Quest

I think this smells delicious! It smells like a yummy new age book and candle shop. I just want to wrap myself in something batik, light my candles and mist myself in this. It would absolutely smell great on men or women. I'd say this is my definition of a cozy fragrance, while also being very clean upon first spray.

This is quite nice, to my nose, and even fairly original. The opening mix of citrus and sweetness (tonka and vanilla) means it opens a bit like lemonade, but as it develops, the myrrh and the cloves and the amber become stronger. This is pretty pleasant, especially for the price--I suspect the less than stellar reviews have much to do with the fact that frangrance.net sends out free sample strips of this (which for some reason perfume buyers dislike from this company).

I like this. This is a nice warm spicy old fashioned fragrance. It smells the way men used to smell back in the 70's. I dislike so many male fragrances today. All the obnoxious aquatics and sharp juniper and herbal scents. This is a fatherly smell but in the best way. Kind of like Avon scents in the 70's. I got the impression of gingerbread at first smell. Warm, spicy, safe and cozy. Everything a kind man in your life makes you feel. Safe.

Personally, I think people are way too harsh on anything FragranceNet sends out as a sample. This is a classic, pleasant scent, somewhat old-fashioned but not at all bad. More spicy than fresh; very much an "herbal" scent. Smells like an upscale Italian restaurant, in the best way possible. If I smelled this on someone in person without knowing what it was, I would think it was a far more expensive cologne.

First Impressions: (booklet from fragrancenet) Smells like those new age spirituality witchy pagan shops. Y’know the ones with the overpriced crystals, and astrology books. I like it, it’s smells very heavy on the myrrh tho. So you have to love myrrh. I will also say that it smells like an older hippie gentleman that was an actual real hippie back in the day.

Cloves, myrrh, amber, vanilla and bit of citruses. Unique, herbal, green, warm spicy, and slightly sweet. Good sillage and longevity. Masculine & vintage tea scent. Most intresting scent on the line, agreed with how it smells similar to CK obsession as well, but with a prominent spice twist to it.

I really like this. It's hardly perfect, but something about it reminds me of Aramis 900, if it had a holiday sub-flanker. Not exactly, but enough that missing 900's availability only increases my affection for Quest.

@FireOrchid I agree with you, there is something intriguing and "new age/witchy bookshop" about this one. It's the only one of the fragrances from the Symétrie sample booklet that I liked.

Nice Freshie for the colder months. Mysterious in nature meanwhile pleasant in smell. Stronger than expected projection.

Semi blind-bought this after getting their booklet included with a purchase from fragnet. It did come with a Coupon Code, so figured it smelled decent enough and it would come cheap. I wish I had looked into reviews a bit more, as the juice in the bottle smells absolutely nothing like the sample included in the booklet. Not only that, but in the booklet the juice is shown as a somewhat "rose" color. The bottle I received is more of a light amber. The comparisons to CK Obsession are pretty spot on which, unfortunately for me, happens to be one of my least favorite fragrances. Quest is absolutely a bit lighter than Obsession and to my nose a bit less cloying. I could see wearing this during fall and early winter, could be alright during walks. For a cheapie, pretty good stuff. Not a bad fragrance by any means especially given the price, it just happens to share a lot of DNA with something that's definitely "not for me". I'll give it a few wears and see if it grows on me, but I fully don't expect it to and imagine I'll be pawning this one off on a buddy of mine. Rating: 5.8/10 for me -- CK Obsession fans or others will 100% disagree

Synthetic vanillic clove mess. Nothing interesting here.

Unfortunately, Quest is a huge miss for me. I come from a big Sicilian-American family, and this is exactly the type of scent all of the older men love to douse themselves with. Clove and powder dialed to an eleven, with just enough citrus to keep it from settling into something soft. One spritz on each wrist had my head spinning, even an hour after spraying. Maybe it's just because of the scent association, but I wound up washing it off after about 90 minutes.

I sampled this from the catalogue that Symetrie mailed with a FragranceNet order. Out of all of their scents, this one intrigued me because of how unisex they made this very cologney kind of perfume. It is pretty spicy, but it doesn't come across as a spice bomb because of the bergamot and citrus. At first sniff, it was almost like clean, expensive soap. I think I will be purchasing the full bottle of this because I LOVED how it mixed with Mugler Alien on the test strip. The combination made a very beautiful spicy citrus jasmine that helps fill out Alien just a bit more for me. (Plus, it's really a great price. I don't expect it to last long as an Eau de Toilette, but hopefully layering will buff it up a bit. I do plan to mostly use it for layering with my other perfumes to masculinize them as I don't really like wearing the sweet candy ultra feminine scents.)

Wow, smells like a thinner version of English Laundry No. 7, almost exactly. Spices and resins under crisp herbal notes. I adore EL7 and my husband wears it, so it's very familiar. this is like a good dupe. But being that familiar, it feels like a dupe to me too and I can't think of it as it's own scent. it might remind some people of Bvlgari Man in Black, for it shares some similarities with that as well.

Received sample from the house's catalog of fragrances. Heavily reminds me of CK Obsession For Men. This house focuses on captivating the essence of older releases. I would personally skip this one.

From the same Brochure mentioned below, this smells lbwey similar to what CK Obsession for Men used to smell like, 20 years ago.

It just smells like harsh cloves. I don’t like the smell of cloves. Overall, 2/10.
