Fruitchouli Flash

I am quite taken with this fragrance! Over time, I have come to know that that I love plummy scents. While the notes state apricot and peach, the actual result of this wonderful yummy concoction is plummy (or maybe "jammy" is the correct way to describe it). This perfume is definitely reminiscent of: 8e Jour Yves Rocher, Mauboussin Mauboussin and Shiseido 's Feminite du Bois (and then of course, it follows that Serge Lutens' Feminite du Bois, and Bois et Fruits would also fall into this category). These all describe themselves as basically: balsamic, woody, warm, spicy, amber, sweet, powdery, honey, woody and fruity. Andy Tauer is a brilliant alchemist, and he has captured this plummy, woody goodness with his Fruitchouli Flash. I love that it has patchouli because I love me some dry patch, but to be honest, I can't really detect the patch in this Tauerville potion, and so I will say that it is perfectly balanced in that the whole thing just smells good together in the bottle! I don't always need to pull out each note and remark on it. We don't do that with food... "oh, say, the balance of pepper and basil in this dish is perfect!"... or whatever. In the end it is the entourage effect that captures us, right? I love, love, love, this newest edition to my plummy-woody collection. It starts out like most Tauer's...strong and proud, but over time, it settles warmly close to the skin and makes for a great cuddle scent. I would say, of all the perfumes I mentioned above, this one is the "lightest". Easier to wear in spring, and maybe even summer. The others can be a bit heavy outside fall and winter. UPDATE: it's been over a week now, and weirdly. I can smell the patchouli now... but only on the first spritz. After that, it's all the plummy goodness. But yeah, some days I can detect the patchouli and others not. Fwiw. UPDATE #2: Now patchouli is all I can smell! This is certainly a lively, living, breathing scent. I do love it.

I love this! Fruitchouli Flash opens warm and creamy to balsamic with lots of sweet, juicy peach and apricot. Especially the apricot has an almost milky quality to it. Though not listed, there must also be some resins in this. The only thing I don't love about FF is that the patchouli has a camphorous/mentholated edge at first, at least when I put my nose directly to my skin. Luckily, the scent is strong and projects well, so I don't have to, and after an hour or so, the patchouli is just earthy, maybe a bit woody, and not minty anymore. The earthiness balances the sweetness of the fruit. Over the time it gets support from musk. This musk is so skin-like, natural and slightly sweet, very cocooning. There is nothing sharp, soapy or sweaty about it, it's just beautiful and blends so well with the apricot. In the drydown I can also smell a hint of spices. This perfume is really more than the sum of its parts. The notes sound okay, but similar to so many current designer fragrances and not that creative, BUT this is a completely different take on the fruitchouli theme. The musk and patchouli are at the same time very recognizable and very different, also the apricot is so naturalistic and sets this apart from the usual peach notes. Don't get me wrong, I love me a good mainstream fruitchouli, but this is not only good, but also original and I adore that. Must-try if you like fruit and patchouli or warm and balsamic scents and want something special.

Wowza! Gucci Rush on steroids, a 2000's gal wearing a patent leather mini skirt, really big jewelry, and chewing a tutti frutti bubblegum. Hippie patch, very strong and very earthy, mixed with overripe peaches and apricots. My SO's reaction (he entered the room where I sprayed it like 6 hours ago) - "What is this terrible, stale medicinal smell??" - just FYI - this is the type of reaction you might be getting with this little number simply because it's so strong and edgy. From people who aren't into perfumes, obviously. However, this is nice and cheeky, I really like it. Not for the faint hearted. Bombastically strong, it needs open spaces. Humorous, fun, - it's a parody on all these coco-mademoiselles and miss-diors that we used to have. Those perfumes which are so passe as for now, but were a big deal. The parody here is better than the original. It's dense and unapologetic, and the quality of ingredients is certainly there. It's a bit over the top, brazen-faced, but still beautiful. My guilty pleasure from now on... it makes me want to come back to the year 2005 and get this big bottle of Coco Mad again! Wait... I'd prefer getting Fruitchouli instead, all the "OMG what's this smell" notwithstanding. It's great! Fruitchouli, unpolished.

Sophisticated Hippy Just got this today, and couldn't wait to write about it! Who would think that Andy Tauer would dare make a fruit patchouli fragrance! Well, he did, and it's Fabulous! I even bought this blind, as I know Andy Tauer perfumes, as have tested nearly all of them, and own a few as well. I love this one! The fruit is so mellow..it doesn't come across as a overwhelming peachy apricot..it just does what is expected..a touch of peach, and the apricot is a bit deeper into the heart. The rose isn't the main player here..it is soft, and blends so nicely with the fruits. The star of the show, in my opinion, is the patchouli ! What a darling patchouli! A calm, grown up patch..it knows when to make its appearance without being overbearing. It knows it's place..and it has a slight ego. It appears when you want it to, and doesn't disappoint ! It is still a patchouli , but he's now a sophisticated hippy..the timing is perfect, as well as the strength .

Ok...I just got a bottle of this in the mail today - blind buy - and I'm wearing it now. The patchouli is mild, not the dirty, earthy type. The fruit is creamy and sweet, probably tempered by the rose. At first I was thinking it smells like Nuits de Noho by Bond 9 but it doesn't have a woody note however there is a similarity there, in my opinion. I like it but not sure if I love it yet. I've got to "study" this one a little longer. Next day.... I LOVE this one! It is the type of sweet patchouli scent I've been looking for. It's what I wanted T.M. Angel to be but the patch in that is too prominent and goes sour, medicinal and musty on me. No...this one is perfect. It's a cleaned up patchouli....like if patchouli could take a bath in a luxurious fruity rosey bubble bath. Wonderful!

The opening has a sea salted air ozone peachy spun sugar sweetness but with more depth, the apricot is honeyed, natural distinct like cooking confiture. The patchouli is earthy but not at all dank, it's fuzzy and warm and blends with the rose to create a high quality incense that reminds me of a hippie head shop vibe from the 70's but with out the cloying headache and without the smoke. A very high quality nag champa rose over deep fuzzy patchouli. It is at once faceted bright and dark. Genius composition. I get so many compliments on this fragrance. I love it so much I have already purchased a second bottle. Sillage is average to above average but longevity is well above average seeming to last forever on clothing items like scarves.

Received the Gem today and let me say this...it is weird, its interesting, its odd and most importantly its really, really good! This is a must have if your a scent junkie. I love this scent! It brings a new flavor to the game. The apricot(which i thank is the most under use scent)is a fresh sweet and not dry as in the Serge Luten line and the peach is as fresh and vibrate as ever. The dry down is the key to this scent. It really takes on a form of its own. The lasting power depends on your body heat....but it does stay with you throughout the day! Taking no prisoners....GET IT!

swoon; HATE fruit fragrances but not this one, this is sweet fruit but with some curling layer of depth from the patch that is almost like and incense but not quite; HATE patchouli too but this is blended here as an element not a player; it keeps the fruit from taking over and there is definite musk; Andy Tauer, you continue to be my favorite indie perfumer because you are an original genius who is doing nothing like anyone else

What a fun fragrance this is. It almost smells like fruit punch in the beginning, but not a sickly sweet nasty one. I can't pinpoint what it is that tickles me, but I really enjoy it, and isn't that all that counts? I think this is something I will always want in my wardrobe as an everyday summer scent. Sorry this wasn't a intense thought provoking review, I just know what I like.

This is a charming and adorable riff on a genre that would have otherwise been played out by the time it arrived. The peach and apricot notes are gorgeously realistic, juicy and sweet. The patchouli is wet and mineral. Eventually you notice that it's all held together by a big, fleshy tea rose. There's a bit of the doughy thing that all Tauers have to my nose, but it's subdued here. I've never been a fan of fruitchoulis but smelling this made me realize it's because they usually don't smell like something possible in nature -- they're usually too sticky, too chemical, or too serious. This simply smells natural and honest, like a warm summer sun rising up over ripe fruit, damp earth, and heirloom roses.

I ordered a set of samples from Tauer, and this was among them. Wonderful company to deal with, very friendly and helpful, so do have a look at their website. This perfume is an intense and utterly unique blend. It's bold and smells very boutique chic. It's sweet and sour at the same time, like when you first put a pear drop in your mouth. A very sweet fuzzy apricot is joined by a musky dry down, and the patchouli is just detectable. When I close my eyes and take a deep inhale, I imagine a tub of rhubarb and custard sweets...a lingering, mouthwatering sweetness.

I usually do not like super fruity perfumes nor am I crazy about very patchouli heavy scents. But someone on a Facebook forum insisted that this reminded them of Mitsouko (my absolute best beloved perfume) and when Tauerville started selling samples, I thought, why not? And I'm glad I did! It is really very nice indeed, a rich fruity scent that in the drydown does indeed remind me of Mitsouko in some ways. And it lasts forever on me, at least 10 hours, which is very rare with my dry skin. I am so glad I tried it and may get a full bottle.

Tauer's take on "fruitchouli" fragrance is different from anything else out there. As long as I've been into fragrances, I find it hard to describe this one. This is not your familiar Coco Mademoiselle, Chance, Flowerbomb, La Vie est Belle, Jimmy Choo, etc. Took me about a year to really appreciate Tauerville Fruitchouli, and I found it's surprisingly better on me in transitional-to-warmer weather. I've also found that the Tauerville fragrances can play well together when applied side-by-side. I own five of them now. Each one is a gem!

A spontaneous date that starts flirty and sweet, and ends dirty (in the best way.) Comes in with a two pound bag of Haribo peach gummies and an armload of white roses that soon get rogered up by earthy patchouli. Brash and loud, it gives you a laughing good time, and hangs out til the next morning or even longer. And I’d call it “genderful” rather than “unisex,” sliding all over the spectrum–from sugary feminine florals to blunt masculine woods–rather than staying in some safe place in between. Fun.

This is a delicious fruity patchouli scent! I love the sweet apricot and peach opening, it's really juicy and inviting. The white flowers and rose in the heart add a lovely touch of elegance, and the patchouli base is earthy and grounding without being overwhelming. It lasts for ages on my skin, too.

This is, to me, a confectionary fragrance. Chewed up skittles on the opening, lifesavers musk on the dry down. Traditionally, Tauerville fragrances have an emphasis on ambers and resins alongside a minimalistic note or two. Fruitchouli is a bit more loaded in that regard, and goes in a much sweeter direction. For those reasons, this is the first Tauerville that hasn't blown me away.

Syrupy peach, slightly bubbly and fermented at first. I smell some patch and something a bit animalic, and then I smell a hint of the Taueraide, so little that it feels like a tease. I find this to be a simple, uncomplicated, straightforward fragrance. It doesn't project much, but it lasts a decent 7 hours before I feel the itch to re-apply. Nice but not a must-have for me.

The apricot and peach notes are very synthetic, and go immediately into a candy direction. Combined, they are much stronger than the patchouli note, and I wish it was the other way around. I’m usually a big fan of anything Andy Tauer creates. Unfortunately Fruitchouli is one of my least favorite perfume genres so naturally a pass from me.

love apricots and peaches...think it is OK, would have liked more fruit - on me this was more about the patchouli and musk and maybe 30% fruit lurking through.

Fruitchouli Flash invokes an aura of vibrant neon energy, unapologetic bold sweetness, and artistic swagger. It feels incredibly playful, loud, and almost fluorescent—the complete opposite of a solemn, dark headshop patchouli. It is a big bag of chewed up skittles. Performance: What is the longevity 10+ hours What is the Projection Top: Opens with a sweet blast of chewed up apricot and peach skittles that have been poured all over the ground in a rose garden. 30 minutes about a foot Heart: It morphs into a sweet rose and white floral scent with a musky and earthy base. 8 hours, slowly goes to intimate Base: Settles into a musky earth scent. 8+ Skin Scent What are the notes that I get? Apricot, peach, patchouli, rose, white florals and musk Is this one still on the market? no Compliments? No. This one is not my normal style and I have only worn it a few times. What attire Casual to Upscale casual. Places / events you can wear it Works better in cooler weather, art openings, indie concerts, terraces, casual weekend brunches, anything that is artistic or you want to show flare. Where NOT to wear this one: High humidity, the gym, the office. Who is the audience - age group Unisex, but leans feminine, my wife said I smell like a girl. Ha! any age Why you should try it. If you are looking for a great performing fruity fragrance, you should try this one.

When Mr. Tauer mentions: “Tauerville is a playground for innovative ideas presented in a down to earth approach.”, I expected something daring, like most Niche Houses are now approaching, hardly caring, whether those Perfumes will please or not. But literally Tauerville is a playground, after Tauer Perfumes. This is my 2nd buy from Tauerville, and without a doubt Tauerville perfumes share a similar DNA.. They are all Fun. If Rose Flash is a Satire, Fruitchouli Flash is the Joker of the series (in the very Best way). The melancholy mood of the Tauer Perfumes have been replaced by a Crazy Fun in Tauerville. Fruitchouli starts with a sweet Apricot brewing in condensed milk. Crazy Loud. Remains in this state for 4 hours and for the later part, it’s Patchouli. Not the Dirty One, but quite sweet and creamy. Remains Close to Skin The whole composition is not something very complicated but quite simple and like every Andy’s creation, Brilliant!! Sillage: Moderate Longevity on My Skin: Madding 8-10hrs. (very surprised to see, guys have voted, that it has “poor” longevity. Must check the perfumes authenticity) Longevity on Fabric: Approx 12 Hours Occasion: On a Casual Fun Day. May be at a Crazy Summer/Spring Party Night. Somewhat Romantic also. Rating: 9/10 P.S: This is one of the rarest Patchouli Perfumes, I am loving soo much, being a non Patchouli loving Guy.

This is very sweet - although not sugary - and very fruity. I get light patchouli and florals are soft, white and abstract. It has a sunny, girlish mood. The fruit is peach and I suppose to that extent there is some kinship with Rush, but the feel of the scents is very different: Rush is bold and modern whereas Fruitchouli is sunny and aims for a more realistic juicy fruit. I find absolutely no similarity with Feminité du Bois, or any of the Bois spin-offs; the Tauer has different notes - none of the woods, spices or purple florals and none of the moody, shadowy atmosphere. I am sampling all of the Flash series and I find them to be fairly potent and rich, with good sillage. I thought that other samplers' experiences linking this to Jungle and the Bois perfumes would make this a good scent for me but it is very different. I'd say it smells as the fragrance pyramid suggests, that it is very well-executed, and that it accurately conjures a youthful, sweet fruity perfume.

Oh wow, this one is better than I expected. Opens up very fruity with, strangely, some plastic smell. This reminds me of a when you're finishing up this sweet, fruity lollipop. You know the plastic sticks that have that hole in it that have that last bit of the lollipop remaining? If you ever tried to bite into it to get the last piece, you get that fruity taste, but with a bit of plastic (I know you have done that). This fragrance smells like the taste of the lollipop and the plastic mixed together. Somewhat strange, but I really do like that. The projection and longevity are through the roof, lasts at least 8 hours on my skin with strong projection in the first 2-3 hours, then a bit more settled on the skin. Lovely stuff, not sure if I would get a bottle as the scent is extremely sweet, and that can become tiring after a while.

Whereas I love the first four entries of the Tauerville/Flash series, Fruitchouli Flash--perhaps the biggest departure from the rest of the line--is simply odd to me. I've not smelled this much apricot or peach in a fragrance first, and with mainly florals mixed in, I'm not sure I really want to. On my skin, FF is very linear, the fruity notes dominating the entire experience with the florals a bit further behind. I hardly get any of the patchouli or musk at all in the base, and I suppose they're mostly in existence to bring the rest of it back down to earth. Overall, it seems to be the most feminine of the Tauerville line, even more so than Rose Flash, and I don't think I will wear it again. Performance is good, as a stronger EDP, like most of the other Flashes. 5 out of 10

I never say this but I must say for this, WHAT A LITTLE (BIG) GEM!! I get a slightly dusty patchouli with a more prominent peach note and for some reason, smooth faint Tuberose. Please do not judge this bottle by it's size, it holds some terrific juice inside! I sensed it had big projection and good lasting power. I also noticed that this smells very natural and for that price, I am really very impressed! :O I am generally brave but this was too beautiful for me to carry off so sadly had to let go to someone who'd be able to wear it better than me :D

Without looking at the notes before trying, when I put it on and got a huge fruit scent, I immediately thought "blueberry!" (and loved it) My nose was not registering peach or apricot for some reason. I am a patchouli fanatic, so for me, this was so fruity, with hardly any patchouli. It smelled good, I just need much more patch! Lasted around 3-4 hours on me.

So I recently purchase a decent of this to sample. I LOVE Rose Flash so much that I thought I would give this one a world. At first I get a blast of patchouli and some fruity notes. It was a bit much for me. I do enjoy the dry down, but the initial burst is overwhelming to my nose.

More fruits than patchouli and very reminiscent to gucci rush imo but with better performance. A happy fragrance that i could easily wear day to day but there is slightly something that annoys me ie nail polish nuance. Nevertheless i still find it an easy reach

This is very sweet and fruity, with no discernable patchouli, on my skin. It is also very long lasting on my skin. I find it very linear, with no development. It smells the same as it did seven hours ago, when I put it on. All this being said, I like it.

How do you know that they haven't tried it? It's out since the beginning of the week, i'm pretty sure people have actually bought it and tried it. These comments are much more annoying than anything here.

From a tiny sample, and a very small dab on my arms, it's potent. It's lingering in the air 8+ hours later. But the weird thing, the drydown is very, very similar to L'Air du Desert Marrocain.

This is really good. I got the "Lush" factor in this, a bit like when you walk into a lush store. Powdery to me somehow. Big blast of peaches and apricots. Earthy but not dirty patch.

Smells very similar to the "Honey I washed the kids"-soap from Lush. (Almost identical to my nose.) In my book, this is a good thing :-)

plastic smell,chimical and comparing to the other Tauervilles really ugly...sorry but everybody i asked feels pretty much the same...

One of the best openings ever. But on paper it quickly changed into a boring patchouli frag. Not sure about on skin
