Thalasso Therapy

If you are one of the many who have no idea what the air smells like near the sea, rocks, ocean and salt flats, then this aromatic perfume that costs next to nothing could be for you. This little gem, composed of a light blue metal bottle, hides the essence of the ocean inside, like a shell that preserves the smell of the sea ambient. Imagine a large shell half immersed in the sand, wet by the waves and kissed by the sun. The sea, algae, sand and salt scent releases and fills the air all around. This is not the usual marine smell you get from calone, which imitates the smell of fresh water, melon, and watermelon. We should not think of associating the perfume with the aquatics that took over in the late 80s and 90s, such as “Cool Water (Eau de Toilette) | Davidoff”, “Aqva pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Bvlgari”, and many CK summer flankers, rich in fruity aquatic notes, with a strong sweet component that is often cloying and nauseating. This is the smell of algae and salt slowly emerging in the salt pans rising on the seashore. The sun and the wind evaporate the water, and the white gold crystals take shape. Between the Adriatic, Mediterranean and Tyrrhenian seas, the culture of salt is still alive and flourishing. Italy has always been one of the Mediterranean countries where salt is not only an ingredient but also an industry. There are several active natural salt pans that, besides representing an extraordinary ecosystem, are also places for the production of this precious mineral. Since ancient times, salt has been used as a currency of exchange and to preserve perishable foods. There are three ways to get salt. There is sea salt, obtained by flooding the coastal basins and allowing the water to evaporate. Then rock salt, extracted from real quarries. Finally recrystallized salt, extracted from the ground where millions of years ago there was a salt lake. What we smell in TT is very similar to sea salt, enriched with salty aquatic notes, those of algae. If I had to classify this perfume, I would put it in the same group as “Kenzo pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Kenzo”, “Fiore Dell’Onda | L’Erbolario”, “Acqua di Sale | Profumum Roma”, and Rem by Reminiscence. The latter are the ones that share more vibrations in common and that are perceived as more salty, ozonic, and mineral. Thalasso Therapy is an amber, salty and aquatic that fits the salty vanilla movement of recent years. It opens with a tamed citrus accord. Despite the many citrus peels, none of the bergamots or mandarins are too sour, suffocating or overdosed, but the lemon. Together with the vanilla, lemon creates a sort of creamy effect, a salty lemon curd aroma. Instead, the first guest to do the honours is sea salt. This combination of citrus peels and salt creates a feeling of freshness and spaciousness, of freedom and relaxation. Although reproduced by a synthetic molecule, this sea salt smell is not annoying and does not remind you of the freshness of ocean-scented cleaning products, home and car air fresheners or even shower gels. On the contrary, salt, lemon and vanilla create a fresh sensation of salty cream, which brings with it spicy and citrus facets. As the heart starts to beat faster and make itself felt, the nuances of talcum intertwined with the salty and spicy ones rise. Talcum, grains of salt, green algae and vanilla pods form a fresh, dry, sweet and salty aroma, which evokes the atmosphere that you breathe in the spa. This perfume is truly therapeutic. Its aroma relaxes and releases all tensions, transports us to silent, deserted, sunny places, bathed by the waves and refreshed by a light breeze that brings with it all the scents of the sea. I also feel a spicy, resinous, and waxy note, which adds a slightly glistening and spicy touch to the saltiness that makes the overall impression more natural. Under the ocean breeze are tender flowers. I can detect a delicate touch of blueish lavender, not as prominent as in Cool Water, intertwined with silver sage and geranium that adds a rose feeling to the composition. The floral accord is at its strongest in the opening and then fades away. The presence of seaweed is notable, a mix of seaweed that gives a particular twist to the fragrance. Then the coumarins, presumably both vanilla and tonka, come out to add some warmth to the base, while the ozonic ocean notes never fade away. Depending on your skin, there might be a bit of woodiness, more from the cedar or more from the sandalwood. However, the woods don’t overwhelm the last phase, which is all about the soapy musk and waxy elemi. I can barely smell the patchouli, which maintains the right balance between the aquatic, salty and spicy accords, without forcing its natural dirtiness. You don’t know it if you don’t know it’s there. Instead, the vanilla, salt and seaweed are the accords I detect most strongly. I must admit that it took me a while to convince myself to try this perfume. The Tesori d’Oriente brand is familiar to me, for its first and outstanding White Musk, but also for the latest releases that recall some trendy niche perfumes. I discovered a pleasant sea scent that lasts for many hours on the skin, sticks to clothes, and releases a very delicate, recognizable talc marine trail. I think it is perfect for warm temperatures, from late spring to early autumn. During the day or in the evening, it suits perfectly the summer events in the open air, evenings by the sea. Without spending a fortune, this precious perfume could surprise many sceptics who, like me, have ignored it without a valid reason. I have received compliments for the beauty of its smell and for its delicacy, that talc marine trail that makes you dream as if you were lying in a hammock in Fiji. I wrote my review based on a bottle that I have owned since August 2024 (BC 22455L01D).

let me begin this review with a disclaimer: this perfume is far from my usual fragrances in terms of notes, so i sincerely apologize in advance if my review of it ends up making little sense if not at all. the bergamot and lemon opening is so soft. it's definitely mixed with something else that's not in the pyramid. feels like i'm putting on a bergamot after-sun lotion, it's a creamy bergamot. it's not a tropical scent, no no. this is very soft. i definitely smell the algae and the salt. it really feels like i'm at the beach or even at the pool, playing with a ball in the water, maybe drinking some veeery slightly milky/coconut beverage while you're chilling on one of those inflatable mattresses? it's like the scent that stays on you when you get out of the water. especially sea. it also makes me think of, maybe a kid who's playing with the sand and making a castle, some of his sun lotion gets stuck on his hands so now he smells of both sand and lotion. or you're that person chilling under the umbrella, with sun glasses on, sunbathing, undisturbed, you don't want to hear anything from anyone. the wind sometimes brings a little of sea breeze to your nose and it feels nice. but mostly i would say this smells like you just came out of the water after a swim and you're wrapping yourself up in a towel, ready to go take a shower. or it smells like the scent that remains on the towels after a day at the beach. you used them for a lot of different things, you lied down on them, you used them to dry yourself up, so they're all filled with that salt water and sand scent. that's what it smells like. and definitely there's a bit of sun in there. it makes me think of a sunny day. it doesn't feel like you're wearing perfume (one aspect of the tesori brand that i love). perhaps it's because they make body washes and shower creams of the same scents as their aromatic perfumes so i'm being brainwashed into thinking that their scents are mostly soft, but it really doesn't feel like perfume. it feels like you acquired the scent from the environment. it doesn't leave a trail. despite the fact that it feels like being at the beach, i wouldn't say that anyone could tell that you smell of "the beach". like, no one would complain that you smell of salt and sand. it gives me lotion vibes, more than anything. as if you used a summer-y lotion on yourself or as if you put on some expensive hair oil. it's been so many years since i smelled a nivea sun cream or their after-sun lotion but i wonder if that's what it's reminding me of. it's sea in a bottle. the concept of sea. the concept of vacation. i love it but i think this is a strictly summer (maybe spring) scent. i'm definitely curious to try it in a colder temperature, though. 10/10. the execution is flawless! it's so evocative. i love that it feels like a non-perfume. i truly love it.

I am obsessed with this. I have recently discovered it and I am totally mesmerized by how beautiful the algae notes meet the marine & salty ones, then the citrus comes in and the cedar settles everything down. To me it's the ultimate spa smell, so relaxing, ticklishly cold. It is indeed unisex but it tends to go towards feminine as I also feel some floral sweetness in all that sold and sharp marine notes. For more than a half of year am looking for a better longevity alternative to this as this would be the sole drawback- it only lasts around 4 hours on may skin :(. I'm ok with reapplying as it is soooo cheap, but I actually love the dry down a lot so i prefer this part to last longer. My search let me so far to: - REM REMINISCENCE UNISEX - YES! 110% copies of each other. But REM REMINSCENCE lasts about 4 hours also on my skin, and it's more expensive, so Thalasso wins. - REM REMINSCENCE MEN - NO. No algae, no spa feeling,, just a nice manly marine salty smell. It's nice but it is not that I am looking for. - MONTALE SANDFLOWERS - ... hmmmm not that close. On me MONTALE is very sharp in the beginning, the juniper note sits sooo bad on me :((((. It turns the entire perfume intro something sour and bitter. And this part laaaaasts and laaaaasts many hours. I swear, it's like i put pickled olives on me. You know that sour - bitter smell? It's not like a perfume at all, it's like ...eating sour pickled olives. So that's my problem with MS. Otherwise, around that bitter & sour smell there's a cloud of Thalasso around me which I love. Eventually it settles down into something similar to Thalaso, so I am quite happy with that, but the first 2-3 hours are a pain. What I did to make that work, is to layer MS with Thalasso and that was a good idea. I get the longevity I crave for, but also I get the beautiful marine, salty, algae notes I dream of. - Bvlgari AQVA Marine - NO. Again no algae, just a men's perfume, with lots and lots of citrus, rosemary & cedar. Again, nice for a men, but not what I am looking for. - Bvlgari Aqva Amara - NO. Beautiful perfume. Awesome bitter citrusy deep & a bit marine smell. But not similar to Thalasso in my opinion. Not even close. - Olimpea Paco Rabane - NO. It's something else entirely. Just because it is salty it doesn't mean it's in the same family of perfumes. Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale & Fiore dell Onda - i did not get the chance to test unfortunately.

I really don't understand what's not to like about this. To me this is effervescent and elusive in all the best ways. In my opinion, there is nothing sharp or offensive about this scent. The best way to describe how this smells is: you live in a beautiful beach house, you just got out of the shower after a lazy day of tanning at the beach and you pick up a freshly washed linen shirt that has been drying outside and has soaked in some saltiness from the sea air. In other words, wearing it makes me feel like clean and sun-kissed and transports me to a the seaside! In my opinion this is a pretty safe blind buy if you like musky or marine scents (the musk is VERY strong with this one). I personally can't get enough and will be stocking up on backups! Longevity is amazing on clothes and pretty poor on skin if you care about that kind of thing from a £5 perfume. Ah and I can totally see both genders pulling it off.

Taken by a compulsive shopping spree, I emptied the Treasures of the East sector. Having snubbed and / or underestimated it for years and years, despite having appreciated its olfactory performance on several occasions. After reading all the reviews here on Fragrantica I decided to test and experience these cheap fragrances, very synthetic but still pleasant, if I don't want to, I will spray them in the rooms ... Thalasso Therapy by Tesori d'Oriente is a fragrance that evokes fresh, salty atmospheres, marine: I would not define it as a dupe of Acqua di Sale since it is absolutely free of myrtle. Summer fragrance, aromatic that evolves towards balsamic.

The perfume reminds me of sea and salt. No ozonic, watermelon notes here. Light citrus opening, after minutes one smells the sea -the wet, algae, mineral smell of a rocky beach or a smell similar to wet sand getting dried under the sun. I can feel the freshness-wetness getting warmed from the sun. The smell reminds me also of anice. Really fresh impression. The package is lovely. The double toned blue bottle with the golden details fits perfectly. Duration is more than 7hrs, sillage is moderate. I bought it for 5€ which is a steal.

people associate this with aqua amara but this is a cheap aquatic scent. it's not a bad scent - it's rather unique smelling - but I have some bad memories associated with it. funny how olfactive memory works. it's very briny, salty and you can detect something marine and organic which I presume is the algae/ sea weed note. I doubt these are natural ingredients, though.

I find myself wearing this alot lately, gives me this fresh out of the shower feel, spa like smell. I haven't gotten any compliments on it but on me, it lasts and it's so inofensive. I think it's perfect for hot weather as its not sweet at all so it just works! I kinda love it

Salty, oceanic, comforting. If you make it through the citrusy, cleaning fluid opening, you are left with a refreshing and oddly long lasting scent that is true, salty magic. A summer favourite and the price is dirt cheap.

I absolutely love it. So fresh and breezy. Kinda like "linen fresh" scents, but oceanic. Unfortunately it doesn't lasts. Maybe 2hrs max is what I get.

Salty and sweet laundry detergent,i looooooove it !!!

Every time I get to visit Italy, I return with some new Tesori products, as I just love these inexpensive, yet always intriguing and good quality scents. My two recent acquisitions are Thalasso Therapy and Thai Spa. Thalasso Therapy is the first marine scent in the Tesori Line. I have seen people comparing it to Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale - might be, I don't know that scent, so I am on my own here. On me, Thalasso Therapy is a salty, wet, very marine scent. It is the sea in a bottle :) With floating seaweed, wet wood, sand and the salty breeze. Very few floral and citric accents. Unlike my other Tesoris, this one is more of a skin scent, and does not last very long. During our seaside holiday I used it mercilessly spraying it all over combined with my favorite summer cologne, Blood Orange& Basil from Acqua Colonia, and they make a surprisingly good combo! Fruity, herbal and a bit salty. I adored it and probably going to use them together. I think Thalasso Therapy is great for layering, if you want to add a marine/salty note to your scent, or as a summery skin scent if you are not that into citric scents. The bottle is very beautiful as always. Maybe not the best Tesori ever, but absolutely worth the price! Edit> my sister also used it for a few days, and on her I could smell it a lot longer and the floral and musky notes developed beautifully. As a general rule, it depends on your skin chemistry...

OMG. I searched for a long, long time for a perfume that would give me an ocean vibe, I tried a lot of types and also bought some of them (you can see in my profile), but I think my mission is complete! I found it! The smell of the sea, literally. I love it so much but here comes the disappointment: it's almost impossible to call it a perfume, it's more like you put a scented oil on yourself, it doesn't radiate at all and it has a strong acetone smell if you don't mix it well before you apply! (take note) In conclusion: the smell is perfect, but the performance is not good, if the company sees this reviews all I have to say is just make one of these in perfume! We'll be happy to pay for it!

It is similar to REM, which I own. It took my nose awhile to adapt to REM. They are oceany but somehow powdery and slightly oriental. I probably wouldn't own REM if I had this first, yet I find REM for 25 bucks on super sale. Thalasso Therapy is less than 10 bucks and a good value. I don't consider it or REM to be proper EDTs to enjoy for a day of wear. These are too conceptual. Salt and seaweed? In my opinion such scents are aroma therapy for changing the mind set and entertaining the imagination and as such are very good and enjoyable.

Smells like sea water that dried up on the skin. It's straight up aquatic, like the idea of water in a bottle. Nice for layering, I wouldn't really wear it on its own. When I come close I smell something rubbery that I can't place.

I was pretty excited for this because of the review and because of how the scent would suit me since i usually go for clean, fresh fragrances with citrus and musk notes — first spray the top notes smelled pretty pleasant, until i exhaled after the first breath in. Immediately got hit with the most jarring, pungent algae smell. It smelled like what still seawater would smell like with moss and seaweed growing in it and a dead fish rotting inside. I felt like i was trapped inside a sea cucumber alongside some lemon room spray. I couldn’t smell it without my gag reflex being triggered. I get why people say it’s a realistic aquatic fragrance, but it does not in any way smell palatable for me. It’s not even how it works on my skin, sprayed it in the air and the metallic fishy notes were still there. My friend thinks it’s okay so it’s definitely a preference thing, but not worth a blind buy if you can try it out first. I think i should’ve gone for byzantium.

So close and yet so far. I love the minty-oceanic-seaweed accord in Acqua Di Sale, but I think it's quite overpriced for what it is, so once in a while I try other perfumes that do something similar. Thalasso Therapy does it with a slightly different balance, but it can be quite close on the first smell. But it's explicitly synthetic and the more I smelled it the more unpleasant it became, to the point of me trying to wash it off. Considering the price I cannot fault it really, but being cheap is useless when the quality is not good enough to actually wear it. Cannot recommend.

The fabric softner it really smells nice, salty, marine, ozonic. EDT on me smells like camphor and coconut ,sun lotion. It last a little over one hour. Now I regret the blind buy.

I wanna vomit, I'm collecting all of Tesori but not this one. Seaweed with musk, nooo. It smells like people who smokes cigarettes on the bus and try to cover with perfume.

Nasty headache. Doesn ́t worth the hype.

a horrendous perfume. It smells of the dirty and polluted sea. it is very oily on the skin. very poor performance. injudgable.

I'm wearing Thalasso Therapy without experiencing any typical synthetic note reaction, no failure I may expect because of its small value, so this little big nothing is an unsuspecting gem. I cannot make any comparison or say if it's similar to the above-mentioned perfumes, alas I do not own any. Slightly briny/salty aura, some kind of mixture of seawater in estuaries and river water gives me peacefulness. When it touches my skin an imaginary vinyl film incredibly envelops me and molds itself upon contact, nicely. The slimy and dense sensation of seaweed gratifies me raising a soothing halo to my movements in the very first moments. I also discovered a talcum powder side on a rainy day. Little at a time it goes away, but it was worth it. 🐚

The more I get into perfumes the more I believe maceration, or whatever the actual term, is a real thing. First time I smelled this perfume I was nauseated by the algae/ fishy metallic smell. I let it sit and one year later no fishy smell to be detected.. Now I smell the salty sea water with lots of powdery musk. Now It's ok! I have to add that I didn't buy Rem because I had the same terribile first experience but for the cost of this tesori d'oriente gem it was worth it. However if you like the sea and salty accord with the musky abd woodsy base I would higly reccomend Alyssa ashley's Ocean Blue. It's super affordable and it's smoother and refined.

Blast of watery alcohol and the slightest hint of perfume, I wouldn't even rate this a body spray it's so weak, noone will smell this on you, not even you... I guess there's hints of REM to this in that if you happen to be able to smell it... It is a nature smell but it's even weaker than REM and REM lasts about 2 mins

bvlgari aqua amara 60% mixed with bvlgari aqva and bvlgari blv it is very linear ..... and only 3 hours longevity max put 8-12 sprays at least...overall a good amara clone 7/10

This is a beautiful - and very cheap - marine scent. It smells like lemon and salty water, with some woody notes in the base. Don't think twice - just buy it and enjoy!
