Shaghaf Oud Elixir

Scent: The scent is very nice and lovely! It definitely is one of my best pick-ups of this year. The scent starts off with a dose of oud, rose, and praline. After a while you'll start to notice the rose and oud dial back a bit, while the vanilla starts to emerge and become more prominent. I personally don't get the musk nor the sage, which I would've wanted, because that would've made it a bit different from the EDP. Now, is the Elixir version different from the EDP? No, not really, unfortunately. The only difference to me is that the rose and oud are more prominent in the opening of the Elixir in comparison to the EDP. The rose note here is more on the fruitier side, which I like. Other than that, the Elixir is pretty much redundant. Personally, I like having both in my collection. I'll definitely be rocking these in the late fall and winter. Overall great scent! Performance: Now, when it comes to the performance this is Beast Mode just like the EDP. This Elixir fills a whole room for like an hour to 90mins. It projects beastly for like 3hrs and after that it is still performing very nicely at arm's length. This is a scent that you'll constantly get big whiffs of throughout it's Longevity. As for the longevity, this is 12hrs+. I could still smell it on my skin the next day. The Sillage is also great. It will leave a massive trail and cling to the air for the first 1hr to 90mins. Great Performance! Seasons: This fragrance is definitely for late Fall & Winter. I wouldn't use this fragrance for the warmer or hotter days at all, it's too cloying. Maybe you could use it in early Spring nights, but not late Spring Price: This is a great deal when you look at the performance, scent profile, and quality. I paid $35 for it, what a deal! Great bang for your buck!

On initial spray I had a slight flashback to some of mfk ouds I had previously, it's not as sickly sweet or extremely polarizing as mfk. Not saying it's trying to be a clone. Definitely a good place if you want to add something oud heavy in your collection. Opens up really woody and that oud really kicks in instantly, nice honey like opening sweetness but only for a few minutes and then it settles and starts to open up the nice aromatic spicyness. Saffron is nice and prominent throughout working nice with that slight pepperiness , the rose is nice, opens up silky and creamy working with those nice hints of musk, expanding to a more natural/ realistic rosy scent, not oversaturated, not too mature or vintage style, not soapy or synthetic feeling as well, nice ambery vanilla sweetness to kind of keep all of those aromatics all together. Nice, sexy and elegant fragrance. I'd say that at a point I can get slight grapefruit zest notes even. Really versatile and easy to pull off scent for both men and women. I really enjoy sniffing this on my skin. Performance is great, price is spot on. One can easily wear it anytime except for extreme heats of 30 ish and more degrees. Great for dinner nights or just to complete your daily styling, if you just wanna feel nice and sexy. Probably even office environment if you don't overspray it. I'm starting to really fall for this frag from the get go. Great job.

I was already impressed by the OG Shaghaf Oud - a sweet, jammy, praline‐heavy, loud rose‐oud bomb. Elixir keeps that original DNA but introduces a more complex composition. It’s more niche‐leaning and less dessert‐like. Both are strong, but in different ways. Shaghaf Oud Gold is louder, sweeter, and more diffusive. Elixir is darker, richer, and more resinous. The sweetness is toned down slightly and there is a suede/leathery vibe to it. It smells like darker woods, deeper resins, and a subtle smoky undertone. It leans into a smoky rose‐oud profile with a more mature feel. Overall, it comes across as more Middle Eastern. The saffron, rose, and oud feel amplified in this, giving Elixir greater depth and a character closer to a modern mukhallat than the original. Elixir feels suited to evening wear. With its added sage and spices, this Elixir is even more of a love for me than the OG - this is another elevated, classy release from Swiss Arabian.

It's indistinguishable from the original of which I'm a big fan. Possibly ever so slightly less sweet but not noticeablely so unless directly comparing immediately after applying. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart on other people. I couldn't tell them apart on myself when I confused which fragrance I had put on which arm. Disappointing as it's no different, it's not even stronger, doesn't last longer. It's actually starting to fade earlier than the original which isn't what I expected with the word "elixir" in the name. For that reason only I'd say the original (and cheaper) one is superior. Reformulations change from the original fragrance significantly more than this flanker does. It's definitely redundant if you have the original, which is identical but radically longer lasting. I'm sticking with the OG.

This is Mrs. Thorfinn's favorite on me. I've had my Shaghaf Oud Elixir for a few months now and have burned through half of my bottle already. This was my introduction to Swiss Arabian and to Middle Eastern fragrances and now I'm hooked! I was afraid the rose might be to feminine, but they have kept the sweetness with the praline somehow. I love it. It is like spraying the most sophisticated, gourmet spiced chocolate wherever you point the atomizer. I live in Florida and I rock this in all weather--it has become my signature. Most often I use it as a base. This stuff has some power so some discretion is a good idea. Over top elbows and my shirt I'll often layer with a freshy. I blind bought mine based on social media hype with no regrets.

I have lost my everloving mind for this perfume. From the first spray, in the car... my eyes widened and I tipped my head back in delight. It’s those unexpected physical reactions that perfume gives you that I live* for. It’s summertime and I live in the high desert so my environment is similar to the Middle East. And I love wearing this in the summer! I don’t care that it’s not appropriate, I’m absolutely in love with the smell. I think about this perfume several times a day, and even on days when I’m trying to use others from my collection, I find myself still reaching for this one at some point because the addiction is real. Oh sure, I could layer it or something like that but not yet... I want her all to myself.

Good lord this is atomic. I sprayed it once on a tester strip, my nose instantly tickled and I sneezed . I get a warm boozy smell in the opening that is super sweet. Once it dries, it smells vanilla warm spices like if you were in between perfumed candles and incense sticks. Overhaul I love this fragrance, it is super long lasting and original, smells luxurious but DAMN it has nuclear performance, I had never sneezed with a single spray of something before and it filled my room in a minute. Do yourself a favor, grab a decant before buying a full bottle because it could be too strong for some that look for a more intimate fragrance.

I have over 150 fragrances, and I have never wrote a review on Fragrantica. Today I received my bottle of Shaghaf Oud Elixir, and I spray once behind both of my hands *spritz, spritz. Then, I weeped. I cried like a baby. This is such a beautiful fragrance! I never had such an emotional reaction to smelling a fragrance before. It smells like love, and we all need love! I only paid $34 for a new bottle from Walmart Marketplace. This is wild! It’s probably going to become my favorite fragrance because it’s so fresh, sweet, warm, and comforting! It’s amazing! Well done!

Sweet, Sexy, Seductive — this scent is absolutely beast mode, perfect for a Date Night or a Night Out, this scent is very Oudy, Rose heavy, and Ambery. To me it smells very much like Ombre Nomade rather than Oud Bouquet of Lancome, I have Zimayas Night Shadow and they smell pretty similar. Just that Shagaf is considerably stronger. I’ve only worn this scent one day, so I might change this review, but so far I love it!

Love at first scent. This is going to be my extra special, elegant entrance every time I go to a special event. Its warm, spicy, sweet, sexy and different. I'm thrilled to pick up every note, even the sage which is known to be calming. I'm not a fan of rose w/o oud and the mix here is perfect for me. A little goes a long way so my kids will inherit this bottle one day! 10/10.

It’s 30+ degrees in Essex UK, just opened my box and had to sample it - very much reminds me of the first formula of 24 gold , same oud praline vanilla notes- but with more Rose- saffron note is there which 24 goal did not have had a very slight sage but not too herbal - this actually works really well in high heat and humidity . I live six floors up and it’s really sticky.

A sweet Oudy Bomb that just keeps radiating hard forever. Absolute beast of a fragrance which takes you on a magical trip. Elegant and casual. Not for formal events, and certainly not an everyday fragrance. It is to be savoured. A masculine version of the original. A must have for Oud lovers. For its price and quality, it’s an absolute steal.

Shaghaf Oud Elixir is like the grown-up version of your extroverted university boyfriend with whom you regaled through early youth and parted ways with no malice in mind (Shaghaf Oud OG), only to reunite with a few short years later as better, more mature, calmer versions of yourselves (Elixir). A love for the books of a Shaghaf Oud lover.

The longevity on this is crazy. Lasts for days on clothes and on my skin it lasts easy 10hrs. First 2hours projects insanely good and after that it turns into this nice sweet oud. Like a few other people's reviews that I've read,the praline does smell milky. Personally best oud friendly fragrance that will pull compliments

I have both this and the og shaghaf. The og is actually way more powerful and lasts quite a bit longer but this is still good. This has the vanilla ramped up as where the og has a more pronounced chocolate note. 9/10. Og got a 10/10.

So far everything I have purchased from Swiss Arabian has been a 10/10 and this is no exception. Another intoxicating perfume! Their fragrance profile is middle eastern yet mild enough to appeal to the western nose as well.

Better than riifs momento as i have both, if people are saying momento is beast then you can imagine, its a monster .... Very premium smelling and definitely high quality juice. Easily a winter and night time staple.

For me smell is completely same but this is really Bomb man 💣 l put today half spray unboxing him and half spray because is new bottle this is hitting hard how strong it is 🧨💣🌋🔥

Very strong, Swiss Arabian's Shaghaf Oud Elixir is a good inbetween for people who like middle eastern fragrances and oud, but want something that can be accessibly functional to most people who smell it in public while keeping the authenticity. Basically, its a very sweet creamy oud. On initial spray, the florals are everpresent. All I smell is a large amount of rose and generic sweetness (probably ethyl maltol). The drydown starts occuring 1-2 hours after the spray, and the oud becomes more present. Due to the supporting structure of the fragrance, the oud is less barney smelling and has a roundness to it. The quality of the fragrance I would classify inbetween designer and niche, because its well blended but simple in construction. The strength comes off borderline cloying, so be aware that if you are scent sensitive, this might not be the fragrance for you. If you like sweeter fragrances and want something a little different from the pack, then this is a good option for sure. If you've never smelled oud before, its not blind buy safe. If you have, then its a no brainer cheapie (if you don't have the original).

“What does middle eastern fragrances smell like” This is it. A common DNA for the region. I get a ton of middle eastern spices like cardamom, saffron, maybe even a hint of cumin. I also get a slight amount of oud. Nothing crazy, it’s actually very subtle, sweet and smooth. It’s really nice, but nothing I haven’t tried before. I own Lattafa Qaeed (which I think smell like Penhaligons Bewitching Jasmine), and I think these two smells REALLY similar. Yup, it’s good.

I’m not sure if this just needs to sit and macerate for a while , but this doesn’t seem much stronger if not weaker than the OG , the notes are way more pronounced and smoothed out but the longevity and sillage doesn’t seem to be here like the OG bottle of mine did. Overall if you have the original don’t bother picking this up, but scent wise this is better than the original

This is a lovely sweet oud. Very wearable - good intro if you’re apprehensive about venturing into oud territory. There’s sweetness, there are florals, there’s a little metallic saffron in there too. Don’t believe the hype on “beast mode sillage and longevity”. It is an average performer. I suspect that the internet has had its influence here. Still, definitely worth a buy!

Yes there's a bit of saffron harrshness but it's mostly sweet & warm honey - oud - rose. I have to test again in the winter for a more thorough review. Grabbing a tester of this for €15 feels like a steal.

No doubt it smells great but the original Shagaf Oud to me king. I just don’t think I care for the pink pepper component, I’m sure people will still love this. Can’t go wrong with Swiss Arabian.

Very strong sweet Middle Eastern type smell with a hint of powder and incense. Smells a bit fruity in the air because of the praline and amber

Extremely strong incense like oud with very sweet gourmand. Compliment beast and very likeable. Maturation gets rid of the powderyness.

Buy this if you like saffron, because this has a good amount of it. Really well blended with the rose and sweet notes though.

With the decades rather than years I have collecting, using, nosing and sometimes showering with fragrances, this dna is still quite a challenge for me to wear, or at least it appealing as it is addictive to some reviewers here. Shaghaf Oud Elixir starts off with very heavy saffron, this is a heaven for saffron lovers. Straight forward opening, swiss arabian styled oud and heavy saffron and peppery spicy, as you let it settle the strong Indian smelling rose, the rather strong sage and of cos the synthetic praline which is intense sweet lactonic balsamic, the heart starts to shine through, each notes trying to outwit one another. Do know this is a heavy strong fragrance so don't overspray. It will stay on you and literally lasts you a whole day. Keep it friendly for those around you. Back to the scent, I think it's rather linear with the drydown being Ambery musky with the vanilla but I'm not sure if I prefer the opening or the drydown. Scent itself is pretty airy and very similar to the og which is also so so strong but this elixir seems more refined. Good scent but not for anyone everyone.

Unfortunately, this to me is not as good as the original. For some reason, maybe it's the sage note, it just smells like wine that has gone bad, it's missing the praline/chocolatey note in the OG, and I also go completely anosmic to it in 1 minute. Somehow, the syrupy sweetness is intensified, to the point when you can't pick up anything else, it's just overripe fruit/spoilt wine. The OG is still the better option, in my opinion.

So I wore this today, and even though it is pretty, it did not wow me.It smells somewhat soapy and gourmand.Not sure if this is one that needs to macerate to get better... I don't hate it, but so far it is not one that I would choose to wear over others... It is pleasant, but not spectacular.

sweet bomb! nuclear stuff, easily my longest lasting fragrance in my collection. 12+ hours and was still projecting strongly after 4 hours with a few sprays. smooth milky vanilla so pretty unisex and i’m 97% sure my girlfriend will love this on me

It's good... until it's not. Enjoyably sweet, woody and rosy through the first few hours. Unfortunately, on my skin, the dry down takes a turn for the worse once the musks are exposed at around hour four. This vanilla oud scent profile is not unique, so I will simply choose another example with a more pleasant overall wear.

Let's start off like this. I have never left a review. Just like taste, smell is subjective. I love Swiss Arabian. I have Casablanca, I have the extreme version of Casablanca. I have the original gold bottle, I have the Blue "honey" edition. The gold and blue bottles have exact DNA except the edition of honey. I can't choose between the two because they are wonderful. I love pepper. I love incense, I love spice. I got the elixar in and sprayed 2 sprays on back of left hand. Not a heat spot. This is not nuclear, this is straight out Cobalt power. The most powerful of the nuclear bombs. I personally hated beyond hate this cologne, but if you like a little cologne in your pepper, this is yours. To give you an idea, this is the gold bottle oud, say a 2.5 ounce. Take the lid off and add 4 generous table spoons of cayenne pepper in. I honestly scrubbed hand with anti bacteria hand soap twice. That didn't help, so I actually put a sports creme on it. Elixar triumphed. If you like this, you will love it, if not you won't. This IS NOT blind buy say, albeit it being Swiss Arabian. Get a sample first

It smells like baby wipes, or like an old person's apartment.

The Friendly Oud. A good choice for those who aren’t big Oud fans as this isn’t the animalic or warm spicy type of Oud, it’s the sweet, woody, chocolatey-powdery-nutty inviting Oud, possibly applicable for western tastes in fragrance, that said, you also likely need an eclectic taste to get on board with Oud fragrances. Nice, but it may be somewhat redundant against others of its type, it also doesn’t seem as strong as others have voted it to be, Its longevity so far is fine but it seems a fragrance more pronounced in village or when a breeze blows the scent towards other noses. Overall. 7/10

Get in the car, Elizabeth. I wasn’t sure about this one at first. When it arrived, I almost returned it... but somehow, it stayed. I tucked it away, and months later, I decided to give it another chance. The opening is still intense... but this time, I let it wear all the way through. And the dry down? Something else entirely. Smooth, alluring, and dangerously captivating. I’ve been layering it with Ledda’s Bourbon Brûlée, and my husband can’t seem to stay away. Always drawn to me, to my neck. 😮💨

This is beautiful, you know that smell when wheat beer spills onto something then dries out leaving a sweet sort of musky cereal wheaty smell? When Shaghaf Oud Elixir dries, after like 1 hour, I get this exact smell. It is definitely more masculine than the regular Shaghaf Oud, which is sweeter and less potent. I love it.

I have the original, and love it. Another YouTuber said it was a more gourmand version to the original, and nooooooo!!! Don’t believe that. It is not gourmand, and the original is way better, but very similar. Will update if I change my mind. 😔

To me this is better than the original. Smoother smooth smooth! More thick dark oudy cognac chocolate Just melts into the skin! Less of the grey saffron note that bothered me in the original. Basically this shagaf oud cleaned up and made king!

Very sweet and mature, like a friendly oud. I feel like I need to be a rich princess, with a private driver, to wear this in public. And I am just not rich enough for this perfume! I spray it sometimes at night, just for myself.

Much Smoother and a little sweeter than the original Shaghaf. This stuffs delicious. It’s got it all. Packaging, scent, performance all check out for such great value. Reminds me slightly of Arabians Tonka.

The previous version had a nuclear sillage, lasted literally for 48 hours, if this one is even half as good as the original it'll be a success, let's wait and see.

killer performance, similar to the EDP, but i'm personally not a fan of the pink pepper and sage notes. I prefer the EDP over this but this is still incredible

This smells fab! That being said very close to the OG so id say you dont need both?? But none the less a gorgeous sugary oud scent!

This is gorgeous, and I don't like Oud that much. But it is blended perfectly in this one. Really creamy and beautiful scent.

Currently on Jomashop for $44.99. Not sure about the sage note, though. Kinda seems out of place.

The Sage note stands out and bothers me, why Swiss Arabian? Why!!???😞
