Every time I wear this, I wonder why I don't keep it in my top 5 all the time. Hey guys, try this one. It's a very unique Patchouli dominant frag. No one is reviewing this, I don't understand? This is almost a clone of Nasomatto "Hindu Grass" at $180/30ml. But Patch Flash is better, with whiskey and leather! Update: I think this will be in my top 5, steady. I think it's Andy Tauer's most wearable, and enjoyable fragrance. It's a unique and fresh patchouli. This is a grower. I am aquiring a taste for this! This fresh green boozy note feels like it's coming from the Patchoulol itself, and so it is; Or the whiskey note seamlessly blends with the patchoulol (Patchouli alcohol). I wasn't crazy about it at first, now I love it. This is a Patchouli frag for Spring and Summer, it's very fresh. If you could make an alcoholic beverage out of patchouli, it would smell like Patch Flash. Or if patchouli had a blossom/ flower, it smells like it's in here. I think it's why I got a compliment from an older woman today, wearing Patch Flash. There's something floral about it, as a facet of one of the notes. This sour, boozy patchouli was off putting at first. Now I acquired a taste for it, and love it for it's fresh, medicinal, boozy uniqueness. I am appreciating the role the leather note plays: It's a creamy smooth, slightly smoky leather. There is a slight sweetness, seemingly comming from the whiskey note, which is in an accord with the leather. The first impression was this bright sour green note, like the "dill" note in Yatagan. I love Yatagan. I thought it may be the whiskey note, but after some research, I found it to be the"Patchoulol". It is called patchouli alcohol, or Patchouli camphor. It makes this patch very unique. Andy Taur's creativity is on display here. The patch camphor makes it very fresh and bright, in a green way. I think it will be my best Patchouli dominant fragrance for hot Summer days, yet it is an all season fragrance. Rating: 9.25/10 God bless. John 3:16

I love Andy & his wonderful creations. Patch Flash is no exemption ... As many have said below this is boozy, very boozy...Super cool & sexy, slightly dirty...unisex, but not for the faint hearted. A party scent, rich & classy, but unapologetic. In control, confident. Laid back, no need to brag & make noise...the presence of the wearer is a statement per se. Great drunk patch, beautiful silage and solid performance. Obviously I got a bottle.

This to me is the perfect fragrance. if i could only keep one fragrance for life,this would be it!!!! it starts of with a boozy(smells like an empty wooden barrel of Jack Daniels honey) followed by the yummy earthy patchouli,which to my nose is very gormandish. then the benzoin mixes perfectly with the spices. please try this. you might just end up falling inlove with it. longevity -9/10 sillage - 7/10 scent - 10/10

Patchouli is one of my very favorite notes. The opening of Patch Flash settles down within 15-20 minutes to a cozy and earthy patchouli with a layer of delicious gingerbread (this must be the spices in the official notes) that makes Patch Flash very cozy and wearable in cold weather especially. Super comfortable fragrance.

There's a patchoulol here, which is the alcohol of the patchouli essence. It makes it unique and more fresh than other patchouli fragrances. I still have 1/2 ounce left. Looking forward to wearing on a hot day. Just noticed it's discontinued, too bad. Hindu Grass has a similar freshness, but also may be discontinued.

straight up dry herbal patchouli and smoke with a bit of powder in the top; not a hippie/sweet vibe; dries down with an amber and dry leather in the middle that is creamy with the benzoin present and soapy in the base with an almost fruity waft

Caught me by surprise. Rose Flash blew me away but this is right there with it. There's a rich earthiness, almost dirty but not quite - like a deep green, gooey, chocolate cake. Warm, spicy and a little boozy. Definitely a winner.

One of the Top 5 patchouli fragrances I've explored so far. I want this one pretty badly, and I have a good feeling I'm going to end up with it before the year is over!

If you're a patchouli fan, this is a must have. The type of dry, woody, cedar like patchouli with a hint of earthy ness. It has a sandy, herbal vibe. Amazing.

Can anyone confirm if the the new Patch Absolu from Tauer is a rebrand of this?

I admit that Patch Flash is not an entry I expected to enjoy much. While I regularly enjoy patchouli as a heart and base note, as a component of a larger collection, I generally do not gravitate toward patchouli when wielded in dominating fashion by a perfumer. So in Patch Flash, as of now the latest entry in Andy Tauer's more affordable Tauerville series, there is a mix of elements that renders the fragrance quite agreeable. It's some amalgam of fresh, green, spicy, woody, and even leather/animalic. As with the entire Tauerville series, a note breakdown is not provided so I can only speculate but it's a pleasant expression of patchouli that is dense but not too dense nor too focused on patchouli. Performance is solid and the price point is reasonable, $63 for 30ml EDP. Patch Flash leans slightly masculine but is still quite unisex. Worth a try for anyone. I can't imagine most would dislike it but clearly the feedback is a bit mixed overall. 7 out of 10

Wow, that's some boozy patchouli. It's boozy in the same way that A*Men Pure Malt is boozy, which means that it smells more like a whiskey liqueur than whiskey drunk neat. Regardless of the additional notes, patchouli most certainly rains supreme and it's a lovely bit of patch at that. This is just simple enough and just interesting enough to classify as an easy, everyday wear. It's sweet, earthy, mildly resinous but very, very warm and inviting. Projection and Longevity are approaching all day, which is what you want at this price point and makes it great value. However, I get the impression that this will cause nose blindness for some people. I can't tell you why, but I picture this being the signature fragrance of an attractive young landscape architect. It just invokes fun lovin' natural vibes. I don't think the low rating is warranted, this deserves a much higher score.

I had a friend in high school who would have been able to rock wearing this. Patchouli and booze both loved her. As for me, it's something I enjoy smelling even if I don't feel at home in it. The sillage honestly smells like an old fashioned, one of my favourite drinks. Sweet, citrusy, boozy, a hint of wood like the whiskey's cask, a hint of something sweet like a cherry. Up close, the scent is more complex. It goes from woody to green to spicy to ambery with no pattern that I can find. That makes this one of the few scents that I can wear all day without getting bored. I will say that I feel self conscious wearing this before 5pm, because I'm sure I smell like I've been drinking. This would be fantastic at a bar, though. Down to earth but classy, just like the drink. P. S. I cannot wait to see how this ages.

Tauerville Patch Flash is a canonical example of a genre I recognize: the boozy, “sinister” patchouli. It smells sinuously evil, like something a wicked grand vizier would smell like. To some people that reads as “sexy”, but it doesn’t really suit my self-presentation. I tend to think that style of scent would work better on a man, though officially all the Tauerville scents are billed as unisex. I get full-bodied, almost fruity “whiskey” in the opening, with an ominous dark amber note (I would have guessed labdanum but apparently you can get benzoin to smell this spooky!) The patchouli goes down smooth, into shadowy depths, without any of the sweaty roughness that patchouli-dominant scents can sometimes have. Lovely exemplar of Villain Patchouli, if that’s your thing.

The patchouli note is fine but there's something else in there that I find really off-putting; maybe the same thing that reviews below described as medicinal or boozey? This one is long off the market and was hard to even find a sample for, so I'm kind of relieved I don't like it so I don't have to angst over finding a bottle.

Andy, I love your work, and I own quite of bit of your perfumes, but this one isn't working for me. I am getting dark amber with just a hint of patch. Not getting much complexity. Bummer. Might go and layer with Vanilla Flash!

Patch Flash opens with that ancient medicinal vibe that patchouli can have but in that special Andy Tauer way as if it were a cool mist in the early morning light. When it settles in it packs a powerful patchouli, it is neither the dank hippie sweat patch nor is it the fuzzy barbershop patch (thank goodness as so many patch centered fragrances do that on me!) - it's the "pure essence" of patchouli - the green earthy/woody patchouli and just when most other patchouli fragrances would start to go dank - with Patch Flash this delightful leather note comes in to keep it dry and structured yet deep and woody. The leather note is accompanied by these peppery notes but to my nose this smells a bit smokey sitting next to the leather, the benzoin is humming in the background not really noticeable yet as a single note but rounding out the other notes. After about six or seven hours the benzoin and the patchouli combine and take the fragrance into a creamy green skin scent that is truly delicious. This is a modern patchouli but it has aspects that remind one of the grand perfumes of the past. Amazing sillage and very long lasting. I guess you can tell that I am planning on purchasing a full bottle. I LOVE this line - every single one of these Tauerville Flash fragrances resonates with me.

I have a confession to make: Once upon a time when I had a profile on OKCupid, I answered a question that read "Would you rather be normal or weird?" I'll take "Weird" for 500 Alex!!! I don't care if you're black, white, spotted or dotted. If iconoclastic is your shtick, then you should enter the Patch Flash portal. Woo Doggie!!! This got some of that white lightning up in here!!! This is W-H-I-S-K-E-Y for sure!! Don't get me wrong! This is earthy but it's not HO HO HO Green Giant earthy(if you can catch my drift). Actually, i'd argue that the patchouli is embrowned towards the gourmand side of things...I said towards the gourmand side of things. I didn't say this was a gourmand. 8hrs later and the warm spices are still talking to my skin. Honestly, I think Andy's fanbase is annoying. With that being said, I'm a hypocrite of the highest order: I own 4 Tauer fragrances. Like they say in the dating milieu, "You can't help who you like" but in this case, I can't help WHAT I like. I use to think love was meant for two people feeling sorry for each other. Who'd ever knew one could love fragrances the same way we love humans. TWO THUMBS WAY UP!!

My purchase of a full-bottle fragrance from the online Tauer store was followed, a few days later, by the arrival of, amongst other vial samples, a perfumed card of the recently introduced Tauerville Patch Flash. Let me preface by saying that when making my purchase, I consciously did not opt for receiving any free samples. Patch Flash is like liquid wood, maybe due to the patchouli oil that is used in the manufacture. The card is no longer in my possession and yet the scent lingers to the point where I still smell it, not can smell it, but actually smelled it. That such a small sample evokes such a persistent memory is probably not due to the molecules' longevity and silage, but rather due to the instant recognition that this fragrance created. I am drawn, in other fragrances, to spices and also amber and leather and they are present here. And I'm much surprised by the initial boozy note which underlines an addictive quality. All this is energizing. I don't know if I should say thank you for this unsolicited sample: I am seriously considering making an additional purchase, and I am not much of a patchouli fan. It's that good.

I think it's a bit more masculine than feminine, but still has a sweetness. Doesn't smell like the patch I wore in the 90s. The longevity is insane... I can still smell it after washing my clothes. I've actually grown to like this and my bottle is almost done... If anyone is interested in selling, please dm me. Update: After searching literally for years, I finally found something very close. 19-69 Kasbah. It's not an exact match, but if you loved this, you'll be happy with the similarities.

Jeez this stuff is gorgeous. Best patch I've smelled in a while. Reminds me of PDM Carlisle without the sweetness of it. It doesn't smell like it per say but it's in the same vein. I believe it's the spicy notes that really add to the patchouli flare. Like a very expensive boozy soap . Of course it would be Tauer to create something so delicious, of course!

I like this, but I prefer it with a spray of 4160 Tuesday's Over the Chocolate Shop. I was going to declutter this until I tried this combo.
