Reve Opulent

Reve opulent is a strange perfume. The top notes are indeed very plummy, jammy, almost boozy. But after that, I get distinct greens and woods. I keep thinking maybe cedar, patchouli or wormwood? I do smell cinnamon but it is extremely faint. Same with rose, it's quite prominent if you go looking for it but doesn't jump out at you. And the white florals are there too. It's incredibly well blended. It is a powerhouse scent with amazing longevity It's definitely opulent, yummy. It reminds me of going to a black tie event, but by the beach. ( Thanks in part to white and yellow florals) It's for partying up in Gold Coast at sunset. Not schoolies, but for an older crowd whose are taking the limo to a yacht party. The perfume is a sunset pink and orange, slightly warm. Peach bellinis galore. I love it!

Reve Opulent by Terry de Gunzburg smells like fuzzy yellow peaches and rich gardenia blooms on humid summer days. The jasmine likes to sneak its way in as you get hints of orange blossom and plum. I picture a woman wearing a modest one piece swimsuit with a long seer swim cover up, dark sun glasses, a big straw hat, and chunky jewelry. She is playing cards alone in her sun room with the door open beside her gardenia plants. It’s humid and she can hear the locust buzzing as she looks at the condensation of water droplets rolling down her glass of peach iced tea. Finally a breeze blows through and she can smell her gardenia plants and peach tea along with the jar of sunscreen she left open on the table by the door. We’ve Only Just Begun by the Carpenters plays on the radio.

Springtime fragrance! High and fresh perfume with white flowers. Not too high, not too green. Soft and easy, friendly. Not arguing or debating of feminism. It just is feminine. Daytime in city. Maybe boring to someone, I think not. I'm not so often interested in contents, how the fragrance is built, greated. It's interesting, however how it works on me is the point. How it works on You! We are different fysically and our mental needs are variable. And Rêve Opulent is nice on me. For the usual days we live mostly. It's lifting up my day!

How beautiful ! I love gardenia scents - they are rich, dense and opulent usually, a bit of a challenge. This gardenia is in the - "lovely even for the fainthearted" - cathegory. The flowers are a mix that tames the gardenia from being too "big". You can detect a sweet fresh rose, jasmin, ylang and especially fruits - plums, peaches and mandarin that lift the flowers up and give them a playful edge. I love how sweet and soft the base is - vanilla, musk, again ylang. Lovely. I wish a bottle of this for myself.

Very fresh and clean a bit fruity gardenia, it’s very similar to Chanel’s Gardenia that I love very much. So this one is not new but it’s definitely a pretty scent. Very feminine and good compliment getter and crowd pleaser.

Love this! Fuzzy peaches, yellow floral, soft Gardenia, soft rose, with a little warm vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. Smells very unique to me. I smell soft musk as well. Very lovely!

This is a very lovely but a way too faint a fragrance. It needs the same notes but with more strength. As it is now, its like dew of gardenia and frangipani (not listed in the notes but has an impression of) - it is tropical white flowers but a skin scent of them, faint impressions. I love the notes otherwise, this is the kind of true Hawaii paradise scent, thinking Waipio valley, walking around in a sarong and a lei, the sound of birds and plants moist with sea air, I like to surround myself in - it just needs to pack a lot more punch. I just decanted a - perhaps 1950s?- Jean Patou Eau de Cologne and it has a lot stronger concentration at an edg strength compared to what is sold as an edp for Reve Opulent. They don’t make ‘em like they used to anymore.

I like this Reve Opulent very much, even if it smells more like Reve de Primtemps. I suggest you try this if you like soft ethereal white florals with some ooomph factor. Gardenia is quite noticeable and it reminds me of Amarige 3-steps above, but Amarige is a feminine beast, while Reve Opulent is much more subtle. The initial blast is glorious white floral, then I smell ylang-ylang, then... barely there for a while, then ooomph again! The first hour is a flower heaven. It's longlasting but not so projecting. I think it's a very elegant and delicate scent, not in your face, but lovely if you want your perfume to leave an aura around you rather than a trail of perfume. It's expensive for what you get, still a lovely one.

Mild and fresh to me. Musky and a airy wiff of flowernotes. I also smell a mild airy powdery note. Very nice for office, almost skinclose. Shortlived on my skin -not worth the cost at a store but it is a nice gift or if you find it on ebay to a low cost. Mild och fräsch i mitt tycke. Muskig och luftiga blomnoter. Jag hittar även en luftig lätt pudernot. Perfekt för kontoret då den är relativt hudnära. Kortlivad på mig - inte värd att köpa på butik, men det är en fin gåva eller om du hittar den på tradera/ebay - då är den väl värd pengarna.

it starts off soft powdery rose then quickly turns into aggressive Ylang Ylang with its distinctive sweet velvet smell. I actually prefer more rose, jasmine and gardenia. but I often find ylang ylang overpowering.

This is a pretty floral. A bit sweeter than I like. But my partner noticed as I walked by right after I sprayed it lavishly and said that it smells good.

Reve opulent smells like sweet white flowers, not necessarily gardenia, it's a whole bunch of lush tropical white flowers with loads of vanilla , enough to remind me of candy floss. I love gardenia and it's such a same to mix it with more flowers and tons of syrupy notes.. I wish I could find a soliflore gardenia.. The search will go on.. I decline on smelling like pastry!

Rich jasmine, gardenia and musk fragrance. It is very fruity on first spray but that fruit evaporates quickly into fruity synthetics, while gardenia and jasmine hold on longer bolstered by white musk. This started out so appealingly, shucks. 6/10

On me, the lasting power is abysmal which is a horrible shame because this scent is one of my favorites, ever! I already went through my bottle (like water) but I'm eager to find another fragrance that smells like this but with better projection, something that lasts and lasts. The white florals in this are sweet and pretty, the cinnamon vanilla is spicy and warm and the white peach is the BEST white peach (seriously, it smells sooo much more unique than the usual nectarines) I've ever smelled in a perfume. How they managed to make something so beautiful but so weak is an absolute shame because this is one of those scents I can see as my signature, never-buy-anything-else perfume. Gentle, feminine, sparkly, sweet and just a love at first sniff kind of fragrance. SUCH a shame about the longevity.

If this were the photo finish of a horse race, it would go something like this, plum wins over vanilla custard by a whisker, closely followed by Rose and orange blossom and a scattering of white flowers. Nothing offensive, but not exactly a symphony. There is, on the drydown, something vaguely upsetting, nay disasterous about this, which had me sniffing around the house thinking I'd left the gas on. I hadn't. It's the perfume. A slight after whiff of sulphurous garlic and onions. Revision: Just bought a Barratt house - the air freshener plug ins they use in new houses and showhouses smells exactly like this. Very fancy. Very fancy indeed. Where can I get those air fresheners? Answers on a postcard please.

Majesty, if you like gardenia, try Versace's Crystal Noir, surprisingly enough, it's thzir best perfume, classy, not vulgar or cheap at all, a nice fresh-spicy gardenia, opens with some cool orange blossom- ginger notes than pepper and cardamome over a very rich gardenia blending over some creamy but not sugary coconut and sandalwood notes, try it! ;)

Kate Middleton supposedly wears this. I wish Fragrantica would mention the notes. According to some reviewer on Makeupalley they are: Notes: mandarin, plum, peach, jasmine, gardenia, rose; musk, vanilla. According to Basenotes they are: Gardenia, Egyptian Jasmine, Sambac Jasmine, Rose Absolute, Orange Blossom, Ylang-Ylang, Sri Lankan Cinnamon. Ok...

This is a beautiful scent, but for the price maybe overrated, as the longevity isn't best. Still, a beautiful gardenia scent, refined, high quality , if I found it at a better price, I would get it. It doesn't develop much, it stays pretty linear, still a nice creation by Terry de Gunzburg.

A mix of white flowers, especially gardenia, with fruits and some vanilla. It's a pleasant smell overall but not very interesting for it's price tag. For Majesty, the best gardenia soliflore is Panouge Isabey - Gardenia.

generic scent but comforting fruity floral, very easy to love, very safe and pleasant scent, bit expensive and average 4 hours longevity, by the way, it get compliments, if money not your concern, so grab it

Gardenia lite, with a touch of fruitiness and ylang. Unfortunately, I don't sense any rose and its presence would have added just what this needs to round it out.

Generic to my nose. I wish I got more of a gardenia/jasmine vibe from this. Expensive and disappointing blind buy. Reminds me a little bit of Blumarine Bellisima.

Rich,heady mix of gardenia and jasmine in equal amounts. No fruit notes on my skin. A well executed white floral for hardcore white floral lovers.

Sweet gardenia, does not develop much, but its nice.
