Encore

This is so lovely, very soft, sweet and powdery. I was sure I smelled pear while testing it, after I looked at the notes I realised it’s peach. The beginning is a little rough and intensive for a second but as it dries down I can smell carrots, more like carrot cake but not like heavy gourmand but more like juicy. After that the pear (obviously peaches but to my nose it’s pears) and then at the finish really lovely powdery and sweet iris. It’s so well blended. But I don’t think it’s a safe blind buy blind buy because you really have to like very sweet perfumes to like this one. And I wouldn’t call it a gourmand more fruity floral.

I really like it, it’s fresh and comforting, probably my favourite from the sample set. I think I really enjoy the carrot seed for me it’s my first with this ingredient. It’s not ground breaking but it can be for me an easy reach in spring. Last on my skin around 6h, but definitely stick to my clothes 12h+.

Encore opens quite earthy from the carrot note (definitely more carrot seed, there's nothing cake-like about the opening). It starts off very unisex, but becomes a little more feminine as it develops on the skin. A soft and powdery note emerges with a hint of sweetness, a mix of iris and milky sandalwood with a bare touch of vanilla. I found the vanilla note needs milder weather to blossom, because when I tried this in winter I didn't get any vanilla at all. Very casual, easy going scent that would be good for every day. Definitely a "white T-shirt" kind of vibe. Sadly the staying power is pretty average on me, and it has almost no projection. It's a skin scent, so good if you work somewhere where loud scents are not welcome. Encore reminds me a lot of Santal Du Pacifique from Perris Monte Carlo with that carrot and iris combo. While lovely, it's not on the wish list mainly due to the performance and that I have a few iris scents I like more (such as Bois d'Iris.)

I own two Teo Cabanel fragrances (Oh La La and Je Ne Sais Quoi), and enjoyed many others from their lineup, so I was very excited to try Encore when I saw it announced. The notes seemed to be right up my alley. The first thing I get from Encore is a punch of powdery iris/orris, which might turn off some people. That phase goes out quickly and then the "creamy carrot cake" idea/accord comes in. Not sure how much I'm influenced by the marketing photos but I do really get the carrot-y dough and the cream cheese icing. I love carrot cake and I found myself salivating when it kicked in -- it is very realistic IMO. To my nose, there's sweetness for sure, along with a very light spiceness and milkness. I can't smell the peach at all. At the dry-down, I get the sandalwood. For now, I've been wearing Encore before bed and it's a great comforting, "chill" kind of scent designed for those who like light gourmands.

The most beautiful part of this perfume is the chai latte (or masala), milky and spicy, quite persistent for the top accord, it stays on me for at least two hours. And then there is the wonderful orris/carrot, at first it's like a sweet soft boiled carrot, and after a while you can smell the wonderful fresh carrots with earthy notes. We had the opportunity to smell the chords on the launch party, and there honestly was a smell the freshness of a real vegetable with little pinches of earthy scent, it's so original and beautiful! The base is made of milky sandalwood accords. When the chai latte disappears, a rather spicy and very noticeable sandalwood comes to play a first role. The transition between the chai and sandalwood is really smooth and elegant. I thought it would be more gourmand, but it's not sweet at all. It lasts on my cold skin for 4-5 hours, which is more than enough.

Teo Cabanel Discovery Kit 9/14 Encore | My second favorite from the Teo Cabanel line-up. It's hard for my plebeian nose to tease apart the carrot seeds and iris, since they're both powdery notes. But it has a gently sweet, "make-up compact" scent initially. The fuzzy peach comes through a little later for me before landing on a generally crowd-pleasing sandalwood. The peach isn't as stringent and tart as other people have said. It's relatively subtle, and I enjoy the scent overall! For what it's worth, I don't think it's carroty, carrot-cakey, or gourmand at all. On TB's site, Chai Latte accord is listed in the heart. After discussing it with the BF, we both agreed there's a small spice element, but it's not like a creamy latte nor a baked good. If anything, it connects the dots between the powdery carrot seed/iris to the sandalwood.

I do love powdery woody scents in the autumn. On paper, Encore fits the bill. On its own it was powerful, but not entirely balanced. The carrot spices being rather savoury paired with iris, the overall effect is a powdery savoury gourmand which doesn't exactly qualify as pleasant. However, on my last wear of the sample I layered it with Je ne sais quoi from the same house which amped up the base with its nutty rice note, pushing Encore well and beyond. Strange thing is, neither of these fragrances are overly appealing on their own, but together the effect was transformative: sweeter and a lot deeper. Decent sillage and longevity of 4-5 hours.

This opens with some sweet earthy carrot in the opening mixed with the smell of peach skin. It’s very prominently fuzzy peach skins vs the actual flesh of the fruit as it’s not juicy or rich. The heart brings out a strong iris note that’s creamy and earthy with a freshly clean musk surrounding it. Dry down is a slightly sweet sandalwood with a clean iris and remnants of that earthy carrot. Very enjoyable scent

This is a cozy gourmand that avoids being cloying. The combination of iris and carrot seeds creates a creamy, powdery texture that feels comforting and intellectual, almost reminiscent of a refined carrot cake. Most prominent notes on my skin: iris, carrot seeds, and sandalwood. Smells Like: Cashmere blankets, old books, and the savory sweetness of a carrot cake enjoyed in a sunlit kitchen.

Oh that’s just peachy! I’m looking for a carrot fragrance as a replacement for I Love Les Carottes and all I get here are... peaches? At first very authentic and fresh, then smothered a little under the powdery iris but still very pretty. I’m getting my Dolce Vita era flashbacks.

I'm an iris lover, and this is that. The carrot seed note is really just a bit woody-powdery that blends in with the iris. I don't get much fruit. It feels like a simple, powdery/make-up-y scent with a touch of spice. Likable and wearable!

Sweet but not lactonic or gourmand. It definitely has a kick of warm spice that's a bit cinnamon-like. Very warm, pretty, and unisex. I may try layering this with a basic vanilla and see if I can get more of the "carrot cake" feel to it.

Slighly nutty, powdery - sits close to skin and is very pleasant. I smell a lot of the sandalwood which adds some depth and spice to it. Very soft They definitely create very good nutty scents which also smell wearable

I agree with reviewers saying that this doesn't smell like carrot cake. Carrot seeds, yes - but cake? Not really. There's definitely a soft, lactonic note at the heart of this fragrance, and it's got the clean undertone which I come to recognise in most of the recent Teo Cabanel smells, but as this dries down it gets a bit too spicy for me - a sharp, cumin-y note. Not a bad note, but just not really for me. Glad I tried this, I would say it's worth a sniff (I think all the Teo Cabanel smells are!), but I won't be buying a bottle of this one.

This is definitely a gourmand fragrance to me, but more of a savory gourmand. Smells a bit like potato salad, but in the best possible way lol. The wafts I get in the air is a really nice carrot seed with a little sweetness. Not FB worthy for me though. Also nothing at all like Lost Alice, I own and love that one!

I was excited to try this after hearing there were carrot cake & latte notes but it’s not doing much for me. The carrot seeds give off an odd scent but beneath that I do get some nice peach, iris, and lactonic notes. It becomes more tolerable to my nose as it dries down and some of the vanilla comes forward.

Pretty much just carrot seed until it’s fully dried down, where it becomes musky sandalwood. There is a short moment of the promised carrot cake for me, just before the base note dry down. I wouldn’t buy the full bottle, but if a unique earthy carrot scent appeals it’s a pretty interesting fragrance!

Peach can be a tricky note but it is done well here. The opening is prominent photo realistic fuzzy peach. This fades into powdery musk. There is a sharpness in the opening more reminiscent of white florals than the iris featured.

one situation where fragrantica's mismatched description is more accurate then the official chai latte / carrot cake copy. wish i got the latter bc that sounds delicious, but i just get shredded carrot and orris

I love iris, but I detect absolutely none in this fragrance. It's more of a peach bomb with some spices and sandalwood in the background. And the peach isn't pleasant, it's more... squeaky. If that makes sense. Given the notes, I thought I'd love this, but it's a huge disappointment. Please don't blind buy; grab the brand's sample set.

It was my second favourite from the sample kit. The first spicy sniff is amazing, then immediately settles into iris, quite nice. Then it disappears. Within one hour, so sad.

This was the only one in the collection that I didn't like at all. It's a very strong powdery iris/violet, almost harsh to my nose. And that's all I can detect, no other notes at all..

any peach perfume just smells like shampoo to me. and ive never had a peach scented shampoo in my life. sadly, shampoo peach is mainly what i get and a bit of powder. i must compliment their restraint on overdosing ambroxan because it doesnt bother me at all here (no screechiness and no 'perfume store' scent). I mean, thats about it. the carrot seed is just textural and makes the shampoo more powdery but not much else. the iris is also textural and i find this note to be portrayed much better in oh la la (one of the best things ive ever smelled). i dont really get much more than peach and shampoo. i gave this sample to a friend who loves peach scents and she said its too heavy and powdery. weird. my nose is more fond of powderiness and ionones which makes peach stand out too much, while hers prefers peach which makes the powderiness stand out. SO idk who i would recommend this to edit: Just found out this is supposed to be a carrot cake fragrance. what were they thinking... no cakiness no carrot no cinnamon no warmth no sweetness just peach and musk... like what?

Teo Cabanel Encore is not a gourmand, but is more of an iris scent from the carrot note. Not a carrot cake or an overt chai latte as marketed, which I sort of expected from reviews, but still unnecessary for the brand to do since fresher scents are still desired by some people lol. It's a clean carrot seed, earthy signature/everyday kind of scent. Clean musky, powdery, and woody, but not so bright and soapy powdery like The Harmonist Royal Earth. At first, the peach isn't really detectable unless the skin of it was only used and very diluted, adding a watery fruity touch to this so it isn't so powdery. Carrot seeds also have this fresh thing to them imo. Later the carrot seeds dries to this old woody thing that's balanced with a slightly sweetened peach milk tea vibe. Encore is clean and for those who want an unoffensive whisper of a scent for most seasons and everyday. Lasts 2-3 hours on me.

It's giving toddler who just ate Kraft macaroni. Anyone who's hung out with little kids knows that milky, noodle-y smell. Something about the peach, powdery, and milky notes together, I guess. From afar I almost like it, the peach is more dominant. But up close it makes me feel like I've been babysitting and need a shower. I am not into savoury gourmands because they remind me of a certain dish I do not want to go around smelling like. If you're into them, however, Sincere by Contradictions in ILK is quite nice and also has peach while being savoury. This perfume has decent projection and longevity unlike others in the TC discovery set I tried.

This won’t be consistent with listed notes, but I get Blanche Bete by Liquide Imaginaire with lots of iris and carrot seeds. It’s beautiful. Very soft, feminine and wearable in any situation. For me, it’s too similar to BB and the several iris fragrances I have. I love it, though.

i hoped that with encore i would finally have found the rooty, spicy, lactonic gourmand scent of my dreams. i didn’t. the peach note is so overpowering and persistent - tart, fruity, and spiky - that i couldn’t pick up on virtually any of the other notes. NOT for me.

Similarly to JulietAP I also was bothered by this turning rather sour on my skin which I don't enjoy. I believe it's a combination of peach/carrot seeds/sandalwood where I was hoping for more iris/musk. A pleasant fragrance, but for someone else.

Man I was almost really liking this one as I can pick up slightly on some of the notes that drew me in like the carrot seeds and a creamy accord likely from some of those base notes but that PEACH - it's giving way too much cheek...persistently.

What I smell here is iris and violet ( not listed) on sweet, milky sandalwood base. Non-offensive, but also unmemorable. Will satisfy someone who is not a conneseur, but likes smelling just pleasant.

This smells sour. Like rotten curdled sour milk. I think if my nose is correct that it’s the peach turning this fragrance. On paper I love every other note together. So disappointed.

As an iris lover I dont get a lot of iris in this. Dry down on my skin gives a strong cardamom note similar to the dry down in liam grey by lattafa or gris charnel.

I thought it had a strange sour smell that wouldnt go away. Probably the carrot seed? Could've just been the ambroxan which is always very loud on me.

Milky sandalwood version of Blanche Bête with creamy peach, the carrot seeds add a a touch of earthiness. Milky, cozy, creamy.
