Carved Oud

Today, I'm staying with the esteemed house of Thameen, turning my attention to their fragrance, Carved Oud. For me, this is the scent that truly put Thameen on the map, heralded as an ideal counterpart to Tom Ford's Oud Wood. Knowing Oud Wood stands among my top Tom Ford creations, the idea of another fragrance that wasn't a clone, yet could go head-to-head with it, was incredibly compelling. I'm eager to ascertain if it lives up to its considerable hype as a worthy alternative. Let's get into it. Opening The initial moments of Carved Oud unfurl a tapestry of rich woods, warm spice, and grounding earth. The leading notes that immediately register are oud, cardamom, patchouli, and cedar, with the oud and patchouli asserting the strongest presence. True to its name, the oud commands the early stage, presenting a dark, rich, and distinctly earthy wood tone. This oud is strikingly gentle, almost identical in its refined character to the oud found in Tom Ford's Oud Wood, adeptly bypassing the challenging "barnyard" or "fecal" aspects often linked with raw oud. Following closely, patchouli contributes an intense, almost moist earthiness, accented by subtle green nuances. Next, cardamom and cedar seamlessly integrate. The cardamom plays a supporting role here, yet it successfully imparts its signature warm, distinctively spicy accord, reminiscent of that found in scents like D&G's The One, though here it's notably smoother and more polished. Finally, cedar punctuates the opening with a substantial, dry woodiness, clearly distinct in essence from the oud, and notably free from the divisive "pencil shavings" quality it sometimes carries. Dry Down As Carved Oud evolves, the dry down settles into a sophisticated blend of deep woods, lingering earthiness, and a soft hint of sweetness. The primary elements I continue to perceive are oud, patchouli, cedar, and vanilla, with the oud and cedar becoming the most prominent. The oud, predictably, remains the central focus, maintaining the same dark, earthy woodiness from the initial phase. However, in this later stage, it develops a slight animalic edge – it's subtle, certainly not approaching the intensity of pure natural oud, but it does feel a fraction darker than the oud in Oud Wood. Concurrently, cedar gains prominence, offering a more pronounced measure of the dry woodiness that began in the opening. These key elements are then joined by patchouli and vanilla. The patchouli shifts to a background role, delivering its familiar damp, green earthiness, now softened and more understated. Lastly, vanilla emerges, enveloping the dry down in a comforting, gentle sweetness; it's subtle enough not to overwhelm the primary notes, yet sufficient to provide a nuanced coziness. Performance The initial projection in the first hour is remarkably robust, effortlessly filling a room. The scent's sillage demonstrates comparable strength, casting a discernible and ample trail. After approximately three to four hours, the projection maintained a solid presence, extending about six feet, with the scent trail remaining readily apparent. Around the 7-8 hour mark, the projection had died down considerably to about arm's length, and the scent trail was only faintly noticeable. The fragrance became a skin scent shortly thereafter, demonstrating respectable performance. When to Wear Carved Oud positions itself as an exemplary fragrance for fall and winter, equally at home during daytime and evening occasions. Its inherent sophistication and composed elegance make it an outstanding choice for a romantic encounter or any special celebration. It also possesses the refinement suitable for formal gatherings or an office environment. However, due to its very polished and reserved nature, I wouldn't typically opt for it in highly casual settings. Blind Buy Categorizing Carved Oud as a universally safe blind buy depends largely on personal preference. However, if you are drawn to elegant woody fragrances, and especially if you appreciate Tom Ford's Oud Wood, then this is unequivocally a 100% safe blind buy. It provides an exceptional and highly approachable entry point for exploring oud, particularly for those seeking its refined facets without the intensity of its more challenging forms, largely owing to its striking resemblance to a beloved classic. Final Verdict To be direct, Carved Oud offers an experience remarkably close to Oud Wood without being an exact replica. The oud itself bears a striking resemblance, as does the overarching structure of the fragrance. Carved Oud introduces a touch more depth to the oud, along with an added earthiness from the patchouli, but beyond these subtle distinctions, the two are remarkably similar. A significant point of contention for me with Oud Wood has always been its underwhelming performance. While I wouldn't label Carved Oud as a "beast mode" fragrance, it delivered marginally better longevity and noticeably better projection than Oud Wood on my skin. Ultimately, from my subjective perspective, Carved Oud emerges as the superior fragrance between the two, particularly considering its price point, which is typically around $100 less than Oud Wood. This is a scent profile I profoundly enjoy, and once my current bottle of Oud Wood is exhausted, I foresee myself reaching for Carved Oud as its dignified replacement in my personal collection. Review and comparison to TF OW. The batches being compared are - TF OW - B81 21257 (2021 September batch) & the batch on my Thameen CO - WMD23511-2 (no clue when it was made) First off, the presentation is quite nice. I have the 100ml bottle, and from what I can see, the 50ml is identical, only smaller. The box is quite solid, with good detailing & a drawer style opening, similar to Nishane. The padding inside is solid, but velvety to the touch. The bottle itself is somewhat bland, in my opinion. Not that it looks bad, but it’s a basic blue cube with the name of the house & the fragrance on the front of the bottle. It comes with a magnetic cap with the logo of the house on the top. The cap is almost rubbery to the touch, but it’s made of plastic. The cap also has a polarity wherein it corrects itself when you close it, similar to Dior, Chanel, Amouage, etc. the sprayer is excellent in terms of distribution, and creates a mist. It’s a pressurized atomizer similar to Dior’s, and one can control how much one sprays; but I think even with a full spray, it sprays a bit lesser than one’d imagine, so one will want to spray two sprays where usually it would be a single spray. Presentation wise it’s a 9/10. I only wish the bottle would’ve been a bit better decorated. Now for the smell. I don’t know what people saying this doesn’t smell like Oud Wood are smelling, but having spent enough time using both on different hands & separately, this is 99% Oud wood. The only minute differences I can pick are that in the opening, there’s a lack of pepper, which I liked in OW, but this is smoother, making it more versatile and usable (not by a huge margin) & In the dry down, the cardamom is quite a bit more prominent on my skin (this is the same type of cardamom note in YSL LNDL EDT), while in OW, the woody notes are more prominent (OW does not change beyond this). In the far dry down, they smell exactly alike. Essentially, CO has an extra layer of development from the opening where it smells like one has layered YSL’s La Nuit De L’homme edt with TF OW, before going into the final dry down, where it smells exactly like TF OW. In a blind test, if you’ve spent enough time with either, you can MAYBE pick out which is which in the opening and mid, but ONLY if you put your nose to it and really look for the differences. In the air or from one’s memory, there’s no way anyone is telling which is which. It’s quite hard to rate this fragrance in terms of smell, as it is clearly ripping off someone else’s work. However, the ingredients and blend being used are sublime, perhaps, even better than the original. At the same time, it is copying, pretty much with dead on accuracy, one of the best scents ever made. So for the smell, I’d give it a 9/10. Had this been an original composition, or even some kind of a twist to the DNA, I’d have given it a 10. Lastly, the performance. This is not a beast mode fragrance. Longevity is decent on my skin. Between 7-8 hours (which is double than that of OW), but it sits close to the skin after about 2 hours. Of course, OW is long gone by then. In the performance department, it gets a 7/10. Closing thoughts - In my eyes, this is certainly a clone of OW; only a very good quality clone with excellent ingredients and blend, done by a niche house in the form of an extrait, but a clone nonetheless. Generally, I don’t condone clones, but seeing as how OW has abysmal performance with an exorbitant price tag that just keeps rising, I have no issues with recommending this over OW, as the quality is just as good, if not better, with double the performance, at the same price, or even cheaper. Overall, I’d give this an 8/10.

When people first encounter oud and find it unpleasant, the reaction often comes from the slightly “funky” character oud can have. It may remind some of damp wood, animalic nuances, or the fermented quality of aged resin—sometimes even slightly sharp or pungent. Part of the reason lies in how oud is traditionally used. In many Middle Eastern oud perfumes, the materials or accords employed are quite powerful. They can contain prominent animalic, leathery, or even slightly fecal facets. These elements give oud its depth and wildness, but they are also what many people refer to as the “smell” of oud. In Carved Oud, however, that aspect is almost absent, which is likely one reason it receives such positive reactions. Rather than presenting oud in its most raw form, the fragrance places it within a modern Western structure and interprets it differently. The opening features cardamom and pink pepper, which create a sweet, gentle spice without sharpness. Cypress and cypriol follow, introducing a dry woody tone. The opening does not feel heavy; instead it resembles wood that has been dried by the wind, carrying a warm touch of spice. At this stage, the scent almost reads as a spicy woody composition, with the oud itself barely noticeable. By the time the oud appears in the heart, it has already been placed within a very clean woody framework. As a result, the oud smells more like dark polished wood rather than fermented resin. Cedar and patchouli continue to extend the dry woody character, while a faint powdery hint of iris appears. The transition between the opening and heart remains quite smooth. In the drydown, sandalwood, amber, and a touch of vanilla slowly emerge. The fragrance becomes warmer, yet still maintains its overall dry woody character. The overall impression is a clean, spicy, woody interpretation of oud. The oud is present, but it has been reshaped into something softer and easier to approach, without the animalic qualities that often intimidate new wearers. For many people, it works well as an introduction to oud.

I have a 2ml sample, and after wearing it and really testing it. This is what i come up with: Yes. This Is basically almost TF Oud Wood. Although not exactly the same, it's no question about it being Very inspired by Oud Wood. But honestly, i like Carved Oud better. I have only tried Oud Wood in a store once, and wore it on the arm for a day. So take that part with some salt. but, when i smelled Oud Wood on me, i got an "old dusty cabinet in an old cabin in the woods" smell. Not that great, and not very appealing. I never really loved it because of that (again, it was a tester in a store, so remember; "salt".) I'd give the scent of Oud Wood a 7/10. Carved Oud on the other hand smells like more freshly cut wood. It's spectacular. Sillage and longevity is great too. I can't help but love it, and i will be getting a full bottle at one point This is such an attractive, manly, rough and tough scent. Yet, it's gentle, fresh, clean and sexy at the same time. If this is what a good bottle of Oud Wood smells like, i now get why people love it. But for me, Carved Oud is the superior scent. It lasts all day. It projects nicely, but not room filling. Anyone passing you Will smell you though. Pretty linear through out. It keeps that fantastic scent from start to finish. Smells of quality and like an "old money" kind of guy. From what i've heard, this was supposed to be the old version of Oud Wood, before the reformulation that a lot of people dislike about Oud Wood. I can see this being great for Autumn, winter and spring. Day or night. Work safe if you're the boss or are closing deals. Could be work safe in general, but people might think you're planning to take over the whole operation. This is a Boss's scent. Score: 9/10. Very little i can complain about or want fixed. The only negative is that it is an "Inspired" fragrance. Blind buy safe if you like Oud, woody notes and mature scents. This is Not for the teenager looking for his first fragrance. This is an established, grown mans scent. And there is Nothing wrong with that.

No one is going to care about this story - but i want to immortalize it by putting it on the internet :) So around 2007 or so, I was in chicago for a long weekend with my girlfriend. We were walking the magnificent mile and stumbled into a saks - or something like that. There was a SA pushing the new "tom ford private collection" - first, i didnt know a thing about fragrance. I didnt know who tom ford was - and when she told me the price, i didn't care. She ended up giving me a sample set of the original scents - which included tobacco vanille, oud wood and tuscan leather. A few weeks after i returned, i remembered that i had been given the samples, and decided to try them out. I went back and forth between tuscan leather and oud wood - ultimately landing on oud wood. I spent a quarter of my paycheck and got a bottle. it was my pride and joy. It was the first "niche" or high end fragrance i had ever even heard of. I didnt know there was a whole underworld beneath the Macy's counter. i cherished that scent so much. I kept it in my car (yeah, bad idea) - so that i could spray it before i went somewhere. A few years later, i traded in my car...and i left the bottle in it. It was gone. The original release of tom ford oud wood was lost forever. I could get a new bottle - but i'm sure it's reformulated. fast forward to present day - i'm hearing carved oud smells like oud wood? i must try it. Well i'll be damned if this is not a dead ringer - nostalgia and everything - for the original oud wood. I thought this was gone forever. but ...alas...here it is again! From what i recall, i don't perceive any difference between this and oud wood. That can be good or bad, depending on how you view it. For me, it's good - because it smells just like my OG bottle. while this isnt tom ford, it may as well be. I'm happy. 10/10 best scent in existence.

I am on a mission to review every single oud fragrance that's accessible on the market and recently I managed to get my hands on this beauty right here. I get why people compare it with Tom Ford's Oud Wood but I think before the review that it must be noted that they're a similar scent profile but in terms of overall smell they're vastly different. I can see someone loving the one and not so much the other. So be weary before buying this, it can be a blind buy but definitely if you have any doubts get a sample first. So in terms of the scent, creamy loud yet smooth oud, patchouli to an extent where this almost makes it seem very very mildly medicinal, pink pepper, ceadar wood and I'd also say Guac Wood as well. There's also a punch of Cardamon and a very faint vanilla note on the far dry-down. In terms of longevity, I must say this is not your absolutely beast mode projecting 12 hours fragrance but with this you definitely get your moneys worth unlike Oud Wood. It lasts for about 8 hours on skin, projects for the entirety of those 8 hours, probably becoming a little mild though at the end but mind you it will still project. This unlike Oud Wood sits a lot further from the skin and it never gets to quite a skin scent, it always wants or tends to project even in tiny amounts at the very end. The length of projection is about arms length if not a little further but overtime it is almost guarenteed to fill a room up. The atomiser is beautiful probably the best I've ever had on a fragrance bottle and the bottle is a little too simplistic for me, I'd definitely prefer a bit a more creative one but it's down to preference. It does however have a magnetic cap! Overall, 9.3/10 honestly no complaints I'll eventually buy a full bottle of 100ml since this probably become an every dayer for me.

Assuming "Oud wood" now becomes an olfactory family, just like Chipre and Fougere are, this would be the best of the family. The iris note makes a whole bunch of difference here, both in terms of bring up the quality of the oud, but also, keeping the longevity. From the people complaining about longevity, I did a sleep longevity test, I spray a fragrance 4 times(both sides of the neck, and inner arm joins), and I go to sleep, I've been doing this for a long time and I can detect how much a fragrance has of sillage and duration based on this, good sillage fragrance I can remember having whiffs of that overnight, and duration is what I can whiff the next day. I sprayed 9pm this, enjoyed awake up to 11pm, end to sleep, woke up next day 8am, and I was truly surprised by the most beautiful scent I've awoken to. I kept getting whiffs of this up to midday, and what surprised me was that the types of whiffs were those surprise whiffs where you werent expecting anything, but suddenly you caught a breeze from the smell and wow. The drydown of this puts Oud Wood on a C tier list. I've compared this to Oud Wood Parfum samples, and to lower quality clones that I had in my reach. Nothing is as well blended and refined as this one is, and yes, first two hours it reminds a lot of Oud Wood but more powdered, but then the mid to end of the dry down is HEAVENS! Woody Oud from Maison Alhambra compared to this smelled hellafunky. and I dont think Woody Oud is funky at all, but this is so refined that if you smelled both at the same time you perceive the fecal facets of Woody oud.

First, a comment about the number one comparison, TF’s Oud Wood, a perfume that I wore on a regular basis between 2007 and 2011. When Oud Wood was reformulated, I lost interest. But the original Oud Wood was a wonderful, dry Oud dominant scent, a little spicy with cardamon but mostly dry woods. I always got compliments, it was my signature scent through three seasons (all minus summer) and I bought so many bottles in both 50 and 100ml, that I’ve lost count. One of my most recent purchases is Carved Oud, and I’m wearing this today on a early Fall Day. Maybe because I’m such a fan of the original Oud Wood—and I feel I really know the perfume well—I can honestly say their is only a little similarity to the original TF’s Oud Wood. Thameen’s Carved Oud is dominated by a warm, creamy wood note. I also think the notes listed on this page are not complete as I smell something sweet, like a good quality vanilla. It’s this perceived sweet wood note that makes them different (to the original release of Oud Wood in 2007). Carved Oud also smells fresher and more feminine, though both are truly unisex. Carved Oud is absolutely beautiful. If you like the original TF Oud Wood, then yes, I bet you will like this too. I will be wearing this on a regular basis through the next few months as I see it as the definition of a comfort scent. Edit: The only downside is the performance. I wish this lasted longer than two hours, sadly the case on my skin. The 2007 TF has this beat by a mile when it comes to performance.

This scent provokes an image to me of a detective in the 20th century that’s solving a missing person case in a nearby forest. Coming back from his unsuccessful look about in the forest, smelling of patchouli, slightly dark and earthy matching his mood. Uptight, serious and mature yet also warm to people close to him. He sits in a rather prestigious bar, smelling of rich wood from the cabinets and table tops where the taps lie that was recently installed. The wood lingers in the air and slowly seeps into his clothes over time as he spends a lot of his hours within it. A sober man, which is a rare occurrence he holds himself to a standard leaving no stone unturned in the possibilities of the missing person, his determine is matched throughout the length of this fragrance with his presence being noticeable to passersby but not announced upon his arrival. A very good woody fragrance that’s interesting. Very similar to Oud Wood but simply just better quality. I get this weird smell of a pencil right after it’s been sharpened in Oud Wood but also of concentrated syrupy juice that’s stuck to a carpet for some time that I strangely really enjoy. I get that in here too luckily. The presentation of the bottle, the magnetic cap and the atomiser are all quality and add to my imaginary thought of this scent, which I find rare in some fragrances. I assume I like this more than I can admit as I say that I like it, but not worthy of purchasing (yet).

i own a full bottle of oud wood (new bottle) and i've tested this one a few times now and i have to say: this one makes tom ford's oud wood completely redundant and i'm mad that i haven't found out about this one before i bought oud wood. it comes very close to oud wood, about 90-95% similarity. carved oud has a lot more going on, still very pleasant and smooth but more dense and rich which is why i prefer this one. the biggest difference the two share is in performance and longevity: this baby blows oud wood out of the water and it's not even close. oud wood brings about 5-6hrs at most on my skin with relatively weak projection. however, carved oud lasted about 8-9hrs for me with strong projection in the beginning and medium projection towards the end. i can't speak on how it compares to the old oud wood bottle with the gold label but the new ones feel absolutely worthless now that i know this one exists. also, the fact that carved oud is in a similar price point (i even found it for cheaper) further proves my point that it makes oud wood completely redundant: it's an almost identical scent profile (with a few twists that i really like), it lasts longer and has stronger projection AND it is partially cheaper than its counterpart. so why would you ever go and buy oud wood? tl;dr : this is nearly identical to oud wood and even better in terms of performance by a good distance. don't buy oud wood, get this instead

Carved Oud is phenomenal, is it my favorite put of all my fragrances? No, but its going to be up there for sure. And if you have this and a fan I highly recommend you get the carved oud lotion and hair mist. I got all 3 in a gift set, the 1.7oz fragrance, 3.4oz lotion and 3.4oz hair mist for around $150 from jomashop. Once you get out the shower put that lotion on (a little goes a long way btw) let that settle for a couple minutes then spray on fragrance and hair mist. After putting everything on i walked past the wife and she absolutely loves it as well. Its very similar to TF oud wood but a better version of it. If TF oud wood is a for mustang gt then this is like the Hennessy version of the mustang, took thw garbage parts out and replaced with far superior parts. I wasnt a fan of oud wood, it had more of a damp wood note that was peircing, best way I can describe what I didnt like. Other than that it would have been a great fragrance. This cleaned all that up in the best way possible for a fraction of the price.. Im not very good at describing notes but as someone who likes oud fragrances I dont smell any in this. I would say this is going to be for the more mature crowd id say 30+. This is a well put together clean wood fragrance. After a few more wears ill rate its performance?

As I mentioned in a previous review, this fragrance is absolutely amazing in terms of scent profile—but the performance is atrocious. I genuinely believe this fragrance suffers from multiple “faulty” batches, since people seem to either say it lasts forever or doesn’t last at all—hardly anyone is in between. My bottle was 100% authentic, and I was incredibly excited to finally have a longer-lasting version of Oud Wood. Unfortunately, it ended up performing just as poorly, if not worse. It projected for only 1–2 hours on my skin before becoming a faint skin scent, and completely disappeared after around 4 hours. This wasn’t a case of me going nose-blind either. When I started noticing the lack of longevity, I asked several people around me if they could still smell it. None of them could after the first hour or two unless they literally pressed their nose against my skin—and even then, it was just a faint trace. I ultimately ended up selling the bottle, as it simply wasn’t worth keeping with such disappointing performance. For anyone considering buying this fragrance, just be aware: many reviewers, including myself, have had serious longevity issues, while others haven’t experienced any. At this point, it really seems to come down to luck and which batch you get.

Carved Oud is clearly a take on Oud Wood, unmistakably a clone, but I don’t mean that in a negative way. While being a clone naturally means it doesn’t have a distinct personality of its own, it still manages to be quite enjoyable. There’s something in both Oud Wood and Carved Oud that evokes childhood memories for me, a synthetic note reminiscent of a detergent my grandmother used, maybe even a wrinkle-release spray for ironing, though I can’t pinpoint exactly which one. When I first discovered Oud Wood six years ago, its scent really stuck with me. Unfortunately, its performance left a lot to be desired, which is why I eventually moved on to Oud for Greatness. That one delivers a similar woody, metallic, slightly synthetic, resinous character, but with better longevity and projection. Still, if you're a fan of the Oud Wood DNA, Carved Oud is definitely worth owning but redundant if you have TF. The drydown is very close as well, although I’d say Carved Oud leans slightly more "floral" to my nose, closer even to Kredo by Nishane in that aspect while maintaining the nice, almost synthetic feeling and dryness of Oud Wood.

Having spent more time with this fragrance, my enjoyment of it goes up. Originally I felt it was too close to Versace Oud noir, and although there are some similarities (much closer to versace oud noir than oud wood IMO), this is spicier and dries down different. IMO this doesn't smell like kredo at all as that's much darker. Personally this is my favorite of all the "oud wood" type profiles, as it changes throughout the wear. The dry down by far is my favorite part of the fragrance, but that doesn't mean the opening and mid aren't good, they are. Take versace Oud noir (or Oud wood) and mix it with LNDH and you get this sexy fragrance. There's something about the composition that I feel gives it an edge and it's longevity is great, unlike some others. As far as performance, this lasts on the skin but isn't a crazy projector. After around the first hour it becomes more of a scent bubble, more of a introverted experience. You will smell it on you and others will as well that are close by you (a foot or 2). The more I wear this the more I enjoy it. Overall this is a winner and a must have for me.

I think "dudebro" summed it up right. It's similar to Oud Wood in the opening and perhaps a little more sharp/astringent than Oud Wood. As it dries down, the edges smooth out a bit. Where Oud Wood would sit closer to skin as it dries down. Carved Oud still projects. The dry down is where Carved Oud and Oud Wood separate. The first time I wore Carved Oud I was catching wafts for a good part of the day but was picking up something dark/mysterious. I was pleasantly surprised it went in this direction and didn't stay on the Oud Wood path. The hoodie I wore with Carved Oud sat next to my bed and woke up in the middle of the night and could immediately smell it. The only way I could describe it would be "smoky".....but not cigarette/campfire smoke. It'd be safe to say the patchouli/oud/musk was still working it's magic! BIG BIG fan of Carved Oud! So much so I picked up a bottle! Longevity....8+ hours. Situation to wear....practically anywhere. Season to wear.....I've only had this in the cool weather but can't see anyone wearing this in the summer (even though I wear Oud Wood in the summer!) Cheers!

Like TF’s Oud Wood, this is not what I think of when I think of “oud”. This is a very western scent; both are really just complex woody scents. However Thameen’s Carved Oud is an absolutely beautiful scent. It’s so much smoother than Oud Wood, which many is say is “airier” (and in a way the EDP is), but when comparing Oud Wood Parfum, then Carved Oud is more directly comparable, and STILL FAR BETTER. This is an absolutely masterpiece for western style oud. It’s smooth, sophisticated and luxurious. The scent is warm and enveloping, but not overpowering. It has good projection, and sillage, but not a monster in the way of Oriental ouds. It’s luxurious, but yet still entirely useable in a professional office environment; it’s incredibly sophisticated. It definitely leans masculine to me, but my wife has enjoyed wearing it on occasion. Very wearable on a warm sunny spring day as well. Thameen has some class leading scents. If you but TF over this its because of the branding and advertising, not the quality of the scent.

This is gonna be my first review ever. I'm on the journey to find my signature scent. Sampled it for the first time like a month ago and it was love at first sniff. Me and my friend liked it very much. Our favourite of 6 different perfumes we tried that night. He even said "Nothing I would wear but this smells like you" Then I gave it a full wear. But wasn't overly surprised. Then I gave it a second wear yesterday, a little spray on my chest, and it hit me. I really love this one. Smelled it on me the whole workday. From 8am to 4pm. So when I got home I sprayed some more on my neck this time. And nothing. I smelled it for like 20 minutes then it was gone. So I tried it today, a third time, sprayed on my chest again and got whiffs of it throughout the whole workday... Im confused. This is really really good. Can't compare to Oud Wood beacuse i haven't tried it. I love the smell, but ain't sure about the longevity or performance because of the two different experiences. Full bottle worthy?

A very dense, smooth and woody oud. This has not been elevated with the usuual fare of rose saffron or patchouli but dried and condensed with guaic wood and cedar. There is actually patchouli in here but in must just be lost among all the smooth sensual woodiness. Here's some simple questions I asked myself when reviewing a fragrance from a new house. Is it good...yes! Does it retain the qualities a fragrance with 'Oud' in the name should? yes! When I smell Thameen Carved Oud do I release an audible 'mmmmm...' of satisfaction? yes! Would I wear it? yes! Does it blow me away? Not really. That shouldn't be too much of a deterrent though because very few fragrances blow me away these days and even some that did, don't excite me anymore. If you want a gorgeously heady oud fragrance you've got it here but it's a hell of a crowded marketplace which is even confusing me now and I'm a fragrance nut! What chance does a noob have?

Simply the best fragrance I’ve ever smelled. This reminds me of my annual vacations to Colorado and driving up Estes park to see the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Very natural, smooth, comforting and woody which I love. I haven’t smelled oud wood so I dont know how it compares but I can’t see it beating this. Got a sample from luckyscent and I am here to announce that this is 1000% full bottle worthy. I love this stuff and I don’t see how anyone can’t. This will wow people with how good it smells and it is very memorable so it’ll leave a good lasting impression. I’m only 14 and I can definitely pull this off and I don’t think it is too mature or professional for me to wear it. It is very versatile as well as this can work in all four seasons. Only suggestion I have is to tone the sprays down in summertime wear. The perfect fragrance. Give it a try if you haven’t already. You won’t regret your decision.
