Bad Lily

This is a beautiful lily of the valley fragrance. It started off a bit bitter—perhaps that’s why it was called Bad—then transformed into a magical, sweet lily fragrance. It’s rare for me to enjoy lily of the valley (it usually leans indolic or smells like funeral flowers), but I absolutely loved Bad Lily. I’m considering getting a full bottle closer to spring next year, just in time for my birthday in May—since lily of the valley is my birth month flower.

The name "Bad Lily" is on point here. This is not your grandma's polite lily fragrance (though I love those, too). There is a sharp green note at the opening that reminds me of L'Ombre Dans L'eau. Then the LOTV comes in, offering some rounding to the green notes. I get wafts of it as I move my body, and I'm constantly thinking, "What smells so good?" Bought the 10 ml (love that they sell those) and will be buying a full bottle soon.

A great Indie find, deserves the high praise! On my skin it opens with a clean, green that never goes too sharp. Then it slowly transitions to a creamy floral that almost reads like juicy papaya or guava on me. It never veers away from smelling fresh and clean, though. It’s relatively short lived, on me 3 maybe 4 hours, but I’d say it’s worth it because it’s unique and the whole wear is enjoyable to me.

I got it as a blind buy, because the name Bad Lily and the fact that it won an award intrigued me. At first I regretted my decision when the courier reminded me of the new tariffs between USA and Canada and when I discovered that Bad Lily is not really my style. It's a very very white (and maybe a little soapy) fragrance, and I usually go for darker/deeper notes. It grew on me once I discovered how green and fresh it is, and how much better it performs outdoors. It reminds me of a dewy, moody forest full of twisted vines and blooming white flowers everywhere. I do not detect lily of the valley in it specifically, just a white flower smell, with the stem and all. I think it's a perfect fragrance if you want to spend some time in nature, it feels like it belongs there and doesn't interfere with it. It's not a very "me" fragrance or a signature material, but I do really enjoy it, it's unique and different from everything else I own. I think very well blended fragrance and most people will enjoy it.

This is a beautiful lily - but also a lily on a power trip. It’s not demure. It has a soapiness to it that when combined with the sweetness of the plum is unusual and assertive. I get a lot of the musk, but less of the green notes than others seem to experience.

It is a very nice fragrance. Green and floral and clean. I just wish it lasted. Doesn't last more than 1-2 hours. Maybe up to 4 hours if you really try to sniff it.
