Rose Amber

The ingredients list for this fragrance starts out with Rosa Centifolia (which is "cabbage rose") and then also includes a variety of processed ingredients with botanical origins (e.g. cinnamal, eugenol, linalool). While I'm not sure that have ever smelled a cabbage rose, I don't know that I feel like this fragrance smells much like any of the roses that I have smelled in my life, either immediately after I spray it on or later on. I do feel like there is some floral here (even if I don't identify it as roses), and a good bit of sweet spice, and a resin-y type smell that I guess is what people are calling amber (even though I don't see amber in the ingredients list). However, I have yet to find a 7 Virtues fragrance that I do not think is terrific and this one is really lovely as well, even though I am not really getting rose from it. Unfortunately, for me, the scent fades away more quickly than with most of the other 7 Virtues fragrances that I have tried, lasting just a few hours.

After some time , I decided this would fit as my signature fragrance. Of COURSE, now it’s discontinued. Tragically, I wouldn’t be surprised that the USA’s departure from Afghanistan, where some of this scent’s ingredients were sourced from, has contributed to Rose Amber’s demise. I’m glad I have my full size bottle and will cherish it. Rose Amber comes off as a close-to-nature rose. A mature, elegant, yet still approachable flower, warmed by the almost “head shop” type amber. I find it wears very comfortably in all seasons and weather. Not synthetic, screechy, powdery, musty, or shampoo-y. Just a juicy and slightly jammy rose that embraces the wearer like a lifelong friend. My only wish is that it projected juuuust a little more... and that there was more of it available, of course. But alas... everything I love must be discontinued.

If you enjoy Fenty or Kayali Elixir 11, chances are you will enjoy this too. Not dupes, but they're also rose fragrances that give off similar vibes. I really enjoy this one. One of my favorites from the brand. I think it's being discontinued though sadly, so I may have to finally pick up my full-size bottle before it disappears off their website. Full-size is already gone from Sephora* Edit: just want to add that this Rose fragrance has some warmth (Amber) and a little sweetness from the vanilla that keeps this from being just a dusty floral. Far from a Jammy Rose tho* but those aspects give it enough character for the gourmand & woody lover in me. I do enjoy some rose fragrances too but I'm seeing I can be more picky than I thought.

A fresh, young rose — very similar to MFK Delina though not as complex. Rose Amber is Delina’s ingénue. This vernal rose has little life experience as yet. She’s innocent, unsophisticated, adorable, sweet. Inhaling her scent takes years off you, transports you back in time to a simplicity of life that only the very young are privy to. Everything is easy, fun, possible. No barriers, no boundaries. Life is a breezy bike ride down a multi-chromatic rainbow into a big bowl of cherries w/ no pits. That’s what this rose is giving. I’ll take it! 🌷😊

This started out very much like Dusita’s Rosarine with the tart, jammy rose and bergamot blend. However, this turns a bit indolic somewhat sooner than Rosarine. Later on, the base notes form an earthy cozy blend that grounds everything. It reminds me somewhat of JHAG’s Lady Vengeance at this point. It’s sad that this got discontinued; I could see it being a good signature scent for rose and patchouli lovers.

If I had to go the rest of my life with only two scents I would choose the 7 virtues Jasmine Neroli and Rose Amber. Great true to life florals that don't overwhelm me. I normally can't wear floral perfumes at all. I have had luck with clean fragrances such as The 7 Virtues, Atelier Fragrance and Clean Fragrances.

One of my favorites in the entire line. Smells like rose but not overpowering.

Smells a little spicy and pillowy in personality. On a bad day it turns too sour and plasticky (my issue with modern rose notes). On a good day, it's still a chewy rose and amber combo, but it's a classic clean rose note. I could see this being layered to get a richer rose scent with the right pairing (I don't typically like to layer fragrances). A nice "vintage cosmetics" type of rose scent**, but with a fresher, timeless feel to it. Shame it's discontinued. Does not remind me of Elizabeth& James Nirvana Rose. That one was a little harsher in composition (on me). I love vetiver and geranium, but it was too sharp on me. Oscar De La Renta's Rose is a little more similar to the rose note in Rose Amber, but ODLR's is a more dewy, aquatic classic rose. I enjoyed wearing ODLR's and couldn't wear E&J's. I would wear Rose Amber. **It reminds me of the smell of Pond's Classic Cold Cream (the vintage 80s/90s formula)

There's no scent profile that I instantly like as much as an earthy rose, and I have to say that Rose Amber more than holds its own amongst much pricier and more unique iterations in my collection. It's really beautifully balanced - floral, woody, powdery, and earthy in perfect equilibrium. This is very similar to Juliette Has a Gun's Lady Vengeance, but without that scent's abundance of iso e super and ambroxan, so it doesn't have that deliberately artificial edge. It's deep but not heavy, sophisticated but not dated, and safe without being boring.

This scent is not for everyone, but I admit to like it. Not to the point to buy a full bottle though. Dusty rose, very light rose (smells also a bit of rose water). All kinds of woods and herbal notes, giving a more aromatic and woody perspective to a rose perfume. It's a weird take on the rose-woody duo, smells old like a grumpy middle age lady... i like it

sadly no longevity or sillage.. the amber comes through in the opening pretty sharp but then its a simple yet pretty rose. in terms of how similar it is to delina: they both have rose notes. that's probably it... delina is more complex and sophisticated while this is a youthful rose.

If you love delina exclusif and want something that has similar vibes and more importantly natural ingredients, this would be my pick. Beautiful warm rose. The longevity isn’t the best but for the price you won’t feel bad overspraying.

I have not had much luck with ambers lately but I love this one. The rose is a sweet, dried rose and I feel like this is really well blended.

A very strong, and quite vintage, rose. The amber (noticable from the start) helps, but not enough. (Rose is a tricky note for me, and I find I prefer a fruitier, more "jammy" rose scent.) On my skin, it smells a lot like MFK's "Oud Satin Mood" or Nina Ricci's "L'Extase Rose Absolu" do, but with something a touch juicier at the start which bugs my nose a bit [cheating and looking at the listed notes.....oh! yep, that's definitely the davana, which turns watermelon-y on my skin for some reason!], and although there's some warm spice underneath (it's actually kind of burning my skin!), it's lacking the woody depth. There's also a hefty dose of earthy (not chocolatey) patchouli, so that's good to know. I love this house, and "Vanilla Woods" is one of my favourite ever scents, but this particular scent is not my jam. I will gift my sample to my Mom, because I think it would smell amazing on her.

I recently smelled Tom Ford's Rose Prick and I realized 7 Virtues' Rose Amber is basically a dupe, with better duration. A wonderful rose/patchouli marriage that reminds of a chypre, quite uplifting and energetic due to its spicy quality, yet grounding with earthy aspects. Not a safe blind buy as patchouli can be polarizing.

Brashly icky opening, like rancid medicine, but then chills out into a spicy rose (I think it’s the cinnamon note?) that’s still a little repulsive, and it gets jammy, too. I would not buy a bottle, but it’s a nose break from the faves, like ordering your second or third favorite dish at a restaurant just to enjoy your favorite more in the future because you have deferred it with an acceptably mid choice. If you’re sensitive to cassis, this is gonna be challenging.

Actually, this becomes pretty cloying 2nd time around. But I have to say I like this brand and ellis Brooklyn, whose rrose i love, because they dont have the harsh chemicals that sting your neck when over sprayed. So for anyone who's sensitive to synthetic perfume, these brands may be a virtue of their own

Ew. This smells like rotten rose and spoiled herbs and one of those musty antique shops that hasn’t been cleaned in decades. This just does not smell good. It’s not warm or subtle. Once it settles down, it isn’t as bad, but it ends up smelling like your grandma’s rose.

the rose notes lasted on me for a minute tops... mostly just patchouli and vetiver on my skin which was disappointing

This is head shop rose. No complaints here!
