Sparkling Opal

Wow. I smelled this by chance and immediately fell in love and purchased a bottle. It is by no means "for women", very unisex. They say excellent fragrances transport you to another location, offering an enveloping sensory experience. To me this reminds me of the spice markets I explored in the Levant many years ago. The fragrant saffron, cinnamon and nutmeg opening permeates my nose. Stunning. It begins to make way to some woodier, soft oud, mildly resinous notes ... Again gorgeous. Before drying down almost into an exclusively vanilla base after several hours which to me is the only disappointing part of this fragrance. Too many niche perfumes utilise vanilla. However, putting the vanilla note (which only appears to me after several hours) aside, it is a beautiful, opulent and very middle eastern fragrance that is both soft yet striking. Gorgeous 8.5/10 (would be a 10 if not for the vanilla and if it had slightly better performance for the price).

Perfumes from Thameen cannot be judged through the blotter with the opening notes. I did this mistake months back trying their bohemian infusion and fanfare. Both felt underwhelming and weak, judging them through the blotters. Recently I walked into their boutique and took home 10ml perfume of Sparkling Opal, along with a gift set including 3 of their other perfumes. Sparkling Opal is a very classy, elegant, rich, opulent blend of mature saffron playing along joyfully with merging notes. It’s very soothing to the wearer and noticeable to people around with smooth sillage. It’s poetry in air, every breath feels interesting. I very much look forward to collecting many other Thameen perfumes.

From when I tested in the shop in my local city I fell inlove with it ,But it was expensive cause its the harrods limited edition exclusive,I wonder what the fuck it is doing here, then several m9ngh passed and I assume that it must be out of stock till now after this long. But suprisigly I saw onw last still remain on the shelf quickly sold one of my amouages and bought it. Its creaminess of orris and bitterness of tonka along with warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg makes it special on my t shirt ,the saffron shines but not loud at the bottom. On the dry down its heavenly delicouse . Its quite unisex and glad to have it.

Ooh, this is nice! Initial hit was a strong pepper blast.. to the point that was all I could smell.. but it dries down and the floral, cinnamon and nutmeg come through. Seriously, I'd wear this any time of day and any season, it is a very easy wear. It says strong woody - that confuses me a little. Maybe it is as an overarching impression, but I just don't pick out any particular wood scent, but hey, maybe that is just on me though. It's expensive so I'd recommend sample, not blind buy. I love it, but it is a bit unusual for me to call it safe.

It opened up so masculine, so woody, but within ten minutes it started becoming something special and wearable for a woman. It is a stunning oriental fragrance, roses and jasmine are prominent, so are wood notes. Blended to perfection. It is a LOVE
