Délectation Splendide

Gosh it is indeed a delicious oriental/gourmand. Spicy plum with lots of sweetness from the Tonka bean. The opening made it very clear that it was most definitely unisex. Nothing girly here. It does indeed have sweetness but it's the potent cinnamon, plum and tobacco that hold court. A strong potent juice that doesn't overtly smell like a sickly sweet gourmand even with praline being listed. I love Givenchy Indecense and this is far more cinammony and more plummy. They are different enough to own both. I'm so glad it's not as sweet as Grand Soir. The ginger, lemon and pepper add an edge stopping this scent becoming too heavy and cloying. It doesn't develop that much. The ginger and lemon wain a bit as you would expect and it becomes a little more resinous. One for cool weather wear. It has good sillage in this 18 degree room. The longevity is well over average. I might actually finally go fb on a Terry Ginsburg creation.

Had to add a follow up: If you like your fragrances to be sweet, a touch festive, and perhaps a tad gourmand, then this is an amazing addition to your collection. Long lasting and intense in nature, this is a great fragrance for both guys and gals. Original retail price is way too high, but if you can get this beauty for around the £50-£60 mark for 100ml, then you have yourself a bargain. The bottle is very heavy and looks fantastic with its minimalist curved lines, silver badge and lid, whilst the deep purple juice simply looks beautiful. I have tried several other fragrances from Terry de Gunzburg and haven't been overly impressed, but Délectation Splendide is something different. I have just ordered Terryfic Oud as a blind purchase, and will probably make a review in a few weeks.

My first impression fresh from the last 5 minutes. OMG it is awesome!! I rarely fall in love immediately with a scent but this is RICH, in all the best ways. I right now feel it is a scent that includes everything, universe. Light and darkness, softness and power. I ADORE the smokeyness, which I had no idea I would (it actually didn't sound that hot to me but I counted on the other notes). It reminds me of a warm and cozy fireplace at winter, mixed with all that yummy syrapy sweetness that never goes too sweet (at least not for a sweet tooth like myself). I can't wait to face my man wearing this a festive deep fall evening. This is not an everyday scent, I almost am in awe, it is for special occasions I feel right now, sacred almost. So special. So excited about this one!

Il est gourmand, épicé et sucrée à la fois (mais pas le sucre pour adolescente) et très bien équilibrée. Ce parfum est un délice, raffinée sans avoir ce côté too much et je me vois bien le porter le soir pour un diner, à un rendez-vous galant ou à une soirée classe avec des talons. Edit: Very similar to Ambre Eccentrico Armani Privé. Now I have both, to me it is more sweeter ( @sushkin is right: not candy sweet for teenagers), richer and more gourmand. It is spicy, well blended and refined scent. It s very well executed. You can wear it for festive event, date or very special occasion with heels. It is perfect Chrismas perfume !

Only just bought this so not able to fully review yet. However, first impression is a HUGE love from me. Sensual, smooth, calming, sweet, with a slight church-like spiciness. I'm a guy who wears any fragrance that takes my fancy and so have worn perfumes targeted toward women, and yet this is definitely unisex to my untrained nose.

It is a gourmand fragrance which makes me want to eat it. The praline and rose stand out the most while tonka and vanilla enhance its warmth and deliciousness.

This is now discontinued. What a shame.

On me it is dripping honey aroma thorough the whole development of the scent. It is a lead aroma. It has spicy facets and woody background that with time move it to a more masculine side. There is also some warmth there with tonka and benzoin. The scent is quite intense and long lasting.

Very intriguing combination of notes. But as for me, I think that it more suitable for men. Too dry and bitter. But good cherrish taste tabacco with almond and plum like jam.

The opening and middle notes are really good, sweet, fruity and fresh, but the dry down is too masculine for my taste, like a man’s cologne. This stage is VERY long lasting.

Délectation Splendide is a fragrant explosion of tobacco, cinnamon and tonka bean. It is undeniably decadent and perfect for autumn/winter because it is a very comforting scent. The aroma is reminiscent of Grand Soir by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, albeit a tad tamer. On my skin, the opening is very powerful and aromatic but died down rather quickly. Overall, it is a lovely fragrance but it was a shame that it didn't last long on my skin.

Indeed, this is a delectable, deep and rich, spicy plum scent. Just a few sprays, and you will be enveloped in the most delicious scent negligee wherever you walk, wafting all around you. Absolutely stunning juice. Very sad it's discontinued!!

Wow reminds me of Gucci eau de parfum (2002) the dark brown liquid in the squat square bottle. But in addition with cinamon pastry vibe. Powerful sillage and strength.

No words to say . This fragrance is just perfect ! In my opinion this goes as an unisex. Longevivity 4.5/5 , projection 4.5/5.
