Tabac Man

If you're not freshly shaved or finely trimmed the minimalist beard then - sorry, this is probably not the thing for you. I am not shaving often, but whenever I do it I always apply the cologne and then if I feel like - the EDT. It's the best thing to start the day! Inoffensive, the cologne stays on the skin around 3-4 hours with a decent projection and scent trail of around an hour maybe hour and a half. Then it sits close to the skin for a while. The EDT has a slightly different dry down. It lasts a fair amount of time 4-6 hours maybe. Not expensive and definitely makes you stand out from all the cliche Nivea aftershaves.

Just before bed, I grabbed this (I often grab an underused fragrance in my collection before bed) and just as I lay down I had the strangest aha moment. You see I just bought Assad from Lattafa and I really got a similar vibe. The Assad has a bit of that Lattafa profile and is a stronger performer so they are not the same but it was the scent that instantly jumped into my head. Ok, so what is the reason for the review? I have not read anything here recently about Tabac Man, I bought it a year or so ago as an avid wet shaver into old aftershaves and popular brands. I have not read reviews recently or even now as I write this, but I am curious. If Assad is considered a clone of Sauvage Elixir, I got the Assad vibe from Tabac Man, I have now checked the notes and see similarities between Sauvage Elixir and Tabac Man so are they in that ball park? I even picked a slight bit of the Sauvage EDT vibe from Tabac Man, not at all the same there, but enough that I could understand a connection and from what I hear Elixir is not that similar to its source either. I don’t know, it bothers me that designer prices have gotten so high. I am sure Elixir is great, but the price is a tough pill to swallow if other houses have the same vibe at a better price? I really need to try Elixir to find out about these items. Tabac Man itself is pretty good, and inexpensive. I get no similarity to original Tabac, and the longevity and performance here is soft, but still a pretty nice mature scent profile. From a classic house. What do you guys think?

I do get the Axe body spray association with this fragrance. And I do think it has a 2000's sort of vibe. Whenever I get a new fragrance, I like to capture my very first impression. And Tabac Man was "Smile Like You Mean it" by The Killers. I like that song. And I like this fragrance. The Axe association eventually broke down in my mind when I could definitely identify quality component parts. You can detect an actual geranium or a real cardamom note. It is good quality, unlike Axe, which is just a chemical type of smell, start to finish. I would say you should give this one a chance. Understand that you may think it smells like Axe at first, but I don't think you will forever and I don't think it smells that way to other people. Consider Tabac Man Gravity for something more "current" and mild. Consider this one of you want something more masculine and powerful. I got both and I'm wearing both. It's a very good line of fragrances. I wear the 1959 formula as well.

A classic, timeless men's fragrance. Starts fresh and quite sharp. Even a little green. After half an hour it softens and something vanilla-like begins to emerge, along with woody notes. Because of the light vanilla note, it never becomes dry-woody. On the contrary, even a bit creamy, but never sweet. Probably the combination with sandalwood? In my opinion, there isn't really a mid. It just starts off fresh and spicy and then moves pretty quickly to a vanilla-sandalwood base. I like the base even more than the top. The accompanying aftershave is also excellent in every way.

I just went to a delegation abroad. Didn't want to take any expensive perfume with me, so I just went to the Rossman next to my hotel, and got this for 10€(50ml). For that price, I was really surprised for the good. It is a light aromatic fragrance. Not anything too bold, just good for daily use. Today I tried and bought the original Tabac, for 9€ to 30ml bottle. Again, for that price, I get a really nice fragrance

Tabac Man is an underrated aromatic fougère that blends fresh citrus, lavender, and warm woods into a clean, masculine scent with a refined old-school character. Did I mention smelling clean? While it won't wow those seeking originality or beast-mode performance, it's an affordable, versatile fragrance that delivers dependable sophistication well above its price.

Personally, a wonderful all-rounder everyday fragrance for work/school/university wherever. It's not too strong to the point where people want to run out the room, but it gives your personal space a good smell. For a very cheap price, this does make an excellent daily use Fragrance if you don't want to spend much.

Vetiver, spices and wood. Bold and intense ... travels you back to the 1980's. With nods from Trussardi Uomo to Drakkar Noir. Earthy smell that projects well and lasts. A great effort!

This is a very nice, modern kind of undeniable aromatic fougere. Keep in mind, this is nothing like the OG.

I had this when I was in high school. My father used to wear regular Tabac which I still like very much, and I also had a bottle of Culture by Tabac Arena di Roma (not listed here in Fragrantica) which was quite ok. Based on these positive experiences I decided to try the Tabac Man as well. My memories are quite vague, although I can remember I wasn't especially fond of it. Today I was shopping for groceries in a nearby supermarket and spotted this in the cosmetics aisle. One spray on both of my wrists and it all came back to me. Some citrus and lavender in the opening, spices and sandalwood in the base. Absolutely boring and unimaginative. This has nothing in common with the lovely Tabac Original, it's just a generic supermarket scent. Don't bother!

This was given to me just because, and I have sample it with my hand lotion and I can really tell is not my kind of frag. It got too cloying and it reminded me the cheap car or buses air freshener that it will make you want to throw up at some point during the trip. Totally a thanks, but no thanks. Reading the first review: Please I hope not all men would ever smell like this.

This is NOTHING like the original Tabac. This is just like a cheap body spray you’d get from the grocery store. eBay sellers asking so much for this. Crazy. I don’t love being negative, but this is like Axe body spray.

I made the mistake of buying this without trying it first. Do not, I say DO NOT, be fooled by the cool bottle, low price, list of notes or the "Tabac" brand. This is just not a good fragrance. It starts off smelling nice and strong, dark and leathery like Trussardi Uomo. I thought I'd just bought another great powerhouse. Once the top notes fade and the heart kicks in, that's when the misery begins. The poor construction and cheap ingredients in Tabac Man can't hide. It smells like a bland, amorphous blob of smell, with no facets, complexity or character. Tabac Man smells cheap, almost like floor wax, chemically synthetic to the very end. If they had used a higher percentage of natural materials, Tabac Man probably would be a much better fragrance. Sure, Tabac Man might be a powerhouse, but who wants to project something that smells terrible?

Tabac man is an everyday perfume to wear. It's not the end of the road, it's not an expensive and complicated smell. It's a perfectly accepted masculine perfume to wear while you're at work, or somewhere where you wouldn't wish to use your expensive bottles. Would you go to the supermarket wearing Bulgari's Black Orient Man, or Langerfeld Classic? If not, you may use Tabac man. I strongly disagree with the negative comments. "De gustibus non est disputandum" of course, but I cannot understand why someone would appreciate Tabac Classic but not the heavier Tabac Man.

Hi There everyone, I think this is one of the worst parfums I have smelled. Headache in a bottle. Very generic, very explosive, somewhat masculine yet synthetic and boring scent. Tried in in a supermarket two times, just to be sure. Both times was disappointed. There are many comments, positive ones, yet one thing is certain: LONGEVITY OR POWER IS NOT EVERYTHING. Avoid this stuff, there are plenty affordable parfums better than this one. 3/5 - This could be appreciatd by older people, seems its working.

This might be the best fragrance of entire tabac line. It reminds me a lot of Zino Davidoff with its patchouli/shaving foam type of scent. Its definitely very similar to that fragrance, with maybe slightly weaker performance and longevity. But an excellent fragrance all things considered, this is on my soon to be buying list for sure

My dad is a big fan of it. First time he bought it in Germany and since that he couldn ́t get in anywhere. About 2 years ago I have seen Tabac in my local store and bought for him immediately! It ́s so masculine and really nice scent. Long lasting!

Grrr... so masculine and sexy. Love it on my boyfriend and on my father. Deep, sharp and very intelligent.
