Zahra

Zahra, the Arabic name for flower, came across to me as a very sweet orange juice. It reminded me of honey sweetened freshly squeezed Egyptian orange juice, deeply orange and amazingly fragrant. But there's no orange note here. To my nose, the flowers are difficult to detect initially, but with the second wearing, I was able to pick up a clear berry note mixed with jasmine which morphs into a sweet resinous vanilla. The resin scent could very well be the oud note which is only detectable right at the end. This is very fresh, sweet, extremely long lasting and with decent silage. In fact, I could detect zahra, more than 48 hours later, when I open the wardrobe where my scarf is sitting. The notes are synthetic, the price is very cheap ( 20ml perfume oil for 10 USD) but Zahra is a well crafted, pretty sweet floral scent. It is non-obtrusive and absolutely perfect in the dry hot summer.

Zahra is unusual attar even for me and I own at least 40 different ones. In few words - squashed into juice fresh pine needles or blackcurrant leaves (bitter-sweet) with sour plum puree. Very Christmasy if you ask me. Add to this balsamic mixture slightly bitter, musty spices and orange blossom and that is Zahra. It reminds me of Sonia Rykiel fragrance in the shape of an orange sweater, which I also associate with Christmas time or with Mugler's Angel Rose. Very enjoyable oil, not very loud one as well. Upon opening the bottle, a melody of sweet and tangy berries harmonizes with a robust green note. As it settles onto my skin, the fragrance transforms into a warm, floral embrace, particularly the sweet embrace of jasmine. As the hours pass, a beautiful evolution unfolds, revealing a powdery, floral, woody, and refreshingly clean essence. Drawing from my upbringing in a Chinese household, its dry down evokes memories of cherished incense sticks. The fragrance asserts its presence with undeniable strength, prompting me to apply it with careful precision, a mere touch behind my knees and wrists.

I first had it 15 years ago. The Garden of Earthly Delights. Flowers with fruit and musk put together in a way that won't let you down. Every time I smell it, I get the scent of sensual delight. I don't know if the fragrance has been reformulated since its origin, so I have no idea if it still smells the same today as it did in the days of its creation.

There is a zesty, fresh top note and I think that may be the vetiver. Then almost immediately, a warm, sweet dry down. It smells like ripe, exotic fruit. It's very feminine. I would definitely recommend. As Janina recommended Noora, I could not agree more. Noora is also a very lovely fragrance by Swiss Arabian. In my opinion though, Zahra and Noora smell nothing alike. They're both great, but not similar. Amazon is a great place to get both perfumes.

It a sweet honey like juice, with mimosa, saffron and marigold. It has a little bit of sour taste because of berry note. It lasts 3-4 hours, very close to skn. I love the bottle a lot. It is reasonably priced, very feminine. It has musk drydown, which i like.

The closest fragrance to Zahra that I've ever experienced is probably Lady Million - which is a signature frag of a friend of mine, and I'm used to smelling it, but, though they share some common notes and a similar "feel", they are hardly the same. SA Zahra is far fruitier and sweeter. There is also a passing resemblance (esp. in the base) to some facets of Angel - not to the original so much, but more to some of the flankers such as Angel Forever. I am also reminded of Gucci Rush a bit from about the 1-hour to 3-hour mark... it lacks the "flat" blending of Rush, and, again, is sweeter in character both floral and fruit-wise. I give Zahra a solid "like", but this is one of those fragrances that I'd enjoy more on another person as they approach and retreat in space, but I myself can't seem to "bond" with it. After a full wearing, I feel "trapped" as if I'm wearing someone else's clothes. I recommend sampling before blind-buying a whole bottle.

I was pleasantly surprised by this, as I’ve never tried a perfume oil before. I used one drop on my arm, it took quite a while to dry, and was strong enough to give some projection. If was wearing this properly I think 1 drop on each arm and maybe one on the back of my neck would be more than enough. It begins a soft, smooth, fruity floral, but as it develops there’s a richness underneath. It does become a bit powdery, but it’s not a powder bomb and smells nothing like baby wipes as there’s a slightly soft warm spice feel to it after awhile. It does have a hint of the original skin so soft fragrance as someone else mentioned, but this is sweeter and fruitier. Totally suitable for all seasons including summer in the UK, and it doesn’t have that heady white floral feeling so I’d also consider using it in hotter temperatures. There is no strong oudy base on my skin at all.

This smells sweet, fruity, pineappley, with an Avon "Skin So Soft" (original version) scent. After reading reviews, I didn't dare use this straight from the bottle the 1st time I wore it; which was right before I went to a party. I diluted this in a roll-on tube with some avocado oil just to be safe, lol. I had my boyfriend sniff it on my clothes later and asked what he thought of it. I did dance that night, but all he said was "it smells like skin... like nice body odor" 😂.... At least he likes it. Today I tried some more undiluted while I'm just in the house and that Skin So Soft scent is more pronounced than the sweetness. Well, it does smell interesting. I like it, though at times the wafts can be a little too sweet, so I'll be careful to not over do it... but I'm very interested to see how this fragrance grows on me.

Zahra is a perfect example of the saying “The dosage makes the poison.” This potion is so concentrated that to apply a normal drop or perhaps a swipe of the wand across my wrist is the equivalent of spraying 10 bottles of perfume on one spot at once, and so smells alarming, even grotesque, and not for smelling bad, but for smelling too much, for being louder than should ever naturally be possible. For this reason, I was going to give it away, but today I tried the tiniest drop, gingerly transferred it around to other pulse points, and I’ll be darned, it’s beautiful.

I have a 10 years old attar that says "Zahra II", but I don't know the company, as when I've bought it from Etsy, ME attars/perfumes was still not a thing in EU. Based on the notes, it must be this one in an attar form and it smells great! Juicy vanillic mature peach 🍑 Feminine, elegant, timeless. Bright, heady, a bit animalic due to oud, but it smells good, not fanky or skanky. It's a bit spicy like peppery on my skin.

Its odd how there are so many negative reviews on this, but the love and like is so high...hmmm. Well I for one like it. Its a sweet fruity floral that is soft and not too much of an in your face choking kind of sweet either. Its creamy, delicate and screams femininity! Im 42 and don't find this girly like some typical cheap celebrity type of fragrance at all. A little goes a long way too, so use lightly! :)

Curried honeydew. Refreshing, spicy, and incredibly odd. Somehow delicious but not exactly wearable or suitable for most occasions.

I have perfume oil. Lovely, soft, sweet and bit spicy. Like Egyptian musk oil + Boucheron Trouble drydown. Love it.

I wanted to like this scent a little better but I was a bit disappointed in the end. When I first opened up the bottle, the jasmine, green notes, and musk hit me pretty hard. Halfway through the dry down, the aldehydes, sandalwood, and the rest of the florals kicked in. This oil took so long to dry down, and in the process it was really strong, almost offensive smelling. When it finally dried, it was a very light and delicate floral. It says there are berry notes in here but I failed to get a whiff of any of them. This is supposed to be a fruity floral but all I really got was floral, a bit of powder, and a lot of musk. I’d probably rate it a 6.5/10; It’s not horrible, but it’s just not what I was expecting. It smells a bit vintage, but I’m not a fan. Would probably be nice for a brisk and sunny spring afternoon though! Would still recommend anyone to try it for themselves!

Ripe fruits: Quince, Apple, Pear, Berries. Mouthwatering, opulent, sweet but sour and bitter at the same time. For me, Quince is the leading note - currently we have 4 buckets of it in our kitchen (we have a quince tree at least 40 years in our garden). The perfume itself is very pretty, but I have to be in a mood for wearing it (I have a sample of oil). After some time it might become a bit overwhelming.

"Fruity Notes" lol This is a musky, sweet, powdery kind of smell. For me it's not interesting. It has this kind of cheap Swiss Arabian DNA profile that I find in a lot of their oil compositions. A lot of their perfumes seem to not have a lot of thought put into them and then some of them are just impossibly good, it makes no sense. To me, this one is just boring. 4/10

This was a blind buy I saw the pretty bottle and took a chance on it. Omigod when I put the delicate perfume oil on my hand to test it I was shocked at the scent - exactly after sex scent! No one else doing reviews on this perfume mentions it. I was eager to smell rose, jasmine, sandlewood but it never happened! I had to scrub this off my hand to go out or people would think I just had sex and forgot to shower! Eew! After washing hand I could still smell it but scent changed to white floral after 15 minutes with no hint of the opening shocker scent. Maybe it is my body chemistry that caused it but I recommend testing this before buying if possible or be prepared for a naughty scent!

After two days of wearing Zahra I started hate it. I don't like smell of cheap sandalwood.. It's horrible and longlasting in cloth, unfortunately...

This is pretty much identical to Layali CPO, with those fruit-floral notes that come across as strawberry-kiwi. Like Layali CPO, I give this 2/5

Not my favorite. It good for old people.

I am a bit disappointed about this scent. Especially because I have other scents to compare it to. For example, Lancome Poeme has this honey/linden aroma and is soft and long lasting. All I get here is little bit of maybe honeysuckle and mimosa. Sweet, yes. Spicy ? Where ? I don't detect any spice. It is a nothing scent to my nose. Whereas the Al Haramain Attar Al Kaaba roses/oud sample can knock you out with its potency, here it is the opposite. I have to put my nose close to the arm to sniff. No big deal, I shall test many other samples on this Arabic Perfume Oil path of discovery. Just thought to write my review to let you know about Zahra.

I just got it from someone. Had been in use for a year.(my bottle looks different than the-one on this photo; I ́ve the 80%-one). And it ́s also winter here. 10 below 0 by Celsius..may be all that, but all I get is leather. strong, even terrifying..smell of leather-saddle.. The bottle is adorable, but I still feel a bit sick and shocked by the perfume.. Wish to smell it with hot weather, because at the moment I ́m here left with the feeling that I get none of what the fragrance really is:(

A bright,tart floral scent. I don't find it to be too strong or overpowering. There is a hint of musk, which I think makes this oil appropiate year round. Some smells can be defined by colors, and what immediately pops in my head is "yellow", in a sunshiney, cheerful way. Very reasonably priced as well. I hope this one's a keeper, as some note in other Arabian perfumes I have tried have given me a massive headache. So far, so good with this one.

To me, Zahra is just a headache-inducing version of Layali. I can not differentiate these two scents whatsoever, except that this one gives me a headache. Completely agree with Planet X’s review, and would apply the same description to Layali as well. The scent isn’t unpleasant but of the SA fruity floral CPOs, I much prefer Yulali and Jamila. I decided to try something different and stumbled upon this. I love perfume oils and thought to try this. I was so surprized it was very similar to Le Roy Soleil by Dali & Lalique's Nilang. In fact, I wore all of them together and it intensified that fruity, musky, woody and spicy scent. Can be worn whenever you want to feel sunny and bright with a hidden camel in the background!

Very fruit mango smelling long lasting perfume oil. Unfortunately this gives me a headache - it smells very synthetic. I think i'll try again when my sinuses are clear but i'm pretty sure its happened with Zahra before. Great summer scent though reminding me of the 'Escada' vibe.

I usually love swiss arabian , i have most of their stuff. Not this one though , it is a very overly sweet mango juice that doesn't have any depth to it. Would not recommend to anyone. Might be good for small girls , does not suit an adult
