Tobacco 01

To me, Tobacco 01 opens with some dried plum and a surprisingly moist and fresh tobacco note that works in harmony with the cumin and peppery notes. It is sweeter than it sounds but there is a lot less of the fruity textures in this than you might expect from looking at the notes. They are dried fruits not juicy fresh. If you look for them, there are some nicely blended floral accords in Tobacco 01 but these freshen from the sidelines and are difficult to pick out as they are so enwoven into the greeny tobacco notes. The middle is rich patchouli, resinous amber and some Iso E Super to smooth it over whilst the base is an almost creamy gourmand sort of vanilla and honey that cleverly never goes too sweet. It goes almost chocolatey (I think from the patchouli) in sillage. If you breeze past someone wearing this you get the cocoa patchouli hand in hand with pipe tobacco scent which isn't as heavy as it sounds. But if you get in close on the skin, you get the heavier tobacco and the cumin which is much stronger than I was expecting. It is a really accomplished bit of perfumery from Angeline Leporini. The musk and cashmeran are, again, supporting actors rather than the headliners and do a really nice job in smoothing this over and making it much easier on the nose than it looks by note list. I cannot see Ambroxan in the notes but I am positive I can feel it in here, ironing out the creases and throwing a silk texture over the whole thing. I would say it is much sexier than Incense 01, Patchouli 01, Rose 01 or Vanilla 01. I dated a girl from Sri Lanka many years ago and this smells exactly like her skin: Dark, spicy, sexy, warm and languid, impossibly-exotic-but-very-familiar, but not brooding or difficult. It is a nice memory of a long time ago and I love fragrances that can evoke things like that. Layering suggestion: try a base layer of Killian - Intoxicated just to ramp up the spices and add a gorgeous coffee note. You could also look at a saffron or incense top layer, perhaps Encens Suave by Matiere Premier or Liquide by Les Liquides Imaginaires. This is a very versatile scent that lends itself well to layering I feel. Tobacco 01 opens very sweet. Plum and apple come through strongly at the start, while the tobacco sits in the background. The sweetness dominates for the first 5 to 10 minutes, then tobacco and amber begin to rise. I pick up a faint cumin note, though it is subtle. Honey is present throughout but remains a supporting player. Vanilla also stays in the background. The sweetness is clearly driven by plum and apple rather than vanilla, which makes sense since vanilla sits in the base. Around 15 minutes in, the tobacco becomes much stronger. It blends smoothly with the fading plum and apple, which never disappear completely but shift into the background. The tobacco is a dry leaf style, which works well. Comparing it to Initio Side Effect, I see why people mention similarities. Side Effect also opens with plum, but it is only half as strong. The boozy character is more prominent in Side Effect, while the tobacco plays a similar supporting role early on. Cinnamon stands out clearly in Side Effect, but I do not detect it in Tobacco 01. This makes their openings quite different. For the first 20 minutes they feel related but not the same. As they dry down, the resemblance becomes more obvious. By 30 minutes, Tobacco 01 is very close to Side Effect. I prefer Tobacco 01 here. It is more powerful, projecting about twice as strongly, while Side Effect feels weaker even though I sprayed Tabacco 01 first. Side Effect may be slightly smoother, but Tobacco 01 carries more weight. After 90 minutes, Tobacco 01 is still radiating strongly while Side Effect has faded. The dry down is balanced. The top notes and tobacco sit evenly together, neither overpowering the other. It settles into a cozy, inviting scent that feels well blended and easy to fall in love with.

I can get quite angry when I see stupid comments on fragrances. Like why did they name it Tobacco 01? Please, if you don't smell the tobacco, your opinion on this fragrance is just not valid. The tobacco is definitely present. Swiss Arabian has this unique quality of amazingly blended fragrances. This one is no exception. The tobacco is really the star of this perfume but it's so smooth, I suppose because it's paired with honey, vanilla, cashmeran, musk. It's quite smoky and bitter. I also smell a fruity essence, I think it's the plum but also could be the green apple. There's also a hint of spice (red pepper, licorice). When I first opened it, it smelled different. It was very good and unique from the start but now it's just even nicer and more smooth. I love tobacco fragrances however to me, this one leans masculine. I've smelled a few fragrances in a style of TF Tobacco Vanille and those to me are more feminine even though the majority says otherwise. Tobacco 01 smells nothing like those, neither does it smell like Side Effect. Side Effect is less smoky and fresher, Tobacco 01 is fruitier, denser and more inscensy. That's why I find this less feminine leaning. Don't even have to talk about longevity and sillage as it's always on point with the Herritage Collection. 8.8/10

I don't think this perfume is being talked about enough. Tobacco 01 is the only Extrait de Parfum in their Heritage collection. Yes, compared to other Arabic fragrances, this may have a slightly higher price tag. Still, I think it's totally worth it. I'd even pay a lot more. As for its performance: incredible. The longevity, projection, and sillage are vast. I don't recommend applying it on clothing at all (maybe only on very light clothes that you're going to wash). The projection and sillage are equally powerful. They may not tell you anything, but I'm sure they'll smell you. As for its scent: Mainly fruity sweet, but not cloying or sweet-smelling, even though the honey is present. Both the plum and licorice are present from the first second. Later, I detect amber and those heavier tobacco-like notes. It's not a truly remarkable tobacco, as you might expect from the perfume's name. Still, it smells along with the other notes, making it feel... rugous? I know it doesn't make much sense, but I feel like it's a sweet and smooth tobacco, but at the same time rugous and noticeable. I don't know, haha. Definitely a compliment-getter and quite versatile within dense, nighttime fragrances.

This opens up with a lovely dose of Apple and Plum with Cumin and Licorice for a little bit of contrast. The Dry down is where the Patchouli shines, It combines with a hefty dose of Honey and Vanilla giving the composition a very slight Chocolaty vibe. The Tobacco stays throughout the entire life of the fragrance, it's slightly smokey and Ashy without being aggressive. Although people have compared this to Side Effect, Personally I think it's only in opening. I like this more than Side effect, as a matter of fact I don't like Side effect because of that Dried Coconut note which I believe is coming from the Sandalwood. This However doesn't have that. This is a beautifully blended fragrance without any of the notes dominating the others. Performance wise I'd say it's pretty long lasting especially if you spray it on clothes. I remember opening up my laundry basket and I could still smell it on my clothes which I wore a 2 days before laundry day. Projection is decent, It's not too beastly and not too loud which is exactly what I like for something with this scent profile. Overall, I give this a 10 out 10. A solid release from Swiss Arabian.

Im quite indifferent... With the name Tobacco 01 you're expecting a strong tobacco note, but thats not what you get. Its a REALLY sweet fragrance, imagine Initios side effect but replace the rum note with honey and replace the cherry essence with plum. The tobacco appears in the dry down but its not the star of the show. Don't get me wrong its still a fire fragrance, I was just expecting it to be more tobacco forward. 8.3/10 Update: I've let this sit for about a month and its changed quite a bit. The tobacco has become way more prominent and I noticed the scent has become a lot warmer. It still has the sweetness from the plum and honey, but its not overly sweet vs when I first sprayed it. This definitely cuts through the colder weather, but might be a bit heavy in the summer though🤔

this is AMAZING. at first i didnt know how to feel about it but it really grew on me. and for me at least, this fragrance evolves so much. the only thing that upset me about it is how heavy the vanilla became after a while. i love vanilla but it was almost STRAIGHT UP vanilla. not sure if its just mine but idk, something to point out. also, the projection on this is INSANE on me. i walked into a store and i dont like crowds so i try to stay as far away from people as i can, but this lady a couple feet away from me said she loved the way i smelled. i also smell it on me a long time. id say this probably lasts me at least half the day, depending on how much i spray. wouldnt recommend wearing this in high heat though. overall a great fragrance that deserves more recognition imo.

Already having tobacco vanille by TF, I was skeptical to get another tobacco fragrance as they rarely scratched that itch I look for in a perfume, but on a trip to the nearby mall I decided to pass by Swiss Arabian and give it a try. The opening really brings out a beautiful blend of the apple, honey, and tobacco, I don’t really get the other notes right away but may differ on other skin chemistry. When this fragrance dries down however, is when the magical sexy tobacco brings out the other notes in a much more graceful way compared to other tobacco scents. This is a very beautiful evening scent for cooler weather, and can last ages! I could still smell this on my skin even 7 hours after the test spray at the shop and after showering! I give this an easy 10/10 on performance.

Just got a decant of this today and I'm very intrigued! I don't pick up a rehash of Side Effect--this is significantly less sweet to me, and I'm totally fine with that. The tobacco/licorice/tobacco combination is the hooka vibe I was hoping for with Mashrabya. Tobacco is prevalent and it's warm, smooth, and deep. The other base notes of ylang ylang, vanilla, sandalwood, honey, and cashmere wood balance smoky tobacco with a warm, creamy touch that makes this incredibly enticing. Can't firmly comment on longevity yet but projection is solid. I'm admittedly a sucker for tobacco fragrances, but this one has shot up to the top of my list. Glad I got a decant vs blind buying this, but I will be grabbing a full bottle soon.

Blind buy! When I first bought this, the plum note was overpowering. It felt too fruity and I struggled to wear this. However, after letting it macerate for 1.5 months, the fragrance is so well rounded and feels much smoother. It still smells fruity but it’s less overbearing and feels better blended now. I can’t stop smelling myself, and I absolutely love it. In my opinion, you could wear this all year round just because of the fruit content. Right now I get the plum and honey notes, but it feels powdery. The spice is more subdued now which I love. After smelling side effect for the first time this week, I can definitely see the comparison. And I must say, I much prefer Tobacco 01. It’s more wearable imo.

One of my most recent pick-ups this year. This is a really rich and surprisingly easy to wear fragrance, suitable for the daytime and nighttime wear providing its cold, I could not imagine banging this on during a heatwave lmao. It starts off really fruity which is then closely followed by that sweet, honey coated tobacco smell, the patchouli and musk keep this scent really grounded and earthy. Honestly, this fragrance is one for a sharply dressed gentleman, nice wool coat, leather gloves, well kept. Personally, im rating this a 10/10 and I do not say this for many fragrances, and I havent even given my bottle that much time to mascerate!

OH MY DAYS !!!!! This frag is incredible! Imagine Side effect by Initio with a hefty luscious dose of honey 🍯 and juicy plum liquor, that’s what this is, just intoxicating. The slight fresh but sweet opening from the apple is so nice and balanced. This deserves all the hype and then some. Super sexy and very unisex. Would smell insane on a man and sexy on a woman. This is a dressed up scent not a daily or casual scent. Can’t stop sniffing my wrist, in love and I just got this in the post. Very potent, don’t need much but trust me I WILL OVERSPRAY THIS BEAUTY for church crossover today.

Got it today, I've only spray it on the bloater so far. If I had smelled it blindly I would say that is definitely a Dominique Ropion creation. Really reminds me of Oud Malaki and Costume National Homme. The tobacco is not the main character of the formula. It's more of a spicy sandalwood type of a fragrance, at least to my nose. Not what I was expecting but I'm not disappointed. I can't wait for a full wearing. The presentation is absolutely amazing. Only issue was that I had to push the sprayer like 100 times for the juice to come out, I was ready to send my bottle back.

Do not hesitate to purchase this fragrance. I got it for around $50. For that price, you get an amazing fragrance. At first it has an almost bubble gummy sweetness but at the same time theres a more complex layer of tobacco and darkness underneath. It is very potent and long lasting. They aren't joking when they call this an extrait de parfum. It has an indulgent fruity sweetness, and a noticeable damp leafy tobacco note beneath that sweetness. It lasts very long and has the most pleasant sillage throughout the day. No regrets here.

Absolutely amazing, crafted to perfection, what a balance, beautiful, long lasting with a medium projection. 10/10, I believe it will not last enough to macerate more, I gotta grab 2 or 3 as a backup, this is lit!!! Edit: Finishing my 2nd btl, have purchased another one, this is just awesome, I don't know why, but I feel this is what Hugo Boss fragrances (from The Scent line) should smell like, or have some of this dna in it!.

Had the chance to compare to Side Effect today while I was wearing Tobacco 01. While there are similarities this is definitely not a dupe, and the main reason is the very present cinnamon in Side Effect which I don't enjoy which is thankfully absent from this. This is a fabulous fragrance, great longevity and performance, beautiful drydown, and I don't get any idea of it being a dupe at all.

Another banger from Swiss Arabian. They are fast becoming my favourite fragrance house. Surprisingly not overly strong with the tobacco note but still the sweetness from the honey and amber mix beautifully with the wood creating an addictive scent that lifts your mood. Wonderful...

First perfume that came to my mind when I wore Tobacco 01: https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Beso-Beach-Perfumes/Beso-Canalla-53657.html When my bottle of Beso Canalla runs out, I won't replace it. Tobacco 01 is cheaper and to me smells nicer, complexer, and just as high quality.

Absolute best tobacco frag i have and i have quite a few. Maybe insurrection II Wild is on similar level, but i have to test both one day. It is different vibe though, tobacco 01 has that gorgeous sweetenes of plum and tobacco is not really main player here.

This was a let down for me a total skin scent i so wanted to like it as i love tobacco fragrances everything about it is just weak. I might bring it back out in a month or two when the weather gets cooler but so far very disappointed in it's performance.
