Pumkini

I first met Pumkini in Incheon Airport and walked away from it. Clean break. And then I thought about it for months. I ended up buying the full bottle in Tokyo, plus the smaller 14ml egg and the solid. Which seems a bit overboard, but it makes sense once you smell it. It’s not the syrupy, cinnamon-heavy pumpkin you expect. It opens cool and almost airy, like a crisp, early autumn morning . The pumpkin is soft and fleshy, not spiced and not at all cloying. The coconut milk smooths everything into something pale and velvety, while the ginger keeps it awake. My only qualm with it would definitely be it's longevity. I'm not someone who minds reapplying throughout the day as needed, but I really just wish it would last much longer on the skin. Though on clothes or hair, it sticks pretty well. I was looking for a gourmand that felt composed and not-too-much, and not another vanilla. This is that girl. I find it to be incredibly wearable for most, if not all, occasions. It's fresh, lightly creamy, and highly addictive. It wears close but gets noticed. If you want a gourmand that feels restrained and editorial rather than sugary, this is it.

Pumkini is an unique scent. Started with a bit spicy/herby of shisho leaves and fresh pumkin. Then getting smoother with the coconut linger with the sandalwood note. Note this is a fresh cut pumkin note, this perfume leans more on a clean- herby/spicy vibe. Not to be confused with the american pumkin spice. On skin, only last 2~3 hrs. However I found it linger on my hair and clothes for the whole day. After a year using the eggshell version of this, I finally decided to get the full size bottle. Money well spent! Very unique scent. Doesn’t smell like anything I own. I have the small version that’s in an egg design and I adore the packaging so much. I don’t smell any pumpkin in it though. The whole composition is on the spicier and woodier end (maybe pumpkin spice??). Either way I enjoy wearing it, just wish it lasted longer and projected stronger.

It might be considered a common or familiar scent but that also means it’s less polarizing. For the price, I think it’s a really solid fragrance. Amid the familiar notes the pumpkin adds a kind of cozy softness that makes it surprisingly charming
