Amber Room

Amber room by Thameen is an extremely accurate representation of the original first version and formulation of Ambre Nuit. There is no doubt that this is a clone of Ambre Nuit, there are minor differences especially in dry down but 95% the same. I'm wearing both on separate wrists and they are very close. For awareness the new version of Ambre Nuit has also been reformulated, so some compare this to the version prior to reformulation which in actual fact is still the new version of Ambre Nuit. The vintage version of AN has it's own separate page section on this site since it has a completely different note tree and it's this version that Amber Room smells like. You can tell them apart by the citrus and spice in the opening of the vintage version, the opening on the vintage version smells medicinal almost having a cinnamon characteristic. The new version of AN has a damp smell to it which I can't explain, it also lacks in performance compared to the older versions. I'm actually very pleased that the original version of AN lives on in the Thameen version. If you like AN then go for it!

Yesterday got sample of it, and I love it! To not much of surprise since I'm sucker for amber scents. This one is significantly different from most of my amber scents collection as it's more like fresh woody amber type if you will. I should add, I don't smell any rose in here, but clearly sense more woods, like sandalwood and probably not too stinky oud as well. Also it definitely has cardamom and pink pepper (I guess it meant by spices here) and something sweet, maybe honey or vanilla. Longevity is very good. It lasted at least 16 hours. Projection and sillage... I would call it deceptively moderate. After about 4 hours I had impression it turned skin scent, but when I was meeting my friends at about 6th hour they complimented me from about 2 ft away that I smell good as usually. Since I have over dozen niche ambers in my collection, at this point I wouldn't buy full bottle at $220 for 50 ml bottle, but I'm definitely will be looking for it appearing at discount sites within next year. As soon as I see it under $150 I'm so snatching it!

I ordered a sample of this to try and I'm not disappointed. I do own Dior's Ambre Nuit and they're completely different on me. Ambre Nuit is more masculine and a bit sharp, whereas Amber Room takes a more powdery approach. I get no rose or bergamot on me, but I do get the amber, spices, a touch of animalic musk, and spices. I'm not sure where the powdery notes are coming from, maybe the amber? This one puts me in mind of Revlon's Ciara a bit, at least on my skin. It's warm and cozy; great for cooler temps. I'm new to Thameen and this amber was a smooth, pleasant surprise. As for longevity, I'll have to comment later as I've not given a proper wearing.

i scooped this perfume up from facebook marketplace for $15. it is a 50ml bottle with 30ml remaining and the cap missing, but i can’t lie i did get lucky. lets get to how it smells. it honestly smells like the fizz of warm coca cola. thats the most relatable comparison i can give. this stuff is very high quality. you can just tell its well made. you can pick apart every note that is listed. its masterfully blended. longevity is about 8 hours with great projection. i half-sprayed it on my forearm and i still got wafts of it 6 hours later. performs really well. very beautiful sweet, rosy and spicy ambery scent. i absolutely love it. 8.5/10.

Amber Room is a gorgeous fragrance with great longevity. I could smell it on my wrist when I woke up this morning from having applied it yesterday midday. Bergamot is at the fore in the opening, giving way to a spiced resin beauty. Certain amber fragrances have a musty quality, but Amber Room has none of that and has a warm, comforting quality. Love this one. Sillage is modest and though longevity is huge, it dries down to a close-to-skin scent. This seems to fill a gap in the spectrum, if you're a person who loves/worships/adores amber. Nicely done, indeed.

Just like Carved Oud IMO is a better version of Oud Wood, this one is a better version of Ambre Nuit (I see the resemblance to 40 Knots in the opening but not as much as to Ambre Nuit). Side by side, Amber Room will get higher scores across the board. However, if originality is important to you (as it is sometime to me), get the subpar fragrance and enjoy! For the rest, do get your nose on this one, it is a masterpiece!!! Versatile, great performer and surprisingly a crowd pleaser. PS Better version does not mean a clone, I own both and find use for both.

For some reason the amber perfumes are always "pure" amber where there is nothing unique about them. This amber is different. I call it the "sweet amber" due to its beautiful openings. Bergamot and other refreshing notes welcome you the minute you spray it on your skin. A few minutes later the amber starts coming out very nicely and slowly. A friend told me it didnt last long enough on him, but it lasted for one full day on me, and I honesty dont expect it to last any longer..

I must admit I find the opening and first couple of minutes a little off putting, I get almost a cleaning chemical vibe from it which I dont with Ambre Nuit , after this though it settles to Dior Ambre Nuit with a touch of honey and better performance than at least current bottles of the Dior. Its very nice and worth getting at about half the retail price you can usually pick it up from on Ebay.

Very happy to have this in my collection. Bears a strong resemblance to New York Amber by Bond No. 9 which has sadly been discontinued. I personally don't get the Ambre Nuit reference at all but, fragrance is quite subjective. Good performance, sillage and longevity. Great stuff.

Oh wow an accurate "remind me of" on fragnatica? It is pretty much 70% Dior Ambre Nuit (Closer to the OG formulation), and 30% Xerjoff 40 Knots.

A really nice amber fragrance. Sweet and slightly rosy. It's like an upgraded Ambre Nuit. Scent: 9/10 Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 9/10

40 Knots for fall/winter - excellent for the office too. Love it!

#717 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is a likeable, fresh, very mildly spicy, amber scent that everyone will enjoy. My personal favorite in this category is Maison De Darius' unparalleled "Notorieta", though as a house still in start-up mode you have to be patient with them on supply (Every time I have a bottle of their fragrances on the shelf some girlfriend nicks it. I just realized my bottles of Notorieta and Nag Nool have disappeared). MFK "Grand Soir" and Dior "Ambre Nuit" are also great amber scents, but ridiculously pricey. Though this Thameen scent is not cheap by any means, it's a considerable savings over the Dior, of which it's almost a clone, and a huge savings over the MFK Grand Soir, and neither of those scents are so much better that the cost jump would be justified for me. That said, I would recommend you just get get the Armani "Stronger with You Amber", Mancera's "Amber Fever" or for the guys Givenchy's "Gentleman Reserve Privee" which has more bergamot and a lovely iris note. That said, this Thameen scent is car pool, elevator and office safe, dead center unisex, good quality, but it's not really unique in any way, and you really don't need to spend over $100 for a scent like this.

With a Thameen fragrance from 2013, there’s a couple things you know straightaway: 1) Unoriginality. And yes this is basically Ambre Nuit with a touch more honey, a bit of coca-cola fizz at the top, but basically that chic rose amber. Maybe due to the honey this is maybe 5% more feminine but they’re both essentially unisex. 2) It'll have quality and a certain British style. This lasts well, it smells high-class, with a very nice balance of projection that’s intriguing but not impolite. I think beyond a certain point in one’s fragrance journey, these old “me too” Thameens can have too little to offer (Christopher Chong at the helm is certainly starting to change that). But for a “normal person” smelling this at a shop without a deep base of reference, it’s a perfectly lovely, resinous, seductive, classy and long-lasting amber. Nothing objectively wrong with it - besides the price of course.

Thameen makes wonderful fragrances. I think this would be a love for me if it had a bit more originality. Amber, rose, spices are included in a large number of other scents. I agree that this one resembles Ambre Nuit, which is one I do love. This is a safe scent in that it can be worn any time of year, unisex, and not a beast in terms of silage, which I find moderate. It's happy and fun and worth a first date if not quite an engagement ring.

Extremely pleasant unobtrusive Oriental scent that can serve as a nice introduction to this class of scents. The perfume opens with aromatic notes of citrus, ginger, cardamom and pepper. The heart is patchouli, rose and cinnamon. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of amber, sandalwood, tonka, vetiver and slight incense. The unisex scent has moderate sillage and good longevity. Dignified and hard to dislike. Enjoy!

This is a rose/patchouli fragrance to my nose. Super rosey, in fact. I dont even really like rose fragrances but this is beautifully blended. However, despite its name, Im struggling to find any amber in here. Any amber thats supposed to be in here seems to be tucked way, way, way in the back behind all this rose and patchouli. Dries down to this subtle plush smelling velvety rose, wood, tonka type deal.

I'm almost at grandpa age and I love this scent Got it for 112euro on Notino for 100ml.It ticks all the boxes for me ,lovely amber rose , slightly fresh ,multi functional,not beast mode but 5/6 hrs which is fine .
