Poème Noir

I know this perfume looks like a heavy bunch, but believe me.. this is a story of a humble writer. One that spends his time drinking, smoking, writing love letters to his beloved.. but she does not know of him.. a solitary man with a beautiful soul, words that can captivate.. soft and mysterious like the flowers he compares to her to.. This man by no means is dirty, or careless. He is refined and sharp, conscious of every move, a gentleman. This perfume lays on a hybrid chypre base, taking you to a classic romantic setting,, but of course.. nothing animalic. This perfume is an intimate kiss, one that will captivate you.. Despite it’s intimacy you will find traces of it until the next morning, and it will stick in your mind for longer.. The rum and tobacco sweeter than ever,, enough to lure you in for more? An absolute addiction. This will be the first bottle I pick up from this line. This one to say the least, is the most intriguing and captivating from the line, romance noir and poémé noir are lost lovers... There is a lot of tension between these scent’s they are truly a harmony, and curated to fit the energy of this brand. Well executed, Bravo!.

Poeme Noire is an excellent example of a beautiful vintage tuberose and tobacco fragrance. It is a little bit dirty, yes, both from the tobacco as well as the whiskey note. Very tastefully done in both regards. They provide depth without any harsh animalic behaviors. My personal favorite aspect of this fragrance is the ink. A similar idea to that of MUSE from YSL, but I feel the concept behind this is stronger. This fragrance feels like you are writing a letter late at night when everyone else has gone to bed and are in a deep sleep. You are heartbroken, and you simply must write down your thoughts to your lover. Flowers from before, still resting on the table. Not in water, but simply on the table. All that is aiding you is the light from the moon within the night sky. This is in a classic CHYPRE style. Not very strongly, but just enough to establish that classic personality. Heartbreak feels the same, no matter what moment of time you are in. I consider this fragrance true art. That goes for every fragrance from this entire brand. I love it. And I could discuss it for hours.

Poeme noir is a good, strong tobacco fragrance that has some really interesting white floral facets. I don't get much booziness on skin, but the woody earthiness of whiskey comes through clearly. Honestly, I have a lot of trouble articulating why I really love this scent. I think it's partially because it's a really strong performer in both Longevity and sillage. But, it also just has this antique quality that I find extremely compelling. Poeme noir smells like the study of a man who has led a rich and fascinating life. Furnished wall to wall with antique furniture and knickknacks, every item priceless both in sentimental and economic value. It would probably be biased and hyperbolic to say that poeme noir is the scent of sophistication, but that's what it smells like to me. Definitely an old smelling, powdery type of fragrance, but in a good way.

I like to imagine that somewhere there are antique velvet curtains that smell like this. Opens in a whiskey like burn, paired with a deep honeyed cigarette. A floral cigar? The tobacco and tuberose heart is so smoothly spiced, earthy, and rich.

Rather than talk about the notes, I just want to say this is utterly gorgeous and of a quality rarely found these days. Transformative and attention getting. Incredibly complex with layer upon layer as it develops. Must have, and I do.

Kindof a scary first spray like fresh blood and ink, weirdly lymphy but not... not in a bad way. I know that sounds crazy, but I think tuberose comes off as weirdly body-fluidy to me, maybe amplified by the ink and booze notes. The dry down is nice though, a very light and fresh night jasmine which I love, mixed somehow perfectly with a gently smokey tobacco. It really does remind me of being out on a crisp night surrounded by a credenza of flowers and enjoying a nice nightcap with someone nearby enjoying a high-quality smoke from a pipe. It's transformative and kindof weird and I love it. I feel like a gentleman/woman spy would wear something like this. Or like.... Zorro, lol. It's mature and slightly sexy and mysterious Edit: tried spraying this again and I pinned down that first initial spray: it's very medicinal and reminds me a lot of Dayquil mixed with like oil paint or something, like if someone made an oil paint that was codeine scented lol. But that dissipates fairly quickly as the tabacco takes over. I still really like it! But the first spray makes me so nervous lol.

Poeme Noir started off strong, boozy and cloyingly sweet. Not everyone will make it past the opening, but those who stayed will get to enjoy one of the most magical perfumes you'd ever smell. Retro, atmospheric, alluring. Indolic white florals with smoky tobacco, but the ink and whiskey is what makes it so special. Whiskey here isn't smooth and full-bodied but rather peaty. The ink note introduced a fascinating metallic element that works so well with the tobacco and jasmine. It's the star of the show! I can see a 1920s socialite with an impeccable antique collection smelling like this. Intense projection and longevity; one spray and everybody can smell you for the rest of the day. It's a blessing and a curse considering the strong opening. Poeme Noir is more of an artistic perfume for personal enjoyment than one to actually wear outside. It's picky on the occasion and definitely not crowd-pleasing. That being said, I'm happy with my little sample.

If you smell in the air, it's a night jasmine, but if you smell closer, i will turn to be tuberose. With the whiskey note in the background, make this scent "white" turn into "dark". I really like it, exactly can be seen as an ultra upgrade from TF Jasmine Rouge, worth it <3

This one smells vintage. Take the DNA of big, plasticy amber floral from the 70-80s like Oscar, Kenzo, L'Insolent, etc, thining it out, remove a bit of the sharp plasticy smell and balance out the sweetness a bit then you have Poème Noir. In other words, a big floral fragrance led by tuberose & carnation that heavily influenced by 70-80s plasticy amber floral.

Initial impression was that this might the sweetest thing I ever wear. But once it dried down the tobacco really shines and only a hint of the initial sweetness remains. Very pleasant and romantic when applied responsibly. I say so because I put a little too much on and got a headache.
