Chanson Noire

I have to say, this brand deserves a lot more credit than it gets. And I don't know whether or not I want that to change. I want them to be successful and make a lot of money and be famous etc. I also want to keep it all to myself! Now, it may not be for everybody. I actually quite know that. Judging from the comments I receive from my mother, it is most certainly not for everybody. And I agree! But that's the point. I wear fragrances from this brand when I don't want to please anyone else. I wear this and others when I truly want to feel expressive. And typically that expression is dark and twisty. Complicated. Fucking awesome. This is not a fragrance you get at Sephora after watching an Instagram commercial. Where the pretty girl definitely did not get hired by the company to pretend like she found this product all on her own. No. Chanson creates an authentic feeling when you wear it. And that is incredibly hard to find. You may not like what you feel, but you feel something. I can list about five things in the past decade that actually pulled something out of me. We live in a dead society more and more, and instead of covering that up, SY is allowing us to shout out at maximum capacity.

One of the first perfumes I laid my factory bulb on.. Chanson Noir, a very charming name. It begins with a memory.. one of hysteric intoxication. A fair drink of absinth,, before you begin to stir from reality.. and get lost in the dark forest.. The absinth stays with you, reminding you why you’re here... to forget, or to remember? Something about this perfume is very reminiscent of lost times.. the earthy vetiver and narcissus set a serious tone.. beautiful yet, serious.. the tones continue,, Chanson, like ghosts hiding amongst the trees, inviting you to sing with them. Their voices, fuzzy, intense, and cold like lavender, with the help of a multifaceted herbal feeling keeping you aware, yet it is familiar.. It holds a bold and traditional style of fougere... until you settle long enough, you begin to doze off, and lay on the ground to become part of the moment. You are left resting on a powerful base of leather and smoke, it feels dangerous, but it holds you in place.. a sense of confidence and mystery.. a very spiritual and unique scent. It is like a folk song, an elegant one, but it does it’s job.. and takes you to another time.

Chanson Noire opens with a bitter note of absinthe and a very distinctive smoky leather scent, which is not too overwhelming or animalic. The scent gradually turns into a fougere-like herbal scent of sage and lavender but was shifted toward a dark and dampy-earthy sensation. The spicy, bitter feeling of absinthe since the very top note transitions smoothly into the soft-spicy profile of herbs and earthy-woody center. The dry down also appears naturally like when you take a walk into the winter forest. However, the absinthe and fougere profiles fade as I approach the base. I can only detect the dry woody-animalic on my skin at this point. Chanson Noire's description of a "forgotten souls" and its scent reminds me of Breached Things from Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding game. Strongly recommend to try this.

First impression: Amazing dark green scent but not really unique or have wow factors IMO. To be more specific, try to mix 60% Amouage Opus 7 - Reckless Leather (dark green incense) + 20% Kilian Dark Lord (dark leather) + 20% ELDO Rien Intense (unrine leather) = BOOM !!! you will have Chanson Noire. A little bit redundant if u already have 3 of them

Chanson Noire opens with a striking, high absinthe note sharp, green, and intoxicating, as if absinthe had been spilled over dark leather. That initial intensity is beautiful and deep, and it slowly transforms into a smoky, leathery accord that feels both elegant and provocative. In the background, there is a soft floral presence. I can’t quite identify the individual flowers, but it feels like a small, delicate bouquet quietly unfolding underneath the darkness subtle, almost hidden, adding contrast rather than sweetness. This fragrance instantly transports me to a very specific place: underground techno clubs from years ago the kind that were intimate and refined rather than chaotic. Dark rooms with wooden furniture, red velvet curtains, low lighting, and deep house or techno playing in the background. Everyone dressed in black. Absinthe drinks being served. Smoke lingering in the air. That slightly dusty, velvety boudoir atmosphere where darkness feels luxurious rather than heavy. Chanson Noire smells like absinthe spilled on a black dress, softened by a quiet floral touch a balance between intoxication and elegance. It captures that nocturnal, artistic energy perfectly: mysterious, sensual, and deeply atmospheric.

From afar the scent smells very fecal, sniffing up close there's a scent of worn leather with a touch of soil, tiny bit of absinth and a little green.
