Centre Stage

This is stunning! I can't believe this is not getting much more love and attention! First up, I'm a woman (only mentioning that as it's classed as unisex). Hubby bought this for me last christmas. First worn on a very cold boxing day in England. The first spray I thought um, dunno about this, smells kinda cold, churchy, old books, hospital and clinical, but after about 10 minutes, I was in complete love. It reminds me of church incense, night time, old money, crisp winter air and warm fires. It's warm, sexy, alluring and comforting, but slightly cold, clinical and distant. The warm, spicy, amber and animalic notes shine through first for me, then the soft floral/iris and powdery notes appear and blend beautifully together. All of these notes are what lasts on my skin for hours. I'm not normally a big fan of amber fragrances, they usually pull harsh or overpowering on my skin, but this is a smooth, seductive and sexy kind of amber, in the perfect amount. I also normally avoid fragrances with pettigrain in them, as I absolutely despise the smell of it on my skin, but it's blended so subtly in this, that it doesnt make me gag. It is such a very addictive scent. Hubby's now buying me a 2nd bottle. The scent lasts until you scrub it off. If I don't shower at night, you can clearly smell this the next day. Great longevity. Sillage is moderate to large... A spray behind each ear and you can smell it a couple of feet away. Probably this review is no use for anyone but me, sorry, lol. I cannot even find the words to describe this absolute luxurious masterpiece. If you like the unique, sexy and luxurious smelling frags by Serge Lutens, this is a scent for you!

Christopher Chong has been responsible for two (or more) epic orange blossom fragrances, namely Beach Hut Man and Reflection Man. This is up there with those two. It has the drama and quality of pre-demise Amouage, and indeed opens very similar to Reflection Man. This similarity soon veers away though. The jasmine from Reflection Man is here, but it fades more quickly, giving more space to the styrax and warm wood. There's no neroli here, which makes more difference than you'd think. This is darker, more woody, and more skanky than RM, though it doesn't remind me so much of R45. This has the same core DNA as the other Britologne scents, which is genius considering how different they all are. There's a playful, zesty, pithiness to it that sets it apart from any other lavender, orris, cardamom men's scent (I'm setting men's scent, as the profile would seem to resemble traditional men's profiles). This stuff, like the other Britolognes, is brutally strong and could lead to regret if oversprayed, but it's a strong love from me. Regarding JPG comparisons, it matches Fleur du Mâle in terms of the monstrous, triffid-like dominance of the orange blossom, but it ends there for me. The quality and complexity here is infinitely better than anything by JPG, no shade.

Centre Stage is a perfect fragrance from top to bottom! This is basically an more ambery and warmer Fleur du Male! That’s an outstanding fragrance which I simply love it, and still have some 30 mls left into my original 2007 bottle! Also it’s very similar to Oesel from Xerjoff, wich is another 1:1 take on Fleur du Male! Wich I’m okay with that, as long as there is still an unique original twist within the creation, besides the obvious inspiration, I don't care about that! We need more takes on beautiful legendary fragrances that are no longer available! A perfume with an interesting evolution but one that you have to wear and integrate into yourself, otherwise it will wear you out! do you understand what I'm saying!? So far so good we have a very bold and well done fragrance, done by a perfumer with a perfect technique and quality raw materials! I get outstanding longevity and projection! I’m simply in loved with this masterpiece! It will become on of my signatures along with Oesel, Fleur du Male, Gucci Guilty Absolute and Kouros!

Great name for this scent. I’m more than happy to wear this during the day but I imagine most will see this as a going out at night scent and maybe one for the bedroom as it’s very confident (hence why I think it’s a great perfume name!!) Every time I wear this it lasts all day until the next morning. But yet I do not find this overbearing or too much. It’s beautifully spicy and just that right amount of sexy orange blossom. By far my favourite from Thameen and a great older sister to Bravi who’s more grown up.

Insanely good...the amount of compliments I have received-oh my... if you want something that projects a mile a way, this is it..... Sensual, thick, creamy, mysterious, powdery and fresh suede leather. I love heavy leather scents and over the years I've had leather perfumes from Matiere Premiere (Falcon leather) ,Memo,Tom Ford, Mancera and Montale, and Centre Stage is not redundant. Love it very much and will cherish it deeply.

im not a fan of lavender, but this one here , gives me that tingglish effect that made me come back to it again and again. I like the way it settles on my skin, the dry down is perfect when the cardamom starts to take over. A perfume I would definitely wear on a cigar night. Over all 7.5/10

I'm totally confused by the reviews here. This is a very floral, sweet, powdery scent. I can not imagine any man wearing this fragrance. Totally feminine in my opinion, and I love a masculine scent. Orange Blossom, Orris and Jasmine dominate! Very floral...very feminine.

Centre Stage is one of the latest releases from the house of Thameen, a house I’m not too familiar with if I’m being honest. This is an interesting scent, one with facets I really enjoy, but also ones I absolutely detest - it presents me with a bit of a dilemma. This overwhelming surge of lavender hits you in the face upon first spray, with particular focus on the dry, peppery facets of this flower. There’s almost a classical, powdery aspect coming from the orris and white florals, which I find myself really enjoying. However this seems all but brutally ruined in the most barbaric way by an unwelcome overdose of amberwoods. If these amberwoods were not present, I’m confident I might even love this scent, but unfortunately they are - and so it remains only a like. I don’t understand the thought process, to boost longevity? It’s not worth ruining what could have been a beautiful scent.

I get so frustrated sometimes reading and watching reviews when they all sound the same. The same keywords, descriptions etc. I finally got my hands on Centre Stage and I’m going to skip all of the 1920’s smoky bar, flappers and opulence bs. This smells like a more powdery Musc Ravageur with JPG Classique style orange blossom. I don’t think that’s a negative thing but that’s what it smells like. If you like the animalic side of Musc Ravageur and you like orange blossom you’re in luck! I find it pretty unisex, maybe leaning slightly feminine because of how powdery it is. I also don’t find it beast mode so far. I sprayed this very generously several days in a row and I can smell it if I sniff my clothes but no one else can smell me just walking past or standing in front of me.

It's available since yesterday exclusively at Harrods! I expected a very masculine scent according to the note but, more feminine leaning scent! It's aromantic sweet white floral...and interestingly I get the almond note...like marzipan. It became ambery woody when it was dried down, but it's totally enjoyable! It's...like more feminine leaning Boy by Chanel. Longevity and silage: perfect of the perfection! Edit. I decided to declutter this item because I found this not my style!

This is a younger sister of Bravi for sure. It has more playfulness with some fresh and spicy notes, but it definitely has same core with beautiful gourmand floral notes. It also feels quite nutty (even almondy), but I guess it’s just my imagination. It’s nice but a bit too floral for my taste.

Beautiful floral first few hours, but, as other reviews have mentioned, there's a somewhat harsh period after about 2-3 hours where the synthetic animalic notes come to the forefront. I'm usually a fan of animalics, but here it's a sort of mix between an old person's smell and a hospitalic smell (or, worse, someone with really bad gut health). Unfortunate that this is what comes to 'centre stage', but granted this is from smelling the back of my hand. Maybe this is one best worn on clothes, and sprayed lightly from afar. Will give it a few more wears.

Pleasant but hackneyed woody aromatic cologne that does not seem to offer anything substantially new. The perfume opens with aromatic notes of lavender, citrus and slight cardamom. The heart is mostly orris and orange blossom. The perfume settles on a bed of synthetic amber, styrax and synthetic musk. The unisex cologne has moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Overall it is decent but nothing exceptional to warrant its name and these high ratings. Enjoy!

Yes, the description is right, 1920s cabarets, not that I would know, but it smells old, like perfumes I might have sensed as a child. It is unique in its own way, with a very clear and basic note: tea, and that tea note stays throughout. It is a very serious, grown-up perfume, and you can tell that a skilled, experienced nose was invested in its creation. I actually like the first spray, when it feels truly original. Then it develops and changes quite dramatically, almost too much, and it lasts all the way to the dry-down, where it clearly remains a tea-based fragrance. It is very original, long-lasting, and definitely a men’s perfume. I hope my boyfriend will like it 😄 My mistake was rushing to order it online after a single spray at an airport duty-free. Lesson learned: give a fragrance time. Wear it, test it a few times, and let it evolve on your skin before buying. No more blind buys for me. Interesting, but not for me.

I’m coming back to say as this has sat for a year the base notes have dominated the scent. And it’s get a bit tough to wear. Once the base notes sit on skin for an hour or two it gets more pleasant. At first I really liked this.. but now that animalic note really sits there and overpowers the fragrance for about 40-60 mins...If you can sit through that stage for a bit then it’s beautiful again. But sad to say that once it had sat on the shelf for a year it got trickier to wear for me. :(

A strong orange blossom with a leathery dry down. Spicy and very unisex. It almost give a root beer vibe at first. It’s complex and changes through out the wear. Longevity is good with good sillage. Very enjoyable if you like orange blossom with some spice and grit. Smells great on me and great on my husband.

Within the Britologne collection, Centre Stage is undoubtedly the most daring chapter. It is audacious, undeniably sexy, and arguably the definition of a "hipster" niche fragrance! Of the four I own from this line, this is perhaps the most challenging for daily wear, yet its brilliance is impossible to ignore. While it retains the signature Britologne "Cologne Elixir" structure—boasting a hefty, bright citrus opening—it’s that "funk" that truly defines the experience. These animalic touches are woven in with incredible taste, paired with this massive, "in-your-face" indolic orange blossom. I can hear the echoes of the Le Male DNA here for sure, but Centre Stage is quite different. My juice has darkened over time to a rich, whiskey-like amber. Paired with the frosted glass, it’s a stunning visual addition to my shelf. However, this is not a blind buy safe. It’s polarizing. For confident guys and gals.

This one is riffing on powdery-sweet men's fragrances from the 90's like Le Male, Fleur du Male or The Dreamer but with the addition of animalic elements; a thick layer of costus is giving Centre Stage a sebacious dimension, which, at times, is taking over the fragrance. Wearing it, I don't know what to make of it: some whiffs smell intriguing and the approachable, powdery, floral elements feel boldened by the costus, while others come across as greasy and bitter, almost caustic. Definitely not a safe blind buy as it's very specific and will likely not be a people pleaser.

Center Stage has a very distinct cologne quality to it. It makes it more masculine leaning to my nose. I get very prominent lavender note that makes the whole composition poorly blended and unbalanced to me as a woman. I would recommend this to guys who like lavender in their fragrance. The performance is quite good and this can be a nice cologne for a spring day for a professional man.

Peppery cardamom, aquatic notes and a rather sterile lavender, as opposed to the fuzziness you'd get from a lavender bush. There's a strong yellow, floral hue to this along with lots of fruity acidity but that I can't really describe. Mr Jovanovic is a master of incorporating floral facets into masculine scents, at least when it comes to Thameen's catalogue.

To me, this scent smells like black sweet peach tea in a plastic cup...those notes- which is fabulous. There is no scent that is similar or alike to this one. Luxurious and heavy in performance, yet delightful to the nose. Always leaves people turning heads.

I'm really enjoying this one. It's my first thameen and I consider it a winner. To me it's a heavy niche version of Gucci Guilty edt.
