Honey Body

So unexpected, so perfect. This somehow ended up being the petrichor scent my dreams. Smells like the most beautiful gust of fresh air mid summer after a storm, with the lingering smell of sweet pollen and fallen fruit from a nearby tree. Incredible.

This is a really pleasant fragrance. Two of the Syd Botanica ones that I love have both been ones that smell like “outside”. This one is very nice, warm honey that sits well on skin. It smells like a warm summer to me. The petrichor note disappears as it dries down, I do wish it would stay longer, but then the tuberose becomes a little more noticeable. The tuberose makes this remind me of my great grandma in a pleasant way, not in an overpowering floral old lady perfume way, the tuberose reminds me of how her house smelled. I’ve noticed Syd Botanica fragrances sit VERY close to the skin, not very much sillage. This one I think is great hanging close to the skin, others like Meteorite I wish had slightly more sillage. I think overall this is a well blended fragrance, an interesting scent, and not a bad price.

Everything I've sampled from SYD Botanica has never failed to make me feel something, and this is no exception. Opens with almost a wink of a green accord, and then gets earthy-sweet. A warm & nutty take on petrichor, and the Sichuan pepper adds a delectable spiciness. I keep involuntarily lifting my arm to my nose as I'm typing this out. Warms up beautifully on the skin. Very sensual. Love what was done here.

it took a couple tries but i’ve really warmed up to this!! sweet, grainy, and earthy, with a little bit of spice from the pepper. i feel like i subconsciously avoid earthy and spicy scents despite having enjoyed most if not all that i’ve tried. syd was also so kind as to upgrade my 5ml purchase to one of their new 15ml bottles for free!!!! i look forward to seeing more from this house :3

i'm surprised nobody's mentioning patchouli!! that's all i can smell upon first spray, a deep chocolatey patch. i don't get my type of petrichor unfortunately, i'm more of a wet concrete kind of girl rather than a soil one. the first dozens of minutes i only get bitter earthy chocolate then the dirty facet subsides and leaves room for something akin honeyed black tea, which is quite pleasant but overall it's not something i'd want to wear. i do appreciate the artistry behind this though!!! the drydown is nice but i really can't get behind the beggining, oh well
