, price is spot on. One can easily wear it anytime except for extreme heats of 30 ish and more degrees. Great for dinner nights or just to complete your daily styling, if you just wanna feel nice and sexy. Probably even office environment if you don't overspray it. I'm starting to really fall for this frag from the get go. Great job.

I was already impressed by the OG Shaghaf Oud - a sweet, jammy, praline‐heavy, loud rose‐oud bomb. Elixir keeps that original DNA but introduces a more complex composition. It’s more niche‐leaning and less dessert‐like. Both are strong, but in different ways. Shaghaf Oud Gold is louder, sweeter, and more diffusive. Elixir is darker, richer, and more resinous. The sweetness is toned down slightly and there is a suede/leathery vibe to it. It smells like darker woods, deeper resins, and a subtle smoky undertone. It leans into a smoky rose‐oud profile with a more mature feel. Overall, it comes across as more Middle Eastern. The saffron, rose, and oud feel amplified in this, giving Elixir greater depth and a character closer to a modern mukhallat than the original. Elixir feels suited to evening wear. With its added sage and spices, this Elixir is even more of a love for me than the OG - this is another elevated, classy release from Swiss Arabian.

It's indistinguishable from the original of which I'm a big fan. Possibly ever so slightly less sweet but not noticeablely so unless directly comparing immediately after applying. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart on other people. I couldn't tell them apart on myself when I confused which fragrance I had put on which arm. Disappointing as it's no different, it's not even stronger, doesn't last longer. It's actually starting to fade earlier than the original which isn't what I expected with the word "elixir" in the name. For that reason only I'd say the original (and cheaper) one is superior. Reformulations change from the original fragrance significantly more than this flanker does. It's definitely redundant if you have the original, which is identical but radically longer lasting. I'm sticking with the OG.

This is Mrs. Thorfinn's favorite on me. I've had my Shaghaf Oud Elixir for a few months now and have burned through half of my bottle already. This was my introduction to Swiss Arabian and to Middle Eastern fragrances and now I'm hooked! I was afraid the rose might be to feminine, but they have kept the sweetness with the praline somehow. I love it. It is like spraying the most sophisticated, gourmet spiced chocolate wherever you point the atomizer. I live in Florida and I rock this in all weather--it has become my signature. Most often I use it as a base. This stuff has some power so some discretion is a good idea. Over top elbows and my shirt I'll often layer with a freshy. I blind bought mine based on social media hype with no regrets.
