Vahina

I don't get orange so much as just a nice creamy vanilla musk along the line of DKNY Pure. I like this one and Virgile (spa scent) best of the SD vanilla discovery set. Valkrie smells like patchouli vanilla, and Vanori smells like vanilla extract. These are not necessarily bad things to me, but the other two I mentioned are just solid blends. I am only using tiny spritzes to make these last a while. I would be tempted to get the 2 quarter-ounce spritzers of these that is one of the offers that come with the sample set. Vangelis is too smoky for me, but probably is the most daring scent. If you change just one letter in the name Vahina, you will get something very... female... lol. Sorry, it is just too tempting for my eye not to see.

This scent is so lovely. The "reminds me of" section is full of things I don't know except Cinéma, which I have and love. At first, I said to myself "no... not at all similar" but then I realised this is the YSL pillar scent dialled up to eleven... but no where near as elegant or refined. Frankly, I think that makes this even more likeable. Sometimes you wanna smell youthful, friendly and approachable. I think this does that. As for the scent, it's surprisingly full on. The citruses and vanilla run into each other head on while the dizzying orange blossom and osmanthus fly around the central notes. I love it. Osmanthus comes across almost peachy? Wouldn't wear it too often, it's not Smeraldo or Helicriss but other than that!

So far, my favourite of the set of samples I ordered from their website. A powdery, light vanilla that reminds me of the smell of a doll or something from the 90s like Eau Jeune from Bourjois. The powder is a tiny bit reminiscent of Eau de Charlotte Annick Goutal in EDP. Vahina is linear but so lovely. The only problem is the longevity - it fades by the minute...I would get a full bottle if the scent lasted at the very least 2-3 hours, but it is gone before 2 hours passed and completely invisible from cloth ( I sprayed my t-shirt and it smells of nothing). I'm so sad, this vanilla is heaven but too ethereal for my liking.

This remind me of parfums de marly Safanad but more soapy, more vanilla. They’re not the same but the creaminess and orange blossom that’s what reminds me of each other of those fragrances. It’s lovely, but a little too shampooey to my taste. It’s a bit artificial vanilla orange. Something I feel would make me nauseous if I sniff in it for too long. I do prefer Safanad over this. And Venori for the vanillas from this line. So few hours later it dried down to vanilla skin scent the soapyness went away. But it’s definitely not long lasting but very vanilla pretty skin scent on the dry down.

So far this beauty has the best longevity and sillage of the five. Both better than average. Vanilla, osmanthus and orange go so well together. Vanilla is not the obvious queen here. She is a part of the whole. Lovely and fresh. Creamy and delicious. A touch of juicy naturally sweet orange and Tonka. The neroli gives a little kick to prevent this being a very sweet scent. Very well blended. It smells natural and very feminine. I'd wear this with casual wear and warm weather days. It's another winner.

This is lovely. For me the osmanthus and vanilla are the most noticable ~ giving a nectarine/honey vibe, creamy honey. It's not a milky creamy, though, and very little floral, more fruit with the mandarin. I bought the discovery box, from that I bought a 30 ml of Vanori & Virgile and a 7.5 ml of this one. Great deal for the quality of the perfumes and I love Sylvaine Delacourte as a perfumer.

I've been wearing this a lot since receiving a sample and I do really enjoy it, except.... it doesn't last at all. After 2-3 hours, it's gone. I can maybe smell very faint vanilla. I really don't want this to be the case... as I think it smells complex, creamy, flirty, it's a very intimate scent. Update - I now love this fragrance, after so long deciding.

Soft and pretty! I haven’t found a vanilla from her in this collection, that I don’t like yet! This is very much a skin scent, so if you want projection, you won’t find it here. This is a cuddle in a sweater kind of scent and it’s beautiful! It reminds me of the smell of a Cabage Patch Kid! Pure nostalgia!

I wore the heck out of this beauty today and it struck me how expensive and classy it smells. Makes me feel like I should be shopping at a glamorous department store with no limits in my bank account. I freaking love it. Seems really underrated to me.

it smells identical to a fresh and tangy grenadine drink ! Really sparkling and fizzy fruity perfume with a vanilla undertone. It is lovely, however the longevity is quite poor but this is the price to pay with "natural" perfumes.

Just got my sample sets today and started from the deepest colour one of the vanilla set. This is stunning, sweet creamy vanilla. I'm not sure about the development, but the opening is already great.

Lovely warm scent. I scent a hot summer day, were this scent is a breezy pleasant veil. This scent reminding me of Armani Sensai, but a lighter version.

I like this especially on my skin. A bit more feminine but works for men as well.

I bought the sample packs of all 3 primary notes last year. I loved this then, but now it is just a like. Not because it isn't good, but because I'm no longer as into vanilla scents as I once was. Don't get me wrong. I still like them but the problem I have with most vanilla scents is that that note tends to drown out the other notes. Fortunately, I am not getting that as much here. I do get the citrus and floral notes and they work very prettily together but the vanilla is still front and center. Which is to be expected since this is supposed to be primarily a vanilla scent, so it does what it promises. Personally, I'd rather wear something like Bronze by Ellen Tracy, which in a roundabout way (vanilla/citrus) sort of reminds me of this, though Bronze is a lot more complex, is not as sweet, and the vanilla more balanced with the other notes. As far as performance, unlike some of the other scents in this line, I find it excellent no matter the weather. Honestly though, even if I still loved vanilla scents, I still wouldn't buy this. There are just so many vanilla scents flooding the market that you can find something comparable for a more reasonable price. Like Bronze, for instance.

I'm starting with my favourite of this collection so the reviews are only going to get worse folks. I've got to say that this Vanille collection are pretty terrible on the whole, something I was very surprised by considering some of the similarities with Guerlain's L'art Matiere line, glimpses of which are found in the musc and orange blossom lines...but oddly not the one where you'd expect to find it, The vanilla collection. Vahina (careful to avoid a typo the 'G' conspicuously close to the 'H' as it is) literally smells like Dramduie or a particularly heavy handed bartenders, Screwdriver in the opening a mixture of orange and breath of booze. There's a neroli/herbal green, petitgrain note freshening things up but generally when it settles has that effervescing, swizzles sweets vibe from Ozkan in the orange blossom collection. This one probably is the best from the Vanille ones, the vanilla being ever present and freshened up by synthetic, throwaway top but it's more fun than the rest, and mildly bearable to wear.

This opens with a blast of marmalade -- like you're submerging your nose into a jar of marmalade in all it's sticky, citrusy sweetness. In fact the orange blast was so strong that I assumed I'd accidentally grabbed a sample from the orange pack. That blast of citrus passes quickly and then this morphs into a sweet, honeyed, floral vanilla - very pleasant and classic and interestingly, not challenging or abstract as some of the other SD's have been, ie. Virgile(!). All day I kept thinking, I know this scent, I've smelled this before. Finally I went and sniffed my YSL Cinema, and ding ding ding -- that's it! This smells like Cinema, which is great, because Cinema has been discontinued - here's the replacement. This also has some resemblance to the original Lancome Tresor, imo. To me this is extremely feminine despite SD marketing this as unisex. Update: About 8 hours post application, Vahina is still very much with me and is now a gorgeous, rich tonka-vanilla. I'm really enjoying it!

This fragrance is built around an exuberant floral base. The vanilla acts more as a sweetener here, it adds a roundness, a comfort to the fragrance. The blend with tonka and osmanthus is really nice. I haven't smelled lots of osmanthus fragrances but this perfume makes me want to discover more about this flower, its fruity apricot edge is very pleasing especially its association with the vanilla. I thought I didn't like apricot in fragrances but this proved me wrong. It's a lovely floral fragrance, well-balanced, more on the sweet side but not cloying at all. I don't get the silly storytelling of an homage to this creepy pervert of a painter, honestly it's very embarrassing to see this written on their website, but if you can overlook that tackiness, the fragrance is well-made.

Vahina opens with a powerful orange note and then goes through a brief stage of herbal, woody petitgrain, before settling in to a soft and creamy orange-vanilla that sits close to the skin. There are indeed similarities with YSL Cinema, although I find Cinema has a unique champagne-fizz quality that isn’t in Vahina and is more of an ambery fragrance (perfect for evenings out somewhere nice!). Vahina is creamier, sweeter, slightly cosier affair and could make a great signature for a grown-up vanilla lover. I’d wear this anywhere. It’s a lovely, lovely fragrance in its own right and a certified wrist-sniffer. Although the projection is low here, Vahina lasts - especially on hair & clothes.

If I chose one scent from Delacourte's Vanille collection, it would be Vahina. On initial spray I smelled the watery apricot-like nuance of osmanthus and something a bit herby. The herby nuance goes away and I'm left with a watery-sweet peachy apricot-like aroma that smells sharp at first - like fresh laundry - then becomes powdery. At its heart, I'd characterize Vahina as a sweet honeyed vanilla that's smooth and creamy. It's youthful and feminine but I wouldn't quite call it girly, it's warm, and it's fleeting (lasted about 4 hours). Although I absolutely dislike the opening, the dry down (given at least an hour) is beautiful and makes it my favorite of Delacourte's Vanille collection.

Shockingly inadequate description of notes on here. The list is as follows: Top Notes: Bergamot, Petitgrain, Neroli, Mandarin Heart Notes: Osmanthus, Hawthorn, Italian Orange Blossom Base Notes: Madagascan Vanilla, Tonka Bean You'd be forgiven to think that this is sort of Shalimar-inspired, because of the vanilla-bergamot duality, but it is much more than that. In fact, I find it better than Shalimar, because it stays away from that 'cosmetic' sweetness territory. I avoid vanilla-heavy perfumes, but this is not that. The balance between vanilla and everything else is kept in check. It is pretty excellent to my nose and contender for a full bottle in the future.

"Floral vanilla" per the label . I didn't get much in the way of flowers in this. Opening was mandarin-vanilla, Kind of creamsicle, as others have said. Then it’s tonka-vanilla. I keep looking for Osmanthus or orange blossom. They are there, but kind of fleeting. I think what I notice most in the dry down is just the tonka bean and vanilla. Kind of waxy-vanilla-lip-balm. It's not dissimilar to the carmex-effect in the dry down of Valkyrie, but without the herb-camphor bit. It's not unpleasant, but not terribly moving either. I don't hate it. It's quirky and subtle, and reminds me of the smell of a high school girl's book bag.

I really enjoy this scent (I actually like all of her vanillas), but I wish it lasted longer and had better sillage. This scent is very unique as it starts out as a sharp green floral, and then quickly goes to vanilla, with a delicious vanilla and tonka dry down. It's really nice! But it quickly becomes a skin scent. It's hard to justify the price for something that fades so quickly. I would say that it has moderate longevity, but sits VERY close to the skin.

Had an ah-ha moment when someone mentioned it reminded them of cabbage patch dolls. I love this scent but do wish it was just a tad more complex. I find myself wanting to layer it with others which I get is a thing now. Still a lovely scent. Not too sweet, not too light, not too flowery. A bit like a dreamsicle... maybe like an artisan dreamsicle.

A lovely, creamy orange vanilla scent. This is a happy scent for a warm summers day. I find this almost too feminine to be unisex. It's pretty and safe for everyday. It's not unique, but very natural and beautiful. I would probably purchase this as one of the perfumes in Sylvaine's custom vanilla box.

Light orange vanilla, easy to wear. No hidden twists in here, this is playfully delightful to wear. I imagine lovers of Eau de Shalimar's citrus vanilla powdery soft combo would enjoy this though this is by no means as complex but shares the same gentle uplifting quality. A summer perfume to my nose.

Spicy Orange Creamsicle. Average longevity and light projection, I like this and would wear it in Spring and Summer. Linear from about 15 minutes in to the end (not a deal breaker for me). This might not be unique or a masterpiece, but it is very natural and a pretty perfume.

This gives me serious 90s shampoo vibe, think the original Herbal Essence in a green bottle. Very nostalgic, and I don't mean it in a bad way.

Lovely, soft, not a whole lot of projection. Lasts all day. Smells very much like Guerlainade.

Vahina is the fruitiest and sweetest of the Sylvaine Delacourte vanilla line. It has a fizzy, candy-like orange note, and especially in the beginning it can feel like you fell into a pot of homemade orange soda. I know mandarin is the listed note, but to my nose it could also be blood orange or just regular old orange. Of course, this also contains Delacourte's signature creamy-dreamy bright vanilla, which gets stronger in the drydown. After a while this smells like a creamsicle with some lush orange blossoms on top and an aura of balmy warmth around it. To me, the sweet orange gets a little annoying after some time (ooh no, now I think of the annoying orange videos, ugh). I don't find this special enough overall. But if you're looking for a sophisticated creamsicle, this might be just it.

The first initial spray of this is strong mandarin orange and it quickly dries down to a powdery citrusy-orange blossom. It’s quite a pleasant fragrance however this is not a love. There is a very soapy/honey like quality that I also smell. I feel like this fragrance is more mature, and definitely more feminine

A soft, powdery, vanilla that doesn't project a lot but clings to the skin. I am not a vanilla lover but I was okay with wearing this for one day. Very discreet.

Suppose will be the first one to start. What caught my attention, is the name :D Dont know if it indeed means a "woman" in French, but in other languages it refers to smth else. High expectations were crushed: basic girly dry vanilla that is slightly sweet, slightly sour. Doenst change from head to heart to base. Thats about that folks.

I have a tester of this, but I won’t be purchasing. It’s not sweet and juicy enough for me. I don’t get orange at all, just a lemon cough drop and caramel smell. In the end I had to wash it off as it was making me feel a bit ill. Ah well, you win some and you lose some.

Disappointingly plain and not well-blended. Pretty much smells like some amateur perfumer was playing around with a handful of essential oils and essences. I had very high hopes since I love vanilla + osmanthus combo but this is just meh.

Vahina smells like a cheap citrus vanilla car air freshener. Cheap and just bad. In fact, even the perfumes I have liked from this Vanilla line I don't think any of them except maybe the Virgile are bottle worthy. This Vanilla line is a bit of a disappointment.

I see Vahina getting mediocre reviews here, but this one's my favorite out of the 5 vanillas of the new Sylvaine Delacourte line. This one smells the most youthful and light, and everyday office friendly! I am 39 years old and I think it's quite lovely. Even though it's light and somewhat simple, I really appreciate that about Vahina, and I love perfumes that I smell and don't immediately feel like I've smelled it before. Despite its simplicity, I don't recognize Vahina's scent from anywhere else, so I impressed with this one! Okay, so I have worn this a few more times. I still love it--and even though it is a light perfume, I can still smell it on my wrist and clothes the next day! I think the initial spray smells a little like a less sharp / less powdery version of YSL's Cinema, and then middle notes are reminding me a lot of my Bond 007 perfume--creamy and a tiny bit fruity. I still love it, and recommend this one as a great every day or gifting perfume that is easily likable by most. Update: I ordered a travel size bottle of this one....It is a great scent, and although a lot of reviewers are comparing it to a generic body spray, I am impressed with it's quality and longevity! This one lasts all day for me, with just 2 sprays.

Vahina opens up citrus fresh, orangey but not orange juice, more herbal and zesty, like orange leaves or petitgrain. I like this phase the best, I wish it stayed this way. As it dries down, it becomes more syrupy and thick, the same texture as Hot Couture by Givenchy. This doesn't remind me of YSL Cinema at all, that one is much floatier. This is a sticky vanilla, but for some reason, isn't that strong compared to other vanillas in this family. I sprayed my sample all over me, and although I could smell it from time to time, it was never too strong or overbearing. An interesting vanilla for the warmer weather, because it will satisfy the wearer's sweet tooth without (hopefully) offputting others. It's not my cup of tea, as in the end it is just a rather plain vanilla fragrance with sudden bare whiffs of orange, but it's a good one to try if you are looking for a lighter pure vanilla perfume.

I wore this from a sample for the first time yesterday. I thought it smelled very pretty - so far the most floral/fruity of the vanilla group I have tried - but also thought it didn't last long enough for me to really pull out all the notes and figured no sillage since I couldn't smell anything. I was apparently quite wrong! A few hours later I was trying on clothes in a department store dressing room. I heard a woman walk by and say, 'Oh my! Whoever is down here is wearing something that smells absolutely gorgeous!'. It was me. I was the only person on that end of the room. I smiled. In the morning I could smell the fragrance on my clothes and it smelled beautiful indeed. Update: Of all the vanillas (Virgile being my current favorite) Vahina gets the most compliments from others so far.

Such a jammy, sticky, syrupy vanilla. Gosh, I totally agree with many of the comparisons mentioned - there is something of Hot Couture in this (with none of the fruit), and YSL Cinema, and for me Jo Malone Vanilla Anise but with only the vanilla element and none of the anise. It changes as it develops but stays very warm and sticky. At one point it smells like apple crumble but with none of the apple. I know that might sound kind of strange but I think what I mean is that the vanilla in this is as heavy as if it had been cooked and stewed into a syrup. It's nice but it's too dense to be an absolute favourite vanilla. However, I like the line and think this deserves its place. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Strange one....I don't like the opening which is too aromatic, probably given by the osmanthus winch IS very strong througout the whole evolution. It gets sweeeter after a while but I am not convinced although it's an original vanilla, not very sweet, with a mandarin twist ad and the aromatic touch of osmanthus. Orange blossoms come at the very end to overcome the osmanthus and match nicely with vanilla. It's not a bad fragrance , and pretty unusual with a remarkable evolution. Anyway its not for me since I don't like osmanthus that much and I think one must be more an osmanthus fan than a vanilla one to fully appreciate Vahina.

Starts with a sharp burst of citrus floral and very quickly settles to a Skin scent of citrus/ orange vanilla/tonka. It is beautiful at dry down but doesn't last very long or project. I get 4-5 hours, close to the skin. It is full bottle worthy IMO but i am likely to purchase only if i see it at a good price. Edit: Another attempt in colder weather I get a smokey sweet vanilla. It takes a good 1-2 hours for the smokey scent to disappear to the back (which is a long time, especially because i don't enjoy that smokey vibe) and then it becomes a sweet, powdery vanilla. I really do like the dry down. It's cosy.

Very obvious neroli at first, with vanilla. Then it turns to a faint, pleasant vanilla. I'll use up the sample because it's nice and easy, but I don't see why anyone would ever buy a full bottle; it's totally forgettable. A little vanilla oil and neroli oil would give the same effect. Actually all the samples I got are like this--the five vanillas and the five musks. They smell different, but they all have the same effect of being pleasant but boring. I've never had such a neutral opinion of a group of perfumes!

This is so lovely. A very fruity, uplifting vanilla scent. The osmanthus and citrus notes are very intense, but the drydown is all vanilla and tonka comfort. I feel I have had something similar, I see people compare this to Cinema but Cinema is full of resins like benzoin. This scent is light and more transparent. Vahina reminds me a little bit of Black Vanilla by Mancera (it smells like vanilla and peaches+osmanthus combo) In any case, I would love to have a full bottle of this.

I get a sweetened osmanthus fragrance with some orange. More of an edge of orange fruit, rather than green from the osmanthus. Moderate projection. This is overall a pleasant fragrance but not exactly my taste as I was looking for more vanilla to pop. The vanilla is certainly there but I wanted a vanilla fragrance with osmanthus, not an osmanthus fragrance with vanilla. If that makes sense. Dries down rather quickly and softens both in texture and projection.

Notes wise I should like this, but it isn’t working so well for me. The sillage reminds me of something available cheap, although... I can’t put my finger on what that is. Up closer, there’s a tart mandarin I really like, that part reminds me of Lacoste Junior, but the overall effect fromfurther away reminds me maybe of Avon Far Away?!! It’s sad.

Reminds me of a cross between Kenzo Flower and Chanel Venise in the drydown. I like Vanori and Vaklyrie the best of the 5,and Virgile is alright too. Once my samples are gone I won't buy a bottle. I wanted to be blown away, but these are just nice. Somehow each one distinctly reminds me of something else that's long been done before. Sorry.

I thought I'd like the vanilla collection more than I did. Vahina was the first of the SD vanillas that I liked. Soft, creamy florals blend marvelously with the vanilla/tonka notes in very simple, very pretty fragrance. it's smooth and silky, almost like a hand lotion rather than a perfume. Effortless and pretty.

Orange vanilla brightness. I have sniffed this blend many times as it's the neroli vanilla orange blend. I don't know if i'm detecting any osmanthus but the bright orange vanilla is clear as it turns into a bit powdery. It could be a summertime blend on a feminine skin, it will sparkle all around. Amusing.

The opening is a tiny bit harsh for me, it’s mostly osmanthus. BF said “bug spray” but I think that’s an exaggeration. It’s much nicer after the orange blossom and vanilla kicks in, becoming more sweet and pleasant. Vahina isn’t interesting by any means but it is a light and juicy, girly scent.
