Ikigai

Smells like a pavlova cake with syrupy cherries and light florals. It’s bright and sweet and uplifting, puts you in a good mood, it also reminds me of sweet by Lolita Lempicka. The persistence and sillage are not as great as I’m used to when it comes to Tesori d’Oriente. It is lovely though.

Incredibly good for the low price, I’m really surprised, truly. You get a heavy cherry blossom either way jasmine vanilla and amber, smells incredibly clean and original. I really recommend it if you want to smell good for a bargain.

To me this smells like fresher version La Belle by Jean Paul Gaultier.

As a Japanese admirer of Tesori d’Oriente, I simply couldn’t resist trying this one. The word “Ikigai” carries a deeply philosophical meaning — it refers to one’s reason for being, or what gives life purpose. Seeing such a profound word printed on a soft, powder-pink bottle felt oddly dissonant to me at first. Yet, that very mismatch was what drew me in. I was curious to see how an Italian brand would interpret a concept that feels so intimately Japanese. When it finally arrived and I sprayed it, half-skeptical but intrigued, the answer came softly. It seemed that this fragrance was not meant to represent Ikigai itself, but rather the image of someone who could become another’s Ikigai — gentle, tender, and delicately feminine. Not the meaning of Ikigai itself, but the fragrance of someone who gives meaning to life. The scent is tender and airy, sweetly powdery — like a spring morning when the mountains blush with cherry blossoms and mist. I sense peach and sakura most vividly, followed by jasmine. As for the “Rice Water” note, I find it rather abstract. I often wash rice myself, and this doesn’t smell like that exact aroma — yet it adds a soft, milky, powdery texture that suits the pale pink impression beautifully. Is it “Japanese” in scent? I would say yes, though not in a traditional sense. It doesn’t evoke incense or tatami, but it gracefully captures the gentleness and femininity often associated with Japanese women. This isn’t my usual style of fragrance, yet I find it beautifully done — serene, comforting, and quietly captivating.

Caught up in a fit of compulsive shopping, I emptied the Tesori D'Oriente sector. Having snubbed and/or underestimated it for years and years, despite having appreciated its olfactory performance on several occasions. After reading all the reviews here on Fragrantica I decided to test and experience these cheap fragrances, very synthetic but still pleasant, at worst I will spray them in the rooms... Ikigai by Tesori d'Oriente is a fresh fragrance with an olfactory pyramid that evokes evocative Japanese atmospheres, a floral hymn of delicate evanescence, fresh citrus notes of bergamot harmoniously follow each other, fused with notes juicy peach and the superb whiteness of the wonderful cherry blossoms that give its name to this poetic symphony, the heart opens onto multiple floral scenarios. The base is all framed by sweet vanilla notes steeped in woody and amber notes, forming a magical delicate blend.

very sweet and pink. I smell something fruity like a red fruit (raspberry) rather then a pear, and the cherry blossom is very prominent. It has some cottoncandy/ fluffy feeling to it. The vanilla is also prominent and powdery, it adds a nice creaminess to it. It reminds me of La Vie est belle l'elixir. just a word of caution, be mindful with the trigger, if you spray to much it cluld be overpowering or headache inducing.

sweet but in a bubbly, shampoo-ish, bubble gum way. it smells clean and pink to me. performance is typical for a tesori d'oriente but I love trying their scents, and this one is a safe bet compared to others from them. really liked the cherry blossom in this, it's not my type of scent but I usually wear it to bed, after shower. makes me feel girly and clean

Sweet, powdery, light and fruity, in an elegant and beautiful way. Like a cotton ball that’s fluffy and perfumed with a powder that smells like cherry blossom and peach. For the price don’t expect the most refined fragrance you’ll ever smell, but it’s a great little perfume, more sugary than I expected. Great projection.

people have stopped me (coffee shop, train) to ask me what fragrance i am wearing. shocking value for a 5 euro bottle. Such a pity that the longevity is not that long. On clothes it lasts for days though. Rice & cherry blossom notes are dominant, powder vibes also are noticable. Would recommend<3

This perfume is really sweet, milky and creamy more then powedry. Top notes are Rose, Cherry blossom, peach and a lot of vanilla. It's very feminine perfume,with nice girl vibe. She is soo pure you want to put her like a rose in a gless and keep her.

Absolutely amazing for the price point, it's a very sweet summer floral, however, this IS the kind of fragrance that makes bees, wasps, and insects generally more interested in me, so maybe watch out haha.

There was no tester so I made this big investment because the tag line "Cherry blossom and rice water" somehow attracted me. Now I am smelling my arm looking for a hint of the latter. No trace to be found in the notes either. This said, Ikigai is a 'nice' fragrance. Feminine, girly, with no further ambition. IMO for a bunch of euros that's OK.

this one is surprise for its price, and there is a bit of a powdery, but mostly leisure sweet floral flower scent.

Smells surprisingly sweet and artificial, like some kind of PEZ or a very sugary fruit drink.

Perfect at first, but develops into expensive hotel fun air refreshener

This is extremely powdery for a dry down, to me its almost old fashioned smelling with a marginal fruity twist

it’s so sweet and fresh :) i wore it while also wearing the matcha & sakura blossom dove deodorant and someone told me i smelled like a flower garden!!!!!! sososo cute and girly sometimes i spray it before going to bed because it’s so calming

I wish I was getting what the other reviewers are! This genuinely just smells like a floral room spray to me but I’ll put it to one side and try it again next month 😕

It reminds me a lot of Kenzo Amour but sweeter! Very creamy, sweet and clean, I think that's what Sleeping Beauty would smell like 🌸
