A Drunk Rose A perfume for a person, who was waiting for his lover on a Wooden date table with Red Roses and Dark Wine. The lover never showed up. Waiting, He becomes Drunk and from his Shaky Hands, the wine spills over the wooden table where the Roses were kept. Later, he left, keeping behind the Roses soaked in Dark Spirits. Now, if one tries to transform this story into a Perfume, it will be Rose Flash. Rose Flash, straight away starts with lush red velvety Roses. The Rose here is Jammy, Syrupy and Sweet. The entire Rose structure remains bind with Resins and Woody Notes. The later 2 never declare their own presence but give the Rose a Solid Form. At dry down, Rose Flash gives away the syrupy sweetness and starts getting tangy. I, somehow enjoy the dry down, more than the initial part. The Best part is, you are getting Andy Tauer Creation at this nominal price and belief me, you can love this one or hate it, based on you love toward Roses. But, simply, you just can not ignore it. As my personal taste goes with, I am a Rose Fanatic, but still this Rose is a bit too much and somewhat gives me a headache. N yes, you just cannot wear it and forget. It is like those demanding lovers, who will always want your attention. Not a Safe Buy. Try before you buy. Sillage: Heavy Longevity on My Skin: Approx 9 Hours Longevity on Fabric: Approx 10-12 Hours Occasion: A Romantic Date with Formal Wear on a Fall Night. Or, on an Indian Marriage Dinner Party. Yes, I go with shravanevana. It somehow reminds me also of the Rose Water Soaked Indian Meetha Paans. Definitely wear it in open places. Rating: 8.5+.5=9/10 (.5 extra after the full wear in open places) Update (after a week): Last day, I wore it, on a Garden party and Wow, it works amazing in open places. The sweetness reduces to mach extent. Instead a tart spiciness (pepper?) starts showing up. I cant stop myself sniffing. Awesome experience. Moving it to my Love category, with .5 more grace marks.

I love the Tauer line, but I hesitated trying the "flash" series thinking they were "lesser" in some way. They are fabulous so far. Thinking the rose would leave me lukewarm, I was really pleasantly surprised by the depth, heft, and richness of this deep, jammy, sour-sweet, dark beefy rose (not a dewy spring rose). There is a slight lift at the beginning, and then it becomes fairly linear for a while--lush rich, resinous rose, the way a rose, gothic, heavy, "should" smell like in our imagination. It does veer sweet, so those who like "lemony" notes, dewey fresh softness, or more peppery may not find this to be "their rose"--though it does go through those notes initially, and, if you bury nose to wrist, you can find them. While this isn't a real rose--it's a real rose on steroids under the heat. It's a hyper-realistic rose, where every lemony aspect, dark syrupy sweetness, and peppery wood note converges in a swirl of deep reds and purples and trails off eventually into incense. So, while they're not the "same"--Malle's Portrait of a Lady, and Serge Lutens' Rose de Nuit are similar enough that if you like either one of those, you may like this. Conversely, if those price points leave you reeling, then this rose may delight. I have a lot of the Nuit, but my POAL is running out. When it goes, I'm probably going to stick with Tauer. The differences are there, but the genre is so similar, and I enjoy them both, that Tauer takes my purse. Also, I like Andy Tauer and his work. Silage and longevity are fantastic--really great quality, and another reason to love the more affordable Rose Flash.

The creation of Rose Flash has to be one of the more subversive acts in perfume history. Tauer himself has described his desire to make a perfume which upends commercialist patterns of wealth-based status acquisition and I think this was the very perfume he alluded to. How so? It is an incredible fragrance in terms of sillage and longevity, complex, rich, beyond satisfying even to the most rose-starved of noses. It is not just Turkish delight, it is what Turkish delight smells like in the hand of a witch to a freezing, hungry child. The ingredients are impeccable, framing real rose absolue. But: because of its low price, budget-friendly brand, simple packaging, and lack of an elaborate, market-researched backstory, it will likely never attract the frantic fan base that much lesser rose fragrances have acquired. This despite the coy urgings of Tauer to "Trust your nose." If Tauer had tripled the price and called it something like Rose D'une Courtisane Triste or Cadeau de la Sorcière du Nord , the reviews would be raving and everyone would feel they have to have it. But I and my humble little wallet am grateful that he created this treasure precisely as he did.

Let me preface by saying I tested this thoroughly during late spring - early summer, after getting samples direct from Tauer, and I sort of hated it at the time. It smelled like jammy rose, but slightly rotting fruit at the same time. I fell in love with Vanilla Flash though and I continue to love that one even more, so I decided to retest Rose Flash in the winter and give it a proper chance. Well, I just sprayed it all over my arm a few hours ago, and I could not get enough. My skin is reacting completely differently or my nose is. Now, it is like rose and expensive niche candy (with something that brightens it up top, but can't pinpoint?) and that very signature ashy note I've come to associate with many Andy Tauer fragrances. I don't want to say it smells like PoaL, but it is like the same woman might wear it for a completely different occasion, powdery rose. To me, it has some complexity, but doesn't change (which has been my experience with all of the Flashs so far), so now I am on the hunt for a bottle and praying my nose doesn't change again because for now it is a dream I am enjoying quite a lot

Rose Flash is the first Andy Tauer fragrance I've tried, and with much hype (and being a fan of rose), it exceeded my expectations. I've not tried his Tauer Perfumes line so the more affordable Tauerville line is my first try of his work. The blend is superb, balancing a mix of rose with a certain sweetness (vanilla?) and woodiness. I liked the "jammy" descriptor used by an earlier review, but Rose Flash is essentially just that sweet. Even bearing in mind that this is a pure perfume (higher concentration than its EDP brethren Vanilla Flash and Incense Flash), Rose Flash is still superb in terms of both projection and longevity, especially given that it's the same price ($63 for 30ml) as the other Flashes. For me, even though I own a handful of oud- and coffee-rooted rose fragrances (Cafe Rose, Noir de Noir, Rose d'Arabie), Rose Flash feels like a must-buy as it really occupies a different rose niche---not strictly fresh or sweet or woodsy but occupying some space between. A delightful blend that I'd recommend any rose fan to try. 9 out of 10

Rose Flash presents a fragrance conundrum for me to ponder. On one hand, I am a big fan of the Tauerville lineup and have seven of them (if you include the Stories Collection) proudly displayed in my Scent Armory. On the other hand, I have a very difficult time with the note of rose due to olfactory nightmares of my grandmother and her bridge buddies, all doused with rose perfume, while getting liquored up on a Sunday afternoon. But I purchased a bottle regardless due to how much I loved the others. This is a jammy rose with very solid performance in that it lasts a solid 12-hours on my skin and projects very well for 4-5 hours. While I am not a fan of Rose Flash on my heavily testosterone laden skin, I didn't mind wearing it...even though I didn't realize three sprays were so potent. Moreover, I really love smelling this on the ladies and encourage my girlfriend to wear this as often as she wishes. Final verdict is that I love smelling this fragrance on the ladies, but I'm not likely to wear Rose Flash on my skin. Cheers!

Ok, Rose Flash might just be my favorite rose scent ever. It’s slightly honeyed, with both pink petals and green leaves, rich and dense like a tapestry or illuminated manuscript. Definitely the Rosa centifolia May rose type of scent, like an old-fashioned, loose-petaled garden rose, rather than the redder, fruitier Rosa damascena type that shows up in “dark” or “dramatic” rose perfumes. But unlike most “garden” rose scents, Rose Flash isn’t cold or tinny; it’s warm and weighty, and comes in a full spectrum of color from pink to gold to green. It’s like the Persian gardens from which we got the word “paradise.” Over time, the rose gets a bit boozy, sweeter and richer than before. Rose, to me, is usually a tender or poignant scent; rose-dominated perfumes can end up a bit too “sad” to really suit me, even if I can recognize them as lovely in principle. Rose Flash isn’t like that. Something about the Tauer amber base keeps it feeling grounded, satisfying, and cheerful.

So much more than just "jammy" rose that everyone describes it as. It is a beautiful sweet jammy rose, but you also get the resins and an ambery quality. I feel like the ambery note that I get in here kind of gives off a bit of vanilla as well. There is also the slightest bit of spiciness, barely noticeable but I do get it, that could be coming from the resins. and there is a woody touch to it can't really pinpoint what kind of wood, but its not sharp, maybe a type of sandalwood. Such an amazing scent, sweet but still a rounded scent. The first time I smelled this off a sample, I immediately thought "BUY!", but waited for a second wearing. Then the second time I applied this scent from the sample, it only confirmed that I needed to buy it, and I immediately did. Even though this is a new scent for me, it has shot up to one of my favorites. Performance is great on me as well. Great lasting power, with nice projection and sillage.

This is stunning. Voluptuous super sweet and resinous so still slightly bitter rose. I love that Andy Tauer gets that this kind of extreme, buttery sweetness needs some citric bitterness to counteract - citrus peel and earthy rather than "bergamotty". Don ́t worry, though, sweet lovers- this is VERY sweet, BUT it ́s also interesting, slightly smoky in its resin/incense notes and deeply berry-ish - strawberries rather than raspberries come to mind. But the berry notes feel like they just come from the rose being intensified, so there is no fake berry present to my nose. It also has a clean, toned down woodiness to it. I hate to say it; but I could REALLY bathe in this. Edit: This. Lasts. Forever. I sprayed it yesterday at 6pm and today before I showered at 6pm again it was still going almost full force! 12 hours. It would have lasted a lot longer.

Rose Flash is everything I have been searching for in a gourmand-ish Tauer rose and then some! It reminds me of the rose used in Une Rose Vermeille a bit only amplified and more singled out and brought into focus. It is deep red, sweet, velvety and nearly edible. Instead of smelling like a rose bush rose (I don't care for overly authentic rose that ends up smelling like a tea party), it is like an abstract dream rose that you imagine when you look at one of Andy's rose watercolors. What you want it to smell like. It literally smells like THAT rose looks. It smells better than a plucked rose...it smells like a gourmand jammy version of nature's rose. Rose Flash smells like Andy actually read my mind on what I have been looking for in a rose focused fragrance. So much so it feels almost like a personal custom creation just for me.

Burning rosewood. The note pyramid just says wood but I am certain it's rosewood. Not rose wood but rosewood. I know how rose wood smells when it's burning and this isn't it, this is rosewood. This is the smell of burning a fortune in rare woods to sacrifice to the goddess of love and war. I don't know how people are getting a jammy note, unless they mean jamming rose sticks through the grating to feed the fire of a bbq on which they are cooking something for the goddess. This is not sweet. It's complex, it's weird, it's wonderful, and it's something I'd definitely have to be in the mood for. It's not the kind of rose one would wear on a date. It's to be appreciated for its own sake as an artwork, and it makes me more of a Tauer fan, and now I want to sample all the Flash fragrances.

Rose Damascena pure essential oil from Bulgaria. It takes 2 tons of these rose flowers to extract 1 lb. of essential oil and for that 1 lb. you're looking to pay upwards of $2000.00. Well, my frag addict ass ordered a little bit of this precious and sought after oil out of pure curiosity, I dabbed some on one hand then put Rose Flash on the other,,,, How the heck did Andy manage to damn near copy the pure scent of Rose Damascena essential oil of Bulgaria!? The spice, the tart lemon zest aroma and the sweetness........ People, Andy Tauer is a genius, a mad man after the heart of perfumery and a master of his craft. My hat's off to this creation. And btw, I'd rather pay $63 for 1 oz. of Rose flash than $175 for 1 oz. of Rose Damascena essential oil.

I've been neglecting this one for a while. I recently purchase Vanilla Flash and I found it surprisingly mild, as my recollection of Rose Flash was one of amazing sillage and longevity. My memory served me well. Normally I have a heavy hand when applying fragrances. But with literally two drops of Rose Flash I am surrounded with the scent of lush, jammy Rose and dark ripe berries dripping with honey and sweet aromatic spices. If I inhale through my mouth I can almost taste it. It is exquisite. I cannot believe how beautifully it projects.Very affordable as well. A remarkable work of art from Andy Tauer. I am happy to have returned to this one and have fallen in love with it all over again.

Rose is an extract de parfum...super potent, ludicrous longevity and heavy silage. I’m a heavy sprayer, but with this one I’m carefull and use only 2 sparys... This is a bombshell va va va voom kind of fragrance... It’s for the playful & cheeky seductress...fully aware of her charms...very flirty...could be a Scarlet Johansson in the movie He’s just not that into you... One spray for a casual day out, two for the evening...not an office fragrance. Great value for money. Overall I love it... I love Andy amd whatever he comes up with... This along with Patch are my fav Taurville.

I bought this many years ago and just pulled it out again because of the Rose/Oud craze that is upon us. I work at a Childrens Hospital and wore this to work one day. The highlight of my day is a sweet 6 year old girl telling me how good I smell, over and over again! It was the days before Covid19 and when she was leaving she hugged me and took a deep breath. I wear this when I need a hug deep in my soul. Thats the story, but the scent is a warm sweet incense-y rose. Its like sneaking a clove cigarette in the rose garden at sundown in the summer..

Jammy rose, what else can I say. Rich and warm and sweet and so so deliciously rosey. I adore it. Sort of gourmand, especially at the onset. However, with my body chemistry this scent really lifts, becomes brighter and fresher. It does not stay nearly as syrupy as it starts, which I don't really mind though I do prefer the opening as its more unique. Long lasting and very potent. Lingers wherever you go. Unfortunately this stuff causes an allergic reaction on me. I usually spray this on my clothes because of it, which isn't a big deal.

A gourmand Rose ! Sweet jamlike with reseny notes,, It smells very full and rich to me , I wouldn't be surprised if it has PRALINE in it as well as vanilla , amber , cloves and a tat of oud in it. Some sweet red berries? It reminds me of JM velvet rose / oud and Armani's rose d' Arabie . It now comes in a 30 ml spary as well on Andys new website called tauerville.com , he still has the roller ball as well. Also it is available at lucky scent. The opening is the kind of thing my nose lives for. I'd swear there's lemon or some other kind of citrus in there. This is a rose you can almost chew on. There's a bit of a mentholic middle. The first couple of wears it took some getting used to. Now it doesn't feel jarring the way it did initially. It's scrumptious. The rose becomes less pronounced in the drydown, though. All I know is that it gives great performance for a great price. This might be off my virtual shelf and on my physical one sooner rather than later.

I have to admit I was expecting more from this. I have Miriam, which is a beautifully complex, rich, erotic fragrance, and I was hoping Rose Flash would be equally beguiling. However, on me, its was overwhelmingly sweet, sickly-sweet, Turkish Delight sweet rose. A nice rose, once the sweetness calmed down, but really quite a simple, linear rose that didn't last more than a couple of hours. Towards the end there was a touch of lavender but I didn't get any spice, any depth or heat, any complexity at all.

A sour and balsamic rose on me, doesn't smell as sweet and sugary like the current Rose Jam offered by Lush. The rose in Rose Flash is akin to Portrait of a Lady (POAL) in my non-expert opinion. Funnily, Rose Flash really does smell balsamic in the vinegar type way and on my skin, I get very little sweetness the other reviews have mentioned (though maybe it’s because my skin runs dry and cold). A very sophisticated wear, definitely sample as rose can be done a million different ways in fragrance!

If we were cooking, Tauerville Rose Flash would be a demi-glace. The Resin and oud don't seem like additions to the rose, rather they seem to be reinforcements magnifying the roses true essence. The jellied sweetness also seems to come from the rose being condensed rather than from sugar. It doesn't project so much as radiate from the body, and lasts for days. For me this is holy grail stuff. Truly unisex; I think it smells amazing on a man.

I just donned Rose Flash in front of my husband (one spray) and he immediately remarked “does something smell like sweet stale beer in here?” I held my wrist to his nose. It was Rose Flash. This one may be going up for swap soon. I guess it doesn’t agree with my skin. Also wanted to add that he’s a huge fan of Lonestar Memories and enjoys several of Tauer’s other roses, both on me and on himself. So strange...

Sweet, earthy, with a little green sort of rose. Excellent balance. Profoundly heartful. If you want to know what a healthy relationship is, love that lasts a lifetime, let this fragrance dry down a while, then inhale deeply. Rest your nose on your skin. Let this fragrance instruct you in the nuances of love and life. Worldclass fragrance. Comfortable like an old shoe -- my highest compliment!

Rose Flash’s opening reminded me so much of Angel Dust. Sweet but not cloying delicious sugar coated rose. You will get a good 6 hours out of it. It’s not at all like the traditional old fashioned single note rose fragrances, this one is deeper with a vanilla undertone. I thing it’s lovely and I will definitely wear it often.

I love this, in the beginning it makes me think about sparkling rose wine, then it transforms into a sweet, but deep fragrance that reminds me of rose jam - the kind made with Black Velvet Roses or maybe Nigrette Roses. It's just beautiful. Persistence and sillage are great as well.

Juicy sweet spicy mouthwatering Rose. This is excellent. I also just tried Vanilla Flash. I promise it's just as good. Sweet Spicy Vanilla with a touch of Tobacco. I'm hoping Andy continues building this line. Can't wait to see what's next.

this is by far my favorite rose - a jammy luscious rose you can sink your teeth in. the silage is enormous, so spritz with care. i also have the rose delight body oil from tauer - i haven't layered this combo yet, but i read it works.

Man this stuff is good. Sticky, boozy, jammy Rose. There's a boldness here; it's piney and resinous, like roses dipped in IPA. Works all year round, at all times and projects like a mfer. To me, Rose Flash is a masterpiece.

Rich, intense, and complex. Not a sweet girlie rose, but a clean rose. Boozy, resinous and slightly jammy. I get incense and smokey notes as well. I get at least 8-10 hours on my skin and projects well (beyond arms length).

Sweet grapey rose, some powder and maybe lemon diah soap which makes me think of doing dishes with the window open while rose bushes are just outside the window. Its sooo good. Lasts so long the value is unbelievable.

Hi can anyone tell me are the edp and the extrait the same scent or do they differ a bit? If so, how? *Does this only come in an extrait? I could've sworn I saw it listed as an edp somewhere..

Very nice scent. Very, very sweet rose. Was very familiar smelling and then it hit me... It is a sweeter more rose-centric version of Flowerbomb, but more unisex. Highly recommended.

It's boozy, deep, jammy delicious rose. It has serious staying power. Serious sillage....It is so rich. Stunning. I can't wear anything else right now - I am obsessed.

Usually, I do not comment on perfume twice, but with Rose Flash, I comment several times because it is simply one of the most beautiful rose perfumes.

Considering the price and the quality given this fragrance is worth the blind buy. 8,5/10 Well done Mister Tauer!

Wow, this is loud ROSE! Rose Flash really matches its name. It's rose, rose and rose, a thick scent, as if it would drip from the skin, with both the jammy and the soapy aspects of rose, but a tendency to the jammy side. It's warm and sweet and strong and heavy and smells like quality. If this was a color, it would be hot/deep pink (though not neon pink, it's not cold and shrill). I think a hot pink outfit (nothing too casual!) and Rose Flash would make a good match, or maybe a black dress and bright pink lips. Although it mellows down after a time and the woody and resinous notes are clearly there, while I tested I noticed that this is too much rose for me. I might like rose more blended with other notes and I find this just doesn't match with my looks and personality at the moment. If you love roses, you MUST try this nevertheless. You can order a set of 3 samples from the Tauerville site and the service is great. I even got a fourth sample and a hand written card with them. So nice.

It's been a long time since I've written a review, but I will do my best to describe what I have experienced with this one: First off, I am not a fan of rollerballs. I like the option of spraying on my clothes since my skin does sometimes strange, sometimes wonderful or not so and probably unique things to fragrances. It works with this one. I can't say your results will be the same. This opened very bitter on me. Crushed red rose petals with leaves and stems and a good handful of sour sorrel or lemon balmy herb. I do not get the impression of actual fruit in this citrus. This stage was something for me to suffer through for about 20 minutes before the bitterness subsided and the amber started peeking through. After a couple hours, a delicate almost salty wood grounds a sweet, amber dusted rose. This part was worth the wait. I'm still curious to see how this would behave sprayed on fabric.

Huge rose and oud notes, dripping honey (I do perceive honey even if not mentioned in the notes) and thick incense. Very arabic. The notes pyramid shows only 3 elements but this smells much more complicated than that. Multilayered, but every layer has velvety roses. I am not an Oud lover but I think this is very beautiful and wearable even if Oud is not your thing. There is nothing offensive here. This is a very smooth, deep and sensual rose. Projection and longevity are very good. At times, I can perceive a tiny chocolate note hidden between the resins/oud/roses, also sometimes it feels boozy. I think if you love roses, you should at least sample this scent.

So I purchased this is as a blind buy after searching YouTube for Rose scents. Once I got it I loved it immediately. I sprayed a bit on me to test it and went to the gym (I don’t make a habit of wear fragrances to the gym) and I was surprised after a sweaty, intense workout the scent persisted! It’s addictive to say the least. I wore this to work today and in a meeting literally everyone that walked in commented on how great it smelled. I had to admit it was a bit overwhelming receiving so many wonderful compliments all at once, so if you’re the shy type, stay away! Lol. I plan to try the Fruitchouli scent next! The longevity on this scent is amazing!

An intense blast of incense and then a balsamic note/s appear with a jammy rose and woody notes.If it stayed this way I would love it,but it doesn't,it morphs into the most realistic rose smell I've ever smelt and I still LOVE it!This perfume is so beautiful <3 I have Tauer's Incense rose which I love but that scent stays very incensy throughout, this one really surprised me I totally expected it to stay at that balsamic, strong initial blast stage throughout but was amazed at the depth of true rose you get with this layered on a resiny base.My only criticism is the longevity but the 30ml cute little bottle is easily carried around for a top up.

I'm getting some serious POAL vibes. I am testing this because it's been compared to dancing roses, but it's more PAOL to me. Has a similar minty feel to it, very oriental, spicy and balsamic, however this one is truly focussed on a rich jammy rose. Dabbed on a bit of the lady and indeed, the rose is super oomphy in Rose Flash, more muted in PAOL (which is also sweeter.) Both definitely have a rich, jammy, spicy, Queen of the rose gourmand orientals vibe. This one has a compote jam / tart drydown, which reminds me of the taif roses of the arabic perfume sphere (such as Haneen) Big respect!

The opening blast of Rose Flash seemed initially much too much for me: too sweet and too clingy. But after a few minutes the oversyrupy quality settles, and the long results afterwards are quite pleasant. This is a very resinous rose, but it's nice to have the rose without other floral notes pushing it forward. My recommendation would be if you want to use this to put this on well before you leave the house. It's very reasonably priced and attractively but simply packaged (which is the whole point of the Tauerville line).

I had this for a long time, but I do not remember formally wearing it, so I am giving it a try for the first time, and this is the kind of "perfume" (as it labeled) that you don't need much on and does a good job. It has a loud opening but it mellows down nicely, I got it after I got excited about rose base fragrances but I don't think it will be on my top shelf, but is not bad, most likely I will keep it.

This turned out to be much richer, thicker and more nuanced than I'd imagined, given the name, the aesthetic, and even the reviews. It actually feels kind of velvety to me, with a suave yet definite resinous element informing the rose. This is my first Tauer fragrance, and I'll surely try more, since this one is so interesting. It has a style all its own, and lots and lots of substance. Really very nice!
