Smells green and humid like the inside of a floral shop greenhouse. Extremely Violet forward, like other people have said. There is a deep earthiness grounding it. Keeping it from being a screeching floral. It is extremely delicate. This conjures a specific scent memory for me. The smell of violets a muddy grass field. The fragrance isn't dirty but it has a wet humid nature to it. Sweaty but not in a human way. Like the moisture that clings to the walls in a floral shops greenhouse.

🦋 Earthy and green, this fragrance opens like snapping a tulip stem: that raw, slightly bitter freshness of cut flowers and petrichor. The pulpy apple sensation is real for me, not sweet or candied, and the overall sweetness remains minimal. It's a musky, modern fougère that feels floral, fresh, and comforting all at once. Easy to wear, gentle, and grounded. And the castoreum? Zero nauseating moments here; it integrates beautifully. ➡️Honestly, the name set high expectations. I imagined something more poetic and sublime, so I was a little underwhelmed at first. But I respect it for what it is. But not a full bottle worth. Syd Buffman created this as one of her first three, blending synthetics and naturals with real craft. And knowing she mentored Dawn Spencer Hurwitz? That tells me everything. This is a house I will be paying more attention to. Now I'm very curious about her upcoming Mineral Daughter; an emerald, green, mineral fragrance sounds absolutely intriguing.

I was so excited for this one based on the notes, but honestly I’m a little disappointed and definitely should’ve bought a sample and not a full sized bottle. This is VERY heavy on the violet. There isn’t really a complexity with this one, it stays the same even after drying down, I don’t get the apple or leather, etc. It has a very soapy smell, so it smells clean, but I don’t find it an appealing fragrance. I don’t want to walk around smelling like soap or detergent.

Luster's was the brand. There's an essential oil quality I've come to get a little miffed about with indie / few-person operated perfume brands. I understand that it's harder for self starters to access high quality ingredients and formulas so I'll always respect it, patronize it, and support it. Especially in an industry so gatekept and pretentious. But I find myself wondering what the perfumer actually wanted their final product to evoke if not for the dull, heady, soil-like quality of many extracts meant for aromatherapy . In Butterfly Tamer, it gives it this "witchy vibe" I'm not entirely sure was intentional.

This smells mostly of grass, like you’re walking through a meadow in the sun. A beautiful early summer day. It’s incredibly green - it smells like a million different plants at once. There’s some wildflowers in there and the feeling of sunshine. In the dry down, the violet comes through strong and it starts to smell like baby powder. This was fun to try, but not something I’d wear regularly as powdery notes are difficult for me. That green opening is stunning though.

Dandelion and apple salad. Fresh clean outdoor shower. Cute baby wipes. Sugary Caipirinha. It then morphs into a clean spa like musk. Very ethereal but wearable, maybe a fairy smells like this. It’s a clean musky fragrance but in a natural sweet way. Reminds me of a J Scent perfume, can’t remember which one. The name is fitting, such a cute fragrance.

If any one has a bottle of this they don’t want I will happily swap for it ! This is one of my favorite fragrances of all time . It’s a symphony on your skin. It brings to mind safety and the anxiousness of the start of falling in love .

This is green, a hint plasticky, and very much a Spring perfume. There is an almost pickled, sour scent here which makes me think of a vase with week-old flowers.
