Aegyptus

Been turned off for ages by the striking uglyness of the bottle so never even dared to try it (what a mistake)... until I recently got it as a present. OMG! It's great! So pleasant and peculiar... it smells of.. not really sure how to define it.. the closest i can think of is -a bit of an oxymoron- "fresh spices". Opens a bit green and earthy like some sort of aromatic leaves..i imagine it as papyrus leaves soaked in the lime of the Nile... and then i smell the incense, mhyrr and other mixed spices. It's unique to me. The sillage is fine, could be better though..4-5 hours. The good thing is that the bottle is so light you can carry it in ur bag and reapply anytime. I guess this is by far my favourite Tesori... therefore the lesson is: don't judge a scent by its bottle! :P

a very good one. on me lasts ages. i love love love it! Edit: after one year of using it constantly, it became one of my most loved fragrances. Reasons: 1. It is very, very unique, almost hard to describe 2. It can be worn all year around, changing "shape" each season 3. For the nice compliments I get :) 4. Longevity: days... 5. Sooo affordable. I can get this in my country for 3-4 euros! Obviously I had to stock up and buy backups. I also got shower cream, body butter and candle!!! It won the gold medal in my list of hidden gems in terms of fragrances...

Aegyptus was love at first whiff. This scent is a wonderfully affordable choice to gently brighten up the everydays. The perfume has a clean and delightfully fresh aura: the powdery notes with a hint of jasmine and rose stay for a long time on the skin or clothes. It's a scent that reminds me of fresh linen, which scent atmosphere is forever a favorite of mine. It's not too overpowering, it's soft and perfect for any occasion. I'm looking forward to testing more Tesori d'Oriente fragrances.

Interesting scent. Resembles "arabic" perfumes. I would say that it's more masculine than feminine, but it would work as good on a woman. It's sweet and ful of spices, but it also has some unexpected soapy freshness to it. It is also is quite strong. There are more notes in the composition that are not listed here on fragrantica. I haven't encounter such fragrance among almost all high end scent for man. So it's defenitely something diffrent. I highly recommend it.

I love this smell very much, but i prefer to enjoy it in the air, thats why i only spray it on my bed. I love it a little less if i have to wear it. Also it's strong but wouldn't really last on the skin.. max 2 hours id say. I agree with the general description people have given of it. Spicy oriental yet soapy at the base. Very oriental, unique, present and pleasant 😊

I tesori d'oriente non producono più questa fragranza che a mio avviso era la più interessante! Molto speziato e caldo, un profumo unisex adatto all'inverno! è stato sostituito con una nuova versione di aegyptus in una confezione blu, che però non centra proprio nulla con questa in confezione dorata!

Musk, powder, gentle spice, some fruitiness. Honestly everything I’ve ever wanted from a fragrance. I am loving it!

For some reason this smells fresh or aquatic on me. Great for a man, for it's price. I love it

It's probably time to review this scent after 2 years... This was my second fragrance from TDo.I got it during when summer was transitioning into fall and the climate was throwing on both hot and breezy and humid at certain moments. I decided to give this one a review now because of another compliment I got when I reapplied this and a coworker entered the room and exclaimed "wow that smells so good!Do you have a new air freshener?".I laughed my ass off and told him it was my perfume.After almost a year of not wearing this cheapie,it felt nice to get a compliment on a simple and wearable perfume. Scent:It starts of with a floral,creamy and spicy blast then for a few moments to where it dries down a bit,the spiciness turns a bit prominent(and a little pungent to be honest) and then dries down to a little sweetness and creaminess.I only can detect the powderiness if I stuck my nose close to my wrist.And the whiffs you get in the air when you walk by is just lovely and comforting and inoffensive. My only problem with this is that,at times it turns a bit salty on my skin at certain temperatures and I would recommend this to be worn during the winter or best,a cold summer evening. Longevity is long lasting for me about 8-10 hours tops and more on clothes and sillage is about moderate.

Very powdery, warm and spicy. Smells fresh, a bit like soap, but I personally enjoy that. Goes floral after sitting on the skin for a while, which smells wonderful with the spicy overtones. I can smell it on my skin for a really long time, as if my nose doesn't get used to it, but I don't get a headache from it, which is a huge bonus. Usually if I can smell a perfume on myself for longer than a few minutes, that means it's not for me, but here I can just enjoy the smell for longer, without suffering lol. It also lasts a fair amount of time, especially for an EDT. I don't feel the need to reapply it during a typical 8h workday, though it's weak by the end of that time. It feels awfully feminine for a unisex scent, though. I don't mind wearing women's perfume, but I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed by this. A friend said it smells like spicy vanilla, which feels pretty accurate. I also have the shower gel in this scent and it's incredibly similar, so it's great to pair together with the fragrance for a long-lasting experience. I really enjoy listening to Egypt by Kate Bush as I wear this, Aegyptus smells like that song to me. I'll definitely be buying more scents from this brand, it's so cheap and the fragrances are so interesting.

It's not that the new blue bottle is a reformulation, it is actually, that the fragrance is completely a new one. On the golden bottle it says "Kyfi" or maybe "Kyli Essence", while on the blue bottle it says "Giglio blu del Nilo", which means "Nile's blue lily". Now, about my opinion. I have absolutely loved the old version of the fragrance, it was so sweet and heavy and spicy. It smelled amazing, rich and was very long lasting. My mom bought me this new blue bottle, because she knows I love the line and, not living in Italy anymore, she keeps blind-buying me bottles, which are always so unexpensive. This scent is a powdery feast with some slight deodorant (think about Dove's cream anti perspirant) quality. It smells like oriental, spicy, woody baby powder. I do think this perfume is quite retro smelling and I like the composition very much. The sillage is moderate, but I personally wouldn't use more that three sprays. It is long lasting indeed (about 10-12hrs on me). I would use it during fall and winter or during the evening.

Previous "dislike" became "quite like". Mysteries of nose and chemistry... I found it on offer at 2.90 euro in a CAD's store. The bottle is different. It's now blue. Again I was attracted by a kitsch bottle and wanted to smell Egypt... No Egypt came out, but this time I liked it enough to have it. It smells quite fresh in the opening but it soon turns to the mix of spices clichè, only very tamed compared to big oriental, but mellow and not harsh. It soon loses its sillage and projection but it's longlasting on skin, at least 3 hours in a faint way. I noticed that these perfumes from Tesori d'Oriente can smell annoying even if diluted and faint, but right now Aegyptus smells nice of me. I must have had a good sunny day. I'll try tomorrow. Not a perfume that my picky bf can appreciate, but it's fun for me. Edit: by bf said it smells like a wannabe diluted Guerlain L'Instant.

Kind of unconventional scent. I smell a powdery floral scent, however it has a spicy character. On top of that one can smell some green and citrus elements during the opening which later stay on the background. What one is left with is a spicy musky powdery scent after some time. It reminds me of a room spray - refreshener. Blue tones, musk, nearly no warmth. The scent gives off a strange, lifeless impression on me. I find it quite interesting as I think I should not be smelling like that scent, however I like it just because of that. It is a scent I have surely smelled somewhere out there. I get memories of hair sun protection spray, luxury hotel reception smell, bespoke clothing atelier. That s what I find interesting, I think that this is what an object should smell like, not a person. 4.5€ for a inoffensive, unisex scent is never wrong as a blind buy. I recommend it.

Opposite experience as the previous reviewer! I was initially attracted by the kitsch bottle and when I tested the perfume expecting for... mmm, Egypt coming out from spray?!? Well, no way! This was a real stinker in my book, because it's absolutely acrid and nauseous on my skin chemistry! Notes are not listed specifically and Kyfi... well, come on! Kyfi was a secret and sacred scent of the past now gone! It makes me more or less like L'Occitane Eau d'Iparie, which also smells terrible and acrid on my skin. Apparently I have a problem with incense. A friend of mine was crazy about Aegyptus and it smelled much better on her! Still quite cheap drugstore, but a lot better than on me!

Taken by a compulsive shopping spree, I emptied the Treasures of the East sector. Having snubbed and / or underestimated it for years and years, despite having appreciated its olfactory performance on several occasions. After reading all the reviews here on Fragrantica I decided to test and live these cheap fragrances, very synthetic but still pleasant, if I don't want to I will spray them in the rooms... Aegyptus by Tesori d'Oriente is a fresh fragrance with a majestic olfactory pyramid. Notes harmoniously follow each other: amber, boises, hesperidate, floral, fruity, spicy, forming a magical oriental blend. Interesting.

There are perfumes that cost hundreds of euros and that do not make you think of anything, they do not communicate anything to you. Then there are those scents of a few tens of euro that make you do absurd trips. Aegyptus is one of these. I feel the lotus, the oriental notes and I am already catapulted to the court of a majestic and charming Egyptian queen. The bottle immediately suggests the yellow, which is no accident: Sand, desert, heat, gold. Aegyptus is the best Egyptologist there is, the best guide for those who love traveling in time, an open book with mystical rituals. Yes: It's a dead-resurrecter! GREAT!

I had a 3 ml sample of this fragrance this summer. My first approach was more than unpleasant. I sprayed it generously on the inside of my both elbows and felt mosquito repellent spray ;( My next try was more precautious. With a smaller dose of a scent I could realise that the mosquito-spray phase fades away in 10 or 15 minutes. Then the scent got really nice, more resin, myrrh, than spicy on me. It was lovely to me during 30 Celsius degree temperatures ;) I don't know if it is better or worse during cold weather, as I used all the sample before September.

L'ho comprato venti anni fa appena arrivato sul mercato. Era diverso da quello che c'è adesso,ed era diverso anche il bouquet. Quello che ho io era insolito e molto buono,un po' frizzante e sensuale,e con incenso,menta ,caprifoglio,mirra ... Niente da invidiare alla nicchia. Se gli cambiassero boccetta e lo facessero costare 150 euro sarebbe apprezzato e amato. Invece costa poco e allora lo sentono sintetico ...

Well, well, well... what a nice surprise! This is rather creamy. Sweet and somewhat fresh at once, if it makes any sense. :) I'll get back to you with regard to longevity, whereas sillage seems moderate. I wonder what the note pyramid is. I definitely smell vanilla and opoponax in it. I'd be curious to know what you think the main notes are. Thumbs up for this ridiculously affordable frag.
