Sin Poetry

Unique. Unique. Unique. Does any one remember hope chests? Im sure a lot of guys have no idea what they are and probably none of the ladies either born in the nineties or later. But as hope chest was this large wooden box made of cedar i believe (maybe the wood varied but my mom had a cedar one). In our family, the women were passed down the chest or gifted a new one in marriage. My sister has my mom's. In it there were lost teeth in baggies, baby pictures, first report cards, first steps and every other sentimental memento that a family creates. I remember opening it and grabbing photo albums from it or signed albums that commemorated my parents first date....anyway, when I opened the chest I was blasted by the smell of cedar, old books, paper. THAT exact accord is in the scent along with a hint of wet earth, cinnamon and an herbaceous thyme note. You will smell like no other For cooler weather... For mystique For the night For a scent that lasts and leaves an imprint of nostalgia... Overall:4.55 Love this

The name is incredibly cheesy but the perfume is nicely blended, a standard but pleasing spicy amber with incense and dry cedar. It’s a tamer Gucci Pour Homme. Unfortunately it is a very short lasting perfume, dwindling down withon two hours and shimmering into oblivion not long after.

Lovely peppery and spicy opening. Becoming warmer and sweeter as it settles. A lovely unisex fragrance with excellent longevity. Tasty but not worth the price tag.

Maybe the name also puts an image to my head; but I imagine a poet sitting at his desk; slowly reaching for his ink to put down the words on the parchment - the wooden interior is full of smoke coming from the pipe - ready to do what he is best at; creating magic. Sin Poetry is a lovely woody creation; cashmere wood and musk at the base, a good dosage of vetiver in the heart and pepper and caraway in the top; hints of cinnamon and melon make this just a little sweet, but overall to my nose this is an almost greenish spicy and smoky creation. These materials blend together so so well and just create something extraordinary.

Beautiful opening with lots of spices and a soft cumin-like note coming from the caraway. The base is all woody, balsamic and resinous, with the characteristic amber feeling, not particularly original but very well blended. One of my favourites of Testament.
