Masculine citrus scent, lasts for hours! I bought this in a set and it is worth every cent!

Nice old school fragrance, with a marked lavender and powdery notes since the beginning. Completely masculine. I like it a lot for personal use on some the evenings / night at home, when I need a relaxed time after a shower and a long day at work. My wife likes it. It lasts on clothes more than 12 hrs, with 3-4 sprays. The aromas are nothing to blow your head off, nor is a compliment machine, BUT I find the combination of notes, very relaxing and pleasant in a very manly way. Like a serious dad in a good mood, saying OK to everything if asked nicely. I got this in a whole sale of vintage bottles, and bought it blind for about $30, and when this bottle is finished, I will try to buy it again, but only if the price is right (Less than $30). I also have (and use) old school fragrances like Ted Lapidus, J Bogart, Zino Davidoff, and other from 70s, 80s on my collection, so I don't see this Alcazar in the likes of guys of less than 35+.

Alcazar,the lost scent son of Lapidus,always overlooked,always hard to find,but why?Maybe because it is another kind of flanker of Bogart Silver Scent?Really,it is too similar,the only difference is that this one has a stronger leather accord after some hours,very masculine,and a bit more mature,but then there is too much choice in a line of scents that at the time of its release had already a flanker,and now is around six names in total!Perhaps with a different formula,it could give more,nice try but no cigar.....

Not bad, had a tester strip of this in my pocket and I couldn't keep smelling it. It does however, become a bit repulsive when oversprayed. And I personally don't think I would wear this simply because it reminds me of the dozens of construction workers that smell like this.

Opening reminds me of Nikos Sculpture , clean , citrus/ floral vibes which dries down to a nice woody leather after a while , for the price it a nice purchase , I'm well pleased , will be a lovely cheapie for work in the heat

It smells old, I get it but there are too many nicer more current fragrance’s for this one to still be relevant!

Too powdery like a spoiled detergent - smells outdated and suffocating

I added Ted Lapidus Alcazar to an order to qualify for free shipping. The order took 4 weeks to get delivered. In that time like any other fragrance enthusiast I searched the internet to get a sense of what I was in for. Turns out there is surprisingly sparse recent information on it, particularly in English. I have relied on many online reviews and now since I have this bottle; it’s only fair I contribute my two cents. So here you go. Presentation The cologne comes is an aluminum tin. Bottle is made of thick glass and the cap has good weight to it. French definitely knows how to make their colors. This is probably the most sophisticated shade of blue you will see in a product. Scent The packaging and the listed notes give a false impression that this might be a blue fragrance, it is not. Nothing like Bleu De Chanel, Dior Sauvage or Nautica Voyage. Instead in the opening I would say it is splash of citrus, lavender, green & woody (when you peel the bark of a green twig woody) and eventually you are left with dusty powdery scent (leather & tonka beans I believe) in the long haul. Performance It’s a dense fragrance. Meaning it does not project a lot but stays closer to skin for a really long time. On clothes I could smell the powdery remnants of the dry down into the next day. Audience Definitely masculine. If you are in your teens or early to mid twenties, don’t bother spending money on this. Not that you won’t like it but because I think you and your target audience may not be able to relate to the reminiscence of the time this fragrance is trying to capture. And also I think you have many more options. However, if you are someone who has adamantly decided to wear only grays, whites and khakis at this point in your life... this might fit your criteria. I am one of you; so keeping my bottle. Verdict From the first spray the fragrance evokes a nostalgia of an era lost to time. The best I can describe it is as the scent of hard working man trying to smell better for a family event and not wanting to be noticed. I think that symbolizes the good, dense and enduring character of this fragrance. All in all you aren’t missing out if you don’t have it. But if you were to add one to the cart to qualify for free shipping you won’t regret and might enjoy it from time to time.

On the contrary to some "experts" who claim that new perfumes can not exhale any smell before being used for the first time, Alcazar is another one of those fragrances that exude, as soon as their boxes are opened. Here, in this case, the tin lid, since it doesn't come into a standard carton pack, being protected by a blue oval Tin. And don't be alarmed if you recognize a familiar scent at this moment. There is a total feeling of "déjà vu" with the fragrance of Silver Scent (by Bogart). But I'll discuss that later. Alcazar opens with notes of Andalusian lemon, petitgrain and nutmeg. Then, in the heart, arise notes of Azahar flower, Rosemary and lavender. At the base, white cedar, tonka bean and leather of Cordoba. The result is another one of those powerful fragrances that bring the TL signature, with a lot of richness – when it is about spices – and quality, which brings as consequence, a mixture of seduction and safety for those who wear them. And what about that initial memory with the Silver Scent? Well, when sprayed on the skin, it almost impossible to not remember it. But almost instantly, the nutmeg emerges and takes us through different paths. I dare say that Alcazar could be sold, easily, as a flanker of Silver Scent Deep, which is also a recent release. When it comes to evolution, the Azahar flower is the big star of the central part of this composition, with the same strong and dry aspect that exists in Fleur du Male (by Gaultier), saved the proper proportions. Finally, the leather accord brings a virile and elegant sensuality. The bottle is beautiful, in shades of deep blue and a cut for its plate that helps the grip. Alcazar is a trip around the Mediterranean, which traverses castles, sands and seas. I liked it!

Alcazar starts sweet like a lot of other Lapidus frags.. almost a honeyed orange blossom, citrus, nutmeg, herbs, spice and woods. Leather soon follows. Drydown is mainly a spicy, sweet woody leather. It reminds me of eating a Mediterranean dessert (baklava maybe?) while dressed in a leather jacket... It could be said to be in the same scent family as 1 Million and PDM Pegasus. for those that are familiar with Lapidus offerings, it is similar but not as sweet as Altimir or Silver Scent. Packaging is nice, a blue metal can contains a blue glass flask with a chrome top. But dont be fooled by the blue, this has not one single resemblance to "blue" scents (like Bleu de Chanel, or Dylan Blue) as we now think of them. Alcazar is a very nice scent, you won't smell it everyday (at least not here in the US) and it does get compliments. Sillage and performance are excellent, and it lasts for hours. As with all Lapidus, price is great for what you get.

Por mo visto el de abajo está acostumbrado a oler a trabajadores de la construcción jajajajaja. Además ha olido a docenas. Vaya manera de discriminar a los trabajadores de la construcción y al perfume. A saber para donde le habra puesto mirando más de un trabajador de la construcción, seguro que le soplaba en la nuca. It is a twin brother of Cigar Blue Label by Latour. Can't imagine where to wear it. The bottle is nice, the metal box is great but the smell...oh, brother. It is awfully strong and smells chemical grapes actually, no citrus. Don't blind buy it, never!
