Tabac Craftsman

This is very similar to Versace Dylan Blue, moreso than Dior Sauvage or Prada Luna Rossa Carbon. Very citrusy with a fresh grapefruit and quite masculine with the pepper. This is like if you took Dylan Blue and made it a touch more mature and sophisticated. At price per ounce though, Dylan Blue is a better value on discounters because they fill the same niche. Your experience with value may be different if you're from Europe and don't need to buy Tabac Craftsman with the added import cost. Still, even though it's not as good of a value, I prefer the class of this scent; however, longevity on Tabac Craftsman is relatively lackluster. Versace Dylan Blue lasts all day. Tabac lasts 4-5 hours.

A pleasant, lavender-citrusy fragrance. I get a vibe quite similar to Jimmy Choo Man Ice, another dumb reach for the warmer seasons. Performance seems not a kind of excellent, but quite decent for its price range(actually a 50ml bottle I bought is quite easy to carry, and to re-apply). It has a casual vibe at the opening, but turns to a bit spicy in the dry down which makes this quite wearable at the office. (This spiciness somewhat makes it easy to be pull off in cooler days as well.) Recommendable even for blind-buy if you are looking for a safe(crowd-pleasing), versatile fragrance with high cost-performance.

I definitely get the initial comparison to Sauvage. However, upon further use it is almost an identical clone to Prada Luna Rossa Carbon. it's very top note heavy, the pink pepper is quite synthetic without being sickly. It's a great office scent for indoors. the bottle is nice but the sprayer is a bit weak, requiring to double spray frequently. I recommend it.

This scent was a very pleasant surprise when I just randomly sniffed around a shopping mall. It reminds me of Luna Rosa Carbon and Acqua di Gio Profumo. Green, fresh, office safe. Great for the price. I'll add to my collection.

I see some users already noticed. This is a dead ringer for Fougere d'Argent. It's not a 1/1 copy, but it's great nevertheless. Just wait for the drydown.

How could anyone hate a 10$ german fragrance that smells like it just came out of Dior factory . Joined the sauvage line .

Mauer & Wirtz Tabac Original Craftsman is the most recent addition to the Tabac Original collection. In the past few years they've added some fragrances that I wish I got my hands on, namely Fire Power. Sadly Tabac availability in America isn't that great, especially for Fire Power. That said, I got Craftsman recently as a low-risk cartfiller to go with Montblanc Legend EDP. I also got the Bodywash because I found it cheap and since many reviews said it was Sauvage, I could use it with Sauvage clones if I didn't like Craftsman that much... Let me start off with this, Tabac Original Craftsman is not Sauvage, it is close but not quite. What it is is the thing I have been looking for in Sauvage clones. With Sauvage the pepper in the open and mid, quite frankly it gives me a headache. That said, I LOVE the drydown of Sauvage. It just smells so good. I actually found that Sauvage Very Cool Spray is the best with the bright grapefruit added in. That said it is not in an EDT so the bottle doesn't last and largely is a waste of money largely because of how much gets sprayed out and my attempts at decanting it haven't been that great. Belcam's Primitive Man a bit of takes that edge off and a good direct Sauvage clone and La Rive's Extreme Story is really good but not close enough to Very Cool Spray. Upon first spray, I got Very Cool Spray from Craftsman. Tabac Original Craftsman hits you with the familiar Sauvage opening but with the added grapefruit from Very Cool Spray. The grapefruit in Very Cool Spray, cuts down the sharp pepper in Sauvage and it does it here with Craftsman as well. As stated I haven't found any Sauvage clone to have that with Extreme Story being the closest but not quite there due to no grapefruit. I mean, you can still tell the pepper is there, but it is thankfuly less strong. It the mid I get a good amount of lavender, some tonka and some geranium. To my nose the notes in the base are not really detectable sadly. For some reason, the base isn't really there. Craftsman works best in casual situations and work. Performance isn't great and rather in line if you decant Very Cool Spray, 4-5 hours. Because it takes after Very Cool Spray, it is more spiring, summer, and warmer fall days. That isn't horrible but it doesn't project like Sauvage or even Sauvage Very Cool Spray from the bottle (likely due to how much sprays out when you press the atomizer and not the scent itself.) I mean it creates a decent scent bubble but not a projection bomb like Sauvage or even Very Cool Spray. Overall Craftsman is a good pickup. Is it a love, almost. If only it performed a bit more. I love the DNA but the performance is a knock that I cannot avoid. I give Tabac Original Craftsman a 7.6 out of 10. If the price was higher, I may think that Craftsman is not as good, but it is a good bargain if you can find it.

It is amazing what you'll discover when you blind buy something cheap to qualify for free shipping on a fragrance order. With Tabac Original Craftsman, I got a pretty good Sauvage-inspired scent with a fresh bergamot opening, lots of lavender and a base that veers off from the Sauvage notes into a spicy patchouli and vetiver that I like a lot. This fragrance is very inexpensive and does a good job cutting corners to get to its price in a way that does not make the fragrance smell noticeably cheap of revoltingly synthetic. Because of the way this fragrance dries down, it is office safe and a daytime scent for me. It also has enough heft to be worn in winter. I use it as an easy to wear, "dumb reach" scent on days when I have things on my mind and can't bother to devote the usual few moments to choosing the "right" fragrance. Craftsman works in this way because it is the height of inoffensiveness with just enough of a mature feel in the base notes that no one will think I stole sprays from one of my teenage son's colognes. For the great prices it is available online (I paid a bit under $20 for my 50 ML spray) this is an easy, safe blind buy for someone seeking an inexpensive alternative to Sauvage. Personally, I cannot abide Sauvage EdT, but I like Craftsman just fine.

I definitely get the Dior Sauvage comparison. To me it's like Sauvage mixed with a shaving cream type of smell. The performance on this is fantastic. This is a nice bang for your buck type of fragrance. It's not as refined as Dior Sauvage but it's a good cheaper alternative. This is also an easy blind buy and if you're curious about it just give it a shot. I purchased a second bottle after trying it. It's worth it for the price. This is a good masculine fragrance for any time and situation.

First of all, it really reminds of sauvage and secondly it's a great everyday perfume which could get you compliment. It is a floral smell with hints of woody, spicy, warm vibe. I personally don't like it's opening note (it's like a cheap perfume) but, I love it's middle and base notes (it feels like a really good quality fragrance).

For the amount of money that this fragrance costs, i would say its a good catch. A bit generic, gives that sauvage vibe, maybe cause of spices and lavendel.Clean, fresh, light and pleasant. Not that long lasting , but for a spring or summer time, would be a good choice.

For me this is one positive surprise. Fresh and clean - well balanced casual scent and great value for money. Overall 8/10 I recommend this for 35+

I do not like this, I accidentally bought it when I thought it was the original. They aren't far alike but this one is a little fungi-like which isn't too pleasant.

You need to compare it with that Tabac to even tell the difference. But this one seems somewhat deeper, maybe closer to Polo Green? ⸻ No, it’s utter crap resembling a drugstore mess of sweetness, nothing.

A greener sauvage edt with less pepper and no Ambroxan but a strong masculine lavender Bergamot scent this mirrors sauvage until dry down when it has a nice green scent ,worse projection and longevity but at its price point it is excellent value . Overall a magic scent , i actually prefer the dry down for its more woody and soapy notes in an office or day to day environment . Spray bottle is nice looking but sprayer is a little weak 8/10 - if you see it buy worth adding to any collection .

First of all don't think that you can fool anyone in thinking you are wearing Sauvage using this. It's quite pleasant, but not close to Sauvage. A closer clone would be Whisky Black Op if you are after a simil Sauvage, now that Zara dropped its own clones. Said that if you don't have a large collection and you're over 40 you can definitely give this a chance since it's very cheap.

This smells more like the top notes of Prada Luna Rossa Carbon (PLRC) than it smells like Sauvage. Where PLRC ends up something quite a bit like Sauvage in the drydown, this stays closer to where it started. So, if you like the opening to PLRC, you will like this quite a bit.

Outstanding. Modern, masculine, barbershop in the same vein as Prada Luna Rossa Carbon & Sauvage. I love this type of DNA and this is too good especially for the price here of $20 AUD for 100ml which is daylight robbery.
